Burning Sun

Like a meteor, Djinni crashed into the Netfrica Net surrounded in a fiery wreath. After the flames vanished around her and from the floor, she looked around curiously and then stared at the floor. First she made a few jumps to get used to her legs, then happily wiggled her toes. Putting her head back on normal level, she started to walk around to look for viruses. "So I'm not fighting with Eternalis? Kind of a pity..." she mused to herself, "I've always seen things from the side of fire. I wonder if it's different if one is aquatic..."
Djinni soon found her bare feet leaving their prints in some soft soil. The area around her was fairly bare.

Eventually, however, she found herself approaching three browned shrubs. While this looked innocent and uninteresting enough at first glance, it was not very hard to see the hoods and staffs poking out over the tops of each of the shrubs.

Apparently there were a few viruses lying in wait, hoping to ambush whatever navi next crossed their pass. And based off how their heads perked up as she neared them, Djinni was apparently their chosen victim.

Or so they thought.

Battle 1 . . .

Begin!

Djinni moved her hands over her shoulders down to the ruby on her back and pulled out two orbs of energy which instantly changed into Djinni's handguns. "No need to hide, boys," Djinni said, enjoying the promise of breaking things again, and swung the weapons down to her sides. She peeked over her veil down to her sides, one at a time, and then looked at the shrubs, "The stage is here, my dear Fhyre. Time for us to perform!" Djinni raised her gun towards the sky and shot a hole, a fiery landscape visible through it, into the air from which Fhyre dropped.

The hole swiftly closed itself afterwards and Fhyre hovered closely to the ground and raised his core up towards Djinni in question. 'OK?' he wrote in the sky, not having seen her since the problems she had at the Netball tournament.

A kind smile spread behind the veil of Djinni and she gently petted the SP. "I'm fine, thank you," she whispered to it, "But we've got more pressing things to handle." The rubies on the sides of her handguns glowed faintly for a split second and she raised them with the end towards the enemies. "Keep our guard up, Fhyre!" Djinni exclaimed and aimed at two of the enemies. From both guns she fired one shot, a loud sound originating from it, and quickly was followed by a second as the cylinder of the gun spinned. Four more shots were shot from both handguns, flying towards the enemies in rapid succession. Pressing a switch on the back of her weapons, she swung the handgun's front side open and removed the empty bullet shells with a fierce swing. Eight new bullets were created in mid-air and Djinni captured four with each handgun as she swung them in a cross motion. Closing the front side in the motion, she immediately continued to shoot bullets at the same target with her arms crossed.

In front of Djinni Fhyre kept his hands spread to protect Djinni from any incoming danger, himself not knowing what kind of enemies were waiting for them behind the bushes.

Flames were emitted from the rubies on the sides of the right handgun as a fiery chip got uploaded within its cylinder. A wave of flames was released from the gun as Djinni pulled the trigger while staring intently at the enemy to pinpoint its precise location.

Fhyre [Fire/Shield]
1. Defend Djinni.
Summoning the form of Fhyre, Djinni began her relentless bullet-hell assault, with smells of gunpowder fresh in the air and steel-coated lead flying everywhere. The shrubs were easily picked off, but the Mettfires were not so easily knocked off. One of them raised its staff to attack, but was quickly removed. The meteors fell anyway, with only one hitting Fhyre's outstretched form. The others only took a bullet, no more. Panicking, they started to rush around in erratic movements, but Djinni was able to weaken one of them significantly with a well-aimed burst of fire.

"Great work, Fhyre!" Djinni exclaimed as she tossed her handguns into the air and held her hands opened into the air, "Let's finish this!"

Fhyre swivelled over the ground to Djinni's back and placed two of his hands in Djinni's, causing Djinni to instantly tighten her grip on Fhyre's hands. With a great swing and small jump the Navi tossed Fhyre over her head at one of the enemies. The thrown SP balled his three hands into fists and held them in front of himself for the eventual impact with the enemy or otherwise.

Graciously catching her guns again in her hands, she spun around once and aimed at the enemy Fhyre wasn't at. Slowly she closed her eyes and executed a program within her and as she opened her eyes again one could see her pupils having taken the shape of crosshairs. "I've pinpointed your demise, dear adversary," Djinni said with her head slightly tilted to a side. Keeping her stance steady, she shot once with both handguns and swiftly fired another bullet behind it which had an increased velocity. The second bullets crashed into the first ones, causing a wave of flames with increased firepower to explode towards the target. Knowing her bullets had taken flight, she stared at the sky in a daze to look at the other meteors that had yet to fall. "A beautiful sight for a warm day, indeed."

-BATTLE ONE, VICTORY!!-

Rewards: 510z, 15 BugFrags
"This body is pretty easy to use, Na'im," Djinni said as she collected the spoils of the battle, "I had expected some trouble to appear or something." Lifting her handguns into the air, she brought them over her shoulders down to the ruby on her back causing the handguns' form to be absorbed by the energy emanating from it.

Fhyre slowly floated towards Djinni, rubbing his core gently after getting thrown at the enemy as attack, then dropped himself lazily onto the floor with his three hands accompanying him on the floor.

"This is your real body, so to say," Na'im said, "The previous one was a test, so it's now out of our way."

"Even legs..." the Navi muttered, glancing down at her legs. Raising her eyes on a normal level again, she delivered a kick against the air in front of her. "I could even fight without my guns," she said jokingly as she punched the air in front of her. She looked at her hands, a more serious look spread over her face, then glanced upwards. "Do you think a mission would be feasible now?" she asked quietly.

Glancing sideways for a moment, Na'im waited a bit with answering as he thought about it and then nodded to himself. "I think so, yes. But without a mess. We should require a need for battle. Something to test our new metal."

Giving a quick thumbs up into the air, Djinni started to walk down a path while Fhyre steadily followed her. "I'll see if I can find more enemies. You take care of the request," she said, putting her arms behind her head.
Djinni's travels brought her further into the Netfrica network, where the ground was a little less sparse, but the grass was still quite little, and there was still a few sand patches here and there. Oh, and there were the fire-inducing viruses, which probably burnt all the grass that was here, perhaps not too long ago. Punishable by death?

-BATTLE TWO, FIGHT!!-
The moment the enemies became visible in the distance, Fhyre had already dragged himself forwards in order to defend Djinni with his life. But before he could pass her, he was stopped by Djinni who held an opened hand out to her side to stop him. "Hey Na'im," Djinni said as she glanced upwards, "It's true, right? Those odd fragments only appear when a support program is around?"

"Apparently something in their programming alters the remains of a defeated virus. If this is true, then keeping Fhyre alive is rather desirous," Na'im stated between eating on one of the sandwiches he had received from Harke. He then slotted a chip into the PET and, after swallowing the piece in his mouth, spoke to Djinni again, "Might as well slice their forces in two. You know what you have to do."

Djinni nodded and pulled a single handgun out of the ruby embedded in her left hand, then held it tightly in both hands. "You heard the boss, Fhyre," Djinni said as she processed the chip data from the Magnum chip Na'im had slotted in and glanced over her shoulder at Fhyre, "You're to stay behind me for now. Your spotlight comes at the end of the fight." Keeping her left leg behind her right and a bit to the side, she tightened her stance while the handgun accepted the chip data and began to morph for the attack. Instead of a single hole, the gun's front started to heat up and eventually two additional holes were added to the front by a melting process. "We're going all out," Djinni muttered with a smirk hidden behind her veil. The cylinder of the gun moved three times, one time for each additional bullet added to the weapon, while Djinni secured her stance a bit better and aimed the flames of her wings to the back.

Fhyre, noticing that his mistress was taking a steady stance, held one hand against her back for support as was his task. Resting his core on the sandy floor to withhold the force he expected from Djinni's attack due to her movements and raised his hands in preparation for defense.

A small lighted red dot darted around the area of the enemies as Djinni's gun moved to aim for the best position to strike as many as possible. After locating the best target, Djinni pulled the trigger. The flames of her wings immediately enlarged themselves to propel Djinni against the force against the user of the attack. From the three holes came a collected beam of flames that razed over the floor and straight for the target which was between the two Volgears she had identified. As soon as the impact on Djinni had dissipated, she took her left hand off of the grip of the gun and moved it over her shoulder down to the ruby on her back. Taking out her second handgun, she spread her arms to the sides to prevent the remaining opposition from reaching Fhyre. "I'm your target, aren't I?" she yelled at them, "Then have a piece of me!"

Bang, bang, bang. The Volgears were dead, and that was that. The Swordy moved up to the two, and dealt their blows most efficiently. (20x2 to Djinni) Fortunately, however, their slices bounced off Fhyre's shiny arms and such, preventing him from getting mauled.

"Hahaha!" she laughed heartily and, after tilting her hand to get the gun out of the way, she knocked herself on the chest, "Is that all you guys can do?" She passed a finger over the injuries she had received from the attacks, then shrugged casually and closed her eyes. "I had expected more..." she said, ending with a sigh.

"I'll send you some chips you can use. We will return more than a bruise," he said with a smile on his face, sending two chips into the PET. "It's the same attack from before. If it works, we score. Don't change what works. In the end we'll get the perks."

Djinni nodded lazily, opening her eyes again and looking upwards at Na'im without his image actually being around. "Alright," she muttered, then glanced over her shoulder, "You still alright... Good. We'll end this." A flicker in Djinni's eye became visible as the setting of her pupils changed into that of a crosshair, which instantly became locked onto one of the enemies. With a quick flick of the wrist, she held her gun with the end aimed at one of the Swordies. "You're finished," she whispered and just before she pulled the trigger, she heard Na'im's voice ringing through her head.

"Oh, that Broadside guy reacted. Wonder why he was attracted..."

A red color spread over Djinni's face as she kept her aim steady and at the enemies. It felt like she had frozen for a moment, trying to recollect herself after hearing she would meet her friend again. "It's only business," she said with a whisper, "And don't say anything unnecessary..." The guns started to emanate a bright red color from the rubies embedded in it, the right one blowing out a small flame unwillingly, and Djinni locked onto the two enemies again. The targetting light of the handguns flickered around the battlefield as Djinni moved her body around to get into proper positions to shoot, the triggers being pulled once for each bullet, while flames spread out towards the enemies. A small puff of smoke came from each handgun, making her glance at it curiously for a moment before focusing on any incoming attacks.

After their first attack, the Swordys got more confident and pressed on after Djinni. That proved to be a fatal mistake. She readied two Heatshots and imbued them with over twice their usual power. With her improved accuracy and close targets, both viruses were charred junk data in a matter of seconds while Fhyre remained perfectly safe.

After the remains of the viruses fell on the ground, Djinni threw her guns into the air and dragged Fhyre forwards for him to do his business. "Go ahead," she told him and slid the backs of her hands over the falling guns surface as they vanished in a puff of energy directed into the rubies. "So we're heading out now, Na'im?" Djinni asked as she looked upwards as if praying to a God.

"We are leaving as soon as Fhyre is done. I'm sure it'll be fun," Na'im said as he checked for the input from Fhyre, seeing a value rising steadily.

Fhyre dragged himself around using two of his hands, while sometimes swatting air with his third. But to his senses, he was collecting the remains of the viruses that had crystallized in the form of Bugfrags and devouring it with the flames his hands were made of. After seeing there were no more left, he returned to Djinni and showed a giant thumbs up with his free hand, the other two busy with moving him around.

"We're done here," Djinni said and wrapped her hands around the core of Fhyre after his rings had stopped turning. Gently she tugged on the ruby as the hands and rings vanished and only the ruby embraced with a flame was left, which she then slid over one of the rubies on her hand causing it to vanish like the guns did. She then embraced herself with a flame and shot into the air like a reverse meteor, disconnecting herself from the internet.
