It was a dark and stormy night.

[Notice: Anyone between levels 1-20 can join us, but they have to be able to post once every two days or so (three days maximum) after every moderation.]

The sky was a gray slate. The ground was covered in snow up to the knees where it was soft. Distant ponds and rivers were frozen solid.

Overall it was quite bleak as Trent and then SINN stepped through the sunny side of NetSquare into this winter wonderland. Both girded themselves as best as they could against the cold as it swept even keener across their bodies. Their breaths steaming from their faces. SINN's pale skin flushed as the cold bit him. But his thick white cloak held off the worst as he followed Trent into the bleak world of his origins.

[Requesting Battle 1.]
{Arctic.GMO Active}

Crossing into the winter world of Sharo was a great joy for Trent, since he was being greated by her best welcome party, a snow storm and crippling cold weather. He took a few steps out, his new GMO giving him the hyperthermal bodysuit he needed to keep warm. The cold still bit at his face, and numbed his fingers, but Trent welcomed the sensation. Trent remembered the area around the entrance to the netsquare well, gladly plodding off in a direct path towards towards something familiar he knew.

"This Way."

{Requesting Battle 1}
As SINN and Trent entered the Sharo network, they trekked through the snow to explore the vast and inhospitable area. A short trudge through the frost later, they found some viruses which didn't seem to mind the cold at all. Cloudy viruses hovered over some bouncing Slimey, both of which were happy to live in the sub-zero climate simulation the Sharo network provided. Clustered together, they spotted the Navis' approach, and began their assault.

Shadows formed in the snowy night, some floating above the others, and some bouncing around rapidly. All moving quickly, being unaffected by the cold. Trent held his hand up, signaling SINN to stop in his tracks. Trent lowered his head down, looking at the viruses from the top of his eyes, "Its been a good while since I've fought these," Trent said, his words slightly mumbled by the mask over his face from his GMO. Trent's eyes scanned the viruses once more, before reaching a hand down and grabbing a familiar cold feeling, as he withdrew his ice daggers. "The viruses here are mostly aqua element," Trent started, "Use electric chips if you have any." He briefly turned his head to SINN and said, "Lets go for it."

The viruses started the charge, and Trent worked quickly, pulling out his pistol and side stepping to the left. "Mark, I need some electric chips to use." With a quick side step, he opened the lane for SINN to attack as well, and held up his pistol, taking his knife and holding it as a tactical knife.

Mark slotted in the chips and said, "The floatshoes you are wearing will keep you agile, even in the snow, so once the viruses are closer in their assault, use your knifes. I slotted in both of the zaprings. They aren't much but should be enough to drop the clouds."

Two small flashes of light pulsed from the clip of the pistol, showing the data was uploaded and ready to fire. Trent aimed in the sky, locking his sights on the middle cloud. Iron sights and a green dot was all Trent needed to see before he squeezed the trigger. The recoil was minimal, but the bullet traveled in a clear path, with lightning arcing from the shot itself.

A bright yellow shell was ejected, and another lightning charged shot replaced the old one. Trent swung his arms to the left, taking aim on the cloud that was closer to him. "Iron and green," Trent whispered. Cold chilled hands griped the steel of the pistol tighter, as the weapon was fired. The bullet fired into the air, towards the cloudy, with bright hot white lightning trailing behind it. The pistol was holstered after the soft noise of the ejected shell hitting the snow filled his ears.

Eyes down from the sky, two slimeys were approaching quickly to Trent. The tactical knife was held in his left hand in reverse grip, and his right reached for a second knife, to also be held in reverse grip. the sheen o the icey blades matched with the expression of the warrior as his knees bent to prepare a counter charge on the viruses. His foot pushed off in the snowy terrain, knives at the ready. He moved in for the closest target, trying to push the distance gap between them before using his combat tactics.

A icey blade swept low, shoulders and head following, as Trent slashed for the lower half of the slimey. His shoulder and leg weight was carried over in his momentum as he pulled his left leg up in a hook kick fashion, giving his great spin as his let blade was drawn with the hilt to his chest, ready to hammer down into the other slimey like an ice pick as he landed on the ground.

Trent took his final slash at the second targeted Slimey, trying to aim for something that would be vital towards the slimeys movement. Not much was coming up for Trent in his quick search over the jello like form of the blob. A frozen blade jabbed forwards, into the center of the blob, his logic telling him that would be the best area to attack before pulling his right leg up to kick the slimey away, and rolling away from the viruses himself.

Snow Terrain
-Snow panels do not conduct electricity.
-Snow panels reduce the speed and dodge rate of Non-Aqua Navis moving across them by 1 Rank.
-Wind attacks executed on Snow Panels increase in power and, if Null, gain the Aqua Element.
-Attacks that are already Aqua element gain Freeze. If the attack is already Aqua and already has Freeze, the chance of Freeze working is increased.
-When hit with a strong Wind type attack, Snow panels change to Ice for one turn. Following that turn, they revert to Snow again.
-When hit with a Fire element attack, Snow panels change permanently to Ice. This also generates a cloud of frosty mist over the affected panels the following turn that reduces visibility and accuracy for non-Aqua Elementals by 1 Rank, and increases the chances of being frozen by any Aqua or Wind effects/attacks that affect targets on those panels until it dissipates.
-Characters on Snow terrain may opt to generate and throw snowballs. Damage and effects may vary.
-Deals Aqua Damage + Freeze when used w/ Panel Shot.

Electrical attacks.

SINNBAD did not have any electrical attacks. But he took Trent's lead regardless. Dodging to the right as Trent to the left. Both of them gliding over the snowy battlefield with the help of their FloatShoes. His scaly casing and defensive barrier formed upon him for protection.

He assumed that Trent had electrical attacks at his disposal, so SINN would help them hit.

His palm shot out and bubbles streamed toward the Cloud viruses. Perhaps he would have better luck this time than in Beach Net. The bubbles grew bigger as they closed with the targets, intent on trapping them. If the viruses were caught, the electrical attacks released by Trent would be increased in potency.

SINN dodged again, assuming an attack from either cloud or slime.

Only then did he see Trent engage himself with Slimey viruses. SINN stopped long enough to charge his fingertips with energy. The release was powerful, SINN had put a little more effort into the attack than normal. The bolt of white energy rocketed across the terrain as Trent disengaged from his first victim. The strength of the shot should be enough to delete the virus.

Then SINN dodged away, hoping to not get rained on if the clouds were still around.

Pulling out his guns, Trent fired a couple of shots towards the Cloudy. One hit, deleting it with its electrical advantage, but the other whizzed overhead. As the Slimey leapt around, Trent and SINN felt their movements being hampered, as the Slimey emitted some sort of move-process retardant. Two leapt towards Trent, while the other headed for SINN. Trent used one of his techniques to cancel out the retardant emitted by the Slimey, and executed two quick slashes. Unfortunately, only one hit, and the other passed through thin air when the Slimey jumped over his arm. SINN, meanwhile, focused on the Cloudy, encasing one in his BubbleStar, disabling it. The others floated harmlessly to the side.

Then, as one of the Slimey prepared to jump Trent, the knight fired a bolt of white energy towards the virus, deleting it. The other Slimeys about to attack Trent and SINN was surprised by the sudden attack, causing their own to miss. Trent tried to take advantage of this by attacking the one still near him, but it missed, as the Slimey leapt back when it saw the knife. The Slimey that attacked SINN also missed as the knight's fancy footwork warded off the attack. The Cloudy that wasn't encased in a bubble made a cloud of piercing needle-like rain to assault SINN, but it missed by a long shot as it veered off.

Trent took a step back from the lines of the enemies and overlooked the movement of the slimeys. Trent found them to be highly annoying, with their strange jumping patterns and odd assaults. He shifted his weight backwards, his feet colliding with the snow but his feet not sinking into it. Gracefully sliding backwards over the surface until he was next to SINN. "Those slimeys are getting highly annoying." His eyes flicked skyward as he saw the cloudy raining down over the area. "That is also going to be an issue. Drop it. I can handle the slimeys, drop the clouds then offer extra attacks my way if you can."

"What chips do you need? I'm thinking we need to drop those Slimeys quickly and harshly, I'm going to send over the dash attack. What else do you want?" "Kunai."

Trent took another step backwards, just out of SINN peripheral vision and disappeared into the cover of the snow storm, his form blending in seamlessly as he activated his stealth combat mode. The snow passed around his hidden form, and his feet never touched the ground from his floatshoes. He was hidden and floating around, watching the patterns of the bouncing slimeys. Trent felt the data from the chips in his system, and started to move to the flank of the random viruses, all the while watching how the move, what they do, and where they were going to go next.

Trent stopped moving when he was on the flank of the two, trying to line up the viruses to be in a straight line, for the dash attack chip. Silently the invisible fighter withdrew his icey blades and held them both in reverse grip. Trent lowered his body, bent his knees and held both his knives close to his body as the Dash attack chip kicked in. Trent started the first few steps of his own power, pushing his weight over the snow without affecting it, and pushed off with the attack. He moved quickly and held out his knives of his sides to slice and dice the slimeys as he glided by them invisibly.

Trent came out of the dash attack and twisted himself around on his speed and grinded to a halt over the surface of the snow, leaving its white surface undisturbed. Trent re-sheathed his two knives and reached his hand down to another one of his knife leg holsters, and pulled out three icey throwing daggers. He pulled the first knife back over his head and took careful aim at the second slimey in the line, seeing as it would be the least likely of the two to have hit with the dash attack. Trent carried his hand down quickly and heavily, throwing the frozen weapon straight towards the other slimey. The other two blades were quick to follow as Trent finished his assault with the kunai.

Summary
1) Stealth Training Invisibility (Invisible for one turn)
2) Combat Tactics Preparation (Movement to the flank of the two slimeys to line them up + Take Aim + Take Aim)
3) Dash attack to Slimey B + Take Aim (90 in a straight line, hopefully getting the other one)
4) Kunai to Slimey C + Take Aim ( 30 x 3 Slashing)
SINN nodded and turned his attention to the Clouds. One of the viruses was trapped in a bubble, so he targeted it first.

He drew his hand up, wet snow collecting around his gauntlet. He flicked his wrist as it got above his head in a side to side motion. A wave of frozen water leapt out from the space drawn, toward the Cloudy. The wide watery blade slashed the air as it flew at the trapped virus.

Then SINN leapt out of the way of the other virus' frozen rain. Skidding across the snow. His cloak would do little to stave off the cold if he was drenched.

The navi turned as he slowed to a stop, aiming for the last Cloud. He proceeded to launch successive energy blasts at the virus. His hand recoiled after each expulsion. Two largish shots came first, followed by a hail of energy. The bolts of energy cut through the snow to attack the fluffy virus.

Trent faded back into the visible spectrum, still holding his knives offensively. His eyes drifted over to SINN as he nodded a silent approval with the deletion of the viruses. Trent walked to gather his part of the zenny and sent them over to the bank account. 'Its good to be getting some funds back into there,' Trent thought, 'After wasting money on this tattoo for information that would have been staring right at me. Oh well.'

Trent walked over to SINN and looked at his snow encrusted armor. 'He must be getting cold. As long as he can keep doing well in combat that's what matters.' Trent thought, as a small smile spread over his face, although blocked by his face mask. "Not to bad," He said to SINN. "Lets keep going though. We should try to find something other than this arctic desert." Trent glided back over the snow, leading on once more.

{BATTLE 2 please}
Tundra.

SINN thought as he tried to brush off the snow that had accumulated over his clothing. He had felt strange during battle, as if new data was coming and going. Perhaps chip trading was going on while he was battling. But it seemed to have solidified for now. He looked inside himself and found another sword. He might have to use it in the next battle he thought as he followed Trent through the snow.

[Battle 2.]
As SINN and Trent trudged through the snow, not really being affected due to their FloatShoes upgrades, they found that the snow had solidified into a solid sheet of ice that extended around forever. Soon, they found upon a small enemy camp, where a load of immobile and semi-immobile viruses were stationed. Several Puffy were surrounded by Sparky satellites and an interesting new virus. The Ashuraid, as its name-ID showed, were six feet tall metallic semi-humanoid viruses, rolling around on a huge ball that served as most of its lower half. Helmeted heads shielded their eyes from all else. Most interesting were the six huge floating arms at its sides.

The viruses noticed the two approaching their area, and showed signs of offense.

SINNBAD acted first this time, charging into the picket line with reckless abandon. His cloak billowed out behind him as he flew across the slippery ice. His feet floated on the air currents. The icy wind bit at his face and hair. He glowed as white as his coat as he closed, his form becoming a bright semi-formless silhouette. White scales, shining brilliantly, enameled the parts of his body that were visible.

His sword appeared at his side, grasped in its dark sheath. Snowflakes parted as he drew the blade. The cold metal sang as he closed, the point shining. The blade seemed to visibly widen as he leapt into the fray. His cloak billowing after him.

Gripping the sword tightly in both hands he heaved his weight as he landed. The sword cracked like a whip and sent a pounding wave of kinetic force across the shield wall. The blade was icy smooth and had a ghostly gleam as it bit the air. The force of the blow was strong as a winter's storm. Tearing at its opposition.

The knight pivoted on his boots on the back-swing and brought the blade around again. Spinning like a top, his cloak flapping behind him. The wide edge of the blade was razor sharp and sent up another thunderous crack as it glided through the virus lines like silk. The wave of energy slicing through the still ice-glittered air.

And again the blade sliced through the line. Relentless was SINN's assault. He yelled and bellowed curses, pushing over the stricken and fallen, shoving his way through the mob. His sword and voice singing the song of battle. He swung swift and a little haphazardly, there was no one but enemies in his way. All would taste his mighty blade.

Finally the sword could endure no more blood and battle, and shattered. The shards dropped upon the icy field like snowflakes, tinkling across the cold ground. SINN wheeled to a stop, facing the viruses that remained from his onslaught. His breath steaming with each puffing breath. He inhaled deeply, his cloak caught the wind again and puffed out behind him, mirroring his cheeks. Deeply.

And released a Hellstorm. The roar cracked the ice. Sweltering, unnatural heat poured from his open mouth, flooding over the virus horde. The flames licked and crackled and scorched at everything. The inferno washed over the battlefield, burning the landscape and melting the ice into boiling, bubbling pools. Steam erupted everywhere, clouding everything in a thick haze.

It was pandemonium.

Trent raised his hand when he saw the camp of viruses, with the new and unusual viruses standing among their ranks. The many hands and arms of the new ones kept Trent a little unsure what to do or how to handle them. He turned to look at SINN to ask him what to do, and SINN quickly answered by charging and rushing forwards. Trent didn't flinch at his movement pace or his attack efforts, and simply matched the knight stride for stride, falling a few paces behind.

"Mark. Send me some useful group chips!" Trent barked as he ran to the opposite flank of SINN. As SINN started to deal with the new viruses, Trent took the flank of the puffys and Sparkys. His eyes flicked quickly back to SINN as the reflection of a great blade being drawn shone in his eyes. An eyebrow briefly raised as he thought, 'This will be a promising show.'

Heavy boots floated over the ice, as the warrior made his way over to the opposite flank of his ally, his eyes constantly scanning the group of viruses looking for the proper weak points in the lines. Trent's feet started to slow from the running pace as the presence of the chip data Mark had sent to him could be felt. The first one that caught his attention was the wood tower, a lovely gift from the netpolice officer Waltz.

He loaded up the chip and withdrew a knife. The knifes blade was different that its normal frozen edge, as the chip changed it to a form of sharpened wood. Trent watched the movements of the sparkys, planning to send this attack right into their weak point with the elemental differences. He took the wooden blade and slammed it hard into the ground, hammering it deep into the ice. With a flick of the wrist, he broke the wooden edge off and left it in the ice, as he slid quickly backwards, the icey blade growing back from the wooden stump. Several large wooden pikes formed, and advanced over the lines of the sparkys, and the puffys.

Trent pulled up three throwing knives from his knife holsters, placed there by the kunai chip as he activated it. Each knife had the bite of the Sharo cold, as each knife was made of ice. Trent took the knives and planned to throw each one at a different Sparky target, hoping that it would either finish them, or prepare them to die from the follow up attack of his. His hand flung the three blades, each separately.

Trent pulled up his next wide group hitting chip, the flameline attack. Trent withdrew a blade of fire, and repeated the actions he took prior with the woodtower chip. He slammed the blade into the ice, breaking it off at the hilt, as a new icey blade replaced the one modified by the chip. A wall of fire ruptured the ice from under the attack, as it rampaged forwards, heat and light spewing from the firewall as it streaked across the ice, and across the Sparkys.

Summary
1) Preparation (Movement to the opposite flank of SINN, the Sparky Side + Take Aim + Take Aim)
2) Woodtower to Sparky A, B, C + Take Aim (100 + Piercing + Ground Attack + Line-Chain x2 Elemental weakness?)
3) Kunai to Sparky A, B, C (30 Slashing to each. One from each knife)
4) Flameline to Sparky A, B, C + Take Aim (Fire (70 + Ground Attack + Wide Attack))
SINN and Trent dashed forward through the thick and thin, approaching the group quickly. The Ashuraid quickly lifted all of their six arms, and activated a huge all-encompassing attack on SINN and Trent, trying to catch them in their movements. In their frenzy, the two dodged all of the attacks through sheer agility and a dash of luck, except for one attack which rebounded off of SINN's defense. The WideSword he slashed at the Ashuraid later managed to hit one of them, as he missed the other. However, it seemed that the metallic exterior of the Ashuraid was more than for fancy show, it also seemed to diminish his attacks! Another slash, and the other was hit along with a Puffy. The fat fish retaliated by firing a few bubbles around him, one of which bounced off his defense again harmlessly. Slicing up some more things, he weakened another Puffy. Then, drawing back, a fiery breath was unleashed upon the Puffy, which melted away some of the ice into lava and burned one of the fish-things.

Meanwhile, Trent was more concerned with the Sparky. Taking aim with his WoodTower, he unleashed the attack upon the satellites, only to be foiled by the satellites' erratic whirrings. One of the Puffy behind was hit quite successfully, however. The Kunai later was a bit better, but it only hit two of them. The satellites split up, with two going for Trent, and the other going for SINN. The latter smashed through SINN's defenses with its bashing attack, doing quite a bit of damage to him afterwards (30), but not before getting roasted by his HeatBreath. The other two were similarly very successful, smacking into Trent for a very hefty amount of damage! (40, 40) His retaliation to that was a Flameline to their faces, roasting the satellites.

SINNBAD shrugged off the pain and repositioned himself with quick sidesteps. His armor brightened off the glow of the lava and scaled a gleaming crimson. He moved in such a way as to present his armored pauldrons to his attackers, and little else.

When he was in position, he pitched forward. He bunched his hand tightly, his arm bulging with muscle, and slammed the mailed fist into the unstable ground. The force of the blow fissured the ground and sent a shockwave slicing through ice and lava. The beam was narrow, but the navi's aim was through the middle of the virus horde. The blade of energy would cut right between them, potentially damaging anyone in or on either side of its path.

He then repositioned. His feet gliding over the snow, his defenses raised. He shouldered incoming blows off the angled parts of his armor as he moved to fight the Ashuraids some more.

SINN was angered. He had no attacks meant to break armor. All he could hope for was to wear his opponent down with barrages. He ducked and tried to get underneath the lashing hands of one of his opponents. SINN's hands burned white hot as he brought them up to push against the casing of the metallic monster.

Thunder beat like drums.

Iridescent bolts blasted from both hands, barraging the Ashuraid at point blank range. Each blast would beat across the virus' heavy armor, denting it even more. SINN grit his teeth at the kickback but dug his heels. He would hold on until the creature died.

Trent took the damage, and quickly shrugged it off. Going in headstrong, wasn't exactly his thing. He knew he was much more of a precision fighter. 'Next time, I won't dress to impress.' He thought. Trent dropped to a lower stance and said, "Send me that one chip with the various--" Trent was cut off by the presence of chip data in his system, and the exact one he was just requesting, the AmatsuHaretsu1 chip. He loaded it up, which causes the clip on his makarov pistol to flash bright blue four times. His hand darted down to the gun, pulling it out with four glowing lights floating around it. He took careful aim at each of the remaining weak viruses, the two puffys and the one sparky. He sent the respective number of shots required for deletion at each one, then re holstered the pistol.

'Time for what I'm good at.' Trent thought as he with drew two knives. One the finger ring knife in his right hand reverse grip, the other saber gripped eight inch blade. He didn't take the time to wait and see if his AmatsuHaretsu1 chip managed to delete the enemies or not. Trent was in a blind slashing fury. A flash of light from one of SINN's attacks filled his eyes before he rushed in to get the puffys with some quick actions. He led with his left knife and slashed at the first puffy, and then quickly jumped to the second, hoping both slashes would cause the deletions of the viruses.

Trent carried his weight through the attacks and rolled beyond the positions of the puffys, to give SINN a quick chance to launch his attacks. Trent watched his allies movements long enough until he knew it was safe for him to slash back into the fight. Trent pushed his bulky form from his position, and came up behind the Ashuraid that SINN wasn't engaging, and pulled his right knife high above his head, and slashed hard into the center of the creatures back. Trent twisted the knife harshly, trying to disable the Ashuraid, even if he couldn't delete it.

For Trent's final action he looked at the floating sparky, unsure of the creatures deletion. He took his left knife up, and stabbed it upwards harshly, trying to ram it through the bottom of the virus. Adding in a flick of the wrist for extra pain, he pulled it out and kicked away at the sparky before rolling and dodging away from the lines.

SINN dashed through the enemy ranks and slammed his fist into the ground, smashing up a shockwave that racked the ground and damaging an Ashuraid along with one of the Puffy, deleting it. Trent whipped out his pistol and shot down a Puffy and a Sparky. The Ashuraid quickly went into defensive mode shortly after the assault, putting up their fists to block the attacks.

They managed to block off one bullet and one slash each, and retaliated with some fists in face. SINN weathered the blow with his defense, while Trent avoided it quickly. The remaining blows were then delivered quickly, executing both surviving viruses with deadly efficiency.

Trent straightened his back and sheathed his knives, the icey blades still making the distinctive noise as they slid into the leather casings. Trent rolled his shoulders in a stretch, and held his wounds, still feeling some pain from the overall battle. Just as he took his first step, a wave of blue energy washed over him as Mark used a minienergy subchip, to heal some of Trent's wounds. Trent nodded in approval.

He looked to SINN, gave a silent nod of approval and thought, 'He can hold his own in battle that's for sure, and his chip range is impressive, no doubt there.' Trent gathered the zenny data left by the viruses and said, "If I remember right, there should be a few small digital observatories in this area." Trent kept walking, heading in the direction he thought they were. "Glad to have another fighter with me," He tossed over his shoulder as he moved forwards.

SINNBAD gathered up the datum and straightened his back. He was about to pull out some medical herbs for his partner, but Trent then healed himself with a subchip. So SINN tightened his gauntlets instead.

Then he stopped for a moment when he heard about the observatory.

"An observatory perhaps could provide us with a map of the area and disposition of viral forces."

He wished as he followed. He watched for any signs of viruses as he continued.

"Sir Trent, the viruses here are wild and untamed. They provide quite the challenge. I can see how great warriors such as yourself could be born from such trials."

His footfalls were light as air, gliding over the snow. The jingle of his armor was the only thing besides his voice that was audible as he shadowed the Sharoan.
