It all began tonight.

Bump.
((Took me forever to do this one with the iPod D:. No copy paste sucks...))

Oberon came across a small patch of grass among the vast sandy terrains. Just to keep his feet cool, he decided to walk over it until he saw something rise from the ground! Oberon leapt away from the viruses and saw that it was a group of larks and killplants, a deadly combo...but there was a mysterious virus among them as well.

"Zapring, BubbleStars. Both."

Rachel looked confused for a moment, making her severe features seem even angrier than usual, thinking that Oberon had somehow just barked an order at her without taunting or insulting her, and furthermore, that he had done it in a woman's voice. She quickly realized, however, that Titania was standing in her archer's stance, with three arrows that were all empty of chip data held between her fingers, nocked and ready.

Don't order me around, Rachel said softly, more indignant than truly angry, as her deft fingers moved through the freshly re-organized chip folder and snatched, slotted, and replaced the correct chips with surgical accuracy.

"The PET has the capability for multiple-input. You can slot-in four at once and then remove them if you have the dexterity. This is several times more efficient than your current technique. Please learn to use the equipment available to you instead of insisting on a method developed for outdated units."

Titania, unperturbed by her operator's openmouthed expression of utter offense, drew her bow and fired a barrage of arrows that all morphed in midair into bubbles, floating out in all directions, so rapidly that the first slow-moving projectile had not yet hit its target before the final one was loosed.

As if the recoil from the shot had pushed her into a spin, Titania whirled and flicked a small object from her hand at a Lark, hoping to stop it from firing at her. The object flashed yellow as it flew and expanded into a quick-flying ZapRing.

Titania's body froze in the throwing pose for a milisecond and then drifted into a wisp of solid smoke as Oberon took her place and ran in the opposite direction she had been facing, barrelling straight into a virus, looking to use it as a platform to jump off of, so that he could roll lazily into an inverted position and Titania could materialize above him, the two touching for the briefest of instants, so that Titania could be launched with terrifying power into the air above. She soared over the battlefield as Oberon dissipated into a white smoke, turning a single front flip as her weapon coagulated from the smoke that filled the bodies of her and her partner. Her bow was drawn and her eyes locked on a target...

Titania fires off a string of bubbles, trapping four of her six targets. She also nails a Lark with a Zapring, stunning it. Her and Oberon then slam into a Killplant and fly into the air. The viruses then make their move, two of them using what strength they have to break their prison and one firing a wave of water at the navi(s), which can't quite reach high enough to hit.

Titania fired once, loosing one projectile that became two in mid-flight, each one making a heavy whooshing sound as they bombed through the air like meteorites, seeking their targets with unerring accuracy.

With a soft thump, Titania landed on all fours on a grassy patch, muttering furiously, knowing that she had no time to lose.

"RageClaw. Pulsar. ElecSword."

What are you going to use that Pulsar for? It's a waste of-

"Oberon, can you manage something for the Pulsar?" Titania muttered to herself.

"You bet," came the answer. Rachel, seemingly never jaded to the idea that her Navis could order her around, didn't say any more as she followed orders.

As soon as the first chip's data went live, Oberon dug a pair of glowing red, clawed hands into the earth underneath his feet.-. A series of deep crack sounds echoed across the Net as he slowly rose to his full height, holding above his head a large chunk of a GrassPanel, nearly the size of the Navi himself, as large as a boulder and as solid, despite the spiralling fragments of data floating away at the seams where he had torn the Net's programming asunder.

With a howl of rage, Oberon hurled the chunk of Net at his enemies, not aiming at any particular one, only hoping to land it near them, to crush one, or at least throw them into disarray. His howl echoed off into the distance as his body shifted from fighter to archer, and another of Titania's arrows flew. This one melted in midair into a shaft of pure, shimmering energy, which broke against the makeshift boulder and splashed in all directions, making the air vibrate with destructive power. The disturbance flowed outward like a wave, finally sweeping Titania herself away, as her very form was washed away and dissolved like so much smoke on the wind.

"Surprise."

As the Navi's ethereal form dissipated from one place, it reappeared in another, twin blades flashing at lightning speed to draw two 180 degree arcs around his body almost before he had even fully materialized. His arms flickered with energy one last time as he lunged towards another enemy, aiming both blades at its core, blades flickering with a light that could penetrate the very essence of a virus' data.

Titania pierces through the opposition, felling two Larks with the power of her Twinfang before switching to Oberon and hurling a chunk of ground at the KillPlants and blasting most of them with high-intensity sonic waves. The dual navi swooped across the battlefield, ending up right behind the Larks, taking down two more with an Elecsword and draining the life out of the last one. He is then assaulted by attacks from the KillPlants, which the shields block out.

The SnakeArm suddenly appears behind the two and lashes out with sharp fangs, piercing through a great deal of damage.

As the KillPlants released their futile retaliation, Titania and Oberon flickered between faces and forms, striking a different battle stance each time, fending off the attacks with practiced grace and expertise. "More firepower," they said in two voices. "Energybomb. Vulcan. Shotgun." As the Navi finally took the form of Oberon, he yelled out, "And make it snappy, girl!"

And that was when the largest virus' fangs pierced the Navi's surface, sending shattered bits of data fluttering away from the impact. Oberon whirled 180 degrees the instant he felt the hit, his face full of vengeance, his right arm-blade full of freshly loaded chip power. Whether Oberon was actually aware of the loaded chip or not became irrelevant as he shattered his weapon in his hand, then dropped the remaining fragments onto the ground in front of the virus behind him and stepped back, apparently realizing for the first time that they were about to explode.

As the weapon broke into white non-substance, already it began to form again into the shape of Titania's bow, already held and drawn in Titania's hands. With a low humming sound, as if her arrow was a beam of energy being discharged, she fired once, then pivoted and fired again, and again, and again, her hands a frenzied blur as she loosed arrow after arrow, each one pulling with it a stream of light, until the air around Titania was a maze of glowing threads, shimmering power residue hanging in the air in the wake of her storm of destruction. Her arrows flew almost too rapidly to track, and several of them even exploded on impact, yet no matter how quickly she fired, she was never careless. Even as she discharged Chip energy at maximum speed, tearing her enemies asunder with as much damage per millisecond as the PET could muster, she maintained grace and control.

Rachel stared, mesmerized by the show, seemingly unaware that any Navi was capable of such grace. Her look of amazement slowly changed to one of revelation as she observed how Titania and Oberon could twist the powers of BattleChips to their will, how the chip data served their fighting style instead of dictating it.

Rest of the viruses was shot down and Titania /Oberon waited until the last virus emerged...when the SnakeArm popped out, it again took the nasty way and hit the navi on the back! Even with the painful wounds, Titania/Oberon turned and wasted the whole clip on the virus, deleting on mid-air!

Titania let out a slow breath, hanging her head as her bow dematerialized, her focus now completely on gathering the lost data from her body, filling with force of will the cosmetic gouges and holes in her body. She didn't speak to her Operator for what felt like a long time.

[ Titania, you're hurt. I can help you, Aunty Jean gave me some SubChips along with the folder. ]

"Good. Thank you," was all Titania could say. With eyes closed, she accepted the healing, as the SubChip's energy coursed through her body and bolstered her until she was at fighting strength again.

The job done, Titania simply nodded to some invisible place in the air where her Operator was watching from, and walked deeper still into the Net.

[BATTLE 5, BRING IT ON, COCKBAGS.]
((Modlock for this battle only.))

Titania didn't get too far before coming to a large rock formation overlooking the water. The rock itself sloped gently up from the sand at her feet before ending in a sharp cliff. Two large pools were carved into the rock, each large enough to fully submerge a navi in were they full, but both were drained of water at the current time. The second, closer to the cliff edge, had a hole in the side that had been filled with smaller rocks that looked like they could give way with enough force, assuming the hole opened on the cliff face. Beyond the rock, Titania could see nothing but ocean.

Ocean that was rapidly rising to overtake the sand behind and on either side of the rock.

Moving to the cliff edge, Titania could see a large shadow in the sea moving toward the rock.

Titania hurried to the cliff's edge, seemingly eager to take position while there was still time. She marched rapidly up the rock face, then once perched on the cliff's edge, took a stance that would put her in profile to the thing coming at her from the ocean, as if about to engage something in hand-to-hand combat. Whether this was out of nervous tension or simple habit wasn't clear as she nodded slowly, taking careful note of the dangerous pits in the ground and the large, unidentifiable shape moving towards her. "Rachel, Guy," she said coolly, as her bow materialized in her hands. "Do you see that?"

There was a momentary silence from Titania's communication link with the physical world; Rachel clearly didn't see it. "Look out over the water, in front of me," she instructed curtly. "Please input a Minibomb, a Zapring, and a TwinNeedle, in that order." Rachel noted as she followed instructions that Titania's words lacked the urgent pace that they'd been spoken with before, as if the ghostly Navi knew that she had ample time to prepare.

[ Titania, can I just say... ]

"No time. For this battle, all of us must be a team."

Titania suddenly seemed to sprout an extra pair of arms as Oberon appeared where she stood, the two of them standing like some bizzare statue on the clifftop, keeping watch over the ocean with two pairs of superimposed eyes. Titania slowly gave her bow a full draw, holding the oversized device's immense weight without even the slightest tremble, tracking the thing's movements until it was in range for the perfect shot.

And that was when Guy saw it.

[ Oh my God. ]

Seeming to take a cue from Guy's nervous stuttering, Titania loosed an arrow that flitted through the air and sliced through the water, showing no signs of being slowed or deterred by the change of medium. This arrow was followed by another fully drawn shot, which struck the surface of the water with a splash as it exploded into a brilliant, destructive lightshow, while Oberon stood ready to defend himself, superimposed upon the same space as her.

As Titania advanced to the edge of the cliff, the water continued to rise around them, encroaching around the sides of the rock. The shadow, meanwhile, began to become more defined as a large, elliptical object. She let loose with a simple arrow, followed by an energy blast...

...which both bounced off the hull of the leviathan as it surfaced, revealing a gigantic black submarine. As it continued to approach, it fired a pair of torpedoes at the rock, causing it to shudder upon impact. Titania, and Oberon as he appeared as well to take up the defense, could here something that sounded like a small rockslide from below them for a few seconds afterward.

Meanwhile, the ocean gradually rose even more around them.

<...Nice!>

Oberon practically laughed out loud as he saw the huge thing surface, and the blue jewel around his neck twinkled with the thrill of the fight. The dust from the explosions swirled around Oberon's body as he launched his body off the rock and practically flew through the air, his form a blur as it screamed across the Net area at frightening speeds, over the water and through the skies, leaving Titania still standing vigil at her vantage point far behind. His eyes were locked on target the entire time-- locked onto a small detail on the ship that both Rachel and Guy would have no chance at all of spotting if it were not for the modified PET's oversized screen...

It was Guy who first saw the tiny detail on the submarine's hull.

[ What the hell! What are you doing? If you sink into the water- ]
[ Look, Rachel! ]

Guy's excited voice sounded less distant than before through her sister's microphone as he leaned closer to her, trying to get a better view of what was happening.

Oberon landed with a loud clang, in a fraction of the time that Rachel had been expecting. [ What chips? ] She asked frantically, turning aside and relying momentarily on her Navi's voice to tell her what to do.

"I'm well armed with the Zapring. But be ready to send some heavy--"

Titania's voice suddenly cut off in mid-sentence as her position on the net was altered radically, from standing on the clifftop to in the same space as Oberon. The Navi wound up both of its right feet just briefly before slamming the hatch of the Submarine as if kicking a football, both of their considerable strength concentrated into one shot.

Oberon and Titania quickly teleport to the top of the submarine and blast open the hatch with a Microburst, right before two torpedoes blast into the cliff surface, again, but not doing much.

The two drop down and land softly. Behind Oberon is the humming of the engine probably coming from the engine room. Currently he is in a narrow passage between the engine room and another room in front whose door he can barely make out. There is poor lighting, but there was probably a switch somewhere.

The dual navi could hear mutterings from behind the door in front of him... Hmmm... also, doesn't it feel like the water level rose?

It doesn't look like the armor on the inside of the submarine isn't nearly as fortified as the IronBody-like covering on the outside.

So... shall we proceed?

"Pulsar. Quickly."

Titania hissed one final order to the human pair in the outside world as she spotted a target to unleash hell upon. She took her time drawing her bow, concentrating her aim solidly in a straight line down the hall, keeping her body rock-steady as she waited for human flesh to catch up with her order. The sound from her audio link to the outside world was one of wordless haste, something that Oberon found amusing and Titania found pleasing.

Titania held the bow at its fully drawn position for just a few moments, even after the Pulsar chip was properly loaded. In those few moments, Oberon's body melted away, sublimating into a cloud of pure energy, an entire Navi's worth of power floating in the form of a haze that shimmered like heat even as it seeped into Titania's arms and became concentrated into a solid white glow, centered on Titania's oversized bow and arrow.

She loosed her arrow with a sound like a distant thunderclap. The air between her and the target door shivered, as if in anticipation of the earthshattering blow that was about to land. The arrow morphed into a living pulse in mid-flight, a moving disturbance in the Net, and on impact, it exploded into a shuddering sphere of power, amplified by the power of the link between two Navis born to fight as one.

[Pulsar 250 damage on door, hopefully hitting everything behind it and the sub itself (on several squares!) for 125 damage]
Titania fired the pulsar chip at the door, and sure enough, the moment it hit it exploded into a rippling shockwave, blowing the door wide open and causing the entire sub to shudder. Titania was knocked to the floor in the process, as was a purple-armored navi that appeared on the other side of the door.

"Jesus FUCK," she heard him say. "What the hell WAS that?"

The HeelNavi scrambled to his feet, pressing a button on the control panel he had been standing at that sent a shockwave rippling through the ship, then staggered to the doorway to see his attacker.

"You!" he exclaimed, recognizing Titania and pointing his buster arm at her, "you're that bitch on that rock I was using as target practice! How did you get in here?"

Titania may have been thrown off her feet, but the ghost-image of Oberon was apparently not. He rematerialized in the doorframe, right where it had been blown off its hinges, and smirked as he pointed his right fist-blade in the astounded HeelNavi's face.

"Who taught you to operate this contraption?" He said, totally unconcerned by the weapon pointed back at him. A lightning arrow suddenly phased silently through his back, through his arm, and out of his outstretched hand, making it appear as if he'd fired a bolt of electricity from his blade at point-blank range, straight at the HeelNavi's head. With that, he reached out to grab the HeelNavi by the shoulders and try to spin him around, only to vanish and reappear directly in front of him again, unarmed, waving his empty hands in a taunting gesture.

[ Titania, your energy readings are worrying me... having Oberon stay separate like that is-- ]

"I know my limits," said Titania, privately, so that only the human world, and not her enemy, could hear, as she quickly and stealthily made her way down the hallway. "Energybomb."

Meanwhile, Oberon continued to swing feints at the HeelNavi, then vanish, ensuring hopefully that the dull-witted Navi would stay concentrated on him and not the truly dangerous (at the moment) one of the pair, who was sneaking down the hallway, her head ducked low. "I sure-- wouldn't trust you at these controls, when you didn't even notice us when we--!"

He continued this game for several precious seconds, covering Titania's approach as she scurried down the hall, ducked low because there was no lateral space with which to dodge, practically on all fours, making no sound with her feet that was not covered by Oberon's taunts and grunts. "You missed TWO Navis flying through the air and landing on the back of this machine!" He was yelling now. "Maybe we should've just watched, to see how long you would spend shooting at rocks thinking they looked like Navis!"

Suddenly, he vanished completely, just as an explosion engulfed the cabin, a second arrow fired from close range, meant to blindside the distracted HeelNavi. "Play time's over," she said quietly. "Now, you die."
