It all began tonight.

((Sorry, must've missed it with all the stuff that changed in the summary.))

The Heelnavi was relatively unaffected by Oberon's jab at his ability to control the sub. As soon as they began their attack, he slung two bubbles forward, which began to slowly weave around each other through the tight space of the cabin.

Before they could reach the passage leading to the hatch and engine room, the Heelnavi pointed his buster arm at them and fired off five small bursts. The first two hit the bubbles, releasing anchors encased within, while the remaining three continued past and destroyed Titania and Oberon's newly re-erected shields. The first anchor slammed into the dual navi, while the second flew past, causing the sub to rock violently again as it collided with something in the engine room.

Red light flashed through the sub, and a warning message blared in a strange viral language. Apparently the heelnavi understood, however. As he exclaimed an "aw shit" at his mistake, the dual navi fired a burst of electricity at him.

He retaliated by releasing a small mechanical orb, which fired a scrambler shot at Oberon and Titania. It hit, causing the image of both to flicker for second before stabilizing. In the brief moment of disruption, he managed to catch sight of the energybomb shot and duck it, where it hit the inside of the sub and exploded in a flash behind him.

Meanwhile, on some level, Oberon's taunts had proven effective, and the HeelNavi felt his systems locking up.

Rachel cursed loudly as, despite Oberon's diversion, Titania was pummeled by attacks. Rachel, however, quickly regained her composure and focus, as Guy's emotions flowed in the opposite direction, from hopeful disbelief to mumbling, discontented worry. Through the voice-link, Titania vaguely heard Rachel's voice saying, "Learn to pull yourself together if you think I'm ever going to let you-"

It's close quarters. I love it. Set him up and I'll take him down! Quickly, before we find out what the flashing red lights mean! Titania's pendant-jewel flickered urgently with Oberon's words. It was more data than speech; each inflection and speech mannerism communicated within the span of a few milliseconds.

At that moment, Rachel turned her head back to the PET screen and spoke into her microphone, urgency having apparently cured her of her pride.

"Rageclaw, Sword," came the immediate response.

Titania's bow dematerialized as she was snapped instantaneously to Oberon's position in the Net and she opened what would be the final engagement of the battle, win or lose, with a simple uppercut to the chin. Her hand-- much like the rest of her body-- was a blur, as she flowed into existence right in the HeelNavi's face, her arm already moving in a surprise punch.

"Well? Where's that Sword chip? You got the stupid chip right, how about the strong one?" Hissed Oberon's voice in Rachel's ears, the Navi still apparently able to berate his Operators even when Titania had taken his place. Rachel didn't respond verbally, choosing instead to turn her eyes temporarily away from the action on the PET screen, using both hands to frantically pick through her uncle Jean's relatively large and disorganized folder of BattleChips.

Titania faded out with the follow-through of her punch, and was replaced by Oberon, both hands burning red from his forearms to the tips of his weapons, casting a light like the birth of a newly lit flame, a flame that grew to illuminate Oberon's entire body with a color like sunset as he plunged both weapons forward in a spear lunge, through the space where the enemy HeelNavi stood, and into the wall behind with enough power to bury them to the hilt in the datasteel, impaling and pinning anything in between the weapons and their final destination.

Oberon took a half-step back and pulled his hands free of the weapon-- and that was when the downloaded Sword data manifested, as a swirling cloud of blue surrounding both of his hands.

"Rachel, how many times do I have to tell you? You can dispense with the childish formalities."

Oberon's words echoed through Rachel's ears, though the Navi's visible mouth spoke no words as he started the end of the fight. He started with a jab to where the HeelNavi's solar plexus would be, followed with a hooked undercut to where the HeelNavi's floating rib would be, and then dispensed with any form of subtlety.

With a single deft motion, he stepped in, so close that his chest nearly brushed the HeelNavi's, reached for the Navi's throat with his left hand, and pounded into his opponent's face with his right. His face morphed from disconcerting grin into an openmouthed yell as he smashed at the HeelNavi with all his considerable might, aiming only for the head, going only for the kill, knowing that, either way, this would end it.

1: Predator's Gaze [10 damage, Slow, Take Aim]
2: Aimed Rageclaw [Pin To Wall]
3: Sympathetic Duplicity [60 Drain, Buster Crash 2]
4: Sword [80]
5: Sword [80]
Afterburner: Sword [80+20]
Its systems locked up, the HeelNavi could do nothing to avoid being pinned to the wall and pounded by repeated attacks. By the end of the last strike, he barely had a head left, but rather a ring of mutilated flesh where it had been, with blood data splattered across the wall Oberon had pinned the navi against.

Unfortunately, the strange stun bolt shot the HeelNavi had hit him with before locking up had caused his last attack to spark wildly, sending a current back through the sub and back to the engine room. The engine subsequently exploded, effectively rendering the back part of the sub nonexistent and causing the forward half to fill with water.

Fortunately, Oberon was able to escape the wreckage as it flooded, rising to the surface as the dead HeelNavi and his precious toy sank to the bottom.

Battle Over. GET: SideBubble2
As soon as Titania struck the surface of the water, her presence struck an invisible nerve in the weave of the Net and she vanished, carried away by ethereal pathways to a far-off corner of the Net.
