Junior: Getting Some Cash

"Well, at least you're back at full power now," Wes said, "otherwise, that would have just been more trouble than it was worth. In any case, keep going into the net, though don't go the same direction as that stupid tower. We don't need it collapsing and then you thinking you have some moral duty to fix it again."

"It turned out fine... Not everything needs a lot of profit to be worth it." Junior said with a sigh. He then walked off, taking Wes' advice and going off some way other than the one the mets had headed. Good deeds were nice and all but there were limits."

((Battle 9))
The sound of something like a jet is heard from behind Junior. Before he can turn around to see the source of the noise, a pair of Fishy viruses zooms past him, faster than the garden variety no less, and peels off into the sky. As his gaze follows them, he notices a quartet of Yorts diving towards him. A handful of viruses surface out in the ocean on one side, and a tank wheels down the road on the other. He could hear more jet sounds from behind him as well...

((Battle 9: Begin!!))
"Wow, this probably doubles the amount of EX level viruses we've faced." commented Wes, viewing the enemy numbers. He closed his eyes and sat still, trying to think of a plan. After a few minutes of silence, he finally faced the screen again and spoke, "Yup, you're pretty screwed."

"That is not helpful in the least." said Junior, "Can't you try thinking of some kind of plan?"

"Yes, yes I can." Wes looked serious for a moment, and then shouted out, "Run, run like the bastard you are!"

"While that might not be such a bad idea, given their stats versus mine... that's obviously a really stupid plan." He motioned to his left, "They block me on this side," he pointed in front of him, "They're blocking me on this side. Of course, I still have two sides left but..." He pointed above him, "then there's also these meanies ready to swoop down on me from up there. They have me completely outmaneuvered."

"You really need to learn to curse... though you are right... Unless..." Wes was about to say, 'unless we use the areagrab to get on the outside, then run," but he stopped himself. High level viruses would have high level chips. They also would carry high levels of cash. After thinking it over, this battle would be too good to miss. It would be like swinging a bat in a pinata factory with your eyes closed! It wouldn't matter where you hit, you'd still get showered in goodies. And then somewhere along the line, they'd also get a harem! Wes indulged in his little idiotic fantasy for just a moment before snapping into action, "Okay, Junior, the best way to survive is to imobilize as many as possible. Use the Sexy Wink to try and make those above you fall, then try wittling away the enemy numbers as fast as possible with the crap I send you."

"Got it... nice to know you're actually being serious now." Junior replied, unaware of what his netop was actually thinking. He then turned his gaze towards the sky and lifted his glasses. He winked once at the two enemies floating around in the sky, though he withheld half the power of the move. He then looked back over his shoulder, holding his glasses just below his chin, and winked again, distributing the last half of the attack upon the foes menancing him from behind. Now hopefully he could concentrate on the opponents in front of him... and beside. Though he hated to admit it, he was still at a disadvantage, "Okay, what else do you have to help me even the odds?"

"Well, first off I guess I'll send these Magbombs. They should partially fry those in the water and keep them stunned long enough for you to tear through the others. Then there's also the Dash attack. Use it to blow past the Yort and reach the other side of the field. Hopefully that will put them all in front of you, so that you only have to focus on one angle at a time." Wes sent the three chips.

Junior nodded his head and got to work. He held a Magbomb in both hands and he looked off to the side towards the water. He knew the bombs were inaccurate, but he figured that since the Larks were big and slow, since water easily conducted electricity, and since he was using two of them, he should be able to cause a good deal of damage with his strike. He threw the first bomb with the intent to land an intial blow that could perhaps stun the targets long enough for him to get the second off. Once he heard a splash, he heaved the other one accross the water as well, changing its angle only slightly to try and make sure that they were all roped in. He then faced forward once again and brought his hand up to face the sky. A green, hooked beak formed over the hand and he then aimed ahead and suddenly shot forward. He aimed his attack so as to try smashing through the line of Yort, traveling forward with enough force to brush them aside if he made contact. Of course, the with damage the impact would cause, all he would be knocking aside would be corpses, if he managed to hit them. Once he feet touched down again, this time on sand, Junior turned around, preparing to leap out of the way of any immediate counterattack.

Wes spoke again, "Okay, here's a Guard2, in case dodging in the sand is too much trouble, even with your AirShoes. Just stay focused and we'll get back to hammering them in a minute."

((1.) Sexy Wink, Stun, FishyEXA/B/C/D
2.) Magbomb, 30 Elec+blast2+stun1, LarkEXA/B/RaingearA (+20 to EXA, untapped power used)

4.) Dash, 90+Impact, YortA/B/C/D
5.) Dodge
6.) Guard2, reflects up to 120))
Junior's Sexy Wink has little effect on the viruses soaring overhead, as they are facing almost directly away from him. No matter. They continue on their broad aerial loop, and are in no position to attack him anyway. However, his over-the-shoulder glance catches the other two mid-dash, causing their thrusters to sputter and die as they just coast on at a slow hovering pace; both totally mind-blasted.

Junior's next attack produces serious results. His first MagBomb detonates, the blast catching both Larks and one of the Raingears within the spherical explosion, deleting the Raingear outright. The other Raingear retaliates, calling up several towers of water around Junior, but doesn't manage to hit him. The attack leaves the virus standing in place too long, and it is deleted along with the stunned viruses as the second MagBomb hits the surf.

Junior's follow-up dash attack smashes 3 of the 4 Yorts as they prepared their Yo-Yo's st attack, missing the one that was still moving. His immediate dodge at the end of the attack causes the Yort's counterattack to miss, barely.

The Catack lines up for a shot, and fires, only to have its tank shell explode harmlessly upon Junior's Guard2. The return counter-beam is anything but harmless as it stabs clean through the virus.

"Wow... you... kicked there asses." Wes stammerred.

"Well, yeah. That was your plan, right?" Junior asked, surprised at the response to his act. Didn't he have confidence in him?

"It was... but you achieved almost the best results imaginable. There where a total of three places where you could have improved and I was expected five misses." Wes went on, "And two of those misses were stuns... which I just threw in there to make sure you didn't bite it, right off. And you didn't get hit, so they don't really matter... making it more like one notch off from perfection. Holy crap."

"Well, just because I did well this time around doesn't mean I should take a break. Send me some chips." Junior requested.

"Right, right. Sending Mistconv, Markcannon1. Take out the last Yort and then the weakened Cattack. I'll send a few more once you accomplish this."

"Got it." Junior turned towards the last Yort. It had tried to attack him, so taking out that nasty little blade whirler would be of great relief to him. He formed a picture of a blue fist in his mind. A puddle appeared near the virus and the large hand he had imagined rose from the watery circle and, clenching itself into a fist, swung at the Yort, attempting to crush it in one powerful punch. Then, taking only a split second pause, Junior raised up an arm and reached out towards the Cattack, whose attack had reflected, putting itself at a favorable HP, at least as far as he was concerned. He projected a pair of cross hairs, which he tried to force upon the enemy. When the moment seemed right, he fired a blast of energy, hoping to finish off the virus, "Next?"

"Okay, this time I'm sending GrassZone, Flameline1, CyberRoar. After the grass is in place, try torching the two viruses still feel the effects of your Wink. Then use the CyberRoar. Try making them scared in place rather than scared and run. We want to take them down and reap the rewards." Wes explained, "After that, take measures to make sure you aren't hit. I'd send you a guard again but I get the feeling those fishy would just plow you right over if you tried to defend. Okay, now go and don't get careless at the last minute now."

"Of course." Junior said, with a nod. Even though the advice was apparent, a reminder showed he was concerned. With perfect execution in mind, Junior set the stage for the last leg of his strike. As he activated the data, green, living carpet sprung up all about his feet and slowly spread itself out to emcompass a decent sized area. He then brought up his hand, causing a wall of fire to shoot up in front of him a few yards away. He kind of regretted that he couldn't try hitting a third enemy as well, but the other two fishy were just too far away. Oh well, at least this way he'd have more than enough fire to do the job and it'd be more likely that the two he was targetted specifically would be caught in the attack. Junior relaxed a bit as the flames died down.

"Okay... now those two." Junior knew that he had left at least two viruses untouch. He turned around so that he could view both of them from the corners of his vision. He knew it wouldn't be long before they made their move. Trying to quickly counter any attempt on his life, Junior raised up a hand toward each and yelled, "Hold it!" He hoped his booming voice would be enough to convince them not to make any hostile action, at least for the moment. He then prepared to evade any incoming attacks, though he really hoped that it would be unneeded.

3.) GrassZone, create large area of grass terrain around Junior
4.) Flameline1, 70 Heat, FishyEXA/B
5.) CyberRoar, run or stun (prefferred), FishyEXC/D
6.) Dodge))
Junior's Mist Conversion attack crushes the Yort, causing the y-yo it had already launched at him to vanish mid-flight before striking, and his follow up Mark-Cannon attack finishes off the damaged Catack.

The Grass Zone changes the terrain around him from sand to grassy field. He then calls up a firewall between himself and the oncoming pair of Fishy viruses. The two viruses plow right into the wall of fire and disappear, with neither of them coming through the other side.

His command to halt stops one of the remaining two Fishy, but it unable to faze them both, as they are coming at him from opposite sides. The stunned Fishy, like the two that had been previously stunned, coasts along at a slow pace. Junior is forced to dive out of the way of the other one as it continues to barrel along full-blast. Once past him, it points its nose to the sky and takes off in a loop, angling back towards it's starting point in an arc high overhead.

"Okay, that all went according to plan." Wes observed. They now only had two opponents left. They should be able to take them out without much trouble. Wes selected a pair of chips and stuck them in his PET, "Okay, Junior, let's take them out quick. Sending Magbolt2, Firehit1."

"Okay." Junior said with a nod. However, dispite his note of compliance, he decided not to use the chips right away.Instead, he focused on his hands, building up power into each of his fingers. They each glowed, giving the illusion that he had encased his hands in some sort of aura. He then brought his hands up and together, aiming them as one at the stunned opponent. He then fired all the stored up energy at once in a pretty but deadly beam. He then looked up into the air at the other remaining Fishy. Now he would need to use chips.

Junior raised up one hand into the air, as if trying to reach the virus and pluck it down from the sky. He began to release magnetic waves which he attempted to use to pull the Fishy towards him. If he could manage to draw the virus close enough, he would then curl his hand into a fist and punch upward, utilizing a bit of hidden strength to make sure that the blow was lethal. Hopefully this would end things.

"So? Are they all dead?" Wes asked.

"I'll tell you in a minute." Junior responded. He activated the last chip, causing his fist to encase itself in fire. He took a fighter's stance and looked around. If he had left anything alive, chances are they'd try now for one last attack. If he did, he would try to spin around them as they passed and deliver a deathblow to them as a counter. The grass beneath his feet would give the attack just enough extra power to it that if it connected, it would end things for certain. Of course, if he screwed this up, he was prepared to devote the rest of his energy towards dodging, until there was a new plan.

2.) Magbolt2, 110 Elec+20+stun, FishyEXD (untapped power used)
3.) Dodge

5.) Dodge
6.) Dodge))
Junior finishes off the two remaining viruses. The first one is shot down with a volley of lasers. The second is smashed with a charged-up magbolt2 as the virus tried to ram him.

Looking about, the defeated viruses left quite a bit of useful data behind...

"Good work taking those guys out. A few more fights like this and we'll reach our goal." Wes said.

"Your goal, maybe. I have no idea what you're planning so I can't really say its mine." Junior said.

"You'll find out soon enough." Wes smirked as he replied. With a sigh, Junior continued on.

((Battle 10))
((Modlocked: Co-modded by PaladinGC, Harbin, and Bomber.))

As Junior continues along the cyber-space coastline, a cliff face gradually rises along the in-land side of his path. A little further along, the occasional rock begins to dot the sandy beach, eventually becoming more numerous a while later. However, what is noticeably absent from the picture are the viruses, as not a single one had appeared to harass Junior for a remarkably long period of time. There continues to be a complete lack of viruses, or anything else but rocky beach and waves, for several more minutes until finally something catches Junior's eye. He spots a glint of something golden by the edge of the water a fair distance ahead. Almost immediately the glittering gold thing moved away from the water, and was met by a taller, darker, and obviously humanoid silhouette.

As Junior drew nearer, it became apparent that the two figures were Navis. They were both custom Navis, and their individual appearances couldn't have contrasted more....

The closer of the two appeared to be a young lady Navi. She was short, standing at roughly 5'2", and had a decently slim figure. She was clad in a midnight blue bodysuit with a gold stripe running down her arms, legs, and sides. She wore matching golden gloves, boots, and torso armor with shoulder guards. She wore no headgear, and her blond hair fell down to mid-back. Floating an inch or so behind her was a collection of eighteen 4-ft tall golden panels. The panels were divided into two stacks of nine, with nine deep blue crystal spheres, each about 2 inches in diameter, floating freely above them (one sphere to each panel). Junior is able to see this odd feature only because her back is turned to him.

The other Navi appeared to be a well dressed middle-aged gentleman, and more human than Navi, at that. He was tall, approximately six feet, and quite lanky, with longer than normal arms and legs. Instead of the normal Navi body-suit, this particular Navi wore an expensive-looking custom tailored suit. The suit coat and matching pants were made of a somber gray material. The coat, worn over a white dress shirt, was tailored in an old fashioned cut that featured long coattails that reached down to mid-thigh. A pair of brown loafers and a black silk bow-tie complete the ensemble. This Navi also does not wear gloves, revealing human-like hands. His head is likewise devoid of any sort of headgear, revealing a full head of well groomed hair, parted on one side. His face is rather sallow, with somewhat inset sky blue eyes on his slightly gaunt face.

The two Navis stood a short distance apart, facing each other. They appeared to be conversing, though Junior, still some distance away, couldn't make out what was being said over the sound of the waves. Neither Navi gave any indication that they'd noticed his presence yet....

Then Junior noticed something moving at the upper edge of his vision. Looking up, he saw a black cloaked figure crouched next to another large rock at the top of the cliff. It was obviously another Navi, but as it was completely shrouded in a heavy, hooded black cloak, he couldn't tell more than that. Even the Navi's face was completely concealed within deep shadow. It appeared to be sitting there, silently watching the other two Navis. It's hooded form shifted slightly towards Junior for a brief moment as it noticed his presence, then shifted back again and resumed its silent vigil seemingly without any concern for Junior's being there. It sat there for a moment or two, then the figure suddenly shrank back from the edge of the cliff...

Junior, still a respectable distance away, looks back at the other two Navis, who are still talking to one another. He isn't close enough to clearly make out what is said, but is at last able to at least hear the sound of their voices. As the gentleman begins to speak to the female Navi, Junior notices that the panels that make up the blue and gold Navi's odd floating back accessory are fluttering ever so slightly, curiously like a nervous tic. The blue crystal spheres hovering above the golden panels began to glow softly with an inner light, and tiny currents of electricity could be seen running along the panels' golden surfaces here and there. Her questioning reply was delivered in carefully metered tone that let Junior know the conversation had gone south.

The gentleman, however, either didn't notice or didn't care, as he continued on his informal interrogation with what h probably thought of as a confident veneer, but it instead came out in slightly overdone tones. He spoke with the voice and posture of someone expecting an answer, but was slightly cautious in its wording. And---

He got his answer.... ((Scenario Theme))

The female Navi's electrically charged golden panels suddenly fanned out in defiance of all logic like a set of abstract golden wings. The 'wings', which were now awash in raw electric energy, swiftly swept forward, drawing at the air around them and pulling it along with a deep whooshing sound. That sound gave way to a booming, whistling blast as a metool-sized swirling ball of turbulence, laced heavily with lighting, shot forth.

The gentleman Navi, obviously taken completely by surprise, let out a panicked cry as the stormy projectile came at him with no warning. There was no dodging the attack... The Navi barely had time to throw his arms up and flinch in panicked reflex before the miniature maelstrom struck.... Which was exactly what he did. However, the projectile seemed to stop short of the gentleman. It impacted upon some sort of nearly transparent wall, perhaps reminiscent of glass, that had materialized before him at the last moment. The barrier absorbed the blow with a crystal clear tone, much like that of a chime.

The female Navi leaped backwards after her attack was away, allowing the recoil to push her back, her 'wings' still extended forward. She somehow flapped her impossible wings backwards and upwards, breaking her backwards motion abruptly and bringing her feet back into contact with the ground at about the same time the low-tome chime sounded. The components of her artifact wings then began to recharge...

The gentleman Navi opened his eyes and lowered his arms, exhaling in relief as he did so. He then reached into a pants pocket, drew out a conductor's wand, and then raised his hands before him, as if he meant to conduct a symphony. As he did so, four metallic silver spheres, arrayed in a widely dispersed square pattern, rose from the sand at once. The would-be conductor then gave the signal for a Concert-C sound test, which his orchestral quartet of floating musical spheres obligingly provided with an accompanying flash of light. With that flash of light, the spheres changed from silver to colored, and the ground area around them changed to one of four different terrain types; neatly dividing the former shore into four distinct zones. One of these zones, and the one Junior found himself standing in, had remained sand.

Just as the flash occurred, the blue and gold thunder Navi thrust her wings downward and shot into the sky. Her 'wings' then curved to form a loose circle of golden panels at arm's length around her body... which immediately began to spin slowly around her even as it stayed with her movements. And with it, the female dynamo quickly amassed a terrifying electrical charge. Electricity now flowed openly along each golden panel in sheets, danced across each glowing sphere wildly, and freely arced between all of the panels and spheres.

The conductor began to move, dancing across the field as he waved his wand in an attempt to 'conduct' his orchestral minions in battle. The spheres began firing colored sonic blasts up at the airborne Navi as directed by their conductor.

The storm Navi flipped all of her panels towards the sky, ducking the initial sound shots. She flipped them back to their previous position to break her fall a short distance above the rock Junior was standing next to, her back still to him. She then began readying herself to shoot thunderbolts and hurl ball lightning as more sonic attacks rose to meet her.

Now Junior found himself at the edge of a pitched battle he, for once, wasn't a party to. A battle between two strangers that had been conversing only 12 seconds prior. Not to mention he wasn't the only observer....

It was a strange situation indeed.

((Battle 10: Begin!!))
"Leave." Wes immediately instructed, "This is none of our business. We don't need a repeat of that battle with the net police officer."

Junior knew his netop's advice was right, although, "Yeah, but..."

"Junior, we don't know what they're fighting about. We could try asking, but then one of them could just lie to us and trick us into being a human shield again."

"Yeah, but...."

"Junior, I know you want to save the girl. I know it's just your way to try to help women. However, we know nothing about this one. She could very well be a mafia member getting caught in some kind of online drug sting. You have to sit this one out." Wes said firmly.

"Yeah... but....." Junior stared at the female navi. The blonde hair. The electricity element. The color scheme. Even though dark blue instead of light, it was still a blue. Even if she could be the bad guy here, he still couldn't just leave things as they were, at least not without confirming it. He tugged nervously on the few strands of blonde hair that hung over his face.

Wes's eyes narrowed, "Oh no. Oh no no no. You cannot be thinking what I think you are. No no no, you stupid little kid. There is no way something like that is gonna get us dragged in over our heads. No way in hell! We're leaving now!"

"I... can't. At least not without trying to do something." Junior said in a bit of a sad tone.

"............. Damnation." Wes said after a long pause. He let out a deep sigh, "Fine, but you're not entering the battle yet. Jumping in and fighting could get us marked with a bounty or something. Trying to halt the battle and asking for explanations is too presumtuous, plus we'd get some lies along with partial truths." Wes's eyes darted to the section of the screen he had noticed his navi looking at just a while ago, "Ask that stalker up there. We have no idea what he's up there for. If he's on the side of good, then we, concerned citizens, should be able to get the explanation we need to make a decision. If he's unfriendly, then we take care of the problem before it becomes a problem and maybe beat some answers out of him in the mean time. That sound fair?" Junior looked at the female navi again, still unsure. Wes sighed again, "They won't kill each other that quickly. Plus, if the dark guy really is a stalker, unless he's gay or really a girl, you can bet the one he's after will be her. So come on, go talk to and potentially kick his ass."

Junior paused for only a moment before replying, "Right. Okay, though I step back in if anyone gets near death."

"Fair enough..." Wes said, "Sending Areagrab."

Junior snuck beneath the cliff. It would be a good idea to get as close to his target area before teleporting. He reappeared a few feet away from the navi and snuck up closer, not wanting to give away the location of the stranger to the other two before he was sure of his intentions. Making sure that they were too distracted to notice him, Junior peaked around the rock and poked the navi in the shoulder, "Uh, excuse me," he whispered, "could you possibly tell me what's going on? I'd like to help but don't want to jump in and potentially harm the wrong person." Junior waited for a reply, though he kept up his guard. He didn't want to be too trusting and get stabbed by the one he was asking questions to.

((Areagrab used))
Junior vanished, teleporting away from his spot below and behind the blue and gold Navi. As he re-materialized, Junior found himself standing behind the rock atop the cliff. He also managed to land within arm's reach of the cloaked figure he'd seen earlier, as he'd planned to do. However, his plan to tap the individual on the shoulder was aborted by the tip of the combat knife held, at length, to Junior's throat. After a tense moment, the cloaked figure spoke in a male voice "... Sorry about that." He kept the long combat knife pointed at Junior's neck, but eased it back a few millimeters, taking the tip off the other Navi's throat.

Junior then addressed the Navi, politely asking about the situation and adding his reluctance to harm the wrong party. "... Looks like I almost did the same." muttered the cloaked Navi as he withdrew the blade from Junior's throat. As Junior watched, the combat knife disappeared within the dark folds of heavy cloth... However, the cloaked Navi's other shrouded arm shot forth and grabbed Junior at the collar with impressive speed that gave Junior no time to react, even though his guard was up. The cloaked figure then hauled him towards the boulder with a quick, but practiced tug. Junior, able to react to this, put his hands before himself, and managed not to collide with the rock face first as he was relocated with more urgency than grace to stand beside the cloaked Navi. The other Navi released his grip on Junior, and stood back against the boulder... Before Junior could take further action, a flash of light from behind the boulder cast a long shadow across the over-brightly lit grassy field before him, followed by the deep boom of thunder so close it made his chest rattle.

The moment the wave of sound had passed, the cloaked figure spoke to him... "Get down, stay quiet, and you won't die. That guy over there," muttered the cloaked Navi as his hood rustled as he nudged his head over to the male Navi fighting, "is Netmafia. Not your everyday grunt, either." The opening bars of an orchestral piece made their way to Junior's ears, punctuated by occasional flashes of light and accompanying thunderclaps. This caused the cloaked Navi to pause in his speech from time to time as he continued in spite of the clamor... "The girl... I don't know, but she seems to know another Netmafia guy. Why these two are trying to kill each other... An internal struggle in the Netmafia, maybe. I can only guess until I go in and find out. And with the way they're fighting..." said the Navi, getting drowned out by another explosion which seemed to punctuate his point, "... I don't plan to go running in blind any time soon."

Junior stood still, shocked for a bit. He wasn't sure what to do.

Wes, on the other hand, thought the situation over as quickly and as thoroughly as he could. First and foremost on his mind was this guy they had just encountered. He obviously wasn't a threat or better put, he wasn't threatening them. He had had the chance to attack them a few times in the past couple of minutes, so had he wanted them dead, he at least had room to try. That probably meant he wasn't an enemy, not unless he wanted to use them for something which wasn't likely. Assuming he wasn't an enemy, then it also seemed logical that he would be telling the truth. Sure, there was a possibility that was lying to either get Junior's help or keep him from turning on him, but if he considered Junior a threat, he would have tried something by now. If he wanted him as an ally, then that would mean that he was prepared to fight one of those down on the ground but right now he wasn't doing anything so that was unlikely as well. All and all, his logic led him to believe that this navi was either a.) just some random guy or b.) some Netpolice spy who had been watching the male navi when some other unknown navi showed up. There were a few other possibilities, but right now Wes would focus only on the most likely ones.

Now then, to consider the other two... The male navi was alledgely netmafia, though that still left the identity of the female navi up to question. If she was netmafia, too, then it was trash versus trash and the end result was meaningless. All it meant was on piece of garbage would be dead and the other would be weakened and left over for questioning. However, if she was a Net Police agent who was trying to catch the navi, then they'd be helping put away some self serving loser while at the same time gaining a favor with the law. Afterall, while the Net Police could be jerks, they were in charge so brownie points and some connections wouldn't hurt. The last possibility was that she was a civilian whom the Mafia man approached for whatever reason and now was in trouble with. If that was the case, they should almost definitely help. Without anything else to really base judgement on, Wes made up his mind. However, he would try to get a bit more information from this cloaked guy and maybe get his okay so that they didn't have any verbal or physical clashes due to differences in opinion.

"Hey, cloaked dude, question. If you know this guy is Mafia, would you happen to work for either the Police?" Wes asked.
"I'm just a mercenary on a job. Don't know for who or why, but I know I'm supposed to follow that guy." The cloak bobbed once as the Navi within it shrugged. "Not much else to it."

The sounds of battle continued to echo their way around the boulder, the two Navis unrelenting.

"So, you don't care if he gets the shit beat out of him?" Wes asked.

"Yeah, um... I could potentially assist that girl and delete him and you wouldn't care? Or are you planning on stepping in at the last minute, before the undershirt gives out?" Junior added. Wes sighed. Why did he have to make it so obvious that they might help the girl? They could have played it off as curiousity, that they were wondering how far his contract extended, but NO, he had to go and spell it out that they were contempelating killing his mark. Way to go! Now they just had to hope this guy wouldn't be pissed off and add another dimension to the situation.
(Written in Pally's stead, at his request.)

Another explosion rocked the battlefield, causing the cloaked Navi to twist his head around to get a glance of the latest happening. Unable to discern anything useful, he turned back against his cover to face Junior. "You... want to save the girl? With no knowledge of who she is...?" asked the Navi confusedly, failing to grasp what on earth Junior was thinking.

"Well, whatever. I don't plan on stopping you." sighed the Navi, shaking his head under his hood. "Just know that I don't plan on helping you, either. So good luck, and try not to get yourself killed." The cloaked Navi chuckled before turning back around to continue observing the battle.

((Just saving the original post for reference. As far as plot is concerned, though, it never happened.))

"It's... complicated." Junior replied to the navi's confused inquiry.

"It's... stupid, " Wes said mockingly and then added, "In any case, we don't have time for that. Your sister sent you a message so we should take care of that."

"But-" Junior protested.

"No way. You should worry about your actual family rather than some look-a-like."

"Miyu-chan did...? But... All right..." Junior finally relented. He spoke to the cloaked navi, "Well, good luck with your assignment and thank you for not interfering."

"Junior, walk a little ways off before plugging out. If you do it here, the signal might alert them to this navi's presence."

"Yes, yes of course..." Junior said. With a small bow, he turned and walked about ten yards off. With one final look back, he then left the area.

((Plug out))

"It's... complicated." Junior replied to the navi's confused inquiry.

"It's... stupid, " Wes said mockingly and then added, "and simpleminded. Of course, it aint my place to stop him, so whatever."

Junior sighed before addressing the navi again, "In any case, I understand and I thank you for not interfering. Good luck with the rest of your assignment." Junior made a small bow, then moved from around the rock and jumped off the cliff. As he fell, he tried to focus some energy into his feet, to power up the Airshoes as much as possible in order to make his descent an easy one. He still hit the ground pretty hard, though, and it took him a moment to get his bearings back. If he could somehow learn to fly, this would be so much easier.

Once he felt comfortable again, Junior slowly stood up. He knew it would take a moment for him to figure out who was doing what since he hadn't looked before he lept, so rather than get right into the action, he instead decided to address his audience, "Um... Hey, what are you two doing here?" he said, pointing one finger at the pair while placing his other hand on his hip.

"You jump out of the sky, interupt their battle without any explanation and you ask them what they're doing? I know I've been saying that this was stupid since the beginning, but damn it, did you really have to top yourself?" Wes yelled, "You should at least introduce yourself."

"Oh... okay." Junior paused, "Well... My name is Soulman_Junior.EXE. I am the son of Soulman.EXE and Ayumi.EXE, the previous leaders of Requiem. I also have a sister named Miyu.EXE. Nice to meet you. And your names are?" Junior made a light bow and then looked towards the two fighting navis once again, awaiting a response.

"Damn it again! I meant say something like, 'My name's Junior and I'm here to kick your ass cause I always look out for the ladies', not to give them your family tree. Why do you always need to be all formal?" Wes cried, slapping a hand into his forehead.

"Well, I was brought up to have good manners and to be a proper Electopian gentleman. Besides, you said introduce yourself, so I did just that. If you aren't specific you can't blame me." Junior explained.

"Great... you listen to me now." Wes sighed, "Whatever. Maybe we'll get lucky and you'll annoy both of them so that they declare a temporary truce, gang up on you, and you have to run, getting us away from this idiocy."
