Quick Bust

Enigma's DashAttack seemed to go at twice its normal speed, punching straight through the first N.O-1 EX and deleting it. However with its increased speed, there was practically no control and it didn't even touch the other viruses. While he fired his Flameline at one end and a Wideshot at the other, the remaining N.O-1 EXs counter attacked. One of them struck Enigma's swirly data shield and another missed completely as he teleported behind them to where he was at the beginning of the battle.

A large surge in the form of a data altering glitch poured out from Enigma and splattered around him all over the floor. When it cleared, the normal panels underfoot had a shiny new coating. For some reason, the air also suddenly reeked of burnt oranges. Weird.

Well, that sucked, snorted Ceres.

I think 'anticlimactic' is the word I'd use, said Enigma thoughtfully. Guess I'll hold back on it for a while.

Yeah, so you can win some fights, Ceres snickered.

Well, I think it'll be fun when I get the hang of it, Enigma replied coolly. Well, nothing else really worked well. Want me to harden up? Enigma asked innocently. At this, his operator began giggling uncontrollably. Enigma opened his mouth to make a comment on his operator's maturity, stopped to think about it, then realized he'd walked right into that one. You know what, screw you, he grumbled, embarrassed. Ceres continued to laugh, oblivious of his navi's protests.

Narked, Enigma stepped towards the viruses and closed his mind, gathering his thoughts quickly. Inhaling deeply, he let out a small grunt as all of the data swirling aimlessly around him was sucked back towards him, each pixel of data making a small ka-chink noise as it clicked into place. In just a few moments, Enigma had completed himself, and the data had changed from purple to a sleek silver. He wasn't just a navi, he was IRON MAN.

A... ahaha... laughed Ceres finally, having been all too amused with his innuendo-spotting. Oh-you're ready? O-Okay, I'll send some stuff, Ceres added, regaining his rationality slowly.

Finally, grumbled Enigma, slowly and deliberately raising his foot up and bringing it smashing back down to the ground with an almighty crash. A huge rippling shockwave sped across the ground, stopping and bursting straight upwards in a shower of earth and soil at the last N.O. virus in line. Hopefully, it'd stun him long enough to get deleted. Meanwhile, Ceres slotted in four chips, as many as Enigma could handle while he was tanking it up. Giving a curt nod to his operator, Enigma accepted the first chip, watching as his steely arm morphed outwards to accept the Zapring with some protest. Nevertheless, he pivoted around to the less-injured Twin and fired, watching as his data assisted the disc to stay in-line with its target.

Here's where the fun starts, Ceres grinned, apparently having completely regained his sobriety.

Yeah, Enigma replied distantly, struggling a bit to turn himself back towards the N.O. viruses. Equipping his next chip, a Shotgun, he decided to take advantage of the slight angle he was on with the viruses to his right and try to use its line-attack successfully. When he deemed he had gotten the right sort of aim he needed, he fired, and watched curiously as the usual yellowish energy pellets spread outwards towards his targets, but were aided by a significant number of silvery ones. It seemed that his Ironbody had decided to help out yet again. His curiosity peaked, he grabbed his next chip, also a Shotgun, and aimed at the viruses more in-line with him carefully before firing. Again, the normal bursts were aided by bits of his own data, in about the same amount. Interesting, he muttered slowly.

Yeah, PET says it does more damage when you help it out, supplied Ceres from the sidelines. Apparently those did sixty. Try the Heatshot out, it may do even more than that.

Kay, replied Enigma tersely, grabbing his next chip nonchalantly. Whether he wanted it to be that way or not, the Heatshot that appeared was just as weird as the Dash. Again, it appeared that bits of his arm were warping in and out of existence, disregarding the fact that his arm was less flux-y than usual. Intrigued yet again, he fired it, watching as the shot seemed to be just as warped as the Heatshot itself. Watching curiously to see what the shot would do, Enigma lowered his arm, then yelped in surprise as his arm shot upwards again almost like a reflex and the Heatshot fired again, spewing another blast. This one was silver, and it was definitely faster than the original blast and appeared larger than your ordinary Heatshot. What is going on? Enigma complained.

Wait, you didn't do the glitch yourself? Ceres asked, worried. I was just about to yell at you, too...

No. I don't know what happened, Enigma replied with finality, and both tacitly agreed to wait for the results in silence.

((Hiko. For the "glitched" thing, you mean Randomize, right?

However...no godmodding :<

You can't just go ahead and say "the bullet fire was much stronger" when you placed Randomize along with it!))

The thundering tremor sent shock up to one of the N.O. viruses and stunned it right on its place. Next, the Zapring hit the strongest out of the Twins, shortly deleting the virus. The shotguns were shot ablaze here and there, but it only deleted the stunned virus and damage two viruses.

Finally, it was the strange, glitched version of the heatshot that was immensely strengthened by Enigma's previous signature attack. The trigger was pulled and the bullet roared with earth devouring flames and headed directly at the N.O.s!! It charred everything in its path pitch black and the viruses cowered in fear as they saw death face to face, but surprised to see that the strength of the bullet could be compared to that of a gravel...

They began to retaliate by firing their colorful beams towards Enigma, but its extremely dense body simply shrugged it off with ease.

Just before the navi was about to begin his assault again, something completely unexpected occurred. What happens to be the deleted remains of the Twin virus suddenly began to concentrate into a single point in front of its brother. In a blink of an eye, the once deleted virus came back to life, thanks to its sibling!!

This was about all Enigma could take before getting considerably annoyed. Grimacing as he watched most of his previous plans fail, and already feeling weak-headed from the exertion, he snatched some chip data on his own and activated it, immediately receiving the radio he needed. Mashing down the "talk" button on the side of the walkie-talkie, he barked, Kill the revived Twin, before sprinting off to his right.

Woah, woah, where're you going? demanded Ceres, peering down at his navi nervously. For the more easy-going one, you sure don't stop to think before you--

The time for thinking was before the glitches started happening, snapped Enigma, skidding to a halt neatly beside the injured Twin. Send the Airshot, if you don't mind.

Fine, replied Ceres, his tone wavering between insubordinate, irritable, and angry. Slotting in the chip moodily, he frowned, knowing what his navi was planning but not happy with his attitude.

The Twin you're not next to? a voice sounded from nowhere, accompanied nicely by the putterings of an airplane engine not too far away. I can handle that.

Good, Enigma nodded, glancing up quickly to see the jet approaching as the Airshot materialized. Doing his best to time it so that the stubborn viruses wouldn't be able to revive each other, he pointed the Airshot directly at the Twin (a significant angle downwards) and waited calmly for his air support to come in. As it swooped dangerously low towards the ground and began unleashing its machine guns upon the other Twin, Enigma fired at his, watching curiously as some of his data extended outwards past the barrel of the gun to direct the air right to the chubby virus. Send the new chip, please.

Ceres nodded and grabbed the newest chip to their assortment without emotion. Investigating it, his first thought of the icon was that it was more like a battering ram than a head; by then, Enigma had already summoned the giant purple Megalian head in front of him, ready to strike. And indeed it did; without a word or even a signal from Enigma, the head lunged forwards, speeding through the N.O. viruses in three separate increments. Not leaving anything to chance, Enigma leapt around to the other side of the viruses, having completely forgotten about the chance of the viruses surviving. Luckily enough, what was left of his strengthening effects hadn't, and from his new angle, Enigma noticed that the summoned virus was significantly augmented with silvery data.

Widesword coming in, Ceres announced, not to be shown up by his navi's quick thinking. Looking slightly startled at his operator's intuitiveness, Enigma nevertheless activated the sword with a satisfying unsheathing sound. Starting at the weaker N.O.'s, he began slashing wildly, doing his best to make sure the battle ended then and there; again, the trailing green lines were thick in the air, showing clearly where the sword had gone. Standing back, not at all sure that he'd finished off the persistent viruses, Enigma held his Widesword out in the air threateningly and waited for his next outcome.

Quickly, Enigma's trusty shooter was summoned and positioned towards the one of the Twin. The navi also moved along towards the other Twin and fired the giant burst of air, instantly deleting the Twin. The AirRaid locked onto the Twin and fired its powerful machinegun over and over again, but, it didn't guarantee its death. The last Twin barely survived, with one or two more shots it could've been finished, but it wasn't. With last of its strength, it summoned its fallen brethren into the battle field once more! Both of them stared dead on towards Enigma and fired ball of black energies. The precision of the attack was amazing as it hit Enigma's defense and gave no chance for the navi to escape the second shot.

Frowning as the Twins kept each other alive for yet another time, Enigma re-activated the Widesword menacingly as he turned to face them. Seeing as they had moved slightly closer during the events of battle, he raised his arm to strike without a word, but before he could even get a hit in, bullets ripped through the area from his right flank, making him jump backwards in alarm. All he saw, however, was a winking fighter pilot swerving away again, obviously having anticipated his ideas. Arrogant sonnuva... Enigma grumbled, but then turned his attention back to the viruses as Ceres snored derisively.

Starting at his far left, Enigma wound up before slashing mightily to his right, covering the entire distance between the Twins in one fell swoop. Grinning wickedly, he repeated the attack once more from the right side, and did a few stabbing and spinning flourishes just out of boredom. His sword danced in the air, only visible because of the fact that it was green and glowed. Once he'd finished his onslaught, he looked up to see an "incoming chip!" message from Ceres. Wow, was all he could muster before rolling his eyes and swiping across his general area with the Bighammer he'd been sent. Overkill much?

Hey, I wanna get another battle in before the next round starts, Ceres teased. I can't help it that you're slow.

Remember, if I get EJO'd, we lose money, Enigma replied touchily, not at all in the mood for those sort of implications. Just to prove his point, he amassed a small orb of data and absorbed it dramatically, giving an exaggerated look of happiness as his negligible wounds were healed. Ceres just snorted and turned his gaze away from the PET.

Sighing, Enigma grabbed his reward data and plunged hurriedly further into the Net. We should have time for one more, he speculated, and Ceres nodded his head in agreement.

Oh, also, I healed for 45 in the last post, but that wasn't really addressed. Should I start with 140 or 106? =
((You're good, 140 HP))

Enigma suddenly came across a single metool, that didn't look any different from any other viruses. The navi proceeded to ignore and continue further into the net, but the virus didn't permit it. It kept on waving its pickaxe like a madman and kept Enigma in place. In anger, the navi simply kicked the virus away, but something occurred the moment he did.

The heavens it self split in half as a majestic figure appeared to float down to the ground. While the navi's eye was affixed to the celestial being (HA!), the metool who was knocked down suddenly got up and started to dash madly towards it. While it was running, it placed its pickaxe against its head, causing the virus' body to shine in aqua blue and changed into a fashionable spandex costume!

The mysterious figure was actually a gigantic humanoid mecha, with a noticeable yellow helmet with a blue cross. The Mecha's chest opened, allowing the virus to jump into the cockpit and prepare for some serious action!

...What did Enigma do exactly to get into this situation!!

-BOSS BATTLE, START!-
Upon encountering the innocent-seeming Met, Enigma's mind was filled with bitter memories of the Metool Hero, and so he ignored the small virus to continue in search of more threatening prey. However, as it persisted, and got itself a mecha to boot, Enigma frowned and backed up, uttering nothing but a bemused What.

Well, the Hero can't complain if it's got a robot suit, chuckled Ceres, obviously following the same train of thought as Enigma. Want the AirRaid?

Yeah, send me a Zapring and the hammer combo as well, Enigma requested tersely. Let's make short work of this thing and get back to the tournament, yeah? I just hope it isn't any stronger than it looks, he confessed.

It probably is, Ceres admitted before slotting in the AirRaid and a trio of other chips one after the other, each pushing into their slots with a satisfying click. Enigma nodded hesitantly before activating the AirRaid, unsure of whether he wanted to hold on to his most powerful chip for later or just use it as soon as he could. Shrugging, and figure he could just heal back from whatever the Met threw at him, he grabbed the data for his second chip more confidently than the first.

What am I shooting at, si--... dear lord, the pilot gasped, and Enigma wasn't sure if his air support just hadn't been in many big battles or was mocking him. Understood, the pilot continued, Firing at the robot?

Yup, replied Enigma casually. Meanwhile, he turned his attention back to the ironclad Met with a Zapring in hands, armed and ready for action. Although he knew it was an easy and a rather huge target, he wasn't sure if it could move faster than it seemed like, and so he took careful aim. Planning for the shot to drop slightly, he aimed just around the head area of the mecha, intending for the electrified disc to head right to the cockpit. When his arm was steady, he fired, activating his Areagrab before the Zapring was halfway to his enemy. Re-appearing suddenly behind the gargantuan with a slight smirk, Enigma grasped the haft of his final chip surely. This'll be the one time I hope something has Hardbody, he grinned widely.

As he prepared for his largest strike yet, the pilot zoomed in from the horizon, approaching the Met from the front and spitting out a good ten or so rounds before pulling out and circling it, hopefully drawing some fire from Enigma. On the ground, Enigma was already winding up the hammer behind his head, grunting from the effort. When it had already gone about a hundred and eighty backwards, Enigma ripped the thing downwards, cutting through the air ominously until it impacted with something with quite a startling sound. It even made Ceres jump, who had been zoning out a bit with the PET's speakers close to his head.

Wait, what happened? he asked eagerly, and Enigma just rolled his eyes and backed away, trying to be out of the way of whatever the Met would fire back with.

The Zapring crashed against chest, sending the surge of electricity to run through the mecha; however, it wasn't fully affected by its paralyzing effect. Enigma appeared just behind the MegaMet with the help of the AreaGrab and smashed a solid hit on the mecha's back, making a large dent. Things looked great as the AirRaid swooped in for the attack, until the mecha actually started to move.

The dent on the back was automatically repaired back to shape (However, the inner mechanics were still heavily damaged) and a flashing yellow eye shined with brilliance under the helmet. It looked up at the AirRaid, who was preparing its machine gun, and raised both his arms towards it. The MegaMet's yellow construction hat also shined gold brighter and brighter until the blue cross was overwhelmed by the light. The arms that pointed at the AirRaid clinched into a fist and quickly changed into a straight palm. Suddenly, large, powerfully written letters appeared out of thin air just besides the MegaMet, spelling out 'TIN BUSTER', and the energy trapped inside the helm bursted into a single golden stream, destroying the AirRaid into worthless fragments. The mecha didn't stop as the entire torso spun around and around, trying to hit the navi with its haywire lasers. But thankfully, the worst it could do was to graze its defense and left Enigma unharmed.

Frowning in disappointment as two of his three support devices were destroyed in one fell swoop, Enigma crossed his arms and gave Ceres a meaningful look. Now what? The Zapring didn't even hold him.

Go mecha, just like him, Ceres replied vaguely, taking delight in Enigma's split second of failure to comprehend before it dawned on him like a sunrise.

I just hope it doesn't mess anything up permanently, Enigma muttered, taking a step towards the MegaMet cautiously before closing his eyes firmly. As his lids sank, his halo of data was sucked inwards, turning into a purple black hole instantaneously. As opposed to solidifying him and turning silver as it usually did, Enigma's special ability instead chose to make him grow to an abnormally large size, just a few inches short of the mecha in front of him. Once he'd reached the appropriate size, his form began to complete itself, a silvery layer coating his normal purple with a brilliant sheen. Ready to send chips? Enigma asked his operator in a weirdly distorted voice, switching from normal to extremely deep at times.

Sure, fire it up, replied Ceres casually, the pun slipping into his sentence so subtly that it took Enigma a full five seconds after receiving his chips to roll his eyes. Turning to face the armored Met, Enigma smiled warningly.

You shouldn't have stayed. With this, a jolt of evidently electrical energy shot from his chest, speeding straight towards his adversary in a large crackling bolt. Meanwhile, Enigma grabbed his first two chips and let them assemble on his arms; they were Heatshots, but somehow seemed different than they usually appeared. For firsts, they were double the size of a normal Heatshot, as they'd grown to accommodate Enigma's larger girth. Second, there seemed to be small gas tanks running out of the back of them and attaching to the giant navi's arms, suggesting that there was more than just a heated shot in their barrels. To prove this, Enigma thrust both of his arms out and began firing with a small smirk, watching in a sort of sick, satisfied way as flames spewed from the ends of the Heatshots. The blazing data engulfed the area where the Met was hopefully still standing, obscuring so much of Enigma's vision that he had to squint to even see if his enemy had moved out of the way. To add to the heated attack, small lines of silvery data streaked through the flame, apparently strengthening it a good deal. After a few moments of searing heat, the flamethrowers began to die out before finally sputtering out of existence.

See, that's the kind of thing you should do every time, laughed Ceres. It just looks so much cooler than your normal busting stuff.

Probably, Enigma grunted in the same odd voice before equipping his next chip suddenly. This also appeared to be fire-related due to the cylinder's crimson coloring, and Enigma wasted no time in aiming it at the ground. A chrome, gasoline-like puddle was already in place, leading straight up the MegaMet's position suggestively. So, Enigma followed his own data's advice and fired the Flameline at the ground casually. A burst of sparks was ejected from the end of the barrel anticlimactically before it disappeared, leaving Ceres quite put-out back in the spectator lounge. However, flames were roaring again in a trice, as the sparks had ignited the flammable substances on the ground. A wall of fire began to form, mainly focused on the Met's location for maximum burning. Wasting no time in his assault, Enigma grabbed his last chip quickly, although maybe he shouldn't have been so hasty.

The MarkCannon, though huge as it should have been, was warping in and out of existence just as all the rest of his glitched chips had done. Frowning, Enigma aimed it at the MegaMet nevertheless, not intending to waste a perfectly good chip for nothing. Once the cursor had swung back and forth twice in his sights, he fired, feeling an usually large kickback for the cannon as an equally glitched burst sped from its barrel. Following this, a small put emanated from the gun as it spluttered out one last bit of silvery data before the rest of his strengthening abilities called it quits along with his chips.

You gotta figure out how to control that, said Ceres rather needlessly, causing Enigma to give no response but a small shrug. Instead of paying attention to his operator, he instead watched the field of battle carefully, wondering what would happen next.

When Enigma suddenly grew in enormous size, MegaMet couldn't help but to be shocked by the sudden change. The electric charge fired from Engima's chest was dodged without a problem, but dodging it left the mecha open for the next two Heatshots. When the Flameline was coming in, MegaMet quickly reached hit own helmet and detached it, enlarging it into a giant yellow shield. The heat of the flame was reflected, but the shield and Enigma's thick skin easily shrugged the damage off.

Engima's MarkCannon locked directly at the mecha's head and fired a disastrously loud shot. However, the bullet's speed was nothing more but a fraction of a BB gun, but it still made a hit. The damage was made, but the self repair system simply fixed it.

I'm still pretty shocked, confessed Ceres, that you haven't taken any damage yet.

Me too, but I don't have much of a defense now, Enigma replied thoughtfully. I'll just have to be careful.

The RiskyHoney should work fine, suggested the operator, considering each of the dwindling supply of chips separately. Aim to finish him with the Widesword, but we should probably use up everything else first.

Sure, nodded the amorphous blob of a navi, Send me the Wideshot and whatever else.

Shotgun, AuraHead, RiskyHoney... Ceres murmured to himself before snatching the four appropriate chips and slotting them in. That should knock him down to pretty low health.

Enigma nodded again and activated his first chip, the friendly and familiar Wideshot that had served him so well so many times before. Keeping his distance for now, he hefted the turquoise cylinder up to a height where it was in line with his shoulder, squinting down the barrel carefully. Lining it up carefully with the MegaMet, he inhaled deeply and held his breath, keeping his arm stock still to make sure his aim was impeccable. Satisfied, he eased back on the trigger, the recoil jerking his arm slightly as water spewed from the end of the gun, speeding towards his enemy with a sloshing noise. Not moving an inch, Enigma summoned the Shotgun from nowhere and held his breath again, noting with some curiosity that null chips tended to stay with his own color, a vivacious purple. Disregarding this and returning to the matter at hand, he fired, turning away into a sprint as soon as the spreading pellets exited the Shotgun.

He went almost a full one-hundred-and-eighty degrees around the suited Met before doing a short dodge-roll in the direction he was running, arriving somewhat closer to the Met than he was before and on the opposite side of it with an AuraHead ready for use. The Megalian cranium was poised for attack, ready for action, and when Enigma directed it at his adversary, it lunged forwards, speeding ahead with a menacing whistle. Meanwhile, Enigma already had a RiskyHoney at the ready, braced with his right arm and covering most of his body with a large honeycomb. It buzzed warningly, as if daring the MegaMet to take a shot...

I'll have the Widesword ready, added Ceres anticlimactically from the sidelines, holding the chip in two fingers suggestively.

Fair enough, Enigma murmured, peering over his shield to see what his enemy would do.

The watery shots, along with the next shotgun blast hit directly at the mecha, but that too was partially recovered by the self-repair system. Strangely, the MegaMet didn't even retaliate to the attack and slowly awaited for something.

When Enigma fired the Aurahead, the mecha finally responded and cast another shield! However, something strange occured. The force of the Aurahead cracked the shield, but it didn't pass through, but the force split both ways to Enigma and the mecha.

The MegaMet simply ignored this strange phenomenon and lifted its leg as high as it could and stomped to the ground. The shock traveled as far as the eye could see and the entire terrain was cracked! Thankfully, the shock was nullified by the RiskyHoney and the Bees managed to lay some damage.

Already beginning to feel the ground cracking beneath him, he began to instinctively run away from the MegaMet, not in cowardice but to plan his next move. Ceres, think of something, and fast! he snapped to his operator, who was already grabbing the few chips he had left and putting them into action.

Use that health-draining thing on it, and I'll send the Shotgun and the sword, Ceres advised, hastily slotting in the two mentioned chips.

This should be the end, Enigma growled, upset at having to run to not fall through the panels. Indeed, he was leaving quite the trail of demolished terrain behind him, and he was running out of room in his area. So he began heading back towards the Met again, crafting a small purple box with two suction-cup-like bits on either end of it. Once he was within throwing distance, he chucked it at the humanoid robot with all his might, trying his best not to lose his balance and keep his stride as he did so. He began curving to his right, falling into a steady inwards spiral on the Met's position. Soon enough, the crackle of electricity could be heard and small purple bolts were rushing towards Enigma, filling up some of the nastier holes in his body refreshingly. Not wasting any time in remarking on his attack, Enigma whipped up the last Shotgun and fired the spray in the general direction of the Met, keeping up his inwards pattern as he did so. The holes following him were growing unnervingly near as his curve grew tighter and tighter around his adversary, and so Enigma equipped his final chip with an air of irritation.

Whipping the sword out to his right, Enigma began slashing inwards to his left, where the Met should hopefully be staying and attempting to keep track of him as he circled ever nearer. The green blade hummed contentedly as Enigma thrust it continuously inwards, leaving the usual trails in its wake to trace its path. After just a few seconds of his frenzied attack, however, Enigma was growing tired of stabbing with a wide sword and instead brought his arm behind him and let the sword trail behind him, hopefully giving the Met a few good smacks before Enigma grew too close to stop incoming damage.

This is way too close for comfort, murmured Ceres in a most unsettled manner. We need a new strategy...
