The search for viruses and hot water

"Ahh, Yoka. The network of the hot springs. " Cala said, appearing on the network. She patted the ground with her tentacles. "A place where the hot waters will sooth you and send fatigue sailing away~ I think I'll try the waters once I get rid of some viruses." Cala said, looking around at her surroundings... not spotting any viruses, or any of the special onsen terrain in her vicinity. "Looks like I will have to find them myself it seems, and hopefully when I do get a chance to slip into the water I don't stay in there for too long. I don't want to become my namesake." Cala said with a chuckle at the end, before using her tentacles to push herself along the ground in some direction.
((Battle 1))
Crawling her way across the Yoka network for the first time, it didn't take Cala very long to find some enemies in her way to defeat. A trio of Canodumb viruses swiveled their turret heads in her direction immediately after finding her in their range.

"Oh hey, I didn't know they could also be found here." Cala said, looking at the cannondumbs positioned in front of her. They are already aiming for her it seems. Now... what to ask for. Cala thought to herself, before she heard something from her netop. "Cala, use this." She said, slotting in a needler1 and a rollinglog1. Liliana was sure that her navi would know how to use them this battle, even though the needler1 was just there for the navi to find out about it. After all, Liliana never told her navi she was trying to trade for it, since she wanted to keep it as a bit of a surprise.

"I see, so the trade did go trough, and I am a bit shocked Liliana. Why didn't you tell me you were gunning for a nice threat." Cala asked her op, pointing at the ground near her. An object much like what was pictured on the chip appeared on the panel she pointed at, and was facing towards the cannon. "Oh, this is so much better then Harpoon Crew. Sturdier, can hit more, and won't slow me down later." She said, as the needler fired a volley of needles at the three cannons. "Aw Liliana, I'm going to enjoy using this."

"Kind of wanted it to be a surprise." The netop said, as Cala's body move closer to the ground. Her tentacles started to move around, and looked like it was grabbing something bulky in front of her. It became clear what she was grabbing, when two large logs appeared already in her grip. "The person I got the needler from also has another object chip you might like, with luck we will run into something that we can trade for it during your trip to Yoko." Liliana added.

"Well then, I see no reason to let things drag out for long in that case. Better use both logs." Cala said, releasing the two logs one after another, letting them roll off her tentacles and giving them a great push towards the immobile cannons. Once the logs had started to roll, Cala made a "Come over here" motion with her hands at the needler, and her object began to move. It positioned itself in front of Cala, providing her with some form of cover. She knew that she might end up missing with the logs, and the needler could protect her from their retaliation. Even though she considered it one of her threats... at her level she can't be too picky about how she uses her objects.

Using a Needler, as well as a couple of logs, Cala started off her offense. The Needler's shots were spot-on, though less could be said for the logs, which only deleted one turret, and no more than that. Seems her aim wasn't as exact as she would have liked. The surviving Canodumbs did nothing more than continue swiveling their turret heads at her, probably setting their aim for her.

"Well, it seems like I might need to learn how to handle wood better it seems." Cala remarked, completely missing the cannons with one of her logs. At least one of the survivors is weakened by the needler. That will make things more simple. Cala noted, looking at the two cannons that looked like they... have her... in their... sights...

"Liliana, I think it's time for a cannon." Cala told her netop, calming watching the cannons. The fact that they had her in their sights didn't alarm her that much, with luck they would end up hitting her object. The object that decided to send another volley of needles at the opposing viruses.

"Alright, and Cala? Could you be a bit more, um, careful about how you say things? That wood comment sounded a bit... how do you put it..." Liliana said while slotting in the cannon. She was kind of glad that no one was around to hear what her navi had said. A harpoon gun appeared in Cala's hands, but instead of the sharp spear like ammunition that is normal in it, it was just some blunt rod. "I can't make any promises, but I will try to." Cala responded, She aimed the gun at the cannon, and fired the weapon at it. Cala took note of what the cannons were doing this whole time, preparing herself to dodge any attack that looked like it would hit her and not the object in front of her.

The Needle decided to fire off some more needles, and Cala fired off a Cannon. Deletion was pretty easy. She did get hit by a Canodumb's cannon shot, though, being unable to dodge it in time. That was pretty bad. (20)

"Ah, Cala, you got hit. You alright?" Liliana said, after the last cannon nailed her in the shoulder.

"Tis alright, it's just a scratch." Cala said cheerfully, shrugging her shoulder, her object vanishing as she moved towards the viruses remains. "Oh look, they gave us something more then zenny for our troubles~" The navi said, gathering the zenny and the cannon chip data.

"A cannon hun, it's not great but it's better then nothing at this point." Liliana said, before her navi continued onwards.

((Battle 2))
Heading further into the Yoka network, the squid Navigator slinked her way towards a more watery area, where the springs were popping up. At the moment, there weren't any warm waters just yet, but there was a nice river beside her, and the area seemed to have turned into an emulation of a village pathway. Of course, it was still a network, and networks had viruses. These popped up in the form of two Heavy and two Spooky. The latter were happily riding about on the former like a rolling log of sorts when they met Cala, and headed towards the offensive!

"Great, now I want to ride one of those. Expect I don't think they would let me." Cala commented, sizing up her opponents. The ghost like viruses didn't seem to have a lot of HP, and she was sure that she shouldn't underestimate the large dumbbells. Do a sweep and try to take control of the board, then finish off the heavies slowly. With my luck, using the logs could prove risky. The navi reasoned in her head. She did miss a virus twice with one usage of the rollinglog chip, and these are more dangerous then the cannons were, or atleast Cala was assuming that fact was true. But first, sweeping the field of some viruses.

"Liliana, could I have a board sweeper please~" Cala asked, figuring that her op would understand that she meant the needler1 chip. Even though Cala refered to it as a 'threat' in the last battle, it could also be considered a sweeper of sorts. And since half the viruses could be one shoted by the chip's attack, it would be of great use at this moment.

"Cala... you might want to say what chip you want next time." Liliana said, grabbing the needler1 chip and slotting it in. "I'm assuming you want this, but I won't be so sure when our folder gets bigger."

"No promise, but I will try~" Cala said to her op, pointing at the ground near her. The needler appeared where she pointed. The device turned to face the viruses, and launched a volley of needles at the group. With any luck, it would get rid of the ghosts for Cala.

Now, I think I will increase board presence at this point. Cala though, looking at the dumbbells once more. Cala pointed at the ground near her, and a large card appeared there laying face up. Sudden, on top of the card appeared two men dressed like salty sailors manning a single harpoon gun attached to the card, with several harpoons laying on the card next to the gun's mount. The Sailor aimed the harpoon at the viruses, and fired a single shot at them. The projectile flew with enough force to pierce the virus, and hit the next one. The second man on the card hoisted one of the harpoons off the ground, and started to reload the weapon.

Cala knew that there was no way this would have killed all the viruses, so she prepared herself to move out of the way of an incoming attack.

Summoning a Needler immediately upon initiation, Cala got her weapon to snipe both Spooky successfully, but missed the Heavy. After that, another object was summoned, this time a signature move of hers. Two sailors rose from a playing card, and speared both of the Heavy viruses at once. In retaliation, upon losing their riders, they went to attack Cala, teleporting to her position and crashing into her and her objects. Fortunately, Cala managed to dodge the Heavy, but her objects weren't so lucky, and were crushed to pieces.

"Hun, I guess those things are effective against objects." Cala said, looking at the aftermath of their attack. She wasn't expecting them to get destroyed so easily, so she didn't bother trying to buff them. I should remember to do all that next time. She looked back at the heavies, and started to think about what to do next. An idea she had from earlier in the battle popped back into her head, and the navi decided to consider it a little while I wonder... would I actually be able to do it? Would it even let me... Cala thought, looking at the two heavies. ...I think I have control of the field, so I guess I'll try it. If it works, it will be so much fun! Cala figured, a smile on her face. Just what is the girl thinking of doing?

"Liliana, give me the shotgun and one of the cannons." Cala told her netop, shifting her body side to side, adbit a bit more sluggish then what would be normal.

"Alright, but why not ask for a rollinglog instead of the cannon? Or atleast two of the cannons, you'll actually be able to finish them off that way." Liliana asked, slotting in the two chips.

"Oh no, rolling log won't be good for what I have planned, and just the two chips are enough for now."Cala informed her netop, downloading the two chips. Cala's trusty harpoon gun appeared in her hands, a projectile already in it's barrel. She aimed it at the heavy, and fired the harpoon at the virus. The harpoon was fired with enough force that it could very well piece trough the virus and hit the other Heavy. Another harpoon appeared in the grip of one of Cala's tentacles, and she loaded it into the gun. This one wasn't sharp or pointy, but was more like a long, blunt metal rod. She reaimed her gun at the virus after loading it, and fired the second shot.

After her two attacks, Cala rushed at the second of the heavies. Even though summoning the crew had slowed her down, she hoped it did slow her down so much that she can't get to the virus before it attacks again. When she got to it, she attempted to grab it with her tentacles, trying to pull herself up on top of it. "Hey, let me ride you! Please please please?" Cala said, grabbing onto the virus with her hands as well assuming she managed to get on. Of course, Navis and viruses tend to not be on good terms, and the heavy might not have liked this turn of events. Cala was prepared to hold on for dear life if the virus decided to try and shake her off. Of course if that happened, something of Cala might have been pressed against the virus.

A couple of quick shots towards the Heavy quickly had one Heavy subdued and the other deleted. As the Heavy attempted to roll away, Cala quickly executed her idea, and attempted to mount the Heavy. The attempt was denied, as the Heavy teleported away, and rolled off into the water. However, it didn't seem to move any afterwards. Did it mean anything...?

"R-Ride it!? That is your plan!?" Liliana asked, rather shocked by this turn of events. She had expected her navi to be trying to destroy all viruses, but this? This was something completely new. "Is there some meaning of this I am missing?"

"But Liliana, it looked so fun." The navi said excitedly, looking over at the virus. "I just wish it didn't teleport away though, I almost got on it." The navi said, pouting a bit. If using the crew didn't slow her systems down, she might have made it onto the virus. Now? It's in the water, just... sitting there. Wait, it hasn't done much after it entered the water. Maybe it would let ride it now... Cala reasoned. Maybe it would let her ride it while it's in the water... Only one way to find out. Cala made her way to the virus, propelling herself trough the water when she entered it with ease. Maybe she could convince it now?

"I'm sorry you got hit with those harpoons, I didn't mean for that to happen." Cala said in a somewhat sincere tone, floating around the side of the virus. "I just, I just want to get on and ride around with you. I might be able to patch you up, at least I think I can. Not completely sure subchips even work on you guys." She said, moving closer to the virus. "So can you please let me ride you?" She asked one more, her hands grasped together as she tried to looks somewhat innocent. Her tentacles attempted to grab hold of the virus' midsection, and pull her up on top of the virus.

"C-Cala, are you sure you should even be doing that?" her op asked, worried about her navi. There was no telling what the virus would do, it might even try to attack her navi at this point.

"Yay! Thank you!" Cala said in delight, giving the side part of the virus that has the face a hug with her arms. "Alright, first we should get you patched up. Liliana, could you send one of the energy packs?" The navi asked, still hugging the virus, her breasts smushed up against the back the the virus's head, at least it can probably be considered the head for now.

"Er what? Yea... sure." Liliana responded, a bit shocked by the fact that Cala succeed in her plan. Liiana slot in the subchip, which Cala activated and used on the injured Heavy. "Alright Heavy, it's time to have some fun~" Cala said, pumping her fist into the air. Maybe the virus would even let her name it.

"Hey, is it alright if I call you Vosrot?" Cala asked the virus, before it dawned on her that it wouldn't be able to communicate well with her. "Er... shake or vibrate if it's alright." She added, waiting for a response. After that exchange, it was time to go onwards, to ADVENTURE!

The Heavy bobbed about with a humming noise as it went along, seeming pretty happy along their trip. Either it didn't understand much of what Cala said, or it understood perfectly. It was hard to tell. Anyway, the river along which they were traveling slowly along gradually got wider. Of course, they encountered some "escorts" along the way, consisting of a trio of Piranha trailing behind them, as well as two Starfish along the coasts. [Note: The Heavy may or may not do what you tell it to, but you can certainly try.]
"Ok Vosrot." Cala said, some of her tentacles laying in the water as they went down stream. She shifted er body a bit, raising her chest up a bit before having it rest ontop of the virus's head, her arms hanging down the sides. "Just floating along... so relaxing." Cala said in a calming tone, as she just begun to relax on top of Vosrot.

"Cala, I don't think you should be at ease. What if some viruses spot you two and decide to attack? Or what if the one you are riding leads you into a-" Liliana was saying, before Cala decided to interrupt.

"Then I guess me and Vosrot will just have to take care of them, and I don't think he would try to bring me to a trap or anything... Actually, do Viruses have a gender? Hey Vosrot, shake or vibrate if you are a boy Heavy." Cala said, before waiting for a response from the virus.

And then Cala heard something behind them.

"Hold that thought. Hey, Liliana, we found some some aqua viruses." Cala said, looking behind her and Vosrot and spotting the three piranhas behind them. She also saw the two starfish neat the edge of the river. Having to watch out for attacks from two sides would end up making this fight a bit more difficult then her previous ones. But on the other hand, it does make it more interesting at the same time. Take them out one group at a time, that seems like the best thing to do. Cala thought, coming up with a plan.

"Liliana, send me the logs and the needler." Cala told her netop, before turning back around and shifting her attention back to Vosrot. "Vosrot, I'm going to try and take care of our pursuers. Can you try to keep us from getting hit by the starfishes?" Cala asked, before turning back around towards the pursuers.

"Alright Cala, I hope you do better with the chip then last time." Liliana said, slotting the two chips in. Two logs appeared, held by Cala's tentacles that weren't holding onto the Heavy. Cala threw both of them towards the Piranhas, hoping to at least weaken the three viruses enough for her next chip to finish them.

A needler appeared between Cala and the viruses, but this one ended up being a bit different then the ones from she had summoned before. This one was covered in some kind of coral, and was a bit more studier then normal. That masterwork ability should help keep it alive Cala thought, when the needler fired a volley of needles at the viruses, before it started to move to Cala and Vosrot's side, in an attempt to intercept an attack from the starfishes.

A hum came from "Vosrot" as it was asked of its gender, so it was apparent that it was a "he". Anyway, on to the fight; some rolling logs made their way downstream towards the Piranhas and knocked out one. The other was injured somewhat. A Needler was summoned later, knocking out the injured one off the battlefield, as well as injuring another Piranha. The remaining one started its attack, but its attack was not so accurate due to its injuries, managing only to lodge one of its spears in the Needler (5). The Starfish started releasing some bubbles, and hit the Needler twice (10x2). Vosrot attempted to veer off course to avoid the bubble, but unfortunately, it didn't roll very fast, and was encased in one (10), causing Cala to fall off into the river!

A bubble suddenly started to form around Vosrot, the surface of which pushed against Cala's chest. "Wh-what?" Cala said at this sudden development, which also caused her grip on Vosrot to lessen and allowed the bubble to completely push her off the virus.

Cala fell back into the water with a splash.

"Cala, you alright?" Liliana asked her navi as she got off her back and started to float right ways up in the water. "Yea, I'm fine. But Vosrot is in a bubble now." Cala said, before she realized that her needler was in one as well. [/]...And the needler as well, guess I'm glad I have it move back.[/i] she thought, thinking that the needler has taken a bolw hat was ment for her. If she had been trapped in one of those, things might not turn out so good. Also, he wasn't expecting that the starfishes could encase their victims in bubbles. Poor Vosrot. Cala thought, looking at him in his bubble. She might be able to pop it, letting him free. I better get him out, and take care of those starfishes. She thought, her harpoon gun appearing on her arm, already loaded. She aimed her gun at her own ally, aiming to get just the bubble and not Vosrot inside of it.

"It's time to regain board presence."Cala said, firing her harpoon at the bubble surrounding Vosrot. Cala lowered her weapon, and looked straight towards the Starfishes. "Liliana, can you send me that shotgun please?" She asked her netop.

The needler was trapped in a bubble, but it most likely didn't care. It didn't care so much, that it just sent a volley of needles at the remaining viruses, like a good object would.

"I'll send you the cannon as well, in case one of them survives." Liliana told her navi, slotting in the two chips. A harpoon appeared by Cala, being held by a few of her tentacles. She loaded it up, and aimed it at the starfishes that dared to trap Vosrot in a bubble. She fired her harpoon, sending it with enough force that it could very well hit two viruses instead of one. Another harpoon appeared in Cala's tentacles, this one less of a harpoon and more like a metal rod. She looked around as she loaded it, before she aimed the gun at one of the surviving opponents and fired it at them.

However much the Needler fired off its needles, the bubble seemed to be an impenetrable wall, at least from the inside. Cala attempted to free her newfound friend with a small harpoon, but it seemed that the bubble wasn't so easily popped. It did start to disintegrate somewhat with the shot, though. Anyway, Cala then fired off her usual harpoon and metal rod combination at the viruses, deleting a Piranha and leaving two Starfish pretty damn wounded. They took the chance to release some bubbles before they resigned themselves to certain death, and even then, they only floated off to hit the Needler's bubble. In the end, the bubble trap that encased Vosrot and the Needler dissolved.
