Trying not to get fried

Seeing her navi take a couple more blows and stagger a moment, Eliza slides in the recovery chip and sends it right away. Vixen tries to resume her previous crouching stance as chip data enters her mind. She chooses to not process it too hastily, as the virus is right in her face. Instead, the navi bobs and weaves as she moves around, trying her darnedest to avoid being hammered any further.

The moment she senses an opening, the fox navi quickly processes the chip. Smatterings of snow and ice blow over the navi from the surrounding area, clinging to and obscuring the parts of her body where she had taken damage to her write protection. As luck would have it, the recover chip would be just enough to get her back up to full. Now, if she could just avoid being blasted again, she would come out of this fight on top.

To that end, following the recovery, the stray snow flies off to create a decoy of the fox. Was she over-using it, perhaps? Not in her opinion. She was at a disadvantage in this network and if she had a tool to help her equalize things it was simply logical for her to use it as soon ans as often as she could. The decoy stood beside her and barked and growled at the virus.

The pair of them lunged at the Champu with their over-sized claws, though the decoy's swing wasn't really able to do damage, Vixen was getting pretty good at making the copy's attacks just barely miss or allow it's self to be blocked by the viruses. Her swing, on the other hand was potent and would hopefully end this shin-dig.

The little fox snorts and licks her paws as they return to normal size. She shuffles through the scattered remains like a scavenging dog and produces a fat stack of zenny, which she transfers back to her PET for later use.

Eliza notes the deposit and chuckles as she says "More legitimately-gotten goods. Mmm, have you suddenly decided to go straight?" The blue fox flicks her tail back and forth mischievously, almost grinning "Me? Go straight? What fun is that?" The both of them smile and laugh at the multiple meanings.

"So what will it be? Going on or pulling out?" Eliza seemed almost uninterested at this point. Maybe the excitement of her navi doing something different had worn off already. "We could go to an easier network, if you prefer.." Though her voice sounded a bit distant through the wireless connection, the smug and superior tone was unmistakable.

"My my, aren't you being the b*tch today? I do happen to be the one in here having to fight and avoid being deleted. Maybe I should cut out of here and go set off an alarm or two in your name, hmm? Perhaps drop off an anonymous tip so someone you have stolen from?"

Eliza scoffed as she held the back of one of her hands by her mouth and gave a laugh. Whether she was overacting the laughing villainess cliche on purpose or not was unknown. "Dah-link, joo know bet-er zan too be-trah moi" Yeah, it was on purpose, Vixen decided as her operator hammed it up. The little fox rolled her eyes and gave a stretch, before continuing on.

Eventually, Eliza asked "So sexy, why are you fighting in that form anyway? Not that it isn't adorable but-" She trailed off, not really feeling like commenting further. "I don't like fighting like this. You have no idea how it feels to suddenly loose almost all your body mass. I mean, sure I know how to move and best use this form, it's natural to me after all but.." She shrugged and finished "Not only am I nowhere near as sexy--unless foxes are your thing--but pretty much any virus can throw me around like a rag doll. It may not really damage my write-protection more but it certainly feels like it" The little fox nods sagely as she starts walking further into the net.

Eliza assumes because she is walking that the answer to the first query is 'yes', so she re-stacks her battlechips and prepares to fight. Some time passes with silence between them and finally Eliza says "So.. Why are you fighting like that, if it bothers you?" Vixen snorts and mumbles "This way I'm a smaller target, can hide easier and everyone underestimates me. Besides, I think it would hurt my pride more to be battered around in my big, beautiful body.." Eliza chuckles and shuffles the chips they have around a bit while she waits for her navi to bump into more trouble. She certinally seems to be good at it.

[Requesting Battle 3]
As Vixen came out of the park she noticed two drill viruses messing up downtown, overseen by an armored knight virus wielding an electric sword. A siren sound came from above as a small airplane, that was circling high overhead, spotted the Navi. The other viruses stopped what they were doing and turned to fight.

~Battle 3: Start!!~
Vixen froze, her usual cool and calculating demeanor interrupted by the crackling in the air and the smell of ozone. It had taken her three fights into Electown but she had finally stumbled into an Elec virus. She was confidant she could flee, under normal circumstance but here was not only an airplane, making escape improbable but also a pair of drilling viruses, making tunneling just as shaky. Looks like she didn't have any choice but a strait-out fight. Maybe if she could take out that electrical virus fast, things would be ok?

Except these viruses looked really freakin' tough. Tougher then she was.

The little fox kept on her toes, trying to avoid any incoming attacks, juking and dodging as she waited for Eliza to send chips. And that woman better, since this was going to be a hard fight. As if on cue, her shotgun chip comes through and she wastes little time in firing out a blast of volatile energy from her mouth at the sword-wielding virus.

There wasn't going to be a fight if she got fried, so she went all-out, snow and ice flying around her as not just one, but two other Vixens came into being (one on the left and one on the right). Trying to keep things unpredictable, Vixen and one of her decoys (the left one), both fired shots of ice at the virus, hoping to finish it quickly.

Vixen jukes and fires her Shotgun. Unfortunately her dodging throws off her aim and the shot goes wide. Then she activates her two clones and attacks with icy breath. She lands both hits on the Swordy just before it teleports, the two Drixols rush forward and the FighterPlane wails as it dives.

The Drixols rush by the Vixens as they all dodge away. The Drixols then disappear through portals and come back to rush through everyone from another direction. Only one of the two manages to land a hit... on a clone. It vanishes in a puff of icy smoke as it is drilled through.

The Swordy swipes its sword through all two of the remaining Vixens, but only manages to hit the last clone as the real Vixen manages to dodge out of the way.

Finally the FighterPlane makes a strafing run as it dives. Vixen, now alone, skitters all over the place. She manages to dodge all but one bullet, taking some light damage. But the wailing siren was even louder now as the FighterPlane, still in its dive, was making a kamikaze run towards Vixen!

Well, this could work out in her advantage perhaps. She mumbles "Eliza.. Need that one now..", breaking her usual combat silence as she prepares fast.

One rapid battle chip later, the navi pauses until the last possible moment before diving into the ground via her Mole chip. Let's see if the plane can stop in time.. Also, not wanting to waste even a moment for these drilling viruses to tear the ground she is in, she quickly tunnels directly to the left of them all. Hopefully it was a random enough decision that it would throw everyone off..

Of course, she didn't really have much time to spare so she figured she would make due with what she had and charge her buster up a bit, as she prepares to surface.

Hearing sounds of confusion overhead, the tiny fox considers burrowing away as fast as she can.. Or at least surfacing then sprinting away.. But while her write-protection is holding strong, she still has some pride in herself as a fighter.

Eliza assumes she is going to stay with the fight, for now and passes her navi the rageclaw chip that she has seen so much use from lately. As the data loads and Vixen's claws extend, the navi bursts from the ground, pauses to get her bearings and dives towards the Swordy. While she runs, a second Vixen leaps from her back, aiming to launch it's self over the Swordy, so the two of them can flank before striking!

Vixen is lucky and manages to emerge right next to the Swordy. With a quick slash of the RageClaw1, the Swordy is deleted before it can act.

Now there were two Vixens and no Swordy. The FighterPlane was still climbing and was now back in the sky. The two Drixols then began their attack.

Both Drixols miss as they drill through the air on their first pass. However, they then pass through portals and reappear in a different spot, drilling in from other angles. They were more accurate on the second pass, each striking one of the two Vixens. So as one faded to mist, the other one had a fresh wound.

Vixen tumbles back, bowled over by the virus. Her decoy wasn't as lucky, but it served it's purpose. The little fox barks in pain and frustration as she gets back to her feet.. A quick look over things confirms it, the electric virus is gone, maybe this fight just got a lot easier for her. It's far from over, of course, and by the look of the hovering drills with portals and the flying plane, spreading ice around the place wasn't really going to help things much--But it might take out some of that cracked terrain, she needed lots of room to maneuver and 20% of the battlefield being a hazard to her wasn't good.

Besides, she really liked ice.

The arctic fox navi's heart--or whatever navis have that passes as one--beats rapidly as she crouches low, trying to get a good stance again. The snow-white tip of her tail glows blue with snow and ice swirling around it, which she drops behind her to the ground. The effect is immediate as a cold snap spreads from her, a flash-freeze showering the area in puffs of ice and wisps of snow.

And she would be wasting one of the best benefits of her favorite terrain if she didn't extend her claws for traction and start leaping and bounding around the frosty ground, using the slipping and sliding to her advantage. But avoiding things, assuming she did, wasn't going to end the fight. She had no way of knowing it, but the viruses that remained were all pretty freakin' beefy. This was going to be a long and drawn-out fight that she might wind up loosing just because she ran out of ways to effectively deal damage.

Trying to keep moving and confusing the enemy, Vixen forms yet another decoy from the scattered snow and ice, the two of them leaping away from each other, as to not be struck at once. Maybe if she kept moving she could avoid that airplane while she fought.. Each Vixen rapidly runs towards a Drixol and leaps in for the kill, slashing claws far more powerful than a tiny fox should have!

Vixen sets her icy terrain and it spreads over half the cracked terrain and about an eighth of the non-cracked terrain. Then begins running around.

Vixen makes her clone again as she moves. A very solid choice for a Navi with few defensive options. Splitting up, each picks a Drixol and runs toward it.

DrixolA is Vixen's target as she swipes her claws. Unfortunately she doesn't land a solid blow as the Drixol tries to drill through her, twice. Both times are a miss. The other Drixol is more capable though and manages to pop the distracting clone on its first pass.

It doesn't look good for Vixen, sorely outnumbered and running low on offensive options as the FighterPlane circles above and readies for another attack run. But then a powerful beam of energy lances through the air from somewhere on the outskirts of Electown NET proper and causes the FighterPlane to veer off to one side to avoid it. The FighterPlane turns in the direction of the beam's origination and flies toward it angrily, leaving the battle.

Little heart beating wildly, Vixen narrowly avoids attack after attack, skating around on the ice to help her along. The laser firing through the sky catches her eye, as does the plane leaving.. She has no idea why that happened or what's going on but for the time being it's a good thing. One less virus.

"Tsk.. One of them got away.. That's less loot at the end.. Hurry up and finish it, foxy" Eliza certainly had a way with words eh? Sort of sounded like she was idly filing at her nails or something as she sat on the park bench.

"Go f*ck yourself you two-bit wh*re, I'm fighting as hard as I can here-" Vixen too, normally quiet in fights, also had a way with words it seemed. At any rate, it seemed to work best to focus on avoiding them first and killing them second so.. Lets try this again!

Using the ice and snow swirling around her and the ground, a clone manifests standing next to the arctic fox. The both of them nod to each other and spring into action. Vixen tries to stay light on her claws while she closes distance, using the ice to skid around and shift her weight unexpectedly, or she hopes, in her advantage. The fox is heading towards one of the viruses, DrixolB this time, to switch things up, while her decoy heads to DrixolA. If they can't quite make it, that's fine, it's more important to be safe while they try. Besides, the Drixols dive at them to attack so they could just wait to be approached.

Vixen danced and pranced around her attackers, looking pretty good out there! Although she knew, with the drill teleporting around, a lot of her dodging was just luck but best enjoy it while she could. Besides, Eliza didn't have to know that...

"Looking good out there, sexy", Eliza purred as she spoke. She eyed the chips they had left, just that hammer thing and a recover.. She wasn't exactly sure when or if her navi would make use of them, but no point in holding on to them. She drops both chips, back to back. Vixen gives a snort in reply, shuffling the chip data in her mind. Yeah, she would have to make use of it all, if she could.

First thing was first though. Vixen had had good results lately from playing it defensive and staying light on her feet, so she would keep it up. She opened her jaws and fired out a blue ice shard at the virus she had been clawing up, trying to give herself time to prepare to receive the attack from the second drill virus. Because, for a change, she wasn't making a clone, she wanted the injured one dead so she could use her over-sized claws to grab on to the other drill when it moved to teleport in at her.

She had been watching their attack pattern as she had been dodging around and they didn't seem able to shoot anything, so she would wait for it to come to her, and latch on! Or, that was the idea anyway.

The fox, not as sly as she would like to think, stumbles from the viruses blow. She wobbles a bit and digs the tiny claws of her rear paws and the over-large claws of her front paws into the ice for balance. "Tsk. That only.. Sorta worked" She seems annoyed, at least until Eliza adds "Hey, one less of them. Heal up and finish this, sexy"

The little fox raises her snout and snorts "Hmph. I would have done that even if you didn't tell me", which of course resulted in a "Riiight.."

First thing was first, the ice and snow built back up around her in a flurry, building a bulwark around her body. With a snap it shattered, leaving her data mostly repaired. At least patched up well enough for now. Next she growled and faced the virus.. She was going to try something a little.. Strange with her last chip.

She formed her decoy, as she had previously so many times. As her last chip flows through her, a long chain made of an icy-colored metal extends out of her jaws and hangs on the ground. While it's still forming, Vixen tosses the slack over to her clone. The heavy ball finally forms, just next to her jaws (on the other side, away from the decoy). The two of them then run at the virus, looking to clothesline, or at least catch the drill as it charges.

It would be awesome if they could snag it up in a manor that caused the HammerToss's heavy ball to collide with the virus, but the real goal is to snag it up in the chain and claw the piss out of the poor thing while it's entangled.
