All Systems Go!

Wyvern remained on her toes even as the blasts and attacks continued to drop around the battlefield. "Alright, there's only a couple left! Let's finish this!" She ordered, loading in some chip data. Z-Dragon didn't take the time to complain he immediately let loose with a quick cannon blast as Wyvern tensed herself in place in order to negate any negative feedback from the firing. She hopped back onto more magnetic tiles in order to keep herself mobile around the two remaining enemies, and then turned so the Dragon could take aim again. He fired off another shotgun blast and then let out a cough at the consecutive blasts.

"What, you want more?" He asked, looking to Wyvern. She nodded, and he bowed his head. He grit is teeth until a whirling blade of electricity formed in his maw, and then launched it at the Powies. "There. No more." He told her. Wyvern smiled in response, green glowing scales inching their way across the side of her neck as the dragonic data in her systems recovered her power.

Rokon stood by, making sure that she didn't draw any attention. No doubt watching her stand around was quite the annoyance to those in the distance, viewing the fight, but it was a legitimate battle option for them to all take. So there. Rokon sighed however, not being happy about it either.

"Mistress." Rokon said, coming up behind Wyvern as the Navi looked over the ended battle. "I do not wish to be pushy, but I no longer feel like I should be standing by the sidelines. My systems may not yet be upgraded, but it goes against my coding to allow you to battle by yourself." She stated simply, bowing.

"Oh? Well, that's okay." Wyvern said with a smile. "Next fight, I'll be counting on your support, okay?" She added, smiling.

"Understood." Rokon replied.

"In that case, let's go!" Wyvern cheered, throwing out foot out and starting a proud walker deeper into the network.

[Battle 7 Welcome]

[Small bump]

A ways past the previous battlefield, Wyvern and her odd party came across something out of place. A large swath of grassy terrain spread out before them. Cautiously advancing onto it, Z-Dragon was the first to notice the slightly camouflaged enemies where they laid in wait. Bursting out of the ground only to conceal themselves behind boulders, three Shrubby viruses appeared. Seeming to come from nowhere, a sizable force of fire viruses approached as well opposite Wyvern. The grass she stood on was getting more and more dangerous by the second.

Battle Seven Start!

Wyvern immediately set into action, transforming the grass beneath her as well as whatever she could cover into her own magnetic territory. It didn't give her much of a bonus, but it would slow down her opponents a bit and stop the grass from burning her alive. They were lucky that they caught the enemies hiding, Z-Dragon picking his targets as he blasted away with a penetrating shotgun blast twice, each to a different boulder. Wyvern watched carefully for a counterattack and circled back and forth in order to throw off aim, ready to dodge out of the way of an incoming attack. After a couple feints she called up and tossed a magbomb to the undamaged boulder. Green scales that formed along her neck made it obvious that her regeneration factor was activated.

Rokon, in the meantime, hung back and dodged around the normal tiles, trying to keep out of danger. There were few obvious targets so far and she was prepared to fight once things had cleared up a little.

Changing a large area of the battlefield into magnetized terrain, Wyvern gained a large advantage as she got straight into the action. Z-Dragon's powerful Shotgun blasts caused the enemy great chaos and disorder and all that junk. The viruses then started all-out attack mode, with OldStoves blasting their caps off and Spikeys firing their fireballs and Shrubbies teleporting and rolling their logs and oh my. The OldStove's fire hit, but was recovered from instantly. The Spikey's fireballs missed and Shrubby logs as well. The Shrubby had the Magbomb's stunning effects on it, causing it to become frozen in its teleported spot! All the other viruses had Magnet terrain underneath them as well, stopping them right in their tracks...

Wyvern did what she could to dodge around all the incoming attacks, and she was doing rather well at it too. If she stopped moving, there was no doubt that the assault would toss her for an absolute loop and that would be the end of her battle. "You might want to tell your pet to stay off our tiles." Z-Dragon interjected. "Now! These virii are ripe for the picking!" He ordered at her.

"Right! Rokon! Get onto those normal tiles and do what you can, we're going to try and go full-force now." She called, loading up a selection of chips. The Navi began by pulling her arm back in a pitching position and forming a bomb in her hand, throwing it forward before a second bomb formed as well and she launched it to another one of the viruses. "Okay Z-Dragon, your turn!"

The Dragon head pulled back and suddenly shot out a lightning-quick Elebee at one of the Spikeys. Growling low about how much he hated the attack, he then unleashed a wave of ice at the second one. The Dragon clicked his tongue once or twice in thought. "...Soothing." He mentioned as Wyvern quickly moved and rolled to stay out of the way of counter attacks as she naturally healed some of the damage she had already taken.

In the distance, Rokon listened to her orders and did what she could to get off the magnetic tiles. Once she had strolled to safety, she picked out the OldStove that remained and called her pistols, sending one of her small shots across the battlefield at it.

Boom, boom, boom went the bombs as Wyvern's expert throwing skills obliterated the shrubby and damaged the OldStove severely. The Spikeys were also dealt with very easily, and Rokon gave the OldStove one last breath before being deleted.

"Ah~, that one felt tough." Wyvern said, falling back onto her butt as the tiles all turned to normal. "We've done a lot of fighting, haven't we? Geez, there's really no end to these guys on the network, is there?" She asked.

"No, Virii are pretty much 'natural'." Z-Dragon explained.

"Don't focus too much on it, Wyve." Vita interjected. "You're doing good work. Every last one that you take out helps stabilize the system."

"Hn~? I guess that's good then." Wyvern commented.

"She is right, Mistress. You are doing excellent work." Rokon said as she walked towards the Navi. They exchange a glance and then smiles and nods, and the armoured navi flipped up onto her feet.

"Okay! Let's keep going!" She called out, hopping further into the network.

[Battle Eight Welcome]

Just as Wyvern walked a few feet away from where she stood, something was coming towards her from the horizon. Their steps became louder and louder, trembling the ground beneath the navi and striking fear to anyone who could hear it...

*Boing boing boing*

It was four Calvary-man, composed of Melodies as the mount and Swordies as the riders. The virus who stood in front of the group was a Swordy virus wielding a rather decorated sword while riding on an old, but a reliable Melody. It stroke its beard (Yes, the virus had a beard) and quickly pointed its sword straight towards Wyvern, commanding the three to charge in for an attack!

-BATTLE EIGHT, START!-

"More riders? Haven't I beaten a bunch of these guys?" Wyvern asked, crossing her arms in front of herself. "There was that guy on one of the note-guys, and then there were the knights riding the stoves! Vita, why don't I have something to ride?" She asked, a little disappointed.

"Well, I never really thought about giving you one..." Vita said, looking thoughtfully at her PET. "Actually, is it that important right now?"

"I would gladly serve as your mount, mistress." Rokon said, crossing an arm across her chest in a salute.

"..."
"..."

"That aside, shouldn't we be a bit more concerned about the attacking forces going on?" Z-Dragon said after an extensive sigh.

"Given the proper form of course, mistress-." Rokon continued to try and clarify what she meant.

"Well let's get started then!" Wyvern said over her, pointing in the direction of the change. "Rokon, you stay back and find some normal tiles, I'll worry about everything else." She said, the SP unit walking back to try and find tiles that would help her a little bit. Wyvern started when a wave of data crossed the field in front of her, passing by all the enemies as the normal tiles turned to metal and began to hum with a magnetic field. She stood her ground though, giving the enemies time to keep up their charge, and then lopped a single bomb high into the air. As soon as the Magbomb started to descend, she drew out both hands to a pair of forming bombs. "And let's go!" She added, tossing the two bombs into the incoming mass of mounted enemies.

"Haaaack-ptoo!" Z-Dragon noisily said, spitting out a high-speed Elebee that headed up and then across the battlefield towards the boss Swordy. He grumbled something but it didn't seem to sick as Wyvern quickly began to run to the side, rolling so that she'd have better luck of dodging sudden sword-slashes. Prepared to instantly recover from any wounds, her bare skin showed a faint tattoo of green light in the shape of scales.

Finding her way to some normal panels in the back, Rokon raised her weapon and took a pot shot at one of the mounted Melodies. It was a little disappointing, but there was going to be more for her to do in the future, for certain.

Starting off with a magnetized field as she almost always did, Wyvern threw out a MagBomb to short off the Melodies' reprieve. The Melody's agility, however, made that somewhat harder, as a few managed to escape the large explosion. The DoubleBomb that followed was also quite effective, though it didn't stop the other side's attack, which came fast and furious. (40 - MelodyEX/60 - SwordyEX) She did do a last retaliation with the Arrow, but unfortunately the bee was feeling a bit tipsy today for some reason.

Oh well, at least almost every virus was, too.

In the show of fireworks going off, Wyvern was unable to dodge the incoming attacks and they struck her hard when they did get through. The bump from the Melody and the slash from the Swordy tore her body apart and send her tumbling away from them. Her form was ragged as the slash had torn open the already weakened data on her chest. She felt sweat on her brow as a strong green glow crawled over her face and the gash in her frontal data began to slowly knit back together. "Damn... They... They came really fast." She said, wincing as she pulled herself to standing.

"Wyvern!" Vita panicked, the operator quickly going over all of her data. "Incoming shield! Put it up!" She ordered, slotting it a chip quickly.

"Heh... Yes ma'am." Wyvern responded, calling up the Guard 1 chip and pulling up the large shield that formed in front of her. She would be able to defend at least one attack with it, if she let the enemy get close enough.

Rokon clenched a fist and was ready to run to the rescue, but stopped near the edge of the magnet field. She couldn't risk wasting time by getting caught on them and helping her mistress was far more important. She called up a pistol and aimed across the battlefield, narrowing her eyes on one of the seriously wounded Swordies. She popped off a shot that hurdled right across the field and then returned to keeping an eye out otherwise.

Wyvern hid behind the shield and the long neck of Z-Dragon allowed him to reach up and over the shield and eye the enemies on the other side. "I would like some shielding too." He muttered, taking a deep breath. He let out a spray of energy in a shotgun blast at the group of enemies and then craned his head lower in order to shoot another blast along the ground. It wouldn't kill everything, but it was a lot of death flying around at the least. He didn't have much time to watch his work as Wyvern dodged any survivors even if her shield was still in place.

Meanwhile, the hungover Elebee, probably summoned after enjoying one too many energy shakes, was free to home in on his target.

Sustaining heavy damage from one of the mounted virus combos, Wyvern's first priority was healing herself a bit. As her wounds were repaired partially, her operator sent a Guard to defend her Navi. Wyvern pulled up the shield just in time to block a slowed followup sword strike by one of the viruses. The SwordyEX was pitched from its steed and deleted with the force of its own attack as the Arrow1 attack changed targets to the Melody and deleted it instead.

Rokon attempted to contribute to the battle by aiming a long shot at one of the weakened Swordys. The shot made a direct hit, sending yet another virus toppling off its mount. Soon after, Z-Dragon sent multiple Shotgun blasts flying at the enemy forces, deleting one of the remaining riders and significantly damaging several Melodys.

The remaining viruses were released from their near-immobile states after Z-Dragon's assault, but their movements were still being hampered by the terrain. One of the MelodyEXs began hopping toward Rokon, presumably to get revenge for its rider's deletion.

"Wyvern, that one Melody-" Vita said, taking a look as the battle data came in.

"I see him, Vita!" Wyvern responded, her spear appearing in her hand as she turned towards it.

"Mistress, I-" Rokon called back, aiming her pistol and taking a step back from the approaching enemy. Wyvern crouched for only a moment and then sprang into the air, crossing the distance with her spear pointed downwards in order to land and pierce the virus. The Navi looked to her program and gave her a smile, a faded green scale design on her neck showing that she continued to recover as time went on.

"Don't say anything." Wyvern said, stumbling a little from her landing sight and cutting Rokon off from anything anything else. "Let's take out the rest of them!" She called, Z-Dragon immediately reacting by forming a ball of fire in his mouth and blasting a spray of fire that promised to hit more than a single target. Wyvern charged back into close-ranged back, light on her feet and making sure to suddenly feint and roll to the opposite side. With smoke still billowing from her mouth after the last blast, Z-Dragon shot out a flamethrower that seared the ground as it passed.

Rokon didn't have much to offer, but she was able to fire off a shot in combination with Wyvern's own attacks.

Wyvern landed on top of the squish Melody with her spear pointed directly to the ground, instantly impaling the virus through its head and deleting it into harmless data. The heatshot was fired and it shot through the Melody, but this gave the Swordy riding the virus a chance as it teleported nearby Wyvern and laid a clean cut with its sharp sword. The last Melody didn't stand a chance against the next attack, and the Swordy that remained knew better not to stay in the battle any longer as it fled...but that was before it got a quick shot from Rokon.

Wyvern took some deep breaths and cracked her neck from side to side a little then raised her arms. "Well, that was a pretty tough one!" She pointed out towards the distance with her spear and was ready to take on the next fight already.

"No, Wyvern." Vita said suddenly, causing the Navi to freeze in place.

"What? Aw, come on, Vita!" Wyvern complained, looking despondent at the suggestion of leaving.

"We've earned a lot of zenny and stuff, Wyvern." Vita explained, setting up her PET to withdraw her Navi from the networks. "We should really make use of it, don't you think?"

"Well... Yeah... But I still want to try to-" Wyvern started.

"I know, I know. I want to see how far you can get too." Vita said, smiling lightly. "You're really impressive, but you're still a new." She explained. "Plus you're damaged and I don't have the subchips needed to restore your health. It's probably for the best that we take some time off and buy some new stuff."

"Well... Okay." Wyvern said, defeated.

"Well listen. We'll get some new gear for you and Rokon and then we'll hit up a different network, see what's available. Sound good?" Vita asked.

"Mhmm! I like the sound of that!" Wyvern said, looking back to her support program.

"Alright! Jacking you out!" Vita said, hitting a button on her PET.
