So... there are a few ideas that have come across in chat today that I needed to write these down for prosperity.
1. Governments and licenses - Theres really no change to the rules, would show that you actually passed an entrance examination or are good enough to actually enter Rogue Net or Undernet. We could basically have everybody issue a basic one for transportation and busting instances.
2. Skill missions - I had the odd idea of having missions we're we could have like a player navi replace Linkman/NCPtraderMan while as you train Linkman as your own navi. Could be interesting and spice up the experience...
3. Shops... well Licenses could be used to open up the Chip Store for instance, could be interesting
Missions, Licenses and variety

I suggested licenses a long while back, but I can't remember the response. Obviously didn't happen. I do think it's a cool idea and is a bit more realistic than just telling people they have to stay out, but it's not that big a thing, considering the current system works fine.
Skill missions sounds a lot like the Link Navi system from BN6, but in a slightly different context. It would most certainly be different.
And for the last one, what exactly do you mean by open up the Chip Store?

I want an important license because I want to feel important.
I don't think skill missions would be such a great idea. In case people RPed important characters doing OOC things or suddenly leaving and not coming back, etc. OR WORSE! Getting themselves deleted D:
"Linkman is dead. He's no longer here. However, in my PET, and within my heart, he lives on in me! I will put a hole in heaven itself. Even if that hole becomes my grave, as long as I break through, that is my victory! Who the hell do you think I am?"
The only person who wants to open a chip store is Robotek but having the option to do so would kinda be fun.

I want
There could always be random navis to use instead of existing ones. That or generous EJOs.
Running the chip store seems like it might get boring after a while. I suppose as a mission you could get robbed and use the super rare chips in the back to combat the robbers. You know they're there.

Licenses could add that extra layer to the whole RP, plus, it would give the player some feel of superiority over others :3. On the other hand, we need something other than some extra authority and chips. How about a special License Missions?

I kinda like the idea for licenses to enter Rouge, Chaos, and the Undernet. Makes a lot more sense IC then "OH HAY IM LEVEL 20, ROGUE NET GO". XD

I'm gonna throw my 2 bits in and say something that came up in the chat a few days ago, about gambling in the Colosseum during the tournament.
We have a net Vegas, why not have a NPC gambler(slotman.exe and "honest" Joe) who have "mission challenges"?
The plan is you go to the guy, who runs an underground "tounament" where you enter your navi into a challenge, and people bet on him, the further you go, the more money he wins, the more you get from from "cut".Basically, there would be challenges like
- no same element chips
- no chips
- no healing
- no sigs
- no navi custs
- no speed/hp upgrades
which could be done in any area, and increase and decrease your "cut" depending on the difficulty , as a kind of bonus after the thread. Say Void went into ACDCnet(x.1) with the challenge "no chips"(hard, so x4 since only buster and sigs could be used) and he makes it to battle 4, getting 400z in total. well when he goes back to "honest joe" he gets 400 x .1 x 4. which would be 160z bonus(ok, so numbers need to be worked...)
however, is mcstupid.exe goes into the undernet (x2) with no healing(x4) and no sigs(x3), then sure he gets x14 money, but he'll need that money to buy a new navi. if you get my drift...
anyways, lots of tweaking...

Where were you when I was suggesting this before? XD
But I guess when I did the first time it was only concerning the Undernet and national nets, which wasn't as important. I like the licenses because people would probably have I.Ds anyway, and this could just be a thing like that.
