Will 2012 really occur?

In 2012 the world will be invaded by giant lobster-spiders from beyond the sun. As it is written, so it shall be.
Alright, which admin decided to edit my poll options!? >_<
Admins can edit poll options?
They can. So can officials and probably some mods. I have no idea who would bother to do so.

There is no god.

Wow, you did not just say that.
Personally, I agree, but I avoid saying it in public, lest I be lynched by Christians. (It doesn't help that I go to a Catholic school.) Seriously, you cause a lot of drama with a post like that.
On that subject, I'd like the word "God" omitted from the No option. It just feels a little like you're trying to convert me, and it's not a nice feeling.

I say no, the world won't end 2012.

Eh. I say it a lot out in the open, I haven't been attacked for it yet and would openly enjoy being attacked. Also, I'd be more than willing to say twilight sucks big time in front of twitards.

Well, the Twilight thing I do too.
But I don't call them twitards.
I prefer to refer to them as idiots.
I would remove the God would not end the world thing, but all the Admins and Officials and maybe Mods have done to my poll is added derp :B on it. WHO THE HECK WOULD DO THAT!?
I didn't really read the poll before I voted. I just clicked on the first option, whatever it was.

I respect your opinions and understand that you both have good reason to believe in what you do.

I'd be one of those lynching Christians you're talking about.

Saying there is no God is somewhat foolish in my opinion because the concept of a God who communicates with and through us, creating EVERYTHING, giving us choice/free will, and powering our mental influences and thoughts provides meaning/answers everything we know.
If you just look around at our complex world, you can tell there is a creator, and that he does in fact interact with us.

2012, on the more relevant other hand, to me seems like a rumor/work of fiction that's prolly given a lot of people the inspiration to do a lot of crazy world ending things during the year.

Due to the random earthquakes occuring lately, biblically, one can say the end is near, however long that'll be. No one knows for sure. That's biblical as well.

LYNCHED! ~ <3
Oh, but I agree,
Twilight sucks.
Even though this thread generally fails, don't double post...

2012 scare bs

As there are those that believe 2012 will be the end of us, there are an equal number of theorists that believe and possess evidence to suggest the very opposite. I would really just put thoughts relating to all this to rest since whatever happens, happens. It ain't worth trippin' over.

Religious bs

And I say bs not in the sense of lying, but rather in the sense of ignorance. Those who are taught the ways of Christ, by those very creeds, are also instructed not to judge the beliefs of others, even if the so-called heathens are hell-bound. Hypocrisy is in fact the very reason I am Agnostic.

On a somewhat related note, I'm not a particularly big fan of any religion, as I feel they tend to follow certain trends...

-Someone develops a genuinely decent set of beliefs with which to go about their lives.
-Others make note of it, and thusly proceed to attempt at sharing it with the world.
-People eventually complicate the beliefs with sub-sections and multi-interpretations to the initial concepts, then create hierarchies of 'those more connected to the beliefs' so as to have 'structure' in the faith.
-Those in power tend to bend the information concerning the beliefs toward their own personal beliefs, and the inevitability of misinterpretation ensues.
-Corruption of beliefs is often bred from all of this, and we find ourselves less and less in a system of our own beliefs and rather more and more are we stringed and pulled around like a puppet to another's will.

In the end, we are more often than not in fact not 'guided' by a 'deity' but rather controlled by our own fellow man.

I despise this common trend of corruption, which is easily applied to events related modern Catholicism(misinterpretations could be connected to molestation) and Islam(misinterpretations allowed Al Queda to manipulate people to use as suicide tools). As such, I am fairly anti-religion, and prefer to follow my own simple ideals, which are as thus:

If I am genuinely decent to others, they are likely to reciprocate. This will not always hold true, but only a fool believes in absolutes. If I'm dick to people, they'll be more inclined to be dickish to me, so I'll try to avoid that.

That's it. Simple and sweet.

But anyway, that's my two cents. Hope I didn't offend anyone, but my bad if I did.
A person's beliefs is a person's beliefs. Don't start wailing on other because of them and understand not everyone believes the same thing, and we can get along better.

As for me? Could care less. What happens happens. I can't stop the end days, even if the end days involve a eternity of break dancing. If the end days don't come, hey, another day another dollar. Sure everyone will feel silly afterwards, but then people will get on with life. People aren't going to change one way or another.

Now, if twilight stuff replaces the standard definition of vampire, werewolf and other classic things, I'd be worried.
-Humans created numbers
-Numbers are imperfect
-Humans created the idea of God
-Humans are imperfect

Misconception leads to deceit, and deceit leads to people pointing their fingers at someone. So long as we have a scapegoat, humanity will never be ashamed to do what is morally wrong.

#2] 2012 is the end of Jesus' Era. Around 2012 is the time we are supposed to have a new modern Jesus.

Has anyone seen the documentary called The Zeitgeist? You'll find that Earth has had several incarnations of Jesuses, all the same people with different names. 2012 is an end to an era, not the end of the world.

Human are too stupid and too stubborn to die off just like that.
Silly RERN.

Everyone knows 2012 is the day right before we expire, so Galactus is coming to eat us.

I know. xD

And can a official or admin please delete the "God will NOT destroy the world <--- derp :B" thing? The derp :B thing is abusive of powers, and the God will NOT destroy the world is making this 2012 thread turn into a "Does God Exist" thread. ._.

It appears to be edited.

Also, yeah, don't bring up God on the internet without expecting extreme skepticism. Those who agree with you won't bring it up. Those who don't will harangue you to no end.
