10K Run

While his little lovelies seemed to be having quite the hard time getting any real footing upon the slipper glass terrain, DragonierMan didn't have such problems, and while the viruses were busy trying to figure out who was who, a barrage of powerful punches quickly cleaned the clocks of the remaining viruses, making up their minds for them, by deleting them.

"Good, we have enough bugfrags now to give your SPs the FloatShoes program. They will stop being subject to the horrors of Net terrain."

"Yay!... But we didn't get any ogre weapons," Suzume exclaimed in appreciation, then dismay. "Finally," Aya threw her hands up and then crossed them across her chest. "I was getting sick of all this sliding around. Literally," she ended with a gurgled cough into her hand, probably motion sickness. Drago nodded at the news, as it was embarrassing for his pride that his SPs were not able to look as cool as himself when fighting the viruses.

"So I'm going to pull you out for a moment to make a few upgrades, then you are coming right back." Destin promised as he threw the switch that caused the three navis to disappear in a beam of light.

[DRAGONIERMAN LOGGED OUT!]
DragonierMan, Suzume, and Aya returned to the cityscape of NetVegas upgraded and readied for bear.

[Reset: Requesting Battle 1.]
While the navi was ready to fight off some more viruses, he was in for a surprise!...A bag full of em...A bag full of surprises and bones...

To be more specific, DragonierMan and his SPs caught a glimpse of the GMD before it was swallowed up by one of the baggy viruses. They noticed the navi's presence and proceeded to spit out piles of bones, which THEN proceeded to shape and form into a pair of Skarab viruses!

The prize was only inches away, but DragonierMan sure had to make his way to earn it!

"Great, after we get the ability to traverse the ever-changing hindering terrain here, it becomes stable." Aya grumbled as the three ready their weapons. DragonierMan reached over his shoulder and unsheathed a wide-bladed sword as the twins twirled daggers in each hand. "That... thing just ate a data crystal. We got to save it!" Suzume shouted out as she pointed with one of her daggers at one of the bone-spewing Bags. So we can loot it.

Drago nodded before twirling his sword in front of him. The blade sang as it twirled in a circle, blurring as it swung faster. Round and round. Sparks leapt from the blade as it twirled. He aimed the spinning blade at the Bag O' Candy virus that had swallowed the GMD. The virus would feel a gradually strengthening tug and pull as the blade started turning into a powerful electric magnet. "Get ready. I'm bringing it to us."

The twins released their shadows as a distraction. Four blonde-haired clones leapt out of the shadows and rushed toward the viruses. They pulled shadowed daggers and threw them at the feet of the viruses, before running into the center of the virus group. Making themselves threatening targets, they began dancing around the viruses. Darting in toward a virus, then dodging out as they attacked.

Then suddenly, the magnetic field of Drago's spinning blade strengthened ten-fold and pulled at the virus. The blade whirled and sang a siren song as it called to the virus to get closer. The girls readied themselves for if/when the magnetic pull would bring them their target, sheathing one of their daggers to leave a hand free. Then they leapt forward as the magnetic field pulsed a shocking blast to stun the Bag. They dropped onto the bag and began clawing into when it laid slack-jawed, trying to free/activate the GMD from its maw.

Dispelling the electric field from his blade, Drago also strode forward and tried to root around for the GMD. The clawed-gauntlet plunging at the open maw to break in. Groping around in the darkness for the GMD. If they couldn't extract it before they activated it, they would activate it from inside the virus, then try to extract the reward.

He then pulled back and slashed at the Bag's stomach, intent on spilling its innards all over the Net floor and freeing the rewards. It rang once more as its edge bit and slashed at the air. Slashing a wide swath across the air. Drago's muscles bulged and lent more power to his blow, causing the sword to grow and widen, punching through to the other side, and striking at the other Bag O' Candy. The blade glowing in the light of the Solar panels as it swung through the air in a deadly arc.

Pulling his blade back he set himself into a defensive stance. He shifted his feet as he brought the edge of his sword up to deflect the thrown bones of his enemies. He weaved his body closer as the shadow clones ran amuck among the viruses. Keeping his eyes on the weapons of his enemies.

The viruses were quickly caught off guard by the mob of girls suddenly attacking them, especially the Bag virus that was suddenly stringed on by Dragonier's MagBolt. The virus was horribly "violated" by the Navi and the twin, it tried to break out from it by firing out its high velocity candy all over the place, landing one right onto Dragoiner's chin! Ouch!

Luckily, they successfully salvaged the GMD out from the virus and the navi did the job to cut it down with his sword... While its reach didn't quite make it to the other Bag O' Candy virus.

The decoys were doing a fine job at distracting the Skarabs, confused about who to attack and who was simply fake. Their instinct simply led them to attack anything that was moving, including the decoy and the real deal, and began to hurl their sturdy bones here and there. Unfortunately, their little game of chance paid off when the spinning bone hit across Suzume's head, giving her a nasty bruise along with some mind-spinning concussion!

MYSTERY DATA DECRYPTED:
2,000z
They had succeeded and gained a hefty reward... Then took some hefty blows in retaliation.

DragonierMan was uppercut by some high-velocity candy, causing a nasty dent in his chin guard. Destin looked at his PET and gaped as Drago lost about a third of his health in one fell swoop. It was like taking an attack from a battlechip. Drago sputtered backward for a moment before slashing into the virus with his sword and emptying the rest of the candy-innards onto the floor.

Suzume was also sent reeling from a spinning bone to the noggin. She stumbled around for a moment and gripped her head as her sister ran over to her. "Suzume! Are you all right?" she asked as their clones kept up their distractions around them. Although Suzume's clones began to look as if they were dizzy too, making sloppy attempts at attack and defense.

Drago planted a booted foot into the ground in front of him and let out a mighty roar. He would not be defeated by candy and bones! The dents in his armor popped back into place and the bruise on his chin began to knit through sheer force of fortitude and will as the navi began stomping forward to fight his remaining foes. Fire burned in his eyes and steam poured from the joints in his armor.

Suzume looked up at Aya, and Aya, and Aya... "I didn't know that we were quadruplets," Suzume swooned as her head continued to spin. Aya gripped Suzume to stabilize her, "Suzume snap out of it!" This was bad, they were still in the middle of a battle after all, and it was no time to lose your head. She placed her hands on either side of her sister's face and closed her eyes. Dark magic flowed from Aya's fingertips and spread throughout Suzume's head, knitting the damaged skin and fading the bruises. Though she could heal her sister's physical wounds immediately, the mental trauma would take a moment more to recover from.

Drago unsheathed another sword and charged into the group of viruses, barreling through all attacks in his heavy armor. He slid to a halt among them and began spinning around like a tornado filled with razors, slicing and dicing at the viruses. His blades swiped in wide arcs, singing through the breeze, and baring down upon hard and soft virus hides alike with sickening squelching noises. The wind whipped around him in a frenzy as the navi snarled and slashed at everyone and everything in his path. As one blade shattered, he pressed the other on, moaning its own dirge of death until it shattered as well. Leaving him unarmed and surrounded by the shards of his swords.

Due to Suzume's confusion, the her decoys wasn't acting as it was commanded as they simply veered off the battlefield to mind their own business, leaving Dragonier and Aya to do the job for now. They were able to mend their wounds, but the viruses began their own attack first!

They threw their bones and candies at whatever they can find, but luck would have it, they all threw it towards the decoys! Dragonier rushed in for the attack and attacked with his array of swords, but the Skarabs were trickier than others. The first Skarab dodged the empowered Moonblade, while the second was hit with by the same, yet original blade that made it collapse into a pile of bone.

The intact Skarab then proceeded to dodge the next WideSword, but finally fell to the final slash, also making it collapse into a pile of bone.

As all of this happened, the poor Bag O' Candy never stood a chance...

"Hey get back here!" Suzume called out to her wandering clones as her head cleared and she noticed they were far away and not doing their job as decoys. Aya and her clones stopped and shook their heads. Drago meanwhile dusted off his hands as the last viruses crumbled into a pile of useless bones. Victory. That was until his operator chimed in.

"Hold up. I'm still reading some active virus codes. Stay alert down there," he warned. Drago looked around in confusion. What could have possibly survived his awesome attacks?... But then he saw the bone piles twitch.

Drago balled his fingers into meaty fists and waited for his opponents to rise again just so he could batter them back down. He raised his fists in a boxer's stance and shifted closer, and closer to the corpses, readying himself for a slick sidestep, followed by a one-two to his opponents.

When he saw them rise, he shot out a fast jab at one. Punching at the gut. Then whipped to the side and backhanded the second to the face. Crushing bone. Then he turned and ducked, punching the first in the hip. Aiming where the kidneys would be if the virus was flesh. Followed by a shift of the feet and an uppercut to the jaw of the second one again. Sending it reeling if struck.

Meanwhile, Aya and Suzume tried to gather their clones together and keep out of the fight.

Dusting the bone dust off his hands, DragonierMan and SPs root around for more loot. Drago's face ticked when he found a piece of candy with an unlit fuse. He quickly sent the abomination away to Destin's PET and walked away from the whole scene. Suzume and Aya chasing after him after they had filled their sacks with money and bugfrags.

[Requesting Battle 2.]
Venturing further into the colorful network, the trio who were probably enjoying the sights and colors of Netvegas were in for a shock. As suddenly a blinding flash filled the area, and in a heartbeat the once varied and vibrant terrain became dull and uniform.

The cause of course was easy to see, as up ahead, a small hole seemed to open as an odd little puppy flipped out of it into view to stand on one paw before rolling itself forward back into the hold to stand half hidden away inside. And while that might have been a strange sight, perhaps stranger was it came with an entourage of viruses following closely behind it.

There was a bright side to that flash however, as it had revealed on the very edge of the battlefield, a glowing gemstone, just waiting to be taken.

The glint of a GMD caught the girls' eyes. "Get it before it's swallowed!" Aya exclaimed just before the two girls made a mad dash towards the glowing crystal. They both split into three bodies as they sprinted across the dull field, giving them three times the reaching power. Even if the clones couldn't technically manipulate items, they would provide tempting targets so that the twins could reach the crystal. They wouldn't let this gem be eaten by some gluttonous virus.

Meanwhile, as the two SPs tried to loot the GMD before something bad could happen to it, DragonierMan ran forward to engage the viruses. As his feet ate up the ground he unfurled a wicked multilayered whip from within his cloak. He lashed out with the barbed whip against the dog virus, raking the area with nonuplet blades. The cat-o'-nine reached for the Rush as a squid with an extra tentacle snagging at a fish. With each tentacle segmented by a dozen sharp talons.

Drago drew back and spun around in a circle after the first strike. Using the momentum from the spin, he cast out again to entangle the dog in a net of razor-wire. The blades fell like vipers upon the creature, biting and tearing with their piercing fangs. They snaked and slithered around, entangling and cutting deep. Eventually the varitails became a unusable mess on the ground, and Drago let it drop from his fingers.

Energy welled within Drago as he took a defensive stance. He shifted his feet and brought a balled fist up as it began to glow with an inner light. He watched the other viruses and dared them to attack him, growling the challenge as he stared into their eyes. Energy welling to his fists. A strike by them would cause him to catapult himself at the offender, delivering a souped-up fist to their face.

Then his legs grew taught, and released. He dashed at the virus with the nice hat, trying to bowl it over. The air whipped around him as his boots pounded the ground, snagging his cloak and causing it to billow behind him. His feet carrying him quickly across the battlefield in stride. His aura condensed into a battering ram before he struck, smashing at the virus with enough force to delete it.

And he continued to run. Sliding to change direction, he rushed the tanks. Hunching behind his shoulder pauldron, the navi leaned his weight into the charge. His legs ate up the ground once more as he charged, bridging the gap between them in a matter of moments. Leaning hard, he attempted to cut a swath through the two plated virii, bashing them with his armored shoulder.

As the crew divided up to conquer, DragonierMan set about with the first assault, sending his mighty lashing whip out to try and strike down the dog virus. Which as it turned out was surprisingly nimble as it ducked and dodged several of the lashes, only to finally be struck. But after taking that first snap of one of the strikes, it disappeared down into the hole that promptly sealed back up. Leaving the navi a little surprised, but none the less ready for it to return, where he promptly gave it another lashing, sending it off into hiding again.

Tired of his fight against the canine he turned upon the others, and in two blurring charges, easily crushed through and destroyed them with little trouble.

His SP's seemed to at least have little trouble reaching the GMD while their navi took down the threat, and both girls tapped it together in a tie, which shattered the crystal, leaving behind the traces of a new type of battlechip for them to take as spoils of war. Though the battle was far from over it seemed, as the canine popped itself back up into view, showing it was still quite alive, and seemed to be having fun playing with the navi.

Drago's face reddened. "You dare mock me! Aya, Suzume, spread out and don't let it escape." He moved with purpose towards the tunneling canine as he barked out commands, bunching his fingers together into heavy fists. Aya and Suzume, fresh and giddy from their recent acquisition, spread out several strides from Drago and readied their own daggers. Their smiles faded as they were brought back to the reality of corralling the critter. Becoming all business again. They could celebrate later.

As Drago charged the virus and brought one of his heavy fists down in a smashing blow, Aya and Suzume watched attentively. They motioned for their clones to spread out and hedge the virus in. They had seen the creature burrow before and pop up in a different place each time Drago struck at it, and they also saw how slippery it was. They would probably only get a moment's notice to strike. They glanced at each other for a moment as Drago raged across the field, chasing the Rush, and exchanged a quick eye and brow flutter. It was decided. Aya would take the first strike.

Aya let the dagger slip out to her fingertips and gripped the dagger's blade tentatively in her delicate fingers. Pommel pointed to the sky, she watched for the moment in which the Rush popped up from its hole. Then in a practiced motion, she flicked her wrist and sent the blade spinning at her target, end over end. She reached down with her other hand and drew another dagger from one of her many sheaths, as Suzume drew back her own arm.

Suzume braced her legs and took aim at the prairie dog. She watched it as it retreated back into its hole at the constant assault of Drago, as he continued to chase down the pug, smashing the ground with his heavy-handed fists. She waited until it emerged again, shifting her feet and following any trail she could see until it popped back up. Adjusting her aim so as not to hit Drago, as he pounded across the ground, she threw her own dagger at the virus as it emerged. It pierced through the air as it lanced towards its target, Suzume hoped for the killing blow.

Drago meanwhile yelled and cursed at the virus as he chased it across the battlefield, stomping the ground with his boots and smashing at it with his fists. There were no tactics involved, he just reacted to wherever it popped up, storming from one place to the next. The ground became pock-marked from all the blows raining down upon it.

The canine seemed almost completely content to toy and play with the navi, ducking back into its hole which sealed away mere moments before the knight's fist smashed against the panel. And while the twins did their best to try and box the creature it, it seemed a useless effort as it could seemingly appear wherever it wished. Which meant easily avoiding the constant powerful punches of the knight, though it seemed at least one of the girl's had gotten a lucky strike, as a quick toss of Aya's dagger seemed it hit home, suddenly striking the K-9 which brought a loud yelp from it as it ducked once more out of the way of yet another dagger and punch. Popping up off near the edge of the battlefield only to do a handstand and stick its tongue out mockingly at the trio.

Steam shot out of Drago's ears as he was mocked by the virus. He banged his fists together in frustration and to pump himself up. Sparks erupted from his fingertips and spread around his gauntlets, creating two powerful electromagnets. If he couldn't smash this creature due to its nimbleness, he would paralyze it... Then smash it.

All three navis watched the creature's movements. Drago extended the magnetic field out to ensnare the Rush and draw it closer. Noticing the familiar hazy air, and their hair standing up on end, the twins aimed their daggers at the Rush and waited for it to be drawn in and stunned. Their blades tracking the movements of the virus. When the magnetic field built up to a critical point, it exploded in a wave of electric energy.

The girls released their daggers and Drago threw his last infused punch. Blades pierced the air and sailed at the Rush virus from two directions, while a punch came in from the front. If the virus was stunned by the magnetic pulse, it could be clobbered and stabbed. If not, then it had quite a bit more to dodge in less time than it normally had. Though it did seem to be unnaturally quick for a virus.

The electricity welled within the navi before he released it in a cone of lightning. The bolts leapt from his faceplate and danced around the air, bounding off the floor and striking chaotically all over the place. Some places where the bolts struck glowed with solar energy.

The weakened canine was no less playful and a terrible tease as it constantly ducked and dipped itself into the panels. Seemingly easily avoiding every strike that could come its way as it avoided fists and daggers and even the strong pull of a magnet seemed useless as the hole it ducked into sealed up. But in the end however it was the little pup's playfulness that would be its undoing, as fate would have it, it popped up directly in line with the sudden blast of electricity released from the knight's breath attack, finally deleting the horrible little monster once and for all.

DragonierMan collapsed on the ground, exhausted from chasing his most elusive prey yet. His breastplate heaved up and down and he gasped for air as his adrenaline ebbed. He unclasped his helmet and weakly removed it, letting it clatter to his side. Aya and Suzume took a quick breather too, before they began putting the rewards away in their satchels, as they weren't as wiped out.

A half-hour later and a good toweling off. DragonierMan and the twins sheathed their weapons and began venturing deeper into the network. Looking for more spoils.

[Requesting Battle 3.]
Venturing on deeper, the trio would come upon a peculiar sight, it appeared to be a giant bull's-eye target on the ground. Made up of several different types of terrain that really had no relativity to one another. And there, sitting dead center was a candle resting confidently upon a brightly glowing golden panel. Nearby they'd be able to spot two skeletal creatures, but just when they might have thought the battle would be simple, two elemental beasts popped up from the ring of lava to join in the battle!
