"All right, Sparky," said Reverus, sitting on the chair next to Harke. The dog halted in mid-air, tilting his head as he heard his name being called. Reverus traced out a few circles in the air in front of the dog repeatedly. The little armored pup followed Reverus' fingers for a few seconds before barking in what appeared to be understanding, and started doing loop-de-loops. Harke's face twisted about in a bit of disbelief as he saw Sparky follow his father's unspoken "flight training" with enthusiasm.
"Didn't think he'd actually do it, mind," said Reverus, catching his son's train of thought easily. The man then had Sparky land on the table with a sweep of his finger, at which point he broke into laughter. "Fantastic! Great job, boy," he laughed. "Arf! Arf!" barked Sparky enthusiastically, while Harke just sort of looked at both of them sideways, wondering if he should be amazed or intimidated by their seemingly psychic linkage. He resorted to simply watching the battle, while his father got acquainted with the little pup.
Eternalis and Aurora were walking about in the NAXA network, strolling down one of the many branches of the main upper road. "Wonder where all these other roads go," said Eternalis, following a platform to their side with his eyes down into a separate obscured level, making him wonder what was there. Aurora looked off to the side, shrugging as she, too, did the same. "Probably some kind of research area, I guess? It is NAXA, after all," she commented, looking up at the brilliant background of stars.
Eventually, some of the road branches converged into a larger singular road, which was guarded rather jealously by some floaty viruses. "Whoa, Broadside viruses," said Eternalis, drawing back a little as his regenerative processes started up, patching the internal damages from his last battle. "This doesn't look too good. We're surrounded by electric-elements," said Aurora, sending in some info through her visor to her Navi.
Just then, Harke chimed in. "I'm kind of suspicious of that flying disc one. There's only one of it around, it's gotta have something pretty powerful. Take it down quick?" said the operator. "Hmm... Let me have the Boomerang this time, Harke? Someone else's had his fun the last two times they used it," said Aurora, patching in the request. Eternalis turned to his SP immediately following this request. "What, no way--" he balked, before being interrupted by a tiny electrical shock. "Ow, okay, okay, fine!"
Harke chuckled as he slotted in a few chips, making sure to steal a few glances at his father, who was having an inordinate amount of fun with Sparky. A little pang of jealousy struck him as he put in the last of the four chips he had, with a grim black apparition as its description picture. "ZapRings, Boomerang, and a little bit of something else," he said, quite sure of his selection.
"Again, go for the UFO. I don't like the looks of it," the operator said, with the transfer finished. "Will do!" said Eternalis, as his arms charged themselves immediately after the battlechip loadout. Acting quickly, he formed a couple of charged blobs of fluid in his hand, and threw them both at the UFO. The blobs reformed themselves into two arcing rings, whizzing through the air as they headed for the UFO.
Meanwhile, as the Navi showed off some stunning moves, Aurora was analyzing the relative positions of the MagTect, the Boomerang materializing in her hand as she did so. A short while later, she found a good angle, and turned on her heel to launch the metallic implement across the the roads, hopefully snagging all of them in a neat arc as she calculated. She defaulted afterwards to making sure that she wasn't in the way of any stray attacks that might go her way.
Eternalis didn't neglect to find the last chip in his queue after launching his attacks; a small chip with the ID of "Shadow1". As he activated it, the fluid blue form of his body spread over the entirety of his appearance, and shifted his countenance to one that was completely translucent. "Whoa, cool," he said, noticing that his body was fluctuating with its shape even more than before. "Shadow should keep you off the hook from most damage sources until it wears off," explained Harke.
"Awesome," replied Eternalis, waiting to examine his newfound invincibility.
