Finding the IDT Team!

...Wow, together he and VoltMan really put the hurt on that huge group of viruses. He kinda wished

he was the one that was smart enough to AreaGrab on top of the temple, though...less likely to get

attacked up there. But now he HAD to stay down: they had been assigned to help these Navis, and said

Navis would be in trouble if they were both up there. Ah well, at least the nice female Navi could

heal him if he ran into trouble, apparently. "Thanks for healing me, er...miss!" Crud, he forgot her

name...Daring Day? No, that wasn't it...he'd have to make sure to hold off on calling her by name

unless someone else did it first. "Feel free to hide behind me as long as you want! It's not like

I'm going anywhere, anyway..." The webbing seemed mostly concentrated towards his legs, so he

probably shouldn't move them. Good thing Sabrina's chip collection so far was more long-range based.

Now, what to shoot first...ah, he knew. That lone plant virus in one of the areas that VoltMan

shredded. "Sabrina! Can you give me something that can beat that one plant thing way over there?"

"...Really? You don't wanna take out lots of them at once?" A nod from the Aqua Navi left no room

for misinterpretation. And come to think of it, it looked like there was a single virus there that

they'd probably miss if they didn't delete it while they were thinking about it. Must be what he

wanted to do first. "Well...okay, it's a plan! Here you go!" A chip featuring a blue cannon was the

first to be inserted by the operator. "Battlechip, Hi-Cannon! Slot in!"

SplashMan's black and blue hand faded, as well as some of his forearm, and replaced with a cannon of

a darker shade of blue. Not exactly what he was hoping for, but it worked. Utilizing Hi-Cannon's

simple point and fire interface, he positioned it towards the lonely KillPlant, and let loose a

single blast in its direction. There, now they could forget all about it. "So, what should we do

next?"

"Well, I know what we're NOT going to do. And that's let VoltMan get all the deletions! You're

getting more multi-deletes whether you like it or not!" She doubted he could complain any about it,

though, given that the two chips she was sending over featured pictures of Lark on them.

"Battlechip, WideShot! Double slot in!"

WideShot's wide-mouthed gun took shape on SplashMan's arm...again. But since it was Aqua-elemental

and very good at defeating slightly weakened viruses, he was more than happy to oblige. But Sabrina

never said who he should focus on. Either she couldn't figure it out either, or she had faith in him

that he could do it on his own. ...Or a combination of the two. Knowing her, that was probably it.

Oh well. Let's see...there were a couple of groups with other KillPlants in them. And since they

were already weaknened...yeah, that'd work just fine. With his targets finally decided on, he positioned his water blaster towards the northernmost trio of viruses, and figuratively pulled the trigger, appropriately causing a wide shot of water to gush forth towards the plant, furnace, and...something he couldn't quite make out since the WideShot blast was in the way. From there, his focus shifted southward, and after some quick aiming, fired another wave of H2O towards a KillPlant and OldStove duo, along with a MetFire this time. That oughta reduce the number of enemy viruses some. "Phew, that oughta make finishing them easier for you, VoltMan! Sabrina, defense please!"

"Yep!" One more chip found its way into the PET, this one featuring a yellow Mettaur. "Battlechip, Guard! Slot in!"

The yellow shield with a green cross formed in front of the Navi, who didn't even have to move for once. ...Wait a minute. What was that noise coming from the sides? "...Uh-oh, we got a problem!"

"A problem?"

"There's more viruses coming from the north and south! VoltMan's probably already seen them from up there, but...look out, everyone!"

(*Is grabbed by the scruff of the neck, scolded, and thrown back*
Alright, alright, I get it! I'll post!)

The enemy ranks took severe hits from the scattered minigun bullets, from his allies, and from his own raging strikes. But from his new vantage point, Voltman could see the remainder of the enemies. And it wasn't promising. If the enemy ranks kept going... the building could very well be surrounded. What was he supposed to do? What could five navis do against such massive forces? He shook his head.
No use thinking like that. Try to take it all in, and you'll just get a hurting head... focus on one area, and take it from there. He looked around the battlefield once more.
Oh, what the hell. He turned to the holoscreen of his operator, barking out quick commands. DBLBEAM, Aquaball, Skully1, Magbolt2, and two Zaprings! Shigeru nodded, quickly sending the wide array of chips. Voltman dismissed the now-spent minigun, and raised the hand that wasn't using the Elecsword to the sky.

Red and Blue lights began to circle his hand as he activated the DBLBEAM chip. The lights glowed brighter and brighter as the power built, while Voltman pulled a small amount of energy from the glowing structure to make a shield around himself. Lines of light spread from Voltman's upturned palm in the four compass directions, stopping at what seemed to be a set distance from the epicenter of their activity. More lines joined the first set, and soon, Voltman was left with a wireframe cube in his hand. The lights flew to the cube, filling it with combating Red and Blue energies, even as the object floated forward. Once it had reached the center of the battlefield, it began to spin rapidly, flashing the two different colors at repeatedly shorter intervals. Voltman stared at the cube, silently urging it on.
Red... turn red... attack the enemies! At last, the energy exceeded the power of the cube and a sphere of energy erupted from it, covering the battlefield in a wash of data. The HP counts of the viruses and navis both disappeared from Voltman's visor, leaving him unknowing of the result, but either way, it should have helped.

His enemies hopefully having been weakened, Voltman began his next attack. His emblem began to glow blue, a strange energy building within it. After a few moments, a blue stream of data began to flow from the emblem, floating in midair a few feet in front of Voltman's face. Soon, a small blue orb was floating just past the edge of the building. Snatching it from the air, Voltman threw it into the ranks of his allies below him, where it began to move back and forth among the four navis below. He grinned, and yelled down to his allies.
If the opportunity ever arises, try to dodge behind that orb! It should absorb the attack if it's hit instead of you! To increase its size slightly, Voltman fired two small nonelectric pulses into the orb, to increase its power.

Voltman raised his Elecsword, next. The electricity around the sword had been growing rapidly throughout the preparations of the last two attacks, and small bolts of lightning were leaping through the air, only to curve back down onto the sword. Holding the sword in front of his face, Voltman used his free hand to trace half-circles of lightning from one edge of the sword to the other. Eventually, four half circles lined the edges of the blade. They shivered as more energy flew through them, and then began to move. Soon, two full crackling circles of energy floated around the blade, held in place by the electricity that flowed freely between the three battlechips.
Voltman... are you sure you can make the shot? Shigeru looked nervously at the enemies. There was a lot of distance between them, and his navi. Voltman glared at Shigeru through the window.
Probably. Just watch! A small rubber grip appeared on Voltman's hand as he placed it on the sword, steadying the weapon as a sniper would steady his rifle. He took aim at the two Ninetails viruses, and the electricity around the two Zapring chips intensified, bolts flying out into the open air. Voltman let out a cry, and a massive bolt of lightning flew from above, striking the sword and sending the two Zaprings flying. They curved through the air in opposite directions, one to a Ninetails, swerving back around from their wide turns to aim directly at their targets.

He only had two battlechips left. Voltman held his hand out in front of him, and grabbed a pure white bone from the air, holding it at one end. He wound up, a small targeting reticule appearing on his visor. A red icon appeared in his vision, centered on a dragonlike virus in the northern group.
Two Hundred base HP? Not bad, not bad at all! Voltman remarked, obviously slightly impressed by the virus' power among its relatively weak allies. Shigeru sighed.
Less time admiring, more time decimating, eh? His navi chuckled at the remark, but nodded in agreement. A small progress bar appeared on his visor, with the text "homing program lock" above it. Several seconds later, a small notification appeared for both navi and operator, indicating that the program was locked on. A small spark shot from Voltman's visor, traveled the length of the bone, and eventually sank into the end. The bone immediately tugged at Voltman's arm, drawn to the enemy. Not wanting to resist the weapon much longer, for fear that it might pull him off the roof before he wanted to leave, he wound up and let fly. It spun through the air, flying at the dragon virus. Voltman turned his attention away; the weapon would be able to handle the dragon on its own, now.

Time to get down from here. Voltman remarked, his free hand turning into a blue magnet, with red and white ends. Shigeru paled.
Wait, wait, just how do you plan to do that, anyways? The electric navi grinned, taking aim at a virus in the southern group. Shigeru followed where he was pointing, seeing the HauntedCandle virus directly on Voltman's path of destruction. If he had been pale before, his face was all but bloodless, now.
Are you insane?! A low hum began to resonate from the Magbolt2 as Voltman laughed uncertainly.
We're about to find out! With a whoop of excitement, Voltman fully activated the battlechip, leaping off the edge of the building, and flying directly at the southern group, the HauntedCandle directly in his sights.

Edit: Oh, wait, hadn't configured my settings to out of DST. Very slightly early bump.)

Chaos rages all over the battlefield, viruses are systematically destroyed by multiple attacks on the parts of Splashman, Prospectman, Voltman-- who drags himself into a field of viruses. They briefly regard the navi, who makes no attempt to dodge as they pound him into the equivalent of a mush pile.

The genin make an attack on the others, one of which bounds off the shield and hits one of the genin, deleting it. The other's attack goes slightly wide and doesn't hit as much as it should have. The battle seems to only need some mopping up, which would hopefully end this threat.

(OOC: THEY LIVE ONCE MORE!)

For some reason, SplashMan felt as though he had been hiding behind his Guard for weeks on end. And yet, as soon as it disappeared, it was as though someone suddenly hit the Play button. "Ahh..."

"Something wrong, SplashMan?"

"Did I fall asleep or something?"

"Uh...no. You've been hiding behind that Guard for a minute or so." Sabrina whipped out a few chips, but chose to wait on using them until she knew her Navi was still sane. "Why do you think you fell asleep?"

"Oh...it's nothing. Now come on, let's finish off the leftover viruses?" SplashMan looked to either side, then extended his arm. "Chip, please!"

"Well, you sound okay, so alright!" It didn't take much to convince her, apparently...so, she inserted a trio of identical chips into her PET. "Battlechip, MarkCannon! Triple slot in!"

And so, a green and gray cannon formed on the Aqua Navi's right forearm and hand, and soon found itself pointed northward. Immediately afterwards, a cursor formed on the ground, and began sweeping the area for viruses, soon locating a target. Without even having to think, the Navi's arm automatically moved to the direction of that target, and released a single shot in its direction. This process was repeated two more times, until all shots were expended, and the cannon faded back into a regular arm. "That oughta wrap up the north side! Let's do something to help with the south, too!"

"Right!" Actually, they could do more than something...with a little luck, they could actually wrap up the battle right there and then. It was worth a shot, at least. "Let's use this! Battlechip, DashAttack! Slot in!"

What appeared to be a Fishy virus formed on SplashMan's arm, who took a good look at it. "Uh...I don't really get how this one works..." Suddenly the 'wings' on the Fishy extended a bit. "Huh?" Before he could react, his arm straightened forward, and both it and the body it was attached to began to jet forward at a high speed. "Ack!!!"

But luckily for him, it reminded him a bit of his own Aqua Ram attack, only without water and with his arm stuck foward. So he managed to stop panicking pretty quickly, and moved to the south, with the intent of playing hit-and-run with all the remaining viruses down there.

(My post will come tonight, Mountain Standard Time, most likely before... well, bugger time zones, about 4.5 hours from now. Sorry for the hold up, but things are hectic around here right now with the parentals...)
Voltman let out a yell as the force of the combined attacks battered his armor. Once unmarred, the black and yellow plates were now bent and cracked. Small flames carried over the armor, charring what was left untouched, while Voltman cradled his throbbing head in his hands. A moan escaped as he closed his eyes to block out the views of spinning ground and multiplying enemies that swam before him. Shigeru desperately searched through the programs he had recently installed into Voltman, while his navi took blow after blow from the nearby enemies. Finally, he spotted it. A small program file that he'd installed on their last upgrading spree.

Hold on, Voltman... everything will be better after we just Reboot! Voltman's form froze, and while the attacks continued, they didn't even touch the flame-ridden form, instead passing straight through. The image displayed began to flicker, as if it were viewed through a bad connection, before flickering in and out of view completely. Suddenly, the effects seemed to vanish, and Voltman stood among the enemies once more. But he was no longer holding his head, and the fires around his armor had gone out. Shigeru sighed. Voltman laughed. Payback time!

A blue blade shot out of Voltman's wrist as he brought it back, ready to swing at all of the enemies around him, when a sudden cry from the direction of the structure caught his attention. Just a small "Ack!", that prompted Voltman to turn to see the source. What he saw was Splashman, flying rapidly at the group of viruses and, unfortunately, Voltman himself! Time seemed to slow as he viewed the incoming Fishy head, thinking through his options as fast as he could muster. It didn't take long, because at the center of the issue, there weren't that many options: Dodge, or Don't. He chose the former, diving to the side of the group as his ally flew towards the enemies. The Aquasword he kept at the ready, however, ready to slice at whatever remained. And as for the ones out of melee range? A bolt of lightning flew between the spikes on his shoulders, flying down to his free hand to form a ball of electricity ready to eradicate any of the less fortunate viruses.

Overview:
<Passive: Dynamo (Recover 20 HP)>
<Passive: Siphon (20 HP Barrier)>
1. Reboot to self (Status Cure)
2. Dodge (Get out of Splashman's way)

6. Dodge (Just in case)
(Bump)
(The Second Bump)
The remainder of the viruses are destroyed in a bunch of not-so spectacular explosions, markcannon shots, aquaswording, and a little bit of aid from the netpolice. Without a single word more, the two of their allies simply jack out, leaving the two other two navis there for little to no reason at all.

Rewards:
Splashman: 3750z, Treebomb
Voltman: 2500 z, Meteor9
FXP: 25

Voltman looked around at the remaining crowd. Or, rather, lack thereof.
Well, I think that means we're done, right...? He turned to Splashman, nodding while he surveyed the data cache that the enemies had dropped. He grabbed a battlechip's data and a decent chunk of the zenny data. Good working with you, Splashman. Here... he pulled out a small text file, tossing it to the smaller navi. ...is our email address. Feel free to keep in contact. And then, with a bolt of lightning, he was gone.

(Alright, Cereal, since the first battle should have given us 6 FXP minimum, with 25 more... we've got enough for a level 1 cross. I'll talk to you in PM's about it.)
All SplashMan could really do was blink at the scene of Navis leaving suddenly after the group of viruses had been brought down. It was just so...anti-climactic. Oh well. Seeing VoltMan acquire a chunk of the remnant data, he decided to do the same method, sending over the rest to his own operator. He had no clue how much was in it, but he knew there was a lot of it. And there was chip data in it.

"Oh, thank you!" The Aqua Navi happily accepted the tiny text file, before producing one of his own a few moments later. "Here's ours! And likewise on the contact stuff!"

He then turned back to his operator. "Well, looks like everyone'll be fine! How about we jack out and get some rest now? Between busting for your dad and this, I'm beat!"

"Yeah, I think we're done for the night. All right, whenever you're ready!"

SplashMan turned back to the Elec Navi, but he had already left. And so, the bluer of the two Navis turned into a beam of light that went skyward, leaving behind nothing.

(back to real world Netopia!)
OOC: Take an extra 6 FXP, because of the first battle, due to Legoroy and his modding.
