Sylk and Mach's adventures in Yumland

As the team progressed further, they made their way towards a rather narrow valley, with some strange holes were seen to be lit up with a beautiful red flame in each one... The valley then closed into a round ring, with some knights clad in green clashing their swords in preparation for battle. The knights saw the group approach, and turned towards them as they twirled around their swords, a statement to their swordplay skills. Then, one of the knights bellowed out in a harsh roar, prompting some dragons to come out of the holes in the valley's holed walls.

Time for a duel, then.

-BATTLE THREE, FIGHT!!-
Mach, still combined with Vector, and Aera paused after the swordies sounded their battle-cry. His eyes darted from left to right as the Dragrins started to emerge from the holes in grassy walls on both sides.

Mach, we have dragrins coming from both sides.
Both Mach and Aera's shields raised, but a series of metal plates floated from Mach's body and reinforced her protective barrier.
I advise caution, M'lady!

As Mach turned back to Sylk, Aera started to charge electricity within her body.
Sylk, we've encountered Dragrins before. Their bodies can nullify any fire attacks. We found that out the hard way last time.

[Battlechips uploaded, Mach. Spice the Swordies and then focus on eliminating the Dragrins!]

Understood, Aera, Sylk, try to wear down those Dragrins!
Machman raised his armored right foot into the air as a pulsating yellow-ish cloud of data formed underneath. He then stomped his boot down with great force, crushing the program underfoot and caused it to spread out like a cloud of incredibly fine powder. The entire area was coated in the tiny data fragments, which reacted with a program in the grassy terrain and they began to swell as they changed to a purple color. In this state, they became very unstable and started to break down any viral data it could come in contact with.

As the spores did their dangerous work, Aera turned towards the closest Dragrin on her right just before her capacitors reached their limits. She took aim and released all of the energy stored in her capacitors in one blast, which caused a spray of sparks, but it's function was to send the invisible pulse wave towards the dragrin and hopefully disable it enough for one of the others to finish it off quickly. She followed up her pulse attack with a pair of electric bolts, directed at the other two dragrins on the right wall.

Machman decided follow up Aera's strikes with a weapon he hasn't used in quite a while. A blue and orange hilt appeared in his right hand, and an armored finger guard materialized over his knuckles and fingers. There was a small hole where the blade was supposed to be, but as he swept the hilt downwards, a long, somewhat thin cyan flame leapt from the hilt and tightened into a sharpened blade.

[Using your saber, Mach?]
I haven't used it for a long time, and I don't want to get rusty.

As Machman widened his stance and brought his left arm across his chest, the hilt in his right hand extended half a foot downwards, but the finger guard did not extend. He gripped the extended hilt with his left hand, and raised the blade straight up with the hilt at around shoulder level. He shifted his weight forward stepped off with his right foot as his thrusters ignited and sent him flying forward and towards the line of Dragrins on the left wall (appeared on his right). As he approached the first Dragrin, he brought the blade down with a swift downward slash; his attack was so fast that the blade appeared to draw a glowing cyan path from its vertical start to its end position. The blade stayed there only temporarily, because he rapidly got within range of the second dragrin and sent a rising slash in its direction. His final strike mimicked his first and brought his blade down from above in a vertical slash towards the third dragrin. The blade retreated into the hilt of his MachSaber immediately after his third slash, same for the extension of the hilt. Machman touched down and turned around as he slid to a stop.

As the MachSaber started to disappear, he raised his left arm up and pointed down the wall-lined walkway. A buster rapidly formed over his hand, and was quickly loaded with a water-filled projectile. He did not fire right away, he tapped into the sensor network that had spread around the battlefield and waited to see if any viruses remained, but had main priority on any attacking viruses. If one of the viruses had the chance to attack, a pressurized water projectile would already be on its way.

"Eh?! if there immune to fire then half my attacks are useless..."

The spider pouted in dissapointment. Of course it was only for a brief moment, as she realized she was still in battle, and no ammount of pouting would stop the virii. Though she began to think it was worth a shot if she was bored one day. Sylk began to contemplate what she had to do this time, as her greatest strength over the last few battles had been using her deadly flames as an advantage.

"Here, try using these." Rei called out, somewhat out of the blue. It had seemed like he had finally snapped out of his "trance" for now, and put the mopeing on hold for now, atleast.

Of the chips that were sent down, Sylk received a guard1 held in her left middle arm, and a widesword in her middle right. The third chip however, she had no clue what it was. Small spore clouds began to form in her 4 open hands, as she tried to figure out what it was.

"That's your new chip. Try it out, just slam the clouds into the ground." Rei was actually being helpful much to sylk's surprise now. It had seemed like he woke up for a moment, perhaps when he saw his navi confused as to what to do, the feeling of letting another navi down was tugging at him inside.

"Alright, lets take em out!"

Sylk grinned, as all 4 of the spored limbs quickly slammed into the ground, and upon impact, kicked up spore clouds all around her. Much to her amusement, it began to spread like a wilf fire across the grass terrain, as if it was feeding off of the panels, and continued outward at all the virii.

Though she wanted to stand still and watch what happened, she knew the enemies wouldn't keep still on their own. With somewhat of a sigh, she raised up her shield as she dashed towards the dragrins upon the right side of the valley. Her widesword began to raise, giving off a slight reflection of herself as she poised to attack.

Her movements tried to line herself up with the flaming virii; She wanted to get rid of the three on her end all at once, provided the two spice attacks didnt take care of them as it was. As sylk got closer instead of attacking head on she quickly dashed to the side, pressing down on her foot as her whole body shifted before letting out a strong slash, aiming to drag it along the line of her foes hoping to strike all three.

The twin-Spice attack Sylk and Machman unleashed on the poor viruses wreaked havoc on the battleground as a gigantic cloud of spores obliterated all enemies standing in their path. A couple of the Dragrins managed to survive one of the two waves, but were sliced apart by Machman's quick swordplay skills, with one more Dragrin deleted by Sylk's last-minute Widesword slash.

Rewards:

Machman deactivated his buster program, and it dissolved from over his armored hand.
Didn't even stand a chance. Good work everyone.

As Machman walked towards Aera, bugfrags started to rise from the ground near where he stepped, and were absorbed into Vector's armor that protected Mach's legs. Aera also gathered up her fair share of Bugfrags, and also found some zenny data, which she handed to Machman and was beamed into the PET.

Shall we keep going?
I don't see why not.
I agree.

Mach and Aera turned towards Sylk, and Vector's eye on Mach's chest plate looked to Sylk.
We're doing pretty well so far, let's continue onward.

((Ready for Battle #4))
Sylk stood there for a moment, as if pondering to herself what to do next, however thatw as far from the case. After just seeing almost everything around getting wiped out by a giant spore cloud, she was just in a bit of awe and amusement. She was having such fun for her first day of activation, that she could barely contain it.

"That... was so AWESOME!" She exclaimed gleefully, quite satisfied with the chip she had got from the previous battle.

As she tried to calm herself down, she relaxed her body, and took a quick breath before speaking. "Well~, if you guys dont mind spending more time with me, I don't mind continuing. I'm having quite a great deal of fun" Just by looking at her smiling face, you could tell she was enjoying her time.

"After all, what girl wouldn't mind being surrounded by good looking companions." She mumbled under her breath and chuckled softly to herself, as she turned away from the three to move forward, going deeper int the area.

-BATTLE FOUR, FIGHT!!-
Mach looked at the new group of viruses through vector's armored faceplate, and formulated a strategy.

Viruses identified, count 12. Requesting DashAttacks and Magnum chips.

I haven't seen those flying viruses before.

Mach turned to Sylk as a large, three-barreled cannon materialized over his right arm.

Sylk, use your spice chip on the Genin, just watch for any counter attacks.

Aera spoke up and pointed to the IV pack on Sylk's back, which lit up again and continued to administer healing programming.
Your heal pack should still be active, it should help you out if you actually get hit.

He turned back to the flying HoneyBomber viruses and aimed his Magnum towards the closest three viruses. The slides of each barrel slid back and loaded a large explosive round as the slides slid back into place with a series of loud metallic clanks. A trio of cross-hairs appeared on the display in front of Mach's eyes, and as he swung his weapon towards his targets, the cross-hairs stopped over each HoneyBomber and locked on. After locking all three targets, he shifted his aim towards the first HoneyBomber and fired his magnum with a ground-shaking boom. After shifting his aim to his second target, he fired again; the grass around him shivered from the shockwave from the blast. Two of the three barrels' slides were back, they moved as Mach fired to help with the recoil. He eased the cannon to his last target, and fired the last of his ammunition.

Aera, keep on your toes, watch for counter-attacks!

Machman lined up the rest of the HoneyBomber viruses in front of him, and crouched down as he positioned himself like a sprinter on the start line.
Alright Vector, we're going to hit them hard, and they will probably try to strike back just as hard.
I shall remain steadfast, sire.

The thrusters on Machman's wings started to glow cyan and emitted a high-pitched whine as they charged up. They ignited as Mach pushed off and catapulted himself forward and quickly picked up speed. The area was shaken by a loud boom as Mach shattered the sound barrier as he careened towards the HoneyBombers. A protective veil of pressurized air formed over his body and acted like an angular battering ram. He blasted through their lines, and continued forward to allow the viruses to try and counter-attack. However, he blurred slightly and disappeared temporarily before he warped in near where he first started. Aera primed her wing thrusters and prepared to take evasive action to dodge incoming fire.

Immediately after Mach re-appeared, he accelerated again and rocketed towards the HoneyBombers. He carved another straight path through the viruses, drawn by a bright cyan streak from his engine exhaust. After he passed by the viruses, he began to slow down before he slid to a stop and spun back around towards the viruses.

"You got it, mach" Sylk said in acknowledgement of mach's words, nodding in agreement with the plan. She was glad that they knew so much about the things she had to fight, otherwise she may have already lost and given up by now. He's mentioning of counter attacks led her to beleive it was a virus specialty of atleast one of the two virii, so she tried to keep this in mind.

Hearing aera speak, sylk looked at her back, before turning her attention to aera once again with a smile. "thank you, your so kind aera. Allow me to return the favor. Rei! I need two guards and spice, please~e"

There was a slight delay, and a lack of response as usual from the now somewhat emo Rei, but she did get what she requested. In each of her mid arms she materialized the guard1's, as her other four arms held mini spore clouds ready to expload. "I'll protect you, so dont worry" Sylk grinning as she said that.

As her two arm's held onto the shields tightly, her 8 eyes focused on the area keeping an eye out for attacks. Her other four arms in the mean time, raised up as the spore clouds began to grow in her palms, before crashing down into the grass below. The spores raised up and spread quickly throughout the battlefield, as Sylk quickly took a defensive stance, using all of her eyes to try and keep herself and aera safe.

Machman began charging his Magnum attack while Sylk released a cloud of devastation upon the enemy. The spore cloud hit many of the viruses that could not escape it in time, leaving them dazed, many deleted. The remaining Genin hit Sylk and Aera with some Kunai, but got one of its attacks reflected. (20: Sylk, 30: Aera) Sylk easily healed some of that with the IV pack. The HoneyBombers lined up to attack, but some of them got hit by Mach's Magnum and DashAttack. Then, the Bombers released swarms of BEEEEEEEES, but Mach easily dodged it with his SPEED. Oh, and he hit some more viruses after that, too.

Hm... Looks like I missed a couple.

Aera wasn't hurt badly, but she created an IV pack and placed it on her back to help relieve some of the pain. Both Mach and Aera's protective shields went up, and a few metallic plates from Vector's body floated over to Aera's shield and created an extra "layer" of protection for her.

Aera, I'll take care of the last Genin, I'll leave the HoneyBombers to you.
He then shifted his focus to Sylk
Good work on the Genin, Sylk! Back us up if any of them slip through!

Aera nodded in approval as she charged electricity. Machman's thrusters ignited and he flew towards the rock where the Genin had concealed itself. As he quickly approached, his right arm and fist started to grow, Vector's protective plates had to move out of the way as more metallic plates formed over his arm and hand. After his arm and fist were easily thrice their normal size, Vector's protective armor moved back into place, and could barely cover his entire shoulder and upper arm. As Machman flew over the rock and prepared to face the Genin, he spoke to Vector.

Vector, attack the target ahead.
Yes sire.

Machman perched himself in the air and faced the Genin, his fist at the ready beside him. A single blade-like metal plate folded out from it's position on Mach's arm, and floated a few inches in front of his chest. Vector's 'eye' focused on the Genin, and the plate hurled itself at the target like a throwing knife. If it was going to counter, then would have been the time, and Mach had plenty of knuckles to slam into it's cranium.

As Mach prepared to counterattack, Aera aimed her right arm at the closest HoneyBomber, and fired a flash of lightning towards the immobile virus, then followed up with a second blast to the final HoneyBomber.

As sylk's body was struck with the attack from the surviving genin, she used her second guard1 as a leaning post, as her body began to tremble. A new feeling had just overwhelmed her senses, which slowly spread throughout her body. it was only natural for a newly created navi to be unacustomed to many things after their creation, but Sylk seemed to be unusually effected. it had only hurt for a brief moment however, quickly followed by a tingling and slightly numbing sensation.

"Is this... pain?"

Her eye's looked on as a red liquid liek data flowed from her upper right forearm, glistening as Sylk gazed upon it flowing down towards the ground, seeming to draw her attention in. As the blood-like data dripped, she pulled her arm slowly closer to her mouth, her body somewhat hesitant as her tongue began to reach out towards the fluid. All eight eyes began to widen as a delightful taste began to fill her mouth, somewhat spicey yet not over powering, maybe even tangy.

" I HAZ A FLAVOR!?" A random outburst from yet a new experience of hers, of course the sentence defying logic and intellegence in the process.

Sylk snapped out of it shortly after, hearing machman's voice calling out and praising her actions. She nodded with a smile towards him, grateful for the kind words, and quickly prepared herself for battle once more. As it would only slow her down, sylk lifted the somewhat heavy shield of hers up, before slamming it into the ground before aera, hoping it could serve as a decent cover for the SP as she launched an attack. Sylk didn't need it, or rather she didn't care about it at this point.

The spider began to feel a sudden rush throughout her body as she began to stare at one of the honeybombers, a fangy grin slowly forming on her face as she began to move towards it. As she saw aera begin an assault on one of the two, Sylk quickly darted towards the second one keeping her body moving preparing to dodge any incoming attacks.

Quickly closing in, Sylk's eye's seemed to lock onto the virus as her fangs drew nearer to their target. Her tongue slowly ran along her lips as a remanent of her crimson data lingered upon the side of her mouth. Suddenly her body lept forward as her jaws lashed out at the target, aiming to get a bite of it's data. She only had one thought in her mind.

Why don't you show me... What is your flavor?

The Genin sensed Machman moving closer, when suddenly, Vector showed up and tried to give it a whack, with little success, as the armor junction was making it a bit hard to do any attack right. The Genin was about to lift its blade to attack, when Machman gave the ninja a sound punch in the face, deleting it. One HoneyBomber took the brunt of Aera's attack, with Sylk, er, eating the other. The bee-virus filled her with an overwhelming sweet taste that threatened to take over her mind with its deathly grip. Then, the sensation disappeared as quickly as it came, leaving the spider's mouth with a rather dry aftertaste.

Machman's punch crushed the Genin, and Aera successfully downed one of the HoneyBombers while Sylk dealt with the last one. The battle quickly ended, and the trio scoured the battlefield for the plethora of spoils left behind. Bugfrags near Mach's armored body floated up and were absorbed into Vector as Mach walked along and picked up zenny packets and a battlechip data file. Aera gathered her fare share of frags as well, and approached Machman.

That wasn't too bad.

Aera looked down at her arm, which was slightly scratched by the Genins' kunai, but some of her damage was recovered by the recovery patch on her back. She noticed Mach was looking towards her, and she smiled reassuringly.

Just a scratch.

I'm glad you're alright. Do you want to keep going?

Aera nodded and gave him a thumbs up.
Absolutely!

Aera then turned to Sylk, and called out to her.
Sylk~, want to continue?

The trio awaited Sylk's response, and were ready to venture further into the network.

((Ready for Battle #5! Let's get it started!))
((wouldn't i be back at full health after drain attack?))

Slowly running a thumb along the side of her mouth to clear the left over blood from her mouth, Sylk grinned as the remanents of the enemy lingered within her senses. though the after taste wasn't much to be desired, the sweetness of the honey was absolutely delicious. Still, Sylk had no idea what had exactly come over her, weather it was the heat of battle or just something along the lines of instinct. opting to worry about the small details later, the spider began to harvest the treasure data from the battle, and proceeded to give her attention to those who seemed to call out to her.

Of course! You're all just so much fun, heheh.

Sylk just enjoyed the moment, running a hand through her hair with a peaceful look residing upon her face. She didn't really have to say anything more then that, she felt at ease, and the levels of entertainment she had been shown were far more than what she initially expected.

i'm ready when you are~

[[ [s]Psyche[/s]Mod-Lock ]]

The duo went on to find more viruses to bust. The Yumland nets were always a pleasant place to stroll by, with the rolling hills and the idyllic scenery. And if it wasn't for the viruses, it could actually go quite nicely as a good vacation spot. Then, as the intrepid group walked on through, they saw two figures jumping around in the distance. One was slightly tall and holding something above its head, and the other was trying to jump up and grab whatever the first was holding. Even from the pretty distant range, they could overhear the two bickering loudly.

"But Masaaaaaa~! I wanna have a go next!"
"Shut up, Mune! You can't have it! Nyah, nyah, hahaha!"
"You're such a meanie, Masa! Give it, give it, give it!"
"Can't catch it!"
"MASA!"
Sylk's spider like eye's all closed, and seemed to hide in the sea of blue hair she had, as her more humanesque pupils caught the sight of two others on the net besides her own group of travellers. She couldn't quite make out their images too clearly, so the spider remained cautious, though her curiosity was slowly rising. Sylk looked over towards mach and Aera, not really sure what to do.

Are there usually a lot of others this far in?

Thinking back on the battles they had been in so far, she didn't believe just anyone would make it on their own easily, so she assumed either they were strong or luckier then herself.

Sounds like they're argueing about something. Should we find out whats going on?

Sylk took a few steps closer as she spoke, trying to get a better idea of what the two figures looked like, still a little uneasy wether it was a good idea. Stopping, her gaze turned over to mach once more, waiting to see what he thought.
