Yoka Net busting

Voltman brushed a small bit of dust off of his armor, looking at the wreckage around him.
Not bad. Not bad at all.

(Battle FIVE. DUN DUN DUN. 200 HP)
((Modlocked))

Voltman came across a group of navis playing what looked to be football. It looked fairly simple with one Quarterback looking to make a pass behind a line of protective Linebackers as two Receivers tried to intercept the ball being thrown. One team was dressed in matching red uniforms but the other team looked like they were random civilians.

Voltman was about to leave them and move on when he realized something was awry. The randomized team didn't seem as into the game as the other and looked fearful, trying to run away. One of the weaker players was tackled by a red Linebacker and immediately performed an EJO! This was some kind of slaughter! The Quarterback made a long pass to one of his Receivers and that's when Voltman realized that it wasn't a ball being used - It was a mystery data! The Receiver caught the ball and performed a touchdown, causing the field to explode in explosion not unlike a Countbomb. All the navis not clad in red cried out in pain before their screams were cut short by a series of EJOs. The red team laughed and high-fived each other at their victory.

A Linebacker spotted Voltman and pointed at him, "Hey, look. Fresh meat."

The Quarterback smiled and raised his arm to catch the mystery data being thrown back at him. The sound of cracks forming along the GMD's crystalline surface could be heard even from Voltman's distance. The red navis formed up against Voltman's position and readied their next play.

The burly Linemen formed a wall in front of the Quarterback while each Receiver took their positions on opposite ends of the front. They each activated a Rageclaw and took up a sprinting stance.

[Battle 5 - Begin!]
If looks could kill, these guys would be dead in an instant. Voltman was literally stunned by the display. They were attacking civilians, and laughing about it! Chances are, from the looks on their faces, they hadn't even wanted to play. One of the meatheads spotted Voltman, pointing him out. Hey, look. Fresh meat. Voltman shook his head, and was about to turn around, when he stopped. Why not beat them at their own game?
Sorry, guys. But you picked the wrong guy to play against. Voltman taunted, taking his stance against the other seven navis. A coating of electricity flowed over his armor, giving him slight protection against the brutes' attacks. Let's go.

A whistle sounded out of nowhere, and Voltman leapt into action. Taking the lightning rods from his shoulders and aiming them outwards, two rings formed around the massive spikes, pointing directly at the Receivers. Voltman let out a yell, sending a massive charge of electricity out of his emblem and down his arms. The wave went quickly, sinking into the lightning rods and then the Zaprings, flinging them outwards at dizzying speeds towards their targets. The green rings flashed, sparked, and sped up even further, their ring forms warping from the speed at which they were traveling.

Catch those, punks! Placing the lightning rods back into the slots on his shoulders, Voltman spotted the linebackers charging at him. He stood upright, and gave a casual salute. Thanks, but I'll play with you some other time. I've got an appointment with your quarterback, see. A bolt of lightning descended from the sky, enveloping Voltman in a cocoon of electricity, which promptly vanished along with its occupant.

A small light was soon seen, far over the battlefield, which promptly expanded to reveal Voltman's form, rapidly charging at the Quarterback from the sky. Landing behind him with a massive explosion of dust and grass, Voltman dodged to the side and summoned a long, curved blade that was sparking with electricity.
This is for those civilians! Voltman screamed at the navi, charging forwards with the sword and letting loose with a swift sequence of blows, careful to keep his sword away from the precious green diamond in the navi's hand.

Flipping backwards after his torrent of blows, Voltman put the sword into a sheath at his waist, putting both hands palm-out towards the quarterback. Glowing lines of energy lit up the armor along Voltman's arms, coalescing in his hands as spheres of white light. With a flick of his wrists Voltman sent those, too, at the quarterback's large frame. He grinned, before suddenly thinking of the consequences of his actions. The Mystery Data.
Turning all of his focus to the green object, Voltman leapt through the air, swiping at the precious object. He grabbed something, in the confusion of the battle unable to see just what he had grabbed, and turned around to the other navis, setting whatever it was he had caught on the ground beside him.

Why are you all DOING this?! Voltman asked, granted a momentary respite due to his distance from the foes. It's insanity! There are plenty of football leagues out there, none of which require you to harm civilians! They don't want any part of your twisted games! Voltman's emblem, unnoticed by him, began to glow blue around the edges of the emblem and the image of a lightning bolt therein. It's twisted, wrong, criminal. People like you... they don't deserve the chance they're given! Voltman's emblem glowed purest blue, enveloping the navi in a watery shell as a massive transformation took place. The lightning rods on Voltman's shoulders seemed to melt, forming clear globes around his shoulders that filled with clear water. His helmet became transparent ice over the top, his armor over his limbs undergoing a similar transformation. From within the shell, Voltman continued his monologue. Those people you hurt, did you ever think of what was happening to them? Of just what you were putting them through? No! With an explosion of liquid, Voltman emerged from his transformation. SplashCross Voltman glared at his enemies, his yellow eyes piercing the distance of the field. Then I have no problem with what's about to befall you.

Raising his right hand, Voltman summoned a spear, the tip made of crystalline ice. In his hand, the spear began to shrink, the tip growing larger while the shaft grew slightly wider, growing a handle and a trigger. Voltman positioned the weapon against his shoulder, dropping to one knee for accuracy. The tip soon finished its transformation, taking the rough form of a Piranha virus, an arrow beginning to form in its mouth. Water leaked from the orbs on Voltman's shoulders, sliding down his arm and forming an icy shell around the arrows forming in the weapon.
Let's go!

Voltman's green Zaprings hit their marks, stunning both the Receivers in their places. The Quarterback is confounded and is at a loss for words as he palms the Mystery Data wondering where to throw to. Taking advantage of his confusion, Voltman follows up by teleporting behind the Quarterback and slashing a sword across his back, causing him to drop the data.

Voltman finished off the navi with two quick Jolts, sending him off in an EJO beam as he dove to catch the falling data. The crystal landed square in his arms and still looked like it was in good condition.

However, taking the time to transform prepare a battlechip didn't seem to be the greatest idea as the closest two Linebackers charged the newly metamorphosized navi. One of them successfully tackled Voltman and piled on top of him, popping his protective barrier like a bubble and causing him to drop the Mystery Data. Another Lineman piled on top of the first and added an additional crushing weight to Voltman's tiny frame.

"FUMBLE!" one of the Linebackers cried as he made a run for it.

In the corner of Voltman's eye, he could see another Linebacker heading his way while the two Receivers seemed to recover from their temporary paralysis. A tiny surge of electricity relieved him of some of his pain but he was still stuck under a lot of navi.

Shigeru gaped at the screen. Voltman was buried under two navis, a third was running for the data, and Volt had no way of stopping either. Hold on! I'll help you out! Grabbing a selection of battlechips from within his pack, Shigeru slotted them in quickly.
For a moment, there was no reaction. Then, suddenly, a muffled voice from underneath the two colossal figures. What in the hell?! No respect for a good monologue nowadays! A burst of blue light came out from underneath the figures, bubbles soon enveloping the area. Freed from the influence of the navis, Voltman began his charge for the Mystery data, a small amount of water freeing itself from the orbs on his shoulders and flying to the green data, surrounding it in a coating of ice.

Grass pounded beneath Voltman's boots as he charged, headed straight for the green diamond he had dropped nearby. One linebacker for the mystery data, one for him. Voltman had a plan for both. Readying his ice-fish buster from last turn, Voltman took aim at the brute charging at him, and fired off a sequence of two icy shots, and three null element pulses of energy. A click from the inside of the chamber prompted a "hmph" from Voltman, who discarded it and kept running. The other linebacker was now much nearer the data than Voltman would have liked. Summoning a white bone, Voltman leapt into the air towards the mystery data, a strange white light from his emblem shooting out to the bone, sending it flying at the enemy.
Voltman landed on both feet, right next to the data, seeing the bone flying at his foe. He grinned. Say goodbye to your kneecaps, chucklehead! He quipped, grabbing a green object off the ground, and cradling it in his arms. And then, suddenly, he disappeared, taking the data with him.

For Voltman, time froze. He saw the charging enemies, but they were moving at a snail's pace. He cradled the green data in his arms, walking leisurely to the end of the field opposite where the enemies had earlier made a touchdown. Voltman deactivated Hyperspeed, raising the green object to the sky.
Touchdown, team Voltman!

Voltman's muffled words went unheard by the two Linebackers on top of him but the sound of being enveloped was loud and clear. The heavyweights floated off of him gently, giving him a clear line of sight with the charging Linebacker headed his way as well as the data. Voltman sprayed a protective coating of ice over the data and turned to open fire with spears and blasts of electricity, forcing another red player to vacate the field. Meanwhile the mystery data had been picked up by the enemy team and was being carried to the endzone.

Voltman launched a spinning bone towards the lummox carrying his precious data but it was a slow bone. It homed in on the large Linebacker's knees and he could hear it coming for him.

"Hey! Catch!" he called in a lowly, simple voice and tossed up the frozen data.

Voltman traced its trajectory and went to intercept but was too late, as one of the Receivers leapt into the air and crunched down hard on it with their claws. The ice shattered away and the fragile shell of the data was close to breaking. The second Receiver ran with his cohort with incredible speed to the goal in criss crossing patterns. It became difficult to see who had the ball but Voltman ran in and stole a green data from one before speeding his way to his endzone.

"Touchdown, team Voltman!" he exclaimed and looked at his prize: A green clump of turf.

From the opposite end of the field, Voltman could hear the Receivers laughing as they were seemingly about to win.

Voltman threw the clump of turf against the ground, disgusted. Such a rookie mistake, not even looking at what he'd grabbed. Green? Oh, sure, there's nothing else green around this part. Just a MASSIVE FIELD. The receivers were already well down the field. All his teleport signature attacks were drained. For once, Voltman's swordplay couldn't save him. Letting out a growl, Voltman discarded the trusted Elecsword at his side.
Give me the most accurate long range chips we've got. Voltman told Shigeru, eying the progress of the Receivers as he asked.
But, Volt, they're too far! All you'll be doing is wasting our-
Voltman cut Shigeru off. No time for arguments! Send them NOW! Shigeru fumbled with the battlechips, choosing as accurate of long range chips as he could before sending the selection to Voltman. Meanwhile, Voltman had sent small streams of water across the field, which coalesced around the mystery data, healing some of the fractures and surrounding it in an icy barrier.

The Receivers were even closer to the goal. Mere seconds away from a touchdown. Voltman gritted his teeth, and summoned two massive busters, one on either arm. One of the busters was coated in ice, the sound of water in its depths releasing a strange gurgling. The other was sparking with electricity, but currently inactive. Voltman threw his arm out to the side, and the cannon buzzed to life with a massive charge.
Only time for one shot... activate all battlechips!

Warning messages and all matter of hell broke loose inside Voltman's visor. Sparks, flames, water, and energy flew in all directions from the cannons, as volatile reactions took place within them, Voltman channeling all the battlechips and attacks he could muster into the two barrels.
Every combatant saw only a massive blast of light, a single eruption of energy, that streaked down the field. Every combatant but Voltman.
For Voltman, it seemed like he was in Hyperspeed again. But he knew that wasn't true. But the movement, the transformations of the cannons, all seemed to take place in slow motion for him. He lived through minutes in an instant.

The calm yellow of the electric cannon was the first to be disrupted, suddenly letting out a burst of energy, red light streaming from every possible opening in the weapon. Soon, flames joined the flying sparks. A white light glowed in Voltman's emblem, as a white energy flowed down his arm, coalescing into a sphere above the opening on the top of the weapon from whence came the sparks and fire. For every piece of data it absorbed, the orb only grew slightly larger, the electricity and flame occasionally resurfacing with the attack as a momentary burst of color. The orb, too, sank into the cannon. White light replaced the red, before all three colors emerged, a multifaceted diamond light show of destruction.

The blue cannon seemed peaceful enough, as well. Only one chip, to merge with that one. The magnet detached from Voltman's arm, hovering above the opening of the weapon with a deliberate sense of placement. Then, before his eyes, Voltman's attack started to fracture, cracks spreading along the magnet before it eventually gave in to the inevitable and shattered. Each shard held its place, razor sharp, crackling with electricity, and one by one flew into the watery barrel of the cannon. Each one let out its own burst of light as it was assimilated, but through the clear sides to the weapon, Voltman could see the shards whirring dangerously through the water, waiting for a target.

Voltman thought that was it. He was wrong. The lightning bolts on his own shoulders let out sparks of electricity, which turned into two orbs of gray light that sank into the barrels, letting out yet another burst of energy from each. They both began whirring dangerously, as if they hadn't already been menacing enough. But it, too, was because of the final battlechip. Red light began to surround the aqua cannon, blue light surrounding the electric cannon. Beams of light shot between the two, before solidifying and forming a solid sheet of light that shifted between Red and Blue.
The weapons finally ready to fire, Voltman pulled the trigger.

Bullet time ended. The explosion rocked the field, sending the small clump of turf that Voltman had grabbed earlier flying into the distance. Two blasts of energy traversed the length of the field quickly, red and blue light erupting into an all-enveloping sphere of energy halfway down the path. Voltman watched with anticipation. Come on... faster, faster...! The cannons in his hands shattered, their data returning to base code and flowing into Voltman's emblem to recover from the strain he'd put upon them.
Hate to spoil the fun. But the Linebackers are up next. Voltman chuckled, stopped, and groaned. The things he did for justice.

(Holy hell, I think I just unloaded every ranged chip I have. 0.o
It'd be a pity if the Mystery Data was destroyed, but I'll be damned if I let them get a Touchdown.)
The Siphon barrier couldn't reach the data from that distance and his Dynamo wasn't compatible with inert data. The pulse of rejuventating electricity recirculated itself through Voltman's body to heal him some more before he put.

Voltman's desperate gambit paid off as the Receiver holding the data was held back by the Magbolt long enough to stall him from reaching the end. The other Receiver turned, waving his arms to signal that he was wide open. The data was tossed to the other player, who caught the pass and could only watch as his teammate was forced to EJO by a Jolt and splash of water. Voltman frantically unloaded more attacks to finish the job but it was too late.

The Receiver's foot landed behind the white line of the end zone with the data cradled in his arms. They had scored, but not without a price; a series of elemental impacts slammed against the Receiver's back and forced him to EJO as well causing the mystery data to drop to the ground. A cloud of explosive force expanded outwards from the touchdown, rushing past the Linebackers and straight towards Voltman. He couldn't escape it, it was simply too fast. He braced himself as the wave washed over his body and his visor turned to white static.

Then nothing.

Was he deleted? Was this where deleted navis went? His visor snapped back on and he realized he was still alive. The attack stung a little less than a Spikey's fireball. For a moment Voltman wondered what went wrong and judging by the confused looks of the Linebackers, they weren't sure either.

"Why's he still there?" One of the trapped navis asked, "We won."

"I dunno." Another one answered, "Boss isn't here. Boss would tell us what to do."

Voltman's DBLBEAM flashed across the field and seemed to settle on red, striking the Linebackers and freeing them of their bubbly confinements. The one Voltman had previously confused had come back to his senses.

"You two take care of him," he ordered, "I'll go get the ball."

He then began to waddle to their endzone while the two previously bubbled navis tried to tackle Voltman again.

Voltman braced himself as the wave swept over the field, felt his guard shatter against the oncoming force... And then... nothing. His visor was static. Voltman felt oddly calm. Was it over? EJO'ed, or worse? The visor suddenly snapped back to the battle, as his armor fractured. He swore, gripping his chest as severe pain gripped his torso. He sent a blast of healing energy to it, but it seemed to be mostly mental, with the actual damage to his system being superficial at worst. The linebackers looked at each other, confused.
Why's he still there? We won. One asked to the other. It seemed they'd forgotten the battle for the moment. The other shrugged, answering. I dunno. Boss isn't here. Boss would tell us what to do. Voltman stored that away for later use. Boss, eh? So they're working for someone? But there was a battle to be had. One mumbled something to the other two, and started to run for the ball. Alright, then. Voltman muttered to himself, as another layer of water coated his armor. Game on.

Voltman pulled out a spear, a blue bolt of lightning descending from the sky and striking the head of the weapon. Voltman smashed the weapon against the ground around him, drawing a glowing circle in the terrain. Flipping backwards, Voltman brought his spear into the air once more, this time bringing it down upon the terrain in a massive, double handed blow on the center of the circle in front of him. The ground cracked, shifted, and fell inwards, even as blue light began to glow from within the tunnel along with a massive roar, not unlike that of a distant explosion.
Suddenly, a massive beam of blue light shot out of the ground where the circle was drawn. Voltman plunged the spear into the center of the area, and the flow halted, churning around the head of the spear in a deceptively peaceful manner. An indistinct grunt came from Voltman as he pulled on the spear, causing the energy to react with a burst of power, finally simply finding purchase in the smooth grass below his feet and spinning around, the beam of light following the path of the spear. Voltman saw the running linebacker fleeing nearer to his target.
Oh no you don't! When the spear reached the correct point, Voltman let go of it, and the weapon became enveloped entirely in the blue energy, a beam of energy flying across the field at its target.

Shigeru's voice suddenly rang out, as a hologram screen appeared beside Voltman. Linebackers! Here, use these! Slotting in several chips, Shigeru zoomed out to a further view of the battlefield, watching the events.
Brains versus brawn it is! Let's finish this! Voltman faced one of the two linebackers, holding his position carefully, and gripping a rectangular object in his right hand. When the linebacker came near enough, Voltman flipped the rectangle into the air with a movement of his wrist, and grabbed the handle that appeared. The rectangle expanded quickly into a Dominerd virus shape, the arms folded across its front. Bracing for impact, Voltman waited for the inevitable crushing blow, and when he felt an impact on the front of the dominerd surface, released the handle and leaped off to the side. The dominerd let out an ear-rending screech, causing Shigeru to clap his hands over the sides of his head, but Voltman was more interested in the Dominerd's charge at its attacker, its mouth open to strike.

And then there was one. Alright, let's see just how well muscle burns! Voltman threw his arms out to the side, as his hands slid back into his wrists, the hilts of swords appearing where they used to be. Twin charges of energy flew down his arms, and blades sprung from the hilts. One, blue-green, glowing with energy, the other red, slightly curved, and writhing with flames. Crossing the blades, Voltman charred the grass around him with sparks, let out a yell, and charged at the final linebacker. The sword struck first, as Voltman spun around the enemy and dealt a series of quick blows, finishing with a crushing diagonal slash aimed at the foe's back.

Finish it! Shigeru yelled at his PET. The sword dissipated, and Voltman's hands appeared once more, gripping the hilt of the fireknife for a massive double-armed swing. A torrent of flame shot out of the weapon, lighting the grass around Voltman. Shadowed against the fire, Voltman looked like a demon straight out of hell itself. No fancy tricks this time, Voltman let loose with everything he had, swinging the Firesword like a madman. Left, right, up, down, spin, roll. He seemed to be everywhere at once. Finally, he let out an uppercut with the weapon, and flipped backwards, the sword in hand, bolts of white light shooting from lightningrod to lightningrod on his shoulders.

Fire, water, electricity, and we played it on grass... looks like you chumps got the full taste of battle today, eh? Well, too bad, really. Because now, or very soon, it's just Game Over for every last one of you..

Voltman patched himself up without a problem and quickly fired a Powerbolt energy spear to bring down the Linebacker running for the mystery data. It struck against his back in a powerful blast, knocking him down and forcing him to EJO. The other two Linebackers charged in, eager to enact their revenge on the cocky yellow navi. One crashed against a Curseshield and felt the crushing jaws of the Dominerd wall before having to EJO as well. The final Linebacker charged in and leapt onto Voltman. He struck with a Sword and Fireknife but the short dagger was too short to finish the job and Voltman was sacked for the second time by the same opponent.

"Hur hur hur urk-" The heavy navi chuckled before disappearing in an EJO beam.

Voltman's Fireknife could be seen at the center of the data stream as it exited the network. He was victorious, albeit slightly battered.

-BATTLE 1-
-START-
A burst of steam erupted from one of the nearer pools of water near the viruses' location as sparks flew over its surface. Likewise, two other nearby pools burst with steam from some source of power just out of sight. The sound of crackling electricity found its way through the now-obscured battlefield, as the barriers of the Battle Routine established themselves around the crowd. Sounds of the outside of the world ceased, as the connection was severed. Reinforcements now all but impossible, the shadowy figure that had conjured up the steam began to grow clearer, as he approached his foes. A burst of power erupted from the navi, and the fog dissipated, revealing the long-absent electric crusader.

There, where the fog had cleared, stood Voltman. His palms crackling with electricity, he surveyed the field. After a few moments, he spoke. Shigeru, we've got viruses. The operator sighed, getting the battlechip display up and running. It's about time. We've been looking long enough. He flitted through the battlechips, choosing a few of Voltman's more choice battlechips for the situation, and sending them to his navi. The windbox is priority, obviously. If you're going to want to take care of the other viruses with your Swords, you'll need to get that first. Voltman waved his hand lazily in the direction of the holoscreen showing his operator. You act like I've never fought one of them before. Just let me work, eh? Shigeru hesitated briefly, trying to think of a comeback, before just sighing. Just... just get them, okay? Voltman chuckled at his small victory over his operator, and then turned to the viruses.

A small sheath appeared at his waist, as the first battlechip activated. Voltman reached for the hilt at its end just as sparks erupted from his emblem, covering his armor in a rather feeble transparent barrier. Pulling the hilt from its sheath, the blade was nowhere to be seen, until a bolt of lightning from Voltman's left shoulder lightning rod struck the hilt and formed itself into a small blade, glowing yellow-white and sparking with power. Alright, let's go, then! Activate Hyperspeed program! Voltman yelled. Shigeru tapped in a quick sequence of commands into the PET, before giving Voltman a nod. Hyperspeed preloaded. Activating in three, two, one... Voltman's form began to blur as his processors were overclocked with energy. He dashed forwards, an afterimage of his stationary form remaining where he had been for a moment, as the network failed to recognize the navi's movement. Putting on a final burst of speed, Voltman accelerated a final time, only slightly affected by the windbox's resistance, before disappearing entirely from view.

Now, Voltman! Shigeru instructed his navi, as the Viruses all stopped in confusion from the disappearance. A bolt of lightning struck behind the Windbox as Voltman reappeared, Elecknife already raised to strike. Plunging the dagger towards the back of the enemy, Voltman's emblem released a pulse of energy that dove into the dagger, driving it forward with slightly more power. Hopefully, just enough to finish the enemy off if the dagger hit. Voltman flipped backwards, spotting the Magneakers turning to face his position before the other viruses. The Magbombs already slightly visible in their head-mounted cannons, Voltman left the Elecknife behind at the Windbox, a much larger sheath appearing at his waist. Icy crystals gathered on the sword hilt as Voltman drew it, charging forward, solidifying into the form of a blade. Beneath the ice, a blade of blue energy could be seen, as cold as the ice surrounding it, and colder still.

Voltman dove to the side as he continued his advance. Knowing full-well that a straightforward attack at the Magneakers might work, he also knew of the magnetic capabilities their bombs had. Someone with as much electricity as himself would be rendered immobile by the bombs if even one of them managed to land near him. So his advance was slowed, but he was still moving at a fair clip towards the spiderlike drones. The battlefield seemed to slow for Voltman as he advanced, the movements of the viruses and himself seeming to be almost in harmony, despite their opposing sides of the fight. But as he neared the enemies, Voltman rid himself of such thoughts, raising the blade to begin a different, more deadly, dance.

Now you see them... Voltman remarked to no one as he began his attack. The blade flashed blue as Voltman swung it at the enemies, the ice shattering from the forces of impact. Waves of water flew over the battlefield, laced with shards of ice from the original coating. Voltman traced a deadly path through the enemies with his sword, slashing left, right, and diagonally through the three viruses, leaving no inch of their position unassaulted by the freezing sword. ...and now you don't! Voltman finished his beginning statement, laughing as he finished his attack.

Seeing the Piranhas nearby, Voltman grinned, flipping backwards over the three Magneakers and dashing the short distance between himself and the floating fish. Sliding underneath the enemies, Voltman brought his sword around in a wide arc, before flipping upwards once behind the enemies and slashing once, twice more. Water's not so fun when it's tearing you apart instead of your victims, eh, fish? Voltman taunted the viruses before he rolled to the side, leaping upwards as his roll finished and twirling the sword around him while still in the air, water spread to the very ends of the field from the force of the swing. Using his momentum from the attack, Voltman slid out of the way, back to a position further away from all the enemies.

As he loaded his final battlechip before the counterattack, the two halves of his emblem, split by the lightningbolt in the middle, began to glow red and blue, flashing slowly. Voltman sent as much energy as he could spare to his right hand as the repetitive flashing of the red and blue began to speed up, indicating that the DBLBEAM was nearing when it would fire. Shigeru, give me a target, here...! Voltman yelled at his operator, his systems all busy with the power of the battlechip loading in his system. Shigeru scrolled through the enemies, before two of them became highlighted by the system in red, indicating the highest HP amounts. The dragons! Fire at the dragons, Voltman! The electric navi grunted to show he understood, and he located the enemies through the bright lights emanating from his emblem. An orb of white energy formed in his right hand, just as he targeted the first dragon. Voltman whipped his arm around at high speed, firing the orb at its target, just as the DBLBEAM finished loading.

The red and blue energies sped up Voltman's torso, finding opposing positions at the ends of the lightning rods on Voltman's shoulders. Voltman threw his arms outwards as the energies fired, reaching outwards in two massive concentric rings of red and blue light, washing over the entire battlefield. Voltman looked around the field, after it had finished, preparing for whatever other attacks might come. You know what, Shigeru? Voltman remarked to his operator. Shigeru just responded with a stare and an inquiring shrug. Voltman let out a small chuckle. It's good to be back.

Voltman starts his fight off with a bang. Warping behind the Windbox, he deletes it with a couple of simple blows while the Piranha swim around in the air. A Magneaker takes this chance to fire a bomb at him, but a protective barrier nulls the blow.

One Magneaker scuttles away as Voltman comes in swinging with his Aquasword, deleting two of the viruses in a flash, before swiping at the other fishes, trying to get at the Piranhas. Luckily his fishing stabs one at least, causing the others to retaliate in a unified resistance by shooting tridents at Voltman, dealing quite the amount of damage. Shrugging it off. Voltman blasts a nearby EarthDragon with a Jolt, which it reacts by roaring fiercely, getting ready to strike.

Voltman then activates his DBLCube, which alternates colors for a while, before landing on blue, emitting a healing wave over the electric swordsman. His own processes do some electroshock therapy to keep him up.

The Nautilus kind of just float there.

Voltman groaned as he pulled himself off the ground, blue energy and sparks flying over his armor, repairing significant damage and removing a trident that had embedded itself in his gut. He threw the trident to the side, his eyes flaring as he stared around the battlefield, looking for his next targets. Shigeru, no swords this turn. I just sent you a chip list. If you please... Shigeru opened the list, and typed a quick sequence of commands into his PET. The battlechip icons highlighted from the chip list on the side of his screen, moving to the center. Selecting the six chips, Shigeru dragged them onto Voltman, prompting them to transfer to his navi.

A surge of energy shot down Voltman's arm, nestling in his palm as a ball of energy while a surge of electricity patched his wounds and covered his armor in a small barrier. Clenching his fist around the data, Voltman fully activated his first battlechip. The energy flowed out either side of Voltman's fist, solidifying into a gray-white bone. Voltman tossed it into the air a few times, watching the weapon spin and catching it by the opposite end each time. After a few tosses, Voltman stopped, winding his arm back and tossing the bone across the battlefield. It spun quickly, propelling itself across the field towards its target: the final Magneaker. The throw was wide, but the bone's programming caused it to swerve in midair, heading on a collision course.

Voltman didn't have time to watch for the outcome of the attack, however, as a roar shook the battlefield. The sudden noise stunned Voltman, who recovered only to whirl around and search for the source. It wasn't hard to find, as the Earthdragon roared once more, energy building up in the jar from which it originated as it prepared to attack. Stepping sideways, Voltman began to strafe around the dragon, slowly nearing it as the attack built up. Finally, when he thought himself close enough, Voltman tossed a small domino into the air, which grew during its flight, eventually smashing back to earth, eyes and paper-thin arms now present on the black monolith. Grabbing a handle on the back on the Curseshield, Voltman knelt behind it and prepared for the inevitable strike. A few moments passed, before some major impact shook the shield. Bad move, buddy! Voltman yelled as the Dominerd's arms unfolded, revealing its fanged mouth beneath. Voltman released his grip on the handle just in time, as the shield flew across the arena at high speed, seeking out the enemy that had struck it.

A shining trident flew past Voltman's head just as he began to rise after the Curseshield's attack. He turned, seeing the two remaining piranhas, and similar tridents formed within their mouths. Oh, I know you didn't just shoot that at me. Voltman remarked, as his hand slid into his wrist, two sparking prongs emerging from the new gap. Green sparks began to swirl between the prongs, and white energy began forming out of the air around Voltman's other hand. Because if you did... He raised his hands, aiming the weapons at the two enemies. It would turn out VERY badly for you two! He waited, staring down the enemies for a moment. He twitched, almost firing the electric ring. With a yell, he whirled around in a tight spin, firing off the Zapring in a massive arc, and the double Jolt on the opposite side of the two enemies. Both attacks selected a different piranha as their target, speeding up with a final burst of power just before they reached the fish.

Only a few moments remaining before the major virus counterattack began, and Voltman was too far from the enemies to strike any major blow. Only one choice, then... activate Areagrab! Voltman yelled, his systems following the request immediately. A blue light surrounded Voltman as the battlechip activated, intensifying in brightness for a few moments before vanishing entirely, with electric navi in tow. Within the confines of the Areagrab, Voltman summoned a small spear, its tip glowing blue and releasing small amounts of water, and a larger spear tipped with a blue magnet.

Disengage Areagrab! Voltman yelled as he arrived behind the second Earthdragon, time returning to normal as he arrived in a flash of blue, flecks of light scattering in all directions. Twirling the smaller spear in his hand, Voltman summoned three large bubbles, which he propelled towards the Earthdragon with a sweep of his arm. Take this! Voltman yelled as he launched his final attack, leaping into the air and drawing back his arm with the Magbolt spear. Descending, Voltman thrust the spear forward, just as the bubbles reached their target. A flash of light, a burst of steam, and the battlefield was obscured from view.

(S'a bump.)
Voltman piles up his defenses and heals himself before the EarthDragon's attack. He tosses a bone to a Magneaker, who only embarrasses itself by charging straight into it.

The EarthDragon attacks, but into something it can't really penetrate despite all its power. The shield gets it back, clamping down with powerful jaws and crushing the EarthDragon completely. It seems the attack's force dispelled Voltman's barrier though.

The Piranha do attack at this time, and a needle grazes Volt's shoulder before he blasts them both to kingdom come.

A Nautilus launches an Aquatower at Voltman, but he was already gone, using his Areagrab to get behind the next EarthDragon and entrapping it in a bubble. Pulling his spear back, the electric swordsman thrust a powerful magbolt into the trap, releasing massive electrical energy that deleted the virus instantly.

The other two Nautilus launched Aquatowers at Voltman, but only one of them hit. Hm... felt like a nice shower.

Voltman flew backwards as the tower of water erupted beneath his feet. Landing hard, he skidded on his back several feet before sliding to an abrupt stop. Coughing up a bit of the previous attack, Voltman shook his head, trying to rid himself of the water in his ears. He glanced around the battlefield.

Only a few enemies left. Voltman noted, as his electric barrier renewed himself and his wounds knit together with blazes of sparks.
Maybe so, Shigeru noted, but those enemies are also the ones that have been pelting you with attacks throughout the entire battle. He pulled up a picture of one of the viruses on his main viewscreen. The virus faded to a wireframe outline, as the PET scanned it for weaknesses. They're not too powerful, though. The only notable thing is that they seem to have a water-based barrier... Shigeru looked through his selection of battlechips, eventually selecting two and sending them to his navi.

Voltman looked out at the viruses. Bubbles? They use BUBBLES to defend themselves? They're not even that suitable of defense, either... Voltman commented. Shigeru shot his navi a glance as the battlechips finished downloading.
Says the navi who protects himself with a pitiful barrier of electricity every turn. The operator quipped with a grin. Voltman waved his hand in Shigeru's direction. I... that... you... it's different! Voltman yelled, shutting down the holoscreen displaying his operator.

Comparing me to those weaklings... pah! Voltman downloaded the first battlechip, activating it straight away. A dark cloud appeared over the field, light flashing in its depths from bolts of electricity arcing within. Suddenly, a massive bolt shot from the cloud, striking the field in a burst of light. Where it struck, the electricity stayed, sparks meshing into the shape of a mounted minigun. Voltman grabbed handles on either side of the weapon, taking aim at the viruses. We'll see just how well your barriers handle THIS! He yelled, pulling the trigger. A stream of bullets flew from the weapon, flying in a massive spread towards the enemy viruses. Chunks of the ground tore apart from the blows, even as water in the distance flew upwards in a spray from the impact. A small red counter on the side of the weapon ticked downwards, the number of bullets nearing zero. Eventually, the weapon stopped firing, the clicking of an empty chamber all that came out of the gun.

Gah. Stupid thing... Voltman knocked the gun aside, which disintegrated into flecks of data before it even hit the ground. He lifted his hands, blasts of energy gathering from the emblem on his chest into his palms. His visor glinted as two targeting reticules appeared over the images of the viruses. If you want something done right... Voltman fired off the pulses of energy, and grabbed the hilt of a sword that appeared in front of him. The lightningrods on Voltman's shoulders glowed bright yellow as energy built within them, before twin bolts of lightning struck the sword, creating a blade of pure electricity. ...waste 'em yourself.

With a roar, Voltman charged towards the viruses, dodging left and right in an attempt to dodge the attacks that would no doubt be coming his way. With a massive leap into the air, the electric navi brought the blade around within striking distance. But with the viruses already having seen his attacks... he'd have to try something different.
Tucking his form into a ball in the air, Voltman extended the sword past his body, turning himself into an impromptu yoyo near the viruses. Landing on the ground, in between the three aqua viruses, Voltman spun around, striking in a wide circle with the blade. Sliding away after his spin, Voltman thrust the blade into the ground. Three small cracks spread through the terrain towards the viruses. When they were directly underneath the three, Voltman sent a pulse of energy into the sword, releasing massive blasts of electricity out of the cracks he had formed. The sword showing definite signs of wear by this time, Voltman knew he only had one to two blows with it left. Circling the enemies, Voltman braced one of his feet against one of the earlier cracks and leapt forward, sword in front, flying through the viruses like an arrow.

The sword shattered in Voltman's hands, spent from the force of the earlier blows. Shigeru, did something happen to the Elecsword? Voltman asked, staring at the hilt. Well obviously. But if you're referring to why the sword broke... I don't know. Shigeru looked over the data. He couldn't figure out what was wrong. Nothing had changed, that he had caused. So, maybe something he didn't cause? He started searching. Because a break after three strikes wasn't something Shigeru wanted to happen when it really mattered...
