Quest Fetch

"You don't look fine to me." said Mill to his sister as she tried push herself upright off of his shoulder, albeit with little success. To stop Lilia's silly struggling with her own weakened body, Mill pushed her back just a little so she'd sit on the back of her legs. "So lemme guess, the only reason the nurse let you walk home was because you said you lived just down the street or something?"

"... Maybe... *sniff*" admitted Lilia as she fought with her runny nose yet again. "The apartment building... *sniff* isn't that far away..."

"You just collapsed. If that's not too far away, what is?" sighed Mill, shaking his head at his sister and the whole situation. Lilia clearly wasn't walking any further for the moment, and just sitting out in the open all day certainly wasn't going to help anything. That just left... Ugh. "Well... here's how we're going to do this. Don't fall off, I guess." said Mill with a dry laugh as he turned on his heels to present his back to Lilia.

"Wha... *sniff* Are you serious?" gasped Lilia at the sight. She'd have been more aghast if she wasn't so drained of energy in the first place... In which case, she wouldn't need a piggyback ride. Crap.

"Hauling around my 15 year old sister on my back through ACDC Town isn't exactly my idea of a good day either, you know. Just hop on so we can get home..." grumbled Mill as he waved one of his hands behind his back to motion Lilia up.

"... This is so embarrassing..." muttered Lilia as she climbed up her brother's back and buried her face in his jacket hood as if to hide herself from the world. With the little sister now on board, Mill had to ponder how he was going to make the rest of this work. Lilia's schoolbag was already slung over his shoulder, and Euthenia's PET was inside that, so that wasn't an issue. Lilia was on his back, but surely he'd need to use his hands as a seat for her. So... what was he supposed to do with his own PET?

"Uh... Hey, Anyis?" asked Mill cautiously as he leaned over his PET lying on the ground in front of him.

"Yuck...! Argh, hold on a second..." whined Anyis over the Spooky slobber now running down her face. To remedy the nasty situation, Anyis gathered some ghost data in her palm, and... slapped herself in the face? Well, it worked. The repair-function ghost data dissolved the slobber in an instant, and Anyis was clean and good as new. "There. Now, finally, what on earth were you... have your sister on your back. Why do you have your sister on your back?" groaned Anyis after turning around to see Lilia draped over her Operator's back.

"She can't walk, so this is how it is." grumbled Mill. "Since my hands are going to be totally tied up, you're going to have to get creative against the viruses, and you're going to have to talk to me."

"Talk?" questioned Anyis. "Why do I need to talk? Can't you just watch me?"

"Nope... My PET is..." answered Mill, who then took a deep breath, leaned down, and chomped down on his PET's rubber handle. "... Ouh ah mih hns." Even if he could tilt his eyes down at such a bizarre angle to see the screen, his PET was bobbing up and down with every garbled world that squeezed its way out of Mill's occupied mouth.

"... What? I don't... You stuck the PET in your mouth. I bet you look ridiculous right now, ha ha..." declared Anyis with a very, very dry laugh attached. Indeed, with a girl's schoolbag on his shoulder, an actual girl on his back, and his purple PET in his mouth, Mill was quite an oddity out on the sidewalks of his ACDC neighborhood.

"Mm hm." grunted Mill with a tone of agreement. No point in trying to downplay this nonsense, Mill figured as he lifted all his cargo up, stumbled around for a moment, then began walking forward.

"Well, whatever. You just keep walking, Magna and I will figure something out." sighed Anyis as she scratched her head a little. How was she supposed to do this without chips... Well, there was still one chip floating around, literally. "Whoops, almost forgot about that. Rain's still in the forecast! LilCloud, turn around!" she shouted at the rainmaker, which immediately obeyed and made an about-face, marching its way back towards the Spooky that had attacked Anyis and the last remaining Canodumb. Dorky one-liners wasn't particularly her style, but sadly her fists couldn't talk loud enough for Mill to get the gist of the battle without visuals.

Anyis wasn't going to leave the Spooky with just that, though. Oh no. "Don't think that's all you'll get for licking me, you stupid fake ghost!" barked Anyis as she channeled a huge amount of ghost data into her body. "Go Titan, show it what a real ghost is like!" She vented all her frustration towards the virus in one big blast, releasing the Titan's spirit above her, which belted out a roar for the ages before launching its ethereal body at the Spooky. Rather than raise one or both of its colossal fists like usual, though, the Titan made a straight line for the other ghost, raised its head, and then slung it straight back down, wanting to pound the Spooky into dust with its strong horns.

While all that was going on, Magna patiently bided his time, even with irritable Swordy trying to loom over him, though the significant size difference there prevented much progress. "Mother Unit, I seem to be the target of a Swordy Unit, and lack appropriate countermeasures. What is my directive?" reported Magna after Anyis unleashed her strongest ghost upon the Spooky.

"What? Oh, damn, I forgot about that Swordy... I'm all out of attacks too..." muttered Anyis as she realized that the Titan was the last real source of offense she had. "Hey Mill, I know it'll be tricky, but we really need a chip! Any will do!" she shouted up to her Operator.

"Mm..." grunted Mill as he came to a stop just short of a crosswalk at a busy intersection. Well, Mill had nothing he could do, but maybe his sister could give it a try. "Ey Riria... Riria!" babbled Mill as he tried to say his sister's name, only to ultimately compromise to shaking her a little by moving his hands, which she was sitting on. "Han ou geh a chif ouh ah mih hoceh?"

Lilia, who had been half dozing-off on her brother's back up to this point, didn't even try to comprehend the garbage Mill just said. Instead, she just reached over his shoulder and plucked the PET out of his mouth for a moment. "Want to... *sniff* try that again...?"

"Ah, thanks. Could you reach into my jacket pocket and pull a chip out? It doesn't matter which, just about any will do." implored Mill.

"Yeah, sure..." sighed Lilia, figuring she could focus enough if it didn't matter which chip she got. Mill stumbled around while Lilia shifted about, twisting her arm back up, over, and then under Mill's shoulder to dig her hand into his pocket and produce a Battlechip. "Here you... *sniff" go, Anyis..." said Lilia as she took the liberty to slot the chip in, although her arms were a little wobbly and it took 2 or 3 tries. "All done, here you go Mill..." The exhaustion in her voice was quite apparent as she stuffed the PET handle back in her brother's mouth.

"Ranks, Riria." Maybe Mill just shouldn't bother trying to talk for a while.

"Yeah, thanks Lilia, you're a livesaver..." agreed Anyis as she awaited the chip's upload. "... Huh? What's wrong? Where's the chip?" questioned Anyis confusedly as the Battlechip never came to her. "Where did it go... Wait... Don't tell me it was... Oh jeez, it was." After a moment, Anyis figured out a theory as to why she didn't get the chip, and one glance over to Magna confirmed it for her. Of all of Mill's remaining chips to pull, Lilia managed to find Magna's preset chip. Which just so happened to be the strongest chip Mill had. Uh oh. Anyis quickly opted to just watch the following, half due to caution and half for the amusement.

The metal golem, who already easily loomed over the Swordy, only seemed to become more intimidating as the GolemHit data was infused into his arm. The resonance of a golem's weapon for a golem created a huge surge of the orange energy that fueled Magna, up to the point where it was leaking out of his fingers and blaster palm. The Swordy could try whatever it wanted, but Magna had his barrier around him, his trusty shield in one hand, and in the other hand, the power to sink ships and destroy cities. Magna calmly raised his all-powerful hand, and as he brought down the hammer of righteous golem justice, there was only one thing to be said: Oh yeah.

It was a bit of a bad day for Anyis' operator, with him having to play temporary porcine-unrelated ride for a weak sister. Nevertheless, Mill's Navi pressed on, with her licked face remedied by... a slap to the face. Well, it worked, so it was fine. In any case, the Little Cloud battlechip rained down on both of the viruses not currently standing next to Magna, and the ghastly Titan only served to rub the Spooky's ghost data in its own face. Finally, Lilia managed to contribute to the battle by transforming Magna into a fearsome shadow of what he was, with the golem bringing down stoic retribution to the Swordy in front of him.

With victory in hand, Anyis and Magna gathered up the various spoils of war, and... Err... "Hey Mill, how are we supposed to transfer chip data to you?" queried Anyis through the PET hanging from the Operator's mouth.

"Iunno." grunted Mill without any of the hard syllables that would demand that he bite through his PET's handle and close his mouth. "Mehhi ih'll ust-"

"Okay, enough, just stop. I'm just going to transfer it and you can deal with it later." interrupted Anyis, unable to stand any more of Mill's garbled speech. At her beckon, Magna moved over and handed what he had gathered to Anyis, and with a single clap of her hands, everything was uploaded off the Net. "And that's that. We're moving on, feel free to not respond to that." announced Anyis, who promptly began walking off towards the target coordinates.

"Mm." responded Mill anyway, seeing a prime opportunity to get under Anyis's skin without even really saying anything. And, sure enough, Anyis's fingers clenched together into a fist as she moved along.

(Battle 4 Start)
Moving further into the ACDC Rogue network areas with confidence, Anyis strolled along, with allies in tow, to search for more things to be deleted. In the course of time, they found said things to be deleted, in the form of a troupe of upgraded Melody, whose ID tags identified them as "Hellody". In addition to that, a Miner shuffled along behind the bouncing menaces, holding its signature mines close, ready to plant.

However, just as they were about to engage, a screech was emitted from the skies, which made them look up to find two red Fishy dashing towards them at top speed from the back!

"Uh oh..." muttered Anyis as she watched the pair of red Fishies divebombing ever closer to her. She hadn't been all that concerned with the viruses in front of her initially, but being victim to a pincer attack was always so troublesome. "Mill! I need ch... Damnit, nevermind." Anyis slapped her palm against her forehead as she sighed, remembering that Mill was largely incapacitated as an Operator right now. At the very least, there was no way he could deliver chips fast enough to counter the incoming Fishy duo. "Magna, do you have ANY way to hide that massive body of yours?" asked Anyis, pleading with the fates for some sort of escape.

"... Since the date of the last search, a new Graphic Model Override has been appended to my systems. It... seems to be optimized for digging." reported Magna after an instantaneous search.

"New GMO...? When was the last time you looked... Ahh, nevermind, that's lucky. Brace for snowfall Magna, we're about to go under!" shouted Anyis to her SP as she raised her arm up into the air. It what was an extreme overreaction to her very subtle movement, the entire battlefield was suddenly inundated with snowfall. Blizzard wasn't even the word. It was far too fierce... and far too short-lived. Next thing anyone knew, everything was coated with a solid layer of snow. Had anyone with Anyis's vision looked up, they'd see a huge gash in the River above from what Anyis hastily ripped out to fuel the snowstorm, but there was no time for that. "Okay Magna, get digging and get digging fast!" ordered the weather witch as she hopped up on her big SP's shoulder.

"Understood Mother Unit, I shall commence subterranean snow traversal." responded Magna as he refreshed his data with the new GMO set, and... his bum was replaced by a giant drill. The end. Wow, Magna's GMO's were always such spectacular changes. For whatever was lacking in flash and style, though, it was made up with function, as Magna's new drill base whirred to life and immediately dropped both him and the Mother Unit beneath the snow pack. The gaping hole created by the golem was a bit lacking in structural integrity, and quickly collapsed behind the digging tandem. With Anyis and Magna moving underground, it was up to the Fishies to see if they could pull up from their dive before they hit the ground, or, god willing, the other viruses...

Noticing the dire implications of the situation, Anyis turned the field into a giant snowfall, confusing the viruses a great deal before both Magna and Anyis burrowed deep into the ground. The Fishies diverged from the path since snow had gotten into their eyes.

One of them crashed into a Miner. The Hellodys decided this was amusing and bounced around. The snow melted a bit and the Miner grumbled, rolling around in the snow to ease his burn. The other Fishy decided to do the same.

The sound of a collision rocked the underground as Magna continued drilling his way through the snow pack, but without any visuals, no one could guess just what kind of collision had occurred. "Ergh... If only Mill could see the PET screen, we'd know what kind of opportunity we have..." sighed Anyis from atop Magna's shoulder, using her arm to shield her face from loose snowfall.

"... The red one... *sniff* crashed into the tall one... It's kinda... *sniff* icy..." muttered Lilia sleepily, whose cold had finally caught up with her. As the lack of energy and drowsiness weighed down on her eyelids, Lilia's head had manged to roll its way out of Mill's jacket hood and flat onto his shoulder. Luckily, this gave Lilia a surprisingly good view of Mill's PET as it hung loosely from his mouth.

"What, really? Thanks Lilia, you're awesome!" gasped Anyis, who was very pleasantly surprised by this status report she wasn't expecting.

"... Yep..." There's a girl who knows how to accept her praises, and with that, Lilia finally nodded off completely on Mill's back.

"Okay Magna, take me up under the viruses. Watch the ice, no digging through that." ordered Anyis of her transport.

"Understood, Mother Unit. I shall approach the destination with optimal expedience." responded Magna as his drill sped up its rotation, sending the digger golem and his passenger flying through the snow like it was water. Before anyone could even think about the time passed, Magna came to a halt in a clump of snow just under the virus group. "We have arrived, Mother Unit."

"Good, you just stay here for a moment. I just need to figure out how to..." said Anyis, only to quickly get lost in thought. It didn't take but a moment for Anyis to realize those thoughts were going nowhere, so she had to ask. "Hey Mill, I know you're tied up and all... but could you figure out some way to send some chips? Please?"

Mill, who had just jogged his way across a street, paused at the question. Of course Anyis was going to need chips against these crazy-ass viruses, but how was he supposed to give them to her? He'd have to be able to keep Lilia up without his hands... Oh boy. It was a good thing she had fallen asleep, at least. After making sure the immediate area was deserted on this quiet mid-morning, Mill leaned over until his back was horizontal. Then, by pushing on her rear just a bit, he had shifted most of her weight to be pressing on his back. Cautiously, oh so ever cautiously, Mill removed his hands from Lilia and... safe. No movement.

"Whew..." sighed Mill as he finally liberated his mouth from his PET. "Okay Anyis, sending some chips now. You're probably going to get more than can use right now, but just store the extras for later so I don't have to do this again."

"Great news, but, uh... Why can't you send more later? Is there a problem?" queried Anyis curiously.

With the full of his sister's chest pressed against his back, Mill could only answer, "... Yeah. Don't worry about it." Thankfully, Mill was able to rationalize most of the awkwardness as a sibling thing, and that his most prevalent thought was the surprise that Lilia was still growing this much at the age of 15. There was no way in hell he was ever going to tell Lilia about this, though. Ever.

"Whatever, thanks for the chips. Feel free to go back to your pack mule status." teased Anyis as she sorted her new arsenal.

"Thanks..." grunted Mill as he resumed the far less sexually awkward piggyback for his sister. At least he was on the same street as their apartment building now.

"Alright, this should do for now." whispered Anyis to herself as she partitioned two particular chips for immediate use. "I'll be back in a moment. Boogeyman, send me up!" said Anyis as she patted her SP's shoulder, then summoned her push-and-shove servant. She put a boot heel on the specter's open hand, pointed an armored fist up into the snow, and without another thought, launched up, through, and above the surface.

Anyis immediately loaded an ElecReel into her gauntlet and pointed the electrical weapon to the ice Lilia mentioned. To Anyis's good fortune, a couple of viruses were... rolling around on the slick terrain? Well, whatever, not her problem. She pulled the weapon's trigger, and just like that an airborne lightning storm rained down on the ice and viruses.

Not one to leave the still largely prevalent snow unused, Anyis quickly triggered her second chip in succession, activating the Avalanche through her palms. As if there wasn't enough snow already on the battlefield, a veritable tidal wave of the cold and fluffy stuff erupted from Anyis's gauntlets and tumbled its way down towards the ground. Anyis didn't really get the time to check which viruses she was throwing her attack at, and much to the misfortune of the Hellodies, they were the lucky winners. A dark shadow cast itself over the virus triplets as the thunderous snowfall rolled its way to the ground on top of them.

Finally, opting to not overstay her welcome, Anyis let herself fall back down into the hole she burst out of. As she slipped back underneath the snow, she punched the frosty wall, causing the gap to cave in behind her and seal the opening.

An electrifying entrance greeted the viruses, as Anyis proceeded to shock one of them to death. The Fishy saw the Navi coming, and went out of the way just in time to see the Miner's deletion. An avalanche followed later, but with the Hellody just really bouncin' around like nobody's business, only one was buried in the snowfall that followed. They were pretty mad about it, and scrambled to smash up Anyis' business. Unfortunately for her, one of the Fishy did indeed catch her, causing a very painful burn, as well as a lesson in dislocation from a Hellody, as she dove back down. (45, Burn5) (60)

"Mother Unit, please state your rate of functionality immediately." inquired Magna hastily as the bruised and burned body of the Mother Unit dropped through the snow tunnel and into his hands. Though his voice failed to convey the feeling, Magna was thoroughly flipping the hell out.

"Kah... I have no idea what you just said, but I'll live..." moaned Anyis as she shoved some snow aside to sit up. Reflexively, she was compelled to massage her back a little, because a Hellody slamming into your spine and sending you down a hole faster than you planned was... uncomfortable, to say the least. Then there was the fact that she had to use her left hand for that, because her right arm was burned by the Fishy, up to the point that the shoulder of her robe was charred as well. "Damnit..." swore Anyis, who was left to choose what to deal with first. "Grr... Whatever, it's not like I need two arms to beat these losers." grumbled Anyis as she gathered a pack of ghost data from above ground into her left hand, clinched her fist, and gave her back a solid pound. Her right arm wasn't unusable, but full motion... Ouch, that hurt. It was a bit ironic how she was suffering from a burn under several feet of snow.

With the Soul Riser having done its work on her spinal pains, Anyis immediately started digging up a new tunnel for her to assail the viruses through. This was very disconcerting to Magna. "Mother Unit, please allow me to dig the tunnel." said the golem as he reversed his drill's spin to rise up closer to her.

She thought about ignoring her SP until he stopped calling her that name, but ultimately Anyis responded flatly, "No, I've got it." She wasn't wrong, either. Even while only digging with her left arm, the snow pack seemed to just move aside with each swipe, as if it was following her orders. "Besides, I have something else for you to do. Mill happened to slot in your chip as one of the extras, so I'm going to give you a chance to use it. You'll know when."

"... Understood. I shall wait." nodded Magna slowly, who couldn't possibly not be troubled by the Mother Unit doing more work than she needed to, regardless of the justification.

"Good answer. Now it's time for a little revenge...!" grinned Anyis, despite the pain of her burned arm. Before she shifted aside the last clump of snow, Anyis re-clinched her left fist, allowing it to freeze over itself into a hardened hand of ice as she triggered her favorite ColdPunch chip. With her weapon set, Anyis burst out from the snow and immediately charged out onto the ice and towards the Fishy2 rolling around on it. Between her native Aqua element and her FloatShoes program, Anyis was no worse off on the slippery terrain, and she used her fist to explain that very clearly to the red flier virus, as she took a hard swing at it without ever stopping her run. Immediately after that, Anyis twisted her head to find the bouncing Hellody viruses, and once she caught a glance of one of the unfrozen ones... "Boogeyman!" barked Anyis, and on that command, the pushy phantom popped into existence right in the face of the Hellody. With a quick flip of its arms, Boogeyman shoved at the virus, sending the forward force straight towards the other unfrozen Hellody, so as to make the two viruses collide. With no time to waste, Anyis turned her attention to the other Fishy2 as she shouted, "Magna, now!".

"Understood!" roared the purple drill thing, and with that, the snowy ground began quaking under the Hellody viruses. Then, like purple magma erupting out of a snow volcano, Magna exploded out of the ground. With the rotational force of his drill still in full effect, the metallic SP continued spinning as he went airborne and... "SHORYUKEN!" yelled Magna in a voice that didn't even sound like his, as he thrusted his GolemHit-imbued fist upward at the group of bouncing viruses.

Not to be the only one not throwing her fist around, Anyis rushed at the other Fishy2 in the midst of Magna's attack. As this was the one that had toasted her arm, Anyis was quite sure that a normal run-by punch wasn't going to do it for this virus. The moment she was in range, Anyis dug the heel of her boot into the snow and halted on the spot, transferring all her motion into her hand as she pulled it forward and outright tried to slug the firey virus.

With all their attacks delivered, both Anyis and Magna quickly returned to the safe haven of the snow pack, as she punched herself through the soft terrain with her ColdPunch and he revved his drill into gear to dig back down. As the reunited, Anyis was quick to ask, "What was that, Magna? That didn't even sound like you."

"I am... unsure, Mother Unit. It seemed to be a trigger-based audio file not native to my systems." explained Magna, just as confused as his master.

"Huh... Maybe you ate a bad Bugfrag or something. Mill can just refresh your systems later, I guess." pondered Anyis as her hand reached to scratch her head... only to be consciously stopped as she realized the ColdPunch was still equipped. Bad hair day wasn't even going to begin to describe the disaster that could've happened there.

Speaking of the packmule, though, Mill was making steady progress, as he could actually see the corner of his tall apartment building over the sides of the surrounding structures. He was a little irritated, though, because he told Anyis to talk him, and yet all he had been hearing is a lot of weird noise and didn't have any idea what was going on as a result. If anything, he was worried that the explosive battle sounds were going to jar Lilia awake... Sigh, the troubles of a big brother.

Facing Xth degree burns and an acute case of pain, Anyis's first priority (after cursing) was to counteract her injuries with the direct application of a healing punch to the back. The maneuver was somewhat awkward but worked like a charm, leaving the Navi prepared to deal out some payback to the remaining viruses.

It started with Anyis digging her way out of the snow. She then used her ColdPunch to send the incapacitated Fishy skidding across the ice like a hockey puck. She turned and sicced Boogeyman on one of the Hellodys only to find it was already flying toward her. Boogeyman appeared in front of it and showed it who was boss, bouncing it right back where it came from. Unfortunately, back where it came from was not close enough to catch it in Magna's ensuing SHORYUKEN, but it looked pretty damn awesome anyway.

Oh, and it pretty much annihilated the second Hellody too.

Preparing herself for when the other Fishy decided to take another pass, Anyis stood ready on the ice with her ColdPunch. The virus approached as she knew it would, and she smashed the flaming Fishy with her icy fist just as planned. She had just enough time afterward to notice the Boogeyman'd Hellody making a return pass at her head to dodge out of the way while the virus bounced off in the other direction. The burn took its toll as Anyis burrowed back down into the ground, but by the time she had met up with Magna again, the effect had worn off.

The burn on Anyis's arm was finally soothed by the cold snow around her, but she was still irritated for an wholly different reason. "Damn those bouncing things... It doesn't even have legs! How do they jump like that?!" she grumbled from atop her drill-equipped SP.

"I do not have enough relevant data to provide an answer to that, Mother Unit." responded Magna as his drilling slowed to a stop.

"That was rheto... Ugh, nevermind." sighed Anyis, who did not want to explain the concept of rhetoric to Magna, of all people and golems alike. "Just bring us above ground so I can beat the hop out of those stupid viruses." The crunch and crackle of ice affirmed the sentiment as Anyis clenched the fist of her ColdPunch.

"Understood. Would you like to meet the Hellody units at the peak of their jump?" asked Magna, in an almost automated fashion.

"... You can do that?" Anyis blinked as she responded, surprised at the useful option.

Magna nodded and answered, "Yes. I recorded the height, velocity, and average trajectory of the jumping on last visual of the virus, then by analyzing the downward force applied to the snow, the-"

"Okay, okay, that's enough, no more math, I don't need to know." interrupted Anyis, waving her unfrozen hand in front of Magna to signal it was time to be quiet. "Just send us up, and get high up there."

"Understood. Please secure yourself, Mother Unit." said Magna, who then spun his drill to reorient himself upright. Anyis wrapped her free arm around Magna's shoulder and shielded her head with the ColdPunch, and she'd soon realize it was for good reason. The sound of rapid whirring permeated the snow, and as soon as Anyis realized it was coming from Magna's drill, the purple golem suddenly rocketed up head-first through the above snow, up to the surface, and just kept going after that. To any observer on the surface, the explosive arrival of Magna could only seem like a dormant volcano sparking to life and blasting a column of purple lava skyward. Whether that view was more terrifying than the reality of a flying Magna, that remained to be seen.

"Whoa... Good job, Magna!" gasped Anyis, who unshielded her face just in time to catch a view of the Hellody that was damaged earlier. "Aha! I'll be getting off here, then!" As Magna reached the apex of his rocket-like propulsion upward, Anyis swung herself up over his shoulder, landed on his collar, and leaped back off that just as quickly as she had got on. Now with only the momentum of her jump keeping her aloft, Anyis lunged at her target, thrusting her ColdPunch forward to shove through both the air resistance and , hopefully, the Hellody's blobby little face.

Taking that swing, though, sucked up any last bit of forward momentum Anyis had left. She immediately started falling downwards, but she was hardly done with her airborne assault. "Boogeyman! One more time!" shouted Anyis, bringing the pushy phantom back into existence just below her. Aware of his purpose, Boogeyman lifted his arms straight up as he floated in the air. The heels of Anyis's boots collided with Boogeyman's palms, and with the best push he could muster, he shoved his summoner back up towards the sky once more before vanishing back from whence he came.

Now rocketing towards the as-of-yet undamaged Hellody, Anyis knew one swing of her fist wasn't going to be enough. And with her going to be descending rapidly at moment now, her only option was to send the Hellody down with her. Anyis shifted her weight to fall down towards the virus, and at her best chance, she swing her ColdPunch straight down like a hammer, with the Hellody as the targeted and unfortunate nail. Since even the great fistfighter Anyis couldn't drive that nail home in one swing, she did the same thing all over again, throwing her hand down on the Hellody's cranium.

At this point, Magna shifted out of his Drill form back to his natural state, and impacted with the ground. The landing was soft thanks to the snow, but that didn't stop the massive purple golem from creating a snow crater several meters wide on his arrival. Anyis was soon to land as well, and her only way to even remotely have a chance at matching that crater was to really pound the hell out of that virus.

And in other news, Mill's PET almost went flying out of his mouth once its speaker started quaking out the sound of Magna landing. Poor Mill's teeth were going to be aching something fierce the next day.

Once they had calculated their plan of attack, Anyis burst out of the ground, with the help of Magna, and went out with a flurry of blows everywhere. Unfortunately, the Hellody were unexpectedly nimble; they knew Anyis was a threat now, and moved appropriately out of her way. Only one of her punches landed, and that was that. After that, they moved to attack Anyis, but she, too, was rapidly evading their repeated attempts to injure her. After that, it was a tie, but with the favor significantly on the Navi's side. The viruses were doing a good job of delaying their deletion, though...

"Argh, damnit! I hate these things!" screamed Anyis as she landed on the snow with ease. While she was quite irate over these bouncing and hopping viruses, Anyis had been through enough angry fights to learn how to retain her presence of mind, which was currently keying her into the fact that deep cracks had formed deep into her ColdPunch. Oh dear lord, how could her most trusted weapon be weakening?

As the Hellodies continued to be pests and bounce around everywhere, Anyis came to a resolution. "... Yeah, right. You're like me. You're at your best when it really matters. These cracks don't matter. All you want to do is slug the hell out of these rubber things! And so do I! Boogeyman! Stuff that bouncer into the snow!" Why Anyis was pep-talking her fist, that's anyone's guess, but if it produced results, hey, cool. Boogeyman wasn't particularly moved by the speech... it was his job to move things, after all. In fact, Boogeyman wanted to make his role perfectly clear to the weaker of the two Hellodies, as he appeared right above the virus and threw a hard shove onto its top to try and drive it down to the ground where his master was waiting.

Anyis quickly chased after the Hellody, lowered her fist, and unloaded. The sheer speed with which she threw her punch was enough alone to start shredding ice shards off the ColdPunch, but it was going to last. Last until it was lodged in that Hellody's gut, at least.

As the last bits of the ColdPunch broke apart after its final attack, Anyis turned around to locate the other Hellody that was still hopping around like a rabbit. "I bet you think that fist was the only thing you had to worry about... Well you're wrong! I saved my strongest punch just for you!" shouted Anyis, purposely fueling her own frustrations with the bouncing breed of virus. She tapped into the River above to give her anger form, and boy did it ever take form. The demonic mass of her Titan spirit quaked to life above her head, attuned to the hatred feeding it and understanding that the Hellody it saw was something on the short order to die. The Titan blasted forward off its ethereal tail, chasing the virus up, down, left, right, and whatever other confounded direction the Hellody tried to go. When it got near enough, the Titan pulled both its arms back behind it, then snapped like a mousetrap, trying to flatten the virus between its massive palms.

"Haha, victory! Eat it, stupid viruses!" laughed Anyis, throwing her armored hands up in the air out of celebration. Then she realized that those viruses had successfully driven her totally up a wall, and her pride was being torn apart over how much joy she was feeling over winning a largely inconsequential battle. Then she lowered her hands, looked over to Magna who didn't think anything of it either way, and proceeded to file this under things that should never be spoken about again.

While Anyis and Magna gathered up the spoils of war under Anyis's self-induced awkward silence, Mill had done something incredible: he made it all the way back to the apartment building with his sister dead asleep on his back. Never before had he been so glad to look up upon this multi-storied building. Granted, he didn't usually have to do so with a sibling on his back and a PET in his mouth, but it gave him some new perspective on his home regardless.

Mill soon arrived at the main elevator, which posed a new challenge: how was he supposed to hit the call button? Lilia would fall on her butt if he tried using his hands, he couldn't keep his balance up enough like this to use a foot...

*ding*

Oh, lucky, the eleva- "Ummmm... Hi?" Of course there was someone coming down with the elevator. It wasn't going to just come down on its own. Damnit. Among the many possible reasons as to why this young adult woman was leaving the building, surely running into this spectacle was not it.

"Ri." responded Mill, with his teeth sunken into his PET's handle.

"Umm... Which floor?" asked the woman cautiously.

"Ru." grunted Mill.

"Two?" questioned the woman, unable to decipher Mill's PET-corked speech. Mill simply nodded this time instead of subjecting this woman to more of his hopeless attempts at talking, and the woman obliged that response by pressing the appropriate button. She then walked out of the elevator slowly, casting an awkward look over Lilia, before opening the way up for Mill.

"Rank 'ou." grunted Mill, and the sense between both people was that this would never, ever be mentioned again. The elevator door closed, and the world moved on.

After the short elevator trip, Mill stumbled out, walked down the hall, and reached the apartment. He punched in the manual code for the lock with the shell of his PET (this took 4 tries), and once that beep of confirmation sounded, the handle gave way, and the door opened. He. Had. Made. It.

First order of business? Spit his PET out of his mouth and onto the couch. "Bleh...! I don't know if brushing my teeth 3 times tonight is going to fix that taste..." If Anyis needed something, it could wait. Second order of business: get Lilia to bed. Thankfully, the door to her room wasn't closed. Lilia's room wasn't extravagant by any means, and as the brother invading it, Mill was very much okay with that. He was also very much okay with actually getting his sister off his back, so he quickly proceeded to gently lie her down on top of her bed, and for the first time in a few hours, stand upright.

"Oh god... Glad that's finally over." muttered Mill under his breath, twisting and stretching as he did so. He looked down at Lilia, and boy, if he couldn't see her breathing, he'd be worried for how dead asleep she was. Must be one nasty cold that had her down. On that note, Mill walked out of the room and closed the door, because the last thing he could do to take care of his sister was catch her cold. That would be just stupid.

Now, the only matter left to address during this pit stop at home was Lilia's schoolbag, which was still strapped over Mill's shoulder. He removed it as he sat down at the couch, laying it down next to him as he picked up his own purple PET. "So then, I have my hands and voice again. Miss me?" sighed Mill, making fun of his own recent experience.

"So long as you can upload this chip data that's been piling up, yes, I missed you." answered Anyis flatly.

"Your lack of input proved detrimental, Operator." said Magna, presenting a much more factual alternative to the question.

"... Good enough, I guess." shrugged Mill as he proceeded to clear up the backlog in his PET's temporary memory. "So how much farther until you get to the pharmacy network?"

"Assuming there won't be any viruses getting back up to the default Net level, then just a little farther. I'm pretty sure the prescription order would be placed and processed in time if you went ahead and left now." explained Anyis as the last piece of zenny data disappeared from her hands.

"Oh, great." responded Mill as he stood up, brushing aside Lilia's schoolbag in the process and triggering a thought in his head. "Wait... Crap, hold on." Mill unzipped the bag, and produced from inside it Euthenia's PET. "I'm really sorry, I totally forgot you were in there."

"That's alright~! I was just watering the flowers in the mean time~" hummed Euthenia happily, not the least bit bothered by her short term of solitary confinement.

"Flowers? What fl..." Mill didn't finish that question, because it didn't take much effort to see that the inside of the PET was carpeted with flowers and various other types of decorative vegetation. "... Nevermind."

"Mill, could you take me with you~? It'll be so quiet with Lilia asleep..." begged Euthenia randomly, offering one of her best cute faces as she asked.

"... Uh, sure, I guess. Carrying two PETs will be simple after dragging my sister halfway across town, if anything..." muttered Mill with a wry smile on his face. With that in mind, Mill popped Euthenia's smaller Link PET model into his jacket pocket, grabbed his (slightly chewed up) older PET in his hand, and walked back out the door, locking the door behind him and granting Lilia a quiet nap. "Alright Anyis, time to get going. The pharmacy's only a few blocks from here, and that won't take long when I'm only dragging myself around."

"It had better not, the last thing I need is you getting fat." laughed Anyis as she motioned Magna to follow her further along.

(Battle 5 Start)
Just as when everything was starting to turn out fine for Mill and Anyis (and Magna), the navi suddenly found herself ambushed by a group of Spikey2s, growling down at their preys. However, the flames burning in the viruses' mouth suddenly fizzled out and Anyis could suddenly feel a drop in temperature. The Spikeys began to shake in cold and whimpered away to warm their nearly-frozen bodies.

And before anyone realized...It began to snow in the quiet ACDC network.

"A...AAA...ACHOOOO"

A large sneeze echoed through the snowy network as a lone navi began to walk towards Anyis' direction. The navi was rather short in height, shorter than Anyis, but he was packed in terms of layers of clothing. Sweater over a jacket over a trenchcoat over a sweater vest over a raincoat, he clearly wasn't dressed with fashion in mind. On top of all those clothes, the navi had a long white scarf decorated with aqua blue snoeflakes, almost wrapped entirely around his upper body (If one could tell the difference with so much clothes on him) and had enough to drag behind his feet

"Ahh...I wish I could end this darn fl...fl...FLUUCHOOO"

The navi's words were muffled by his thick, woven cough mask, but it wasn't worn completely through as it revealed his bright red nose. His emblem, which was placed on the earflap of his beanie, was a nose dripping down a large drop of water(?)...Which would be an obvious indication of what this navi was themed.

"...A navi?"

As soon as he saw Anyis, the navi tucked a paper bag close to his chest and his comically large blue eyes narrowed to stare. "W-who are you, what do...do...DOOCHUUU...want with me?" The navi was suddenly intimidated by Anyis' mere presence...or it may have been the giant golem standing beside her that was doing the job. "I-I bought this medicine with my money. I-I can't let you hav...Why aren't you shivering like everyone else?!"

The once cowering tone of voice shifted to a more demanding tone as "FluMan" began to approach Anyis. "Y-you have some medicine that keeps you from getting cold?! G-give it to me please!...No, you're not gonna give something that g-g-g-GREACHUUU...I-I-I-I just have to take it from you!"

The snowfall soon began to brew up as fierce winds began to take in the effect, instantly covering half the network deep in snow. "FluMan" dropped the bag of medicine and stretched both his arms out as a form of readying for battle...Though due to the layer of clothes, so little of his arm was shown.

"I-I'm coming fo...for...fo...CHUUUUU!"

"... What?" was all Mill could manage. "I'm sorry, could anyone recap that for me?"

"He wants me to beat him up." answered Anyis as a matter-of-fact.

"The foreign unit requests to copy the Mother Unit's files on lower-bound temperature resistance." answered Magna very specifically.

"He wants to be friends~!" answered Euthenia with a smile.

Mill took a long pause after processing the answer from his sister's Navi, but ultimately disregarded it. "Uh, right, just do what you want, Anyis. Whatever this guy wants can't be more important than getting Lilia's prescription."

"See, now there's some logic I can agree with. We've got priorities, and this guy is literally asking to be beaten up. Who am I to not oblige that?" nodded Anyis, who was very satisfied by how this conversation was going.

"It doesn't take much to justify a fight for you, does it?" questioned Mill rhetorically. "You've been doing fine without much of my input so far, so I'm just going to send you some chips and leave it at that. I have some questions I want to ask Euthenia in the mean time..."

"Oh? I hope I can be of service~" responded Euthenia happily.

Anyis simply shook her head at the prospect of playing 20 questions with her sister, and left it at that. She had someone else to deal with first, after all. "Hey, puffy guy!" shouted Anyis, referencing FluMan's many layers of clothes. "You want what I've got? Come and get it!" As she continued her taunting, Anyis equipped the MagBolt Mill had sent a moment ago and pointed it at FluMan. Power flowed through the electromagnet, creating a magnetic field that pulled and tugged at FluMan in an effort to drag him in and shock him with the current fueling the chip.

"I do have to admit, though... I don't have anything that keeps me from getting cold." said Anyis as she got closer to FluMan, be it through her own movements if not the MagBolt. "That's because I am the cold!" With that, Anyis's gauntlet encased itself in a thick sheet of ice, and with her newly-triggered ColdPunch, threw a hard punch at FluMan's face. Inwardly admitting that punching some 5-ish layers of clothes wouldn't accomplish much, Anyis pulled her fist back and launched the ColdPunch once more at FluMan's face. If nothing else, maybe his sneezing would get plugged up by a broken nose.

"You came to the wrong girl if you want to escape the cold, puffy guy!" laughed Anyis as she triggered her third and final chip, causing a wall of snow to erupt between her and FluMan. With the pre-existing snow there as a resource, the structure of the summoned SnowFort became extra stable and acted as a solid impasse between the two Navis.

As if the SnowFort wasn't enough, Magna, fairly quiet amidst Anyis's attack on FluMan, crashed down between her and the wall of snow. "Mother Unit, I do not advise antagonizing an aggressive enemy unit. It is imperative that you remain undamaged as much as possible, so please allow me to defend you."

"... I'm surprised you actually worry enough about this guy to consider him a threat, but sure, do what you want." shrugged Anyis as she watched Magna erect his own shield and barrier around himself.

"Thank you Mother Unit, I will not disappoint." nodded Magna as he watched the snow wall and everything around it.

FluMan was fully determined to get the makeshift medicine that kept Anyis from getting cold, gentling placing down the bag of his own medicine down to the ground and awkwardly wrapping the up the rest of the scarf around his body. But because of all these extra preparations, it gave Anyis the chance to take the initiative.

The puffy navi was quickly dragged by the Magbolt and received a shock treatment. "Owieowie!" But just before Anyis was about to throw her ColdFist, she (indirectly) stated that she had nothing that kept her from getting the cold. "O-Oh? If that's the case...W-What's the point in continuing this figh--NARF" When FluMan tried to reason with Anyis, he only got a face full of icy fist into his face.

She sure wasn't kidding about her being cold.

But as the navi went for the second helping of the attack, FluMan's bright red nose began to tingle as he was on the verge of yet another sneeze. "Ah...AHH...AHHPATHACHAHICHUUUUUUU" The sheer force of the sneeze sent Anyis flying through the field, covered in...what anyone else would imagine, and causing her next ColdFist to fail due to the distance apart. [-30 / Microburst]

However, as soon as the she landed back on ground, she found that the "liquid" covering her body had already frozen up and restricted her bodily movements. But before it became too serious, Anyis was able to set the SnowFort and the loyal Magna was already in place to guard his master.

"Urgh, my nose feels so sensitive now...If that's how you're gonna play! F-f-f-FINECHUUU"

FluMan was definitely enraged by Anyis, but the first thing he had to do first was to blow his nose with tissues after tissues. In a blink of an eye, two piles of used tissues was already amassed and...began to move on its own. Forming into a familiar, snowman-like structure, the "TissueMan" began to throw snowballs with their twig-like tissue arms. [-20 / -20]

Though all the snowball was easily repelled by Magna's barrier, FluMan's next attack came as a surprise when a giant cloud was formed above the golem's head. "Take thi--SACHUUU" The cloud began to pour down small icicles down onto Magna and began to move up towards Anyis. Thankfully, the last bit of the barrier warded the attack off while Anyis was able to dodge the attack easily.

"Argh, what the hell is this...?!" screamed Anyis in disgust as she could only watch the... nasal semi-liquid freeze her arms to her body. The fact that she was bound by FluMan's snot was horrific enough by itself, but the matter of her being frozen was just utterly embarrassing. What was it that she said earlier? That she "was the cold"? Yeah, well, the cold just got frozen.

The sheer frustration visible on her face gave Mill plenty of reason to be concerned. "Uh... Anyis? You okay?" asked Mill cautiously, equally worried about both his Navi's temper and how much trouble she was about to get herself into.

"I'm going to destroy him." announced Anyis, completely disregarding her Operator's question. Apparently Anyis's anger was plugging her ears up.

"... Okay then, I'll just leave it to you for now since you can't hear me." shrugged Mill. "Magna, you might want to back off before you're caught in the crossfire."

"Understood, Operator." acknowledged Magna as he slid his way behind the Mother Unit. He already had a hunch of what was going to happen next.

"Anyis is the scariest of all of us when she's angry~" giggled Euthenia as she enjoyed the spectacle from the video feed Mill had set up in her PET.

Anyis had been angry before. Heck, she had even been this angry before. However, something was different this time. She understood that she was angry. Why she was angry. And, by god, she knew how she was going to vent this burning anger onto FluMan's soon-to-be corpse. She was totally seeing red.

... Literally. A red visor had formed over Anyis's eyes, and that could only mean one thing: MeleeCross. Her useless, frozen arms became useless, frozen, bandaged arms, further compounding the uselessness of that situation as her clothes took on the red and black palette of the Cross. Most importantly, though, her gauntlets were now free of their icy prison, floating at her sides with the semi-formless duo of ghosts possessing them.

The icy prison was not long to last, though, because Anyis had additionally brought the heat to this snowball fight. "This is what you get for freezing the cold! I will melt you!" shouted Anyis, her free-floating gauntlets quivering in anticipation in place of her frozen, bandaged hands. "Spirit Fist! Red Hot Phantom!" With that command, the two gauntlet ghosts ignited. As they had previously been invisible to everyone but Anyis, it had to be jarring to see a pair of burning flames with eyes erupt into existence. As the heat from their bodies beat down on the ice block encasing Anyis's arms, the ghosts converted themselves into thrust, propelling the gauntlets into the snow pack, melting it on contact and leaving a trail of lava in their wake. With the speed and force akin to rockets, the flaming gauntlet ghosts quickly raced past FluMan and his TissueMen before looping around and returning to Anyis's side.
