GigaMan gets... GIGATIZED

Infuriated and pressing on despite his injuries, GigaMan found himself passing through a better maintained area of the net before too much longer. A broad path or well-kept ground was edged on either side by two broad green fields, each with a small, artful fountain set into the middle of them. It would make a nice sports or play area ,probably.

Just ahead of him, a small huddle of yellow helmets came into view, apparently conversing. alongside them was a large four-wheeled machine that looked like some cross between a tank and a monster-truck. At first he could see five more or less normal metools alongside the tank — though two of them were wearing bullet masks rather than carrying their normal pick-axes... but as he got a little loser her could see that they were all apparently listening to the instructions of a fifth. This one was wearing a cloth wrap tied about itself, somewhat like a cloak, though it was ragged at the edges and looked well worn. It was talking in indiscernible viral language, scattered with a regular seasoning of 'meeps', and gesturing in different directions with its pickaxe. The tone sounded authoritative and serious, but vaguely comforting at the same time. The other metools nodded to it, and to each other.

The cloak-wearing leader nodded one more time, somewhat solemnly to them, then turned and began to stride away up the road, cloak catching slightly in the breeze, while one of the others jumped up into the pilot seat of the large tank contraption — the cockpit seemed perfectly sized for a metool, as it turned out. They all started to fan out, as though beginning to search for something, but saw gigaMan almost as soon as they did. there was a tense moment of surprise, as they watched the newcomer.

Mettank V1Mettank V1 (Mettank)

A Mettank is a combination of the Metool, Catack, and Armadillo viruses. It looks a lot like a regular Catack, with several notable differences. The main body of the tank is slightly smaller, and the tank's driver is very clearly an actual Metool, though it doesn't bear its signature weapon. The vehicle itself is colored to match the Metool-driver's Helmet; thus the most basic version is gold with green trim, while more powerful versions will be colored differently to follow suit. The tank itself retains the same basic design as a Catack, except that its triangular treads have been replaced with four almost comically over-sized monster-truck style armored wheels, and its main gun now sports two long, narrow tines jutting out vertically up and down from a point close to the muzzle. These make it look rather like a giant version of a Metool's pickaxe, and the cannon is also now housed in a vertical pivot that allows it to adjust up and down, or even swing with enough force to strike the lower tine to the ground.

Most of the time, the Mettank moves very slowly, and it has been seen to activate a defensive mode wherein the Metool-driver's helmet expands to a jumbo size large enough to cover the entire tank in its protective dome. This does, of course, render the virus utterly blind, and when specifically guarding like this it can no longer attack or move.

It has also been seen, occasionally, to display sudden feats of unexpected speed, where it will rev up, then suddenly ram a target. At these times, its helmet defense covers the tank, though it recedes again as soon as the attack run loses momentum.

Area: All

HP: 260
Element: Null

Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Null + Stun 1 + Blast 2
Primary Attack Accuracy: B
Primary Attack Description: The Mettank blasts a target with an explosive shell from its main gun, which stuns targets.

Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Null + Piercing + Ground Attack + Wide Attack
Secondary Attack Accuracy: B
Secondary Attack Description: Slams the pick-tine of its main gun to the ground, causing a large shockwave.

Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Null + Group Attack + Breaking + Impact + Movement
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: B
Tertiary Attack Description: The Mettank revs up and rushes one target with sudden speed. It activates its MetGuard when it begins to rush, and deactivates it again as soon as the attack run ends. The Mettank does not return to its original position at the end of the attack run, but remains where it stopped.

Special: MetGuard: The Metool's Helmet expands rapidly to cover the entire tank in a protective dome. Assumes MetalBody and can hold this guard for any number of actions. Activating the guard takes an action, but deactivating it to attack does not. Mettank cannot move or attack while MetGuard is active, however its tertiary attack ignores this. Attacks from below bypass MetGuard for normal damage.
Special: Slow to move, but can move and dodge while attacking.
Note: MetalBody is identical to IronBody, but does not hamper movement. Non-Break attacks deal 0 damage, and Break attacks deal double.

((I'm sorry I should have listed my bounty request, but regardless I am going to attempt to flee this battle.))

Finding himself face to face with even more viruses from the Metool family reality hit GigaMan like a slap in the face. He was exhausted, weakened, and out numbered. Even if he could recover fully with Jilius's help the battle ahead would prove rough even with an enraged temperament. "Maybe you were right." He muttered in a low tone. "Let me fight elsewhere. I still have steam I need to blow off. Perhaps, we will log out and then send me right back around the area we started in?"

"If you insist, but you should try to get out of there first. I'm sure they won't hesitate to put you through the ringer."

"Yea..." GigaMan rudely turned his back towards the new set of opponents. Fueled by rage, and disappointment the weakened Navi took off in a burst of speed, running back in the direction he had come from, hoping to escape the grasp of battle with the Metool gang behind him. He kept turning his head to check the success of his retreat. It would be very painful for him not to get away.
——————————————————
Summary

1. FLEE
2. RUN
3. RETREAT
The group watched, uncertain, as gigaMan assessed the situation, then opted for a tactical retreat. As he fled, the hurried clanking of another stove virus coming from somewhere far off gave sight to a very delayed virus trying to join the others, but altogether too late and the dubiously motivated navi made good his getaway and found an area somewhat less inhabited. It didn't sound like any of them had pursued him.

((Escape successful))
"Log me out then log me back in where we started." GigaMan commanded upon getting free of any noticeable trouble. Julius complied, causing he Navi to vanish in a rising beam of golden light. Moments later, the golden light fell towards the area where the junk data remains of his original Metool welcoming party happened. "One more battle... who wants to be my prey."

((Requesting battle 1... again...))
(OldStove Bounty))
With a quick retreat, a return to his PET for a recharge and then dropping back into the net, GigaMan didn't quite arrive in the same place he'd started in last time; this section of the net was set around with a number of small houses and side-streets, though GigaMan himself arrived in the middle of a park field that backed several streets. It was a mixture of paths and grassy stretches, while a single, solitary children's climbing frame made a lone piece of play equipment off to his left. More interesting was that there appeared to be a green crystal underneath the frame, partially protected by the bars.

To his other side, GigaMan could see a cactus virus, swaying back and forth on the grass, just now turning to look at the new arrival, while a pair of stove viruses edged slowly out of the back yards of two different houses, moving their way towards him with their grills aglow. Just behind, a trundling sound alerted him to a fourth threat, in the form of a small, mobile tank virus, which had just peeked in from a lane way and decided that the scene was worth investigating.

GigaMan was still full of anger. Anger from having to run, anger from having the strange Metool turn it's back on him. Angry at his own weakness. Power was the only driving factor now. Julius was coming along nicely learning the basics of virus busting. The two were growing somewhat aquainted to each others style of doing things. He surveyed the landscape, and opted to change it for a better view. First he activated his FireWalker.GMO, then tapped into the SetLava program. The grassy/normal terrain adjacent to GigaMan quickly flashed over to a more harmful pool of lava.

I'm going to send you TwinFang and Shotgun, make it work for now." Julius slotted in the two chips.

The command further fueled the Navi's irritation. He activated the chip, and loaded a fang in each of his blasters. With a twist of his body the first fang was fired at the tank virus behind him. It glid towards the target covered in a feint golden glow that gave it just a little boost in power as it looked to splinter and pierce the Beetanks armor. The second part of the attack was aimed at the Cacty to his right. This one flew with no boost but still looked to end its digital life.

He moved swiftly over to where the Cacty had stood, or still stood depending on the result of his attack. Once there he lifted his right blaster and fired off a powerful shotgun shell. The blast chased down the closer of the OldStove viruses.

Gigaman, quick to attack, took his initiative to attack, sending a white sharp fang at the attacking viruses. Gigaman managing to skewer the Beetank behind him and delete it just before the viruses had a chance to attack, but could not curve his second fang just enough to skewer the cactus-like virus in the same attack. Angered by this, the Cactus began to swing it's body about, head just barely attached as it swung it's head at the invading netnavi, head rolling like a ball and smashing into Gigaman, spikes and impact to boot before it's head teleported back onto the body. The two OldStoves also began to move in on Gigaman in a pincer attack, the mobile stoves belching flames that flash burned the Grass into ash, panels becoming slighty-burnt soil as they belched flames. Giga, however, was quick to feint to one of the nearby Normal panels and fire off a shotgun, blasting his intended target and managing to catch the other in the buckshot from the splash. The Cacty menacingly shook it's segmented body at Giga, even though it knew full well it was about to share the fate of the other viruses

GigaMan was barley phased by the Cacty's attack. Instead it continued to fuel his aggression. "Claws!"

"RageClaw1 battlechip, slot in, download." Julius inserted the chip into the slot, feeling the end of the battle coming as well.

"The whole net will soon know my name again. I am GigaMan, you should have ran when you seen me." His claws gleamed in the light a little after the seemingly became sharper upon the activation of the chip. Ignoring any sign of defense he rushed the remaining virus, and attacked with a rapid combo of slashes. All three came wide, one first from the left, if it connected the blades would shred the viruses flesh like a knife cutting cake. Then a claw attack with his right, the bladed fingers sliced through the air, horizontally tracing an invisible line through the cacty. If one or both attacks missed, he hoped to end the battle with a second attack from his left hand.

If the battle was in fact finished, GigaMan would approach the GMD and attempt to open it.
As much as the remaining cactus may have threatened and intended to give GigaMan another good thump, the infected navi was faster and quickly sliced the virus to pieces with a flurry of bestial blows. A chunk of cactus got stuck to his claws and coalesced into chip data of dubious value. With the pests out of the way, the navi occupied himself examining the data crystal, still safe and sound under its climbing frame. It was a little awkward getting to it, unless GigaMan had something against clambering about in odd positions like a child and simply wrecked the play equipment, but one way or the other she was soon able to access the crystal, which resolved into as second chip for his troubles.
