The Powie leapt into the air again but Validus took it out with his quickdraw Cannon before it landed. Scanning the field, he found some zenny and battlechip data leftover from the OldStove. Excellent.

Three Swordys appear in sight, seeming to escort a rather pompous Melody with a crown on its head. At any rate, spotting Validus made the Swordys worry for their "lord" and they proceeded to get in a defensive stance in front of the Melody.

Tsujsa slotted in a shotgun chip as Validus unslung his Cannon and brought it up to bear. The weapon morphed into it's shotgun configuration as Validus got into position for a perfect shot. Once he had found the sweet spot, he depressed the trigger, sending a hail of bullets at the enemy.
Right after the shotgun attack, the NetOp sent data for an Aquaneedle. The cannon then morphed into a lance, a targetting screen popping out on the side. Validus set his targets by touching his fingers on the screen, locking onto all three of the swordies. He aimed it upwards 60 degrees or so, and fired the needles, each needle aimed for each individual swordy.
Summary:

2. Shotgun - 50 dmg - Swordy-NA (Possible splash to Swordy-NB)
3. Aquaneedle - 3 x 20 dmg (1 on each swordy)

The combination of Shotgun and Aquaneedle made noticeable damage onto the Swordy Group, but from the sheer concentration of attacking, Validus didn't see the enemy coming in for the attack! The Lord Melody sneaked up from behind and jumped on the navi to "squash" it, but fortunately, only inflicted few damages. The Swordy moved from his position to continue protecting his Lord from further danger.

Tsujsa breathed a sigh of relief before pulling out the Cannon chip. "Take out the enemy now. I think one shot should snuff it out." The Netop remarked as he slotted in the cannon chip.

POOM. The Swordy was deleted, leaving the Melody unprotected. It tried to jump on Validus but it wasn't very successful.

"Let's burn the thing to a crisp!" Tsujsa said as he slotted in the fireburn chip into the PET. Validus's weapon began to change into a new shape. This time it was in the form of a flamethrower. Charging in, Validus laughed maniacally as he bathed the virus in flames.
Truly, the effect of gas and fire can have adverse effects on a Navi.
As soon as the Flame attack had died down, Validus shifted away, still pointing the weapon at the virus. "Activating Valor Beam." The Navi said as he flipped a switch on the side of the weapon. The Flamethrower reverted back into it's normal state as Validus pulled the trigger, building up energy at the barrel. And then...
A lance of energy streaked towards the virus as Validus released the trigger. The beam sparking a luminescent white glow as it lanced across cyberspace.

Validus activated his newly acquired Fireburn and did, in fact, "bathe the virus in flames". However, leaping free from the fire like a round chubby phoenix, the Melody landed hard on Validus's head again in a show of its skill and majesty. As it bounded off, Validus was able to catch it with his Valor Beam and delete it, leaving some zenny behind.

Validus slung his rifle as the music note-like virus was deleted from existance by a hole shredded in it by the Valor Beam.
