New Navi

Angered at the hit, the Metool?A organizes another tri-strike with its two strange ally viruses. Suddenly, on the way to Tennisman, the attacks bounce back. (20 each) Too distracted by this strange outcome, the third one is too distracted to avoid the Energybomb! But instead of deleting it, the energybomb simply erases the colors of the virus, leaving a wireframe where the damaged virus had been a second before. Meanwhile, the attacks had revealed the Netplay. The viruses' eyes narrow, recognizing what had happened, and they shake their pickaxes at Tennisman in anger.

Metool?A: 20 HP
Metool?B: 60 HP
Metool?C: WIREFRAME'D?!

Tennisman: 120 HP
Netplay: 40 HP
"This seems familiar somehow..." Tennisman trailed off.

He had sworn that he had seen the resultant wireframe from the virus somewhere and had a case of deja vu but ever since the incident, he had never been able to fully recover his memory of the past; only fragments of his past remained intact.

"Think you can finish it with an Ace Serve?" Desmond asked.

Tennisman passed a questioning glance behind him and turned his attention back towards the Metool. He prepped his arm cannon for the quick burst-fire setting. Tennisman pulled out his racquet and looked at the two Metools. If his attacks were dead-on accurate, it would be just barely enough to end this. Stalling was a bad idea. He needed to hit them fast and hard.

"Ace Serve." Tennisman stated.

The trio of tennis balls necessary for his signature attack were shot up in a muffled bang. Tennisman arched his back tensely to execute three rapid swings. The balls descended and the installed process upgrade activated. His arm automatically targeted each ball perfectly, sending them to their intended targets as yellow rockets. The sound from the separate hits chained together to form something akin to a fierce crash. Tennisman regained control of his arm again, sheathing his racquet. His attack ended but was it enough to end the battle?

"I think you missed one." Desmond said.

Tennisman checked the other side of the field to see what had transpired.

1 - Ace Serve Metool?A (30 dmg), Metool?B (2 x 30 dmg)
2 - dodge
3 - dodge
As the metools are destroyed, the wireframems remain. Suddenly, color begins to creep across them, as the Metools are revived and powered up, their helmets cracking from the force of the creatures below them. Whatever these were, they weren't metools.

MetoolAvatarA: 100 HP
MetoolAvatarB: 100 HP
MetoolAvatarC: 100 HP

Tennisman: 120 HP
Netplay: 40 HP
The feeling of deja vu had passed and this was a completely new sight for him. He was sure that he had never encountered these viruses before. These new versions seemed significantly stronger than their previous forms. This fight was dragging on for far too long.

"Ringlog and Zapring." Tennisman said.

The chips manifested themselves at the same time; a tall wooden stump appeared at Tennisman's feet as his arm transgressed into a tighly banded tesla coil. He didn't attack yet. Netplay was still active and blocking his direct line of fire, especially the use of his Ringlog. He waited for it to come down before attacking. He could already see it destabilizing on its own and knew it would fall of its own accord at any moment. He got ready to kick over the log and fire off the Zapring at a moment's notice.

"Let's show these mothers how we roll!" Desmond snickered.

Tennisman groaned slightly at his operator's pun. He noticed that his limited number of remaining chips may prove to be a problem and he would need to make his attacks count. He whisted and activated another of his process upgrades: his ballboy. With its help, Tennisman could free his mind from the pressures of conservation and focus on winning. A short Mr. Program zipped up to Tennisman and gave its signature wink before rushing away. The game was now set for the second match.

"Your court." Tennisman thought.

1 - Ringlog1 MetoolAvatarB, MetoolAvatarB (50 dmg)
2 - Zapring MetoolAvatarA (40 dmg + stun)
3 - Ballboy (recycles 3 chips that miss)
Hitting with all of his attacks, Tennisman is stunned as a single attack from one of the enemies takes down his netplay, the enemy quickly dodging the anticipated return strike.

MetoolAvatarA: 60 HP <Stun>
MetoolAvatarB: 50 HP
MetoolAvatarC: 50 HP

Tennisman: 120 HP
Netplay: DELETED
"Minibomb" Tennisman said, already arcing back his hand.

The blue bomb appeared in his hand as he flung it forward in a fast pitch to the stunned virus. Its Minibomb's weight, size and shape made it ideal for lobbing but Tennisman was still comfortable with throwing it as he would a tennis ball. If he were more confident he would have served it instead but without Netplay active he felt exposed.

"Health readings." Tennisman requested while in a bit of a run.

"Umm... 60, 50, and 50." Desmond replied, "You got this, man. No worries."

Tennisman felt differently but considered that his operator might be right. He knew what he wanted next, "Shotgun and Guard."

There was no chance of him catching two viruses in the single shotgun burst so he simply aimed for one of them and fired it without a second thought. No hesistation, no foresight, no planning. He needed to rely on his instincts.

"Niceee..." Desmond slurred. Tennisman didn't think his performance in battle was particularly noteworthy but praise wasn't a rarity around his operator.

He infused his raquet, already in his free hand, with the Guard chip; he willed the strings to strengthen and endure whatever attack would come his way. Be it a thrown pickaxe or even a shockwave, Tennisman was ready to return it.

1 - Minibomb MetoolAvatarA (60 dmg)
2 - Shotgun MetoolAvatarB (50 dmg)
3 - Guard1 (reflects up to 60 dmg)
Taking down two of the strange Metools, a revolving white orb is left where they were, floating away. The third metool has its attack reflected breaking a hole in its helmet and showing the same white material.

MetoolAvatarA: DELETED?
MetoolAvatarB: DELETED?
MetoolAvatarC: 10 HP

Tennisman: 120 HP
Netplay: DELETED
"What..." Tennisman's voice drifted off as he stared at the strange viral cores.

"KILL IT." Desmond yelled, "KILL IT WITH FIRE."

Tennisman had no idea what to make of the situation; a battle with a trio of mets had gone horribly wrong and had turned into some kind of war of attrition. Defensive strategies were a waste of time. He wanted to end this now. He became aware of an internal reset in his own core and found that he could use Ace Serve again. It was perfect timing.

Three balls were shot up and then shot across the field, one for each enemy barring his way. Tennisman sheathed his racquet and aimed his arm cannon straight.

"Cannon," He said, "And continue slotting in chips until this ends."

He could no longer hold himself back. He sighed and opened fire.

1 - Ace Serve MetoolAvatarA, B, C (30 dmg)
2 - Cannon whatever (40 dmg)
3 - Cannon whatever (40 dmg)
CLOSE FIRE! IT BE DEAD!

MetoolAvatarA: DELETED?

Tennisman's arm cannon stopped unloading shells onto his enemies. He wasn't sure if there was anything left of his enemies to fight. It didn't look like there was anything else except some zennies and chip data.

Desmond confirmed it, "Yeah, we're done."

Tennisman gave a small breath of relief and closed his eyes for a moment before recomposing himself.

"Yeah, that was long." Desmond noted.

Tennisman nodded his head in silent agreement.

"So we off now?" His operator asked.

Tennisman took one last look at the field before nodding again and walking off, his breathing heavy from overexertion.

((Battle 9))
(If the "long" complaint was just IC, I'm okay with it. If it wasn't, count your lucky stars that you at least get modded as often as you do.)

A trio of heelnavi's appears, ready to attempt to mug our hero! Pulling out weapons, they all take aim at the unfortunately outnumbered Tennisman!

HeelnaviA: 150 HP <Equip: Cannon>
HeelnaviB: 150 HP <Equip: Rageclaw>
HeelnaviC: 150 HP <Equip: Shotgun>

Tennisman: 120 HP
"Wasap? What do they want?" Desmond asked.

The grim looking navis standing in his way reminded Tennisman of his previous encounters with Heelnavis. None of them were pleasant and he knew that this wasn't going to turn out well. He took up a battle ready stance to defend himself. He took note of their weapons. Two were armed with guns and one seemed satisfied with a set of bladed claws.

"Serious?" Desmond said, "Fine, let's do this then."

"Zapring and Energybomb." Tennisman whispered.

One of the Heelnavis flinched a little, setting off Tennisman's first attack. A halo of sparking energy shot across the field to the navi in the middle. Melee fighting wasn't Tennisman's specialty and he wanted to deal with that one first. The gun-wielding navis took aim, prompting Tennisman to withhold his energybomb and change tactics.

He held out his palm and spoke in a normal voice, "Netplay."

A bouncy net sprang from the ground, sectioning off Tennisman from his enemies. With this, he felt more comfortable using his chip.

Tennisman snatched the lumpy energybomb as it flashed into existence in front of him. It buzzed with instability and overflowing power. It was the appropriate size and roughly spherical so he could still serve it but it bothered him a little that he couldn't bounce it first.

"Less wasted time..." He mumbled.

"What was that?" Desmond asked.

Tennisman shook his head in dismissal as he gracefully tossed up the bomb and struck it down towards the same clawed Navi with a smashing serve. It didn't feel like it hit his racket's 'sweet spot' but it was as close as he felt he could get.

1 - Zapring HeelnaviB (40 dmg + stun)
2 - Netplay (100 hp reflective net)
3 - Energybomb HeelnaviB (40x3 dmg)
((ZOMG AND A HALF. ALMOST A YEAR LONG REVIVAL. Just a few things:

One, since it's been almost a year, about a bazillion rules have been added and/or changed. The biggest of these is the change to the SigAtk system. You'll have to look over the rules and stuff to get all of your current sig stuff converted. Right now, I can say that your BallBoy effect is a banned effect, but Ace Serve and Netplay should both be easily converted. Other than that, there really haven't been any major changes that currently effect you right at this moment, but it may be wise to read up on some of the new stuff, as some may effect you in the near future.))
(It's Pocketttttttttttttttt! WELCOMEZ!)
((I think one of the mods said I can just finish this one last battle with my old sigs since it would be bad to leave me with nothing. I'm going to jack out afterwards anyways so I don't think it's such a big deal.))
(That seems fair)

Stunned, the second navi can only watch helplessly as the bomb flies through the air, eradicating the remainder of his HP. Swearing, the other two let loose blasts from their weapons, only for both to be blocked by the Netplay.

HeelnaviA: 110 HP <Equip: Cannon>
HeelnaviB: EJO
HeelnaviC: 100 HP <Equip: Shotgun>

Tennisman: 120 HP
Netplay: 10 HP
The explosive impact of the energybomb made short work on the Heelnavi and weighed down on Tennisman's conscience. He always felt navi battles were such a waste of resources and would always consider the circumstances of what would create Heelnavis in the first place. A mere instance of malicious programming or perhaps desperate times could spawn another one. It led him to wonder if he had the capacity to become one.

"DUDE." Desmond snapped.

Tennisman raised his head to the sound of shots being reflected back from his net. It held strong but showed signs of damage. It wouldn't last another attack like that.

They want to delete me.

"Two Minibombs." Tennisman ordered.

The first bomb had already been served before the second materialized. Both flew over the net towards the same Heelnavi. Tennisman knew he had to act fast or risk not being able to finish this quickly.

I have to defend myself.

He secretly hoped they wouldn't hit but the part of him that served the bombs had aimed them as perfectly as he could.

They will delete others if I don't stop them

The final shred of hesitation ripped away at his last thought and he felt unburdened. This was a life or death battle and guilt wasn't a luxury he could afford right now. Perhaps when he was old and obsolete, he might look back and think of other ways but the battle was all that mattered now.

His racket glowed yellow from an unexpected Guard chip being slotted in.

"Yo, get ready," Desmond said, "Netplay's coming down."

Tennisman nodded and prepared himself to return his opponent's next attack. The colour of his racket wavered into a greenish hue as he focussed his mind.

Win.

1 - Minibomb HeelnaviB (60 dmg)
2 - Minibomb HeelnaviB (60 dmg)
3 - Guard1 (reflect 1 attack, max 60 dmg) + 10 damage untapped potential
(I'm terribly sorry, but I can't find it anywhere, and no one seems to know:
If Netplay's remaining HP is lower than the attack strength used against it, would it reflect the attack for full damage, or damage equal to the amount of HP remaining?)
((Netplay still blocks the attack but only reflects its remaining HP in damage.))
Er... WITH NOT MUCH TIME, THE AMAZING TENNISMAN MANAGES TO ERADICATE ONE ENEMY, WHILE THE OTHER NEARLY SUCCUMBS TO THE NETPLAY REFLECTION OF HIS OWN ATTACK!
Hoorah, it is a sure victory!

HeelnaviA: 40 HP <Equip: Cannon>
HeelnaviB: EJO
HeelnaviC: EJO

Tennisman: 120 HP
