Ghost's Town

Note: You need the RMXP RTP package to run any RMXP projects.

This project is under heavy development; I have virtually nothing to show.

If you'd like some insight into both my demented mind and the state of the RPG as of right now, please download the W.I.P. demo here.
*Yearns to help in any way possible*

Does it take sprites?
This is relevant to my interests. How much longer might this take, if ya don't mind me asking?

Lego...

That thing is sprite dependant.

Also I can give you a neat battle system layout if you don't mind making people slave for your sprites :3

I think I'm actually good with the front-view battle system for now, since it might allow for some interesting scenarios in the future. Thanks for the offer, though; I might need to ask you for coding help a great many times before the project is out, so it's good to know you'd be willing to give it.

However, Lego, sprite help would be greatly appreciated. Right now, I'm struggling to find sprites that aren't helm-and-armor dependent and rendered in an RTP style. I'm not exactly sure what RTP means, but I've taken it to encompass the sprites that come with the game and other sprites of that style.

Right now, I need

A more modern version of this shmuck. Armor replaced with a jacket or shirt or vest; you can design it any way you like, since I don't have anything in mind. Needs to be in .png form.
and

Three versions of this cat; a calico (you know, the black, white, orange and brown cats) one and a black one and a yellow one. If it's possible, the black one might have yellow eyes, but if it's not, don't sweat it. Again, it needs to be a .png.

You can finish these whenever, there's no real time constraint, 'specially since I won't get to see the Dell brick again until the weekend after next. Thanks for your help, dude! I can't really do anything but say nice things about in the credits, but I'll sure as hell do that! ( ^^)b

And Zero: I'm not really sure when it'll be done. I suspect it'll take longer than most RMXP projects purely because my access to the only brick with Windows is severely limited. Come Christmas break I expect I'll make progress in leaps and bounds, purely because I usually spend Christmas with my atheist-but-not-one-to-pass-up-an-excuse-to-give-gifts mother, who owns the Dell by proxy.

I'll get a demo out as soon as I can be sure the first bit is playable down to the end. The exact gameplay time I've got so far varies from person to person, but there's issues with the first boss. And trust me, you want to fight this guy. Sure, he's a recolor of stock enemies like everything else in the game, but he's d'awesome.
MASSIVE SUPER-UPDATE!

Ladies and girlymen, the demo for the title-pending Pandemonic is now avaliable! In adition, I've added three screenshots, taken with a camera unfortunately.

If you're gonna play the demo, I should tell you right now: It's really worth it to look around in this game. Check everything!
Muuuur.... Can't figure out how to run it.

WANT TO SEE IF YOU CAN RUN IT, RUN IT....
Oh, ehm... You may need a working copy of RMXP to run it. Have you followed these steps?

1. Run Pandemonic Demo.exe to decompress it all up in here. It should ask you for an extract folder to put the files.
2. Run Game.exe. It SHOULD work.
3. I have no idea. C should be like an A button, X should be like a B button and also bring up the menu.

I'll try to put out a revised version. But, is it working for anyone?
Eeeee heeee!

It would be a pleasure helping with the production of a functional game, although I haven't played it yet on account of the long download time i'm experiencing. All I require is credit and a cameo, if you would be so kind. (^.^ )b

And a simple sprite sheet edit? Why, that's my speciality. PNG FTW.

Hooooo! Partnership ahoy!
Cameo? Can do.

Anyway, I'm updating the demo. It should be up within five minutes. I've made a change to the boss music, and fixed some minor things I found lurking.

Alright, doods, it's up. Boogie down!
Aim, I've figured it out. You need the runtime package. It's totally free, though.

The link's on top of the page.
Review Taim!

It's an enjoyable piece. The battles are fun and the entire dungeon was doable, though it looked pretty grim near the end. Lots of humurous dialouge and examinations ("It's hard enough to make technology with medieval graphics."). As a gaming entrepreneur myself, the whole "look at everything 'cos everything is different" feature could be the major selling point.

Onoes! Bad things! Although I can't fault you much for your limited resources, I like to move my 2D characters in 8 directions. That's... more or less it.

Good effort, I have to say.

(^.^ ) bbb/bbbbb

3 thumbs up out of 5!

EDIT: "BRUSH YOUR TEEEEEEETH!"
"YOU HAVE NO TASTE!"
Yeah, I like this game.

...
Out of curiosity, what do we do once we've found the four hiding spots?
This is interests to my relevance.
Where can I obtain said software?
(I've screwed around with Multimedia Fusion 2, and I've made games somewhat like this, if to a lower standard, on it...)
There's a couple secrets near the end which could really help you out against the bawse, but I suppose I relied on them a little too much. I'll be sure to scale down the boss' difficulty a bit, then nerf the secrets a little so they don't make it a cakewalk, either.

Of course, assuming you're saying that the end's tough.

I won't be able to make any progress until weekend after next, but I'll keep any criticism you guys have in mind.

And, whee! Thanks, dudes! I feel giddy!
RPG Maker XP itself has to be purchased to be used. Sixty bucks.

That said, I could give you the program and the appropriate keygen if you want me to. The keygen's tricky, but more or less intuitive once you know what's going on. Once you plug in the number the keygen gives you, it should just thank you for your purchase and never bother you for cash again.

Interested?
I'll PM you.
....
Maybe some Zenny?
XD

NO, NO ARSHES

Arshes sucks. If anything make him appear as a random lulz enemy or something. Originality! You can get sprites from this site http://charas-project.net/

Don't use the generator though, it is for older RPG makers.

and dont forget im handy for finding scripts.

EDIT: also I want your keygen gearpunk. People stopped making scripts for the postality knights version.
;>>
Originality is what I'm working on. That's why I'm getting character edits and such.

Keep a open mind; this is an incredibly early demo. Some projects take up to four years for people with constant access to a working version of RMXP.

What up, yo

Also, I advise you all get the new demo version, if only for the sake of cool new music. :'D
