Shakedown One

((Jack-In from Netopia: Carol Bowgren's House))

A beam of light flashes onto the ground of Netopia Net, water splashing up from the ground beneath to give form to Seafoam, who wastes no time in taking off to explore.
((Searching for Battle 1))
Eager to explore a new setting Seafoam began a somewhat pleasant trek through the local Netopian net; it was a nice day for it – a light breeze, moderate cloud cover, an idyllic public park full of metools over there.... Wait. Was that normal?

The area was a large, broad section of open space, with a couple of benches at the edges to give the impression of a closed area for picnics and play, though right now it was deserted of other navigators. Instead, Seafoam could see a trio of metools occupying the space. On of them was standing at the base of what looked like some kind of art sculpture... maybe... the virus was peering at it and tilting its head back and forth, before swinging its pick to add grooves or subtract pieces of stone. It seemed to be considering each stroke carefully, though, rather than wantonly breaking it. Still, it probably wasn't meant to be doing that.

Not too far away, resting on a small section of glowing white panels, a second metool had a large fold-out map spread out in front of it, and was peering at it with a look of concentration and confusion, in between glancing around at the group's surroundings. It probably didn't help that the map was the wrong way up.

The third met in the area seemed like it had been napping up until now, but roused itself as Seafoam drew close and seemed to hurriedly blink off sleep and shake itself out.

“Meep!” Its call mostly seem to go unheeded by the other two, and it glanced hurriedly between them and Seafoam. After another moment of uncertainty, it hurriedly seemed to first wave a greeting towards her with its pickaxe, then slam the weapon down to send a shockwave in her vague direction, though it was a long way off course. It waved again, its helmet tilting in a vaguely apologetic shrug, then turned and darted a few steps closer to the other two, calling out in a series of increasingly agitated 'meeps' at its friends. It seemed to be having a hard time getting their attention.

Seafoam didn't seem terribly inclined to engage the viruses, at least for the moment. The shockwave was far to off course to have been an actual attempt at engagement, and well...quite frankly, it didn't look like the viruses were causing any problem right now. So for the moment, the navi was more interested in the map and the sculpture. Her netop, having recently returned from work, wasn't inclined to remind Seafoam that they were here to delete viruses (and to be honest, was at least a little curious about the map herself).

Seafoam decided to check out the map for now, approaching until she could stand next to it and examine it closely.

With a more curious approach than some navis might have taken, Sefoam approached the group. As she drew nearer, the urgent and frustrated 'meeps' of the met that had noticed her increased. It ran back and forth between its two colleagues, complaining and frequently gesturing in Seafoam's direction with its pickaxed. Every so often it glanced back towards her as well, though it didn't make eye contact for long.

The metool by the sculpture only spared its friend a cursory look before trying to wave it off. It contemplated the art pieces, then swiped its pick again, slicing off another small chunk. Whatever it had originally looked like, it now seemed to be taking on a rounder, shorter shape... something of a rough dome on top, maybe a round body, some kind of possibly pickaxe-like extension on one side and... a cape, perhaps? The data crystal had been allowed to retain pride of place, in the middle of the sculpture's 'helmet', a green glowing diamond in the place where the cross would be on a normal met's helm.

The urgent metool gave up and dashed back to the one with the map, calling out repeatedly, and almost jumping up and down in its antsy desperation, but the one poring over the unfolded document only glanced at it before returning to its consternation.

The plaintive 'meeps' continue to grow more hurried until Seafoam arrived at the other side of the spread out map, and was able to look down at it. Across from her, the metool attempting to read it glanced up when her shadow fell over it. The mettool lifted its pickaxe and waved briefly, then looked back down at the map. Beside it, the other metool trailed off into defeated silence, and for a virus without shoulders, they certainly seemed to slump. It turned to wander a few paces away, dragging its pickaxe behind it, before plopping down, mostly turned away from Seafoam and the map-met... it seemed pretty dejected for some reason.

The map itself, which Seafoam could now see more clearly, was a fold out location connectivity map – somewhat like a real-world road map – for the ACDC network, and it was upside-down. The metool attempting to read it continued to look between the map and their surroundings but, understandably now, was not making any headway. It might possibly occur to either Coral or Seafoam, that while metools were a common virus that proliferated across much of the net, Netopia was, in fact, one of the places where they did not occur naturally... these guys were a long way from home.

...Not only was the map upside-down, but the title said that it was for a completely different network. "ACDC...I hate to break it to you, but that map isn't going to help you here." Having established that the map wasn't of the local network, the navi turned to examine the statue now taking form. The gem embedded in it was very shiny...and having not encountered mystery data before, Seafoam decided that it looked better as part of the statue. The fact that at least one part of the group was clearly thoroughly lost suggested to her that perhaps the third mets reaction hadn't been to a threat, but a potential guide...and Seafoam had actually been looking over net maps in anticipation of actually visiting. "Do you guys need directions back to ACDC?" the Navi asked.

As she examined the map with the lost metool, and posed her question, the met across from her look at the map again, then back up to Seafoam. It looked at the map one more time, then turned about to look around the park again, then finally turned back to look at her once more.

“meep...” without any obvious language, the met's tone certainly sounded sheepish. It nodded slowly, then folded up the map and slung it over its shoulder, in place of where its pickaxe would go. How it did this without hands, or shoulders, was anyone's guess, but the effect was clear enough. “Meep!” It turned to call to the others, then started to chatter in a much more unintelligible viral language of some sort. The sculptor met paused to look back, then nodded in response. It sized up the statue, then with one swift sweep of its tool seemed to slice its work off near the base. A wireframe of static glitching seemed to run through the sculpture, before the main body of it shrunk down rapidly to become a small statuette which the sculptor carried back with it to stand alongside the map-wielding one. The statuette looked much more cleanly like a proud metool now, cape flaring behind it and pickaxe held aloft. Behind it, the remains of the art installation's plinth continued to glitch and spark, damaged beyond repair at this point... passive viruses or not, it seemed they were still incidentally causing destruction where they went.

The upset metool looked up at the other two and sniffed, then let out a small sigh and climbed back to its feet, dragging its pickaxe behind it as it joined its companions and looked up at Seafoam. It only met her gaze briefly before casting its eyes down again. It shuffled for a moment or two, then produced a small sign which it held up towards her as an offering. The sign contained a small cartoonish picture of a group of mets attacking and sending out shockwaves, opposite a generic looking navi firing buster shots back at them. Above the drawing, in childish letters, 'welcome to netbattling' was drawn in a small arch, with little streamers on either side. This little guy seemed to have been pretty excited for its – and Seafoam's – first battle, but now things hadn't really gone the way they were 'meant' to. It tried to give her the sign to keep, and let out another dejected little sigh, but then looked across to its comrades, who seemed happy, and back up towards Seafoam herself. Its helmet tilted to the side, considering. Maybe this was okay too?

Along with the sign, Coral would notice a brief influx of zenny to her PET. It seemed as though the trio had agreed amongst themselves to accept the navi's assistance, if she still wanted to give it. The question now, perhaps, was what did she intend to do?

((Sorry about the delay – like I mentioned, I don't work on weekends, and there are very few other mods.))
"Oh..." Seafoam said, taking the sign from the dejected met, "I'm sorry...I didn't realize that you were looking forward to a battle." Though, admittedly, it probably would have been unfair to start fighting with two of the three mets distracted. In any case...if the netnavi remembered correctly, the fastest route back to electopian servers - wouldn't work, since it ran through the netsquare. Thankfully, she did know a route that should work...albeit going further through Netopian networks.

Well, time to see how far the group could make it. "Okay, I know a route that should work. Follow me!" The navi waited a moment to make sure that the mets were following, before heading towards the connection.

((Not searching for Battle 2, but probably gonna find it anyways.))
It was a peculiar procession, and not one often seen on the netopian networks. Seafoam led her small troupe of following metools across the network towards what she believed would be a connection that could take the lost mets back to their home network. For their part, her new friends seemed to be much more content following someone who seemed to know where she was going, and they chattered to each other with small 'meeps' interspersed with unintelligible viral language, looking about at the sights, for all the world like happy tourists. Even the more nervous and stressed metool seemed to have brightened up considerably once they got underway.

Unfortunately, the sunny excursion wouldn't remain peaceful forever, and it was a handful of minutes into the trek that other, more hostile sounds started to reach seafoam's ears. They first came from ahead of her, but after only a moment or two other sounds began to catch her attention from other sides as well.

The first creature to begin rushing towards Seafoam came at her from around a blind corner, up ahead. At first, it seemed to be an ordinary Prog, but a second glance was enough to tell her that something was desperately wrong with it. One arm was missing, sparking madly at the stump, and one of its eyes had stopped working too. Other signs of damage and corruption covered its body as it drifted rapidly closer. The damaged prog lifted its good arm up and called out.

“FOREIGN DATA DETECTED! ALL FOREIGN DATA MUST—” its exuberant voice broke into a crack of static before returning at a different cadence. “—BEWARE OF DANGEROUS—” Another break of static before it continued again, skipping tracks a second time. “—WELCOMMING HUGS!!” Electricity crackled up its body as it rushed forward, its one good hugging arm threatening. It took a moment to realise, but the prog actually seemed to be rushing not towards Seafoam herself, but towards one of her followers – the sculptor carrying its little statuette.

Off to the left, a virus dropped in from a glitching portal – it looked a bit like a small silk puppet on strings, with a broad conical hat, but it, too turned to focus on the group of metools, rather than their guiding navigator.

As if that weren't enough, an eager bleating sound from the opposite direction heralded a very round, fluffy-looking virus that had started to charge towards the group with just as much enthusiasm as the prog.

Behind her, the trio of metools looked about in a sudden panic. Two of them began to dash in a small circle, looking for a way out, then crashed into one another and hunkered down under their helmets, hiding. The sculptor hopped form foot to foot, turning left and right as it held its statuette, looking between Seafoam and the encroaching viruses.

DarkProgs are Mr. Progs cruelly corrupted and warped to become expendable soldiers. They appear mostly as normal Mr. Progs, but their face is much more darkly colored, and have glowing white eyes, as well as missing their left arm. They attack by emitting static around themselves. While they are fairly strong attackers, especially in groups, they have poor endurance, which is only exacerbated by the fact their attacks harm themselves. "H-" Seafoam didn't need a second glance to see that the Prog that came around the corner was severely damaged, or to realize that the 'hugs' it spoke of were probably not friendly. Finding her voice again, the navi addressed her netop, "Coral, I need ch-" only to be interrupted by...bleats?

Turning, the navi saw that the group had been flanked by two additional viruses. One of which was charging in from the opposite direction. Thankfully, at that moment Coral chose to respond, "Cannon slot in, RageClaw slot in!"

Seafoam doesn't waste a moment, turning back to the Prog even as a muzzle-loading cannon drops into her arms. "Thank you!" The navi aims the weapon at the mutilated program, before pressing a match into the touchhole of the weapon. The recoil shoves her back, but she tosses the spent weapon aside and leaps dashes past the mets in an attempt to intercept the charging sheep.

Activating the second chip, her left hand morphed, enlarging and growing wicked claws. Bringing the changed appendage around, Seafoam slashed out at the aggressive virus, then turned her claws to catch her target in a second slash as she brought her arm back.

As she finished her second strike, the navi paused to take stock of the situation. If all went well, two of her targets should be down, but more than likely she would have to adjust her tactics to account for at least one target surviving her assault.

Surrounded but not daunted, Seafoam reacted as quickly as she could to the rapid press of viral threats. The damaged prog was the closest, moving towards the group with its arm upraised; as it drew closer, sparks travelled up and down its body, almost as though it were charging up, but a moment later the cannon shot from Seafoam thudded into its chest and shoved it back wards. The corrupted program fell back and crashed to the ground with a last, drawn out, distorted “HUUUUUGGGGSSSS”, before shutting down for good.

There was no time to celebrate quick victories, however; the sheep virus was charging swiftly at the trio of Mets and it was all Seafoam could do to intercept its assault. The good news, was that she did manage to intercede between the virus and its target, protecting both the statue, and the met holding it. The less good news was that the action didn't leave her enough time to successfully evade harm, or bring her freshly realised claws to bear on her foe. The sheep crashed into Seafoam with an angry bleat, trying to push past her with ram-headed stubbornness, but the navi wasn't about to let the uncomfortable gut-punch stop her from retaliating. The first swipe of her claws sheared the sheep soundly, depriving it of its woolly fleece and cutting into the virus besides, while a second stroke was enough to put the hostile creature down properly.

While she dealt with these threats, it seemed as though the remaining virus had paused to look at the scene, then, seeming to determine something about its current position, withdrew back into its glitchy portal. A hint of static overhead showed Seafoam that it was repositioning itself, looking as though it meant to drop down again much closer, not only to the navi herself, but the whole group of her companions too. In the distance, there were the indistinct sounds of other entities approaching, but none of them had reached the group yet; she still had time to deal with this last threat before any more showed up. Beside her, the sculptor metool hopped from foot to foot holding the statue out on front of itself – it seemed like it wanted to hide, like its fiends were doing, but also didn't want to leave the little statue unguarded.

5. RageClaw1Damage: 40 + Slashing (Attack) OR 20 + Impacting (Throw)
Accuracy: B / B then B
Description: Creates an impressive bear claw. Can be used to slash or throw enemies or objects.
Duration: Until Overridden/Broken. Breaks automatically after 6 uses.
Element: Null
Special: Throw: The wielder must first grab the target to be thrown, then the target is thrown in the direction/area indicated. A second check is made if against another object/enemy. Throw deals damage to both thrown object/enemy and the second object/enemy. Damage occurs at point of collision with the ground/wall/ceiling/etc. or an object/enemy, not during initial grab attempt. Objects deal their max HP in damage (instead of the chip's damage) if they hit an object/enemy, then break. If they miss, the object just takes the chip's damage. This chip has a variety of uses.

Tracking the shadow of the puppet virus' portal, Seafoam was ready for it when it attempted to drop down in front of the three metools and their data statue. He first strike was enough to spin it around, not a moment too soon; the virus exhaled a broad spray of electrical energy that spread into a cone of crackling sparks, converting the panels beneath it to glowing solar lights... but thankfully off target of both Seafoam herself, and her metool friends. Close one. Her second claw swipe was enough to finish the virus off and and its immediate threat, but she was barely given a moment to breath.

The sound of a vaguely electronic, vaguely crystalline tone harmonised with a second voice of similar timbre. It came from behind the group as a pair of nearly identical-looking viruses came into view. They were small, star-like viruses with round bodies and a single large eye each in the centre, and they continued to chime and hum melodiously as they drifted closer, circling one another as they came on. The pair might have almost seemed peaceful and gentle, until, as one of their chiming tones reached a peak, its eye widened and a blistering laser beam of energy shot out towards the trio of mets. The sculptor's courage failed at last and it dropped the statuette, ducking under its helmet just in time – the laser struck the dome and glanced off, but the viruses didn't seem put off as the focused in on the glowing statue behind the hiding met.

"Okay, things are looking a bit hairy," Seafoam spoke out, turning towards the new arrivals, "...I don't think that we have enough chips."

"Perhaps we should...consider withdrawing?" Coral's proposed course of action was the most logical one for a lone navi, but the problem was that Seafoam WASN'T alone.

Pressed for time, the netnavi charged the new combatants, throwing out a wave as she did so. Reaching her target a moment after the elemental attack didn't, Seafoam struck out twice more with her clawed hand, claws attempting to rend the enemy right up until they snapped off, shattering into so many shards of...what WERE claws made from anyways?

Seeing that Seafoam had no interest in retreat, Coral inserted another two battlechips into her PET to support the assault. "Shotgun in, Shockwave in!" It would leave them with only a single chip remaining, but better that than let themselves be battered by surviving viruses. Perhaps they shouldn't have decided to lead these mets back to their home, or they would be able to retreat without worrying about them.

Seafoam leapt to the side, pulling out a shotgun as she did so and firing at the other virus upon landing. Dropping to one knee, the netnavi released the shockwave battlechip by slamming her open hand into the ground.

As the navi lashed out at the new combatants almost immediately as they appeared, smashing her wave against the Twin (40) and quickly getting locked onto as the other began to swing around her target, as the trio of mets would look up from under their helms, peaking out as the Twin would manage to lock onto Seafoam and blast her with energy, leaving a nasty mark on her chest where the attack hit (20). But that would not deter her attack, not even remotely close, as she swung her gauntlet wildly in retaliation...missing once with it and the other managing to hit thankfully, leaving the Twin on death's door (40).

She lept away towards the side and managed to get a little distance between her and the viruses, but as the one she had attacked swung around in turn, the other would take aim and fire another blast off at Seafoam, just _barely_ grazing her hair mid-flip, but otherwise would miss enough to not count as a hit. The Mets watching this, would begin chipping in with their own attacks, if nothing else, to help whittle the viruses down, likely having heard Coral. The mets would begin to slam their Mattocks onto the ground in near unison as the viruses stopped their movement and, thankfully, clipped the full health one at the very least, leading to a little chip damage but otherwise missed with their attacks (10). But Seafoam would make damn sure to get her shotgun and shockwave off, the shotgun hit the intended target, but, would go just wide to miss the second Team virus...but, with enough luck, the shockwave JUST managed to clip both viruses, killing them at the same time and preventing their return (50, 40, 40) thanks to the chipped in help of the mets she was helping.

But as soon as they were dead, the mets would quickly hide under their helms again, leading into the last two viruses popping in as soon as humanly possible, a purple ghost-virus with a skull-mask on it's face known as the Spooky virus, a defensive, supportive, virus with a low health pool. And the BigHat virus, a little suit wearing creature with a massive hat and glasses on it's head, looking at the viruses and Seafoam with _MALICIOUS_ intent. The BigHat would certainly need more effort to take down, but, the Spooky was certainly not to be ignored with Seafoam's lower health pool.

BigHats only attack a max of once per turn. The rest of their remaining actions are spent moving or dodging, a skill in which they are only average at best. BigHats only attack a second time if the FlashBomb they threw on that turn is somehow destroyed before the end of the turn, and they have an action remaining for the turn. FlashBombs thrown by BigHats do not harm viruses at all when they explode. The effect of FlashBomb cannot be dodged, but it can be blocked by defenses you can take cover behind, such as objects and Guards. Chip generated barriers and auras also prevent the effect, but signature generated defenses of these types will not. As FlashBomb is a light based attack, it has slashing to pierce Shadow, and Seeking to pierce Invis (note that dodging alone does nothing, so Invis will not help here anyway).

Seafoam didn't hesitate, feeling the weight of a harpoon drop into her hand as she sized up the distance between her and the ghost. Out of the two viruses, the spirit was something that she could easily take down, even without battlechips. The navi shifter her grip, drew her arm back...and HURLED the harpoon, sending the weapon towards its target as directly as she could manage. Bouncing on the balls of her feat, Seafoam shifted her position just enough to hopefully dodge an attack.

Not that she was done attacking herself. A second harpoon, this once sent flying downrange at the same target with even less hesitation than the first. Again, Seafoam launched herself sideways, trying to stay a moving target for the suit and ghost. "What do you know? It's a pair of spooks."

Coral had to blink at that observation, but decided not to question her navi's observation. If only because she was trying to figure out if Seafoam running for it would be at all likely to draw the attacking viruses after her, or if they were just taking shots at the most obviously dangerous of the combatants.

While Coral was considering all of this, Seafoam repeated herself a final time, throwing a harpoon at the Spooky before dancing to one side, in a third evasive maneuver.

Running low on options and ammunition, Seafoam found herself falling back on her own power as a navi, with no more augmenting chip data incoming for now. The big-hatted virus approached slowly, shuffling in its coat for something, while Seafoam focused on eliminating the smaller of the two threats. Her first harpoon struck the ghost cleanly, and set it reeling backwards, before it righted itself and warped with sudden speed right up close. With a manic grin and a ghastly giggle, it attempted to slap Seafoam with its slobbery tongue, but the navi wasn't licked yet; she dodged it and hammered in a second harpoon before the virus warped back to where it started, hurting.

The other virus finished rummaging and produced a small spherical explosive, tossing it into the middle of the field with an unhurried nonchalance. It rolled to a stop and stayed where it was, though a low whine began to build towards a peak, coming from the device.

Across the way, the Spooky grabbed its elongated tongue in its hands and looked as though it was about to scrub its own face with it, perhaps trying to freshen up before continuing, but Seafoam's third speak managed to strike true before it could do, eliminating the virus before it could heal itself.

That seemed to be the end of the good news, though; from the same direction that the other viruses had emerged from, more movement continued and it seemed as though whatever was drawing them to this place wasn't letting up. On on side of the BigHat, an electric crackle heralded the emergence of a Billy virus with a mean expression and sharp prongs crackling with electricity. On the other side, the bulky, imposing shape of a Quaker virus, heavyset and solid made the ground tremble as it landed just behind. The BigHat seemed to chuckle, and nodded its hat in the direction of Seafoam and her companions. The trio, stirred by the navi's own determination to fight, seemed to have found some courage briefly, but it was clear that they were all intimidated by the hostile viruses, and their pixckaxes wavered a little even as they brandished them.

The flashbang in the middle of the space between them began to flash as its whine reached an ear-splitting pitch, but a blur of motion shot in suddenly from the edge of Seafoam's view, and the sound of ripping metal cut the shriek off at the last moment. It was the figure of another metool... or at least it looked like one. This one was a little smaller than the other mets following Seafoam, but it wore a ragged-edged blue cape about its shoulders and moved with a speed an surety very unlike other metools. As its first strike destroyed the BigHat's flashbomb, it spiralled in place, swinging its weapon twice more and unleashing a pair of extra shockwaves that struck the the BigHat and knocked it onto its back for a moment. The other two arrivals looked down at their boss while it made indignant, irate sounds.

The caped metool glanced back towards Seafoam and her companions.
“Meep?” The tone was firm and serious, but contra to this, the trio of metools with Seafoam began to chatter and meep amongst themselves with sudden glee and excitement. The map metool was even jumping up and down, unable to contain itself. They were quieted suddenly as the caped one spoke again, this time with a former leading 'meep', followed by a brief garble of unintelligible viral cahtter. The trio responded, tumbling over each other to answer, before the caped one nodded and looked to seafoam. It appraised her, then seemed to focus, as though it was concentrating. A small text bubble appeared beside it, filled briefly with viral symbols, then resolved into legible language.
“Met Friend?” As it asked, the BigHat struggled to its feet, helped up by the Billy, who glared at the group as it did. The caped metool looked towards them again, then back to Seafoam and her followers.
“Meep! Meep!” No time for language, it waved its pickaxe towards a side alley that led on much in the same direction that she had been leading her troupe before, before turning back to the trio of viruses and readying its pickaxe again. She had a way out, it seemed, and the chance to get her charges to safety without being followed, if she wanted to take it. The trio of other mets seemed torn between being excited to see this other figure, and doing what he said, which apparently involved leaving. They looked up to Seafoam to follow her lead.

WingerWinger (Winger)

Winger viruses drop down from way up high, execute a breath attack, and rise back up. Dropping and attacking is an action, while moving back upward is a second action. They may also adjust where on the battlefield they drop next while in High Altitude as a free action. These are the only actions this virus family performs.

Area: Netopia, NAXA

HP: 80
Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Elec + Small Solar Terrain Change + Cone Attack
Attack Accuracy: C
Attack Description: Uses a plasma breath weapon to give the enemy and the ground an unhealthy glow.

Special: Has High Altitude every other action. This virus cannot attack while in High Altitude, but may adjust its positioning as a free action.

MolokoMoloko (Moloko)

Moloko are simple... They charge at the enemy, and don't bother dodging the attacks of their target. Moloko are protected by a fleece that is essentially a regenerating defence. They avoid broken, missing, and liquid terrain types, but otherwise charge their enemies with supreme confidence in their invincibility.

Area: Netopia

Attack Accuracy: C
Attack Description: Charges at Enemy. 'Nuff said.
Element: None
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): MokoRush1, Zenny

BigHatBigHat (BigHat)

Area: Kotobuki Town, Netopia, NetVegas

Attack Description: Throws bomb that explodes in one turn in a flash.

Special: If underground or in a building, it can break through ceilings or cause a rock-fall.

Special: Chain 3: This attack, upon striking a target, may change directions towards a new target. This may be done up to 3 times in one attack.
: 80Hp [Normal] (Beside and behind the BigHat's left)
BillyBilly (Billy)

"Thank you!" Seafoam shouted as she dashed to the alleyway entrance, examining the escape route for any obstruction. If the alleyway proved clear, the netnavi would then proceed to wait for the mets following her to arrive at the alley entrance, before proceeding at a pace that they would be able to follow more easily.

((Escaping!))
In the midst of the dangerous situation, Seafoam took the opportunity afforded her and decided to put the safety of her charges first, quickly shepherding the trio out and away from the conflict while the mysterious caped met bought them time. With the sounds of combat fading behind them, she managed to bring the following line of metools safely away from danger and into a quieter section of the network at last.

Still following, the trio behind her hadn't stopped their excited chattering, and it almost seemed like there might be some sort of vague hero-worship going on amongst them. Once there was room to stop and catch their collective breaths, however, the sculptor metool approached Seafoam directly, and looked up her with a small 'Meep!' to get her attention.

It appeared that this one had scooped up the little statuette again as they had fled and it now held it up to Seafoam herself seemingly like some sort of offering or thanks. The statue itself, it was clear now, bore a resemblance to the figure they'd briefly met – with its flowing cape and pickaxe raised high. The gem crystal in the centre of the sculpture's helmet glinted and glowed, and up close to it now, if she examined it, Seafoam would be able work out that it was a repository for data of some kind, though exactly what was in it would be impossible to tell unless she accessed it.

DarkProgDarkProg (DarkProg)

DarkProgs are Mr. Progs cruelly corrupted and warped to become expendable soldiers. They appear mostly as normal Mr. Progs, but their face is much more darkly colored, and have glowing white eyes, as well as missing their left arm. They attack by emitting static around themselves. While they are fairly strong attackers, especially in groups, they have poor endurance, which is only exacerbated by the fact their attacks harm themselves. They very rarely dodge, but will often try to move close to the enemy before attacking.

Area: SciLab, Netopia, NAXA

HP: 60
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Elec + Nova 2
Primary Attack Accuracy: C
Primary Attack Description: Emits some of its life energy as a static field.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: Damage x 2, Self-Sacrifice x 2
Secondary Attack Accuracy: S
Secondary Attack Description: Charges up energy within itself. On its next turn, all of this virus's attacks deal +100% Source Damage, and deal twice as much damage to itself. This effect does not stack with itself.
Element: Elec
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): RingZap1 (Rare), Zenny

Open GMD?
"Oh! Thank you!" Seafoam happily accepted the gift, examining the sculpture to admire it. While she recognized the gem embedded in the statue as a mystery data, the navi wasn't confident that opening it wouldn't destroy the art piece.

((ITEM GET: GMD Met Hero Sculpture))

Looking around now that the group was out of immediate danger, Seafoam brushed herself off...only for the action to displace a significant amount of Zenny, over two dozen BugFrags, and a battlechip. "...what."

Coral, at least, had some idea of what was going on. "I think that some of the data from deleted viruses must've stuck to you in that fight. Not a bad haul."

Seafoam didn't let her surprise stop her from collecting the rewards, before looking around to get her bearings.

It didn't take long for the navi to figure out which way the group should go next, "Okay...this way!" she exclaimed, making sure to stay at a pace that the mets could keep up with as she started moving again.
