Mission: Lethal Blizzard Chase!

"We can't restore the shields at this time! The enemy's attacks are in the way!"

Bard and Captain began to open fire at the tanks, clearing them out much quicker than they would've expected. However, they couldn't defeat them before they were able to penetrate the last line of the Tarasque's defense and began inflicting real damage onto the transport.

Soon after Garou loaded the 2nd shell into the Catapult, the snipers were on the move again, more than determined to shoot down the turrets this time. "Fire!" All shot at the same time, easily piercing through the frontal shield and headed towards the cannons. Bard was able to boost the Tarasque's speed in the last second, veering the projectile's path into something else. The sniper shots didn't destroy any of the turrets, but it managed to damage the other weaponry!

"PLUNGE!"

Before anyone realized, another harpoon was fired towards one of the Hovercrafts, but the commander already foresaw this type of attack and made sure none of the snipers would be wounded. "Foolish move, Police!" The commando altered his right arm into a red curved blade and pointed it directly at the Tarasque without a single sign of fear at its monstrosity. "CHARGE!"

Bard checked all the systems of the machine as it took some more hits. She breathed a sigh of relief as the cannons and turrets both survived the attacks from the snipers. The moment was short live as her eyes noticed the casting and shields down on the transport. Heading back over to the weapons on the right side showed her panic as the commanders began to charge the transport.

"We cannot let them reach us!" Leo shouted at Bard over private chat. "This is basic tactics 101. Disable the crew of the transport and the transport is also useless. This thing is no good without us, and if those commanders get to us, we will not be fairing well. Piloting is enough for us to balance right now, we can't afford fighting at the same time."

Bard wasted no time. By grabbing the controls for the turrets she slowed her momentum and quickly started to take aim at the red commander on her side. The snipers would probably disable a large section of the weapons after their next round of shooting. This is knew. Taking the controls up, she quickly locked onto the charging commander.

"Bard take a deep breath and aim this, you are too anxious." Leo instructed. Bard took a deep breath and squeezed the trigger for the first time during the exhale. She kept the turret a step ahead of the commander to help improve her chances of making contact with some of the bullets. She moved the turret another few steps ahead again and repeated the process. After exhaling she checked the ammo left in the turret. "Once more shot." Pulling the trigger for the final time on this turret she took a slight step back to get more of the various displays in her vision. "What should I do now?"

Leo had to think for a second. She could either move the transport again to attempt to save some of the weapons, or fire another shot at the incoming commander to insure his deletion. Both they needed the most. Saving themselves takes priority over saving the weapons. Having some weapons is better than none. "Finish the commander."

Bard looked to her allies. She locked eyes with the other and said, we need to drop the commanders now. I am going to finish this one off, try to hit the other with the large cannon shot. As Bard turned back to the controls she though, We are going to have to bust with this guy again sometime. This isn't a very good test run for our science friend. She grabbed the cannon controls and locked onto the commander once more. He must not be able to board the transport. That would spell utter end for this mission. She took careful aim, and fired the powerful weapon once more.

"Take them out, eh?" Wolfman answered. "It'll be my pleasure. I'm getting rather tired of these moronic Mafia meatheads."

"So tired that he's alliterating," Victor mused. "Though I can't blame him. The persistence of our pursuers, while a commendable trait, is fast becoming an annoyance. Perhaps we should unleash the main cannon once more?"

"Perhaps," the Navi answered with a wolfish grin.

Wolfman's fingers clattered across the keyboard in front of him, moving the distortion catapult into position for firing on the far off hovercraft. The Scorpion Sting moved in response to his key inputs and the console in front of him showed a view of the hovercraft. Wolfman took hold of a small knob located near the console and moved it to the left, controlling a targeting reticule onscreen until it was centered on the hovercraft. A few more button presses had the catapult locked onto the hovercraft and the targeting computer ready to deal with the fine adjustments.

"Alright, this should do it," Wolfman muttered as he pressed the button to fire the catapult.

The Tarasque vibrated as an explosion roared to signify the launch of the main cannon. Wolfman watched the view screen, waiting to see the hovercraft evaporate into a pile of slag.

Summary:
1. Take Aim
2. More Aim
3. Fire Distortion Catapult: "Scorpion Sting" [500 Damage / Blast3 / Break / Impact / 5TCD] at HovercraftA
As Bard open fired with the turret, she failed to realize that the Hovercraft was still too far to get a solid hit and already wasted a single clip. But now that it was closer as the anchor was reeled in, her ammo had some effect now. Few shots grazed the commando when it was climbing up to the Tarasque, but Bard couldn't use the turret to its full use when few of the snipers began to destroy few of the turrets on her side!

Before Bard realized, the Commando appeared behind the navi via teleportation and raised its bloody sword up into the sky. "DIE, PEST!" As the blade was soaring straight down on Bard's head, something appeared on the last second and took the blow instead of the navi! "Pest?!....PEST?!" It was Captain, who had the sword embedded on his right arm to guard Bard, and immediately followed by swing a left hook right up against the commando's chin.

Garou prepared and fired the scorpion sting once more at the distant enemy, but the commando already braced himself for the inevitable attack. As the blood-colored explosion swallowed everything within its blast, the lone navi barely survived the attack and immediately began to patch his own wounds. "..." After a few second of rest, the commando disappeared from where he stood and appeared on one of Tarasque's side. It made its way on the board, right next to WolfMan with a sword already equipped on his arm!

As Bard watched the shots miss the commander on his way to the machine, she cursed silently under her breath. She kept her eye on him, until he disappeared, causing her to check and double check the displays before her. "Where did he go?" She questioned without hearing the commander reappear. She wasn't aware of his presence until he shouted out to her, causing her to jump up from the chair and take a slight step backwards from the attacker. Her eyes narrowed at his insult, and she was quick to notice the captain assisting her in battle. Just as she began reaching for her trusty piccolo from within her winter jacket, the other commander appeared in the control room attacking her new ally!

"Now we have something amusing on our hands," Leo said quickly grabbing for the chips near to him. He Grabbed for the sword and rageclaw chips first. They would be most useful in the close quarter fighting that was about to ensue. He slotted in the sword chip for bard to use, and kept the rageclaw in reserve just in case. Being able to throw the commander around a bit would be useful, but Bard isn't exactly the best close combat fighter. Maybe this Sp could help her out there. Leo thought.

Bard felt the presence of the chip in her data, after she had already brought her piccolo to her lips and begun playing the 8th note dodge spell. She would need all the motions and movement she could get in her. Her fingers danced over the piccolo, and her breath filled the instrument as she felt the reserve spell ready to use. She then met eyes with the commander as she summoned the guitar she commonly used to her side. Tightly gripping the neck of the instrument turned her knuckles white as she played as fast as she could to get the second spell off before close combat attacking. She moved her fingers around the strings, making long notes that seemed to make the guitar talk to the enemy. As this happened the strings peeled themselves from the body and began to whip and slither like a snake. They grew spikes from their sides, looking like barbed wire as they dashed towards the very close commander to try and hold him in place, in the center of the command room, a perfect place to be held still and deleted.

Bard began to process the data of the sword as she put the guitar away, and kicked it off to the side. She pulled her piccolo back from her large winter coat and gripped in her hands as though it were a sword. The data flowed through Bard and down towards her hands as the piccolo began to extend into a weapon. The blade was metallic and it was the same texture as the piccolo. It was impossible to see where the piccolo ended and where the blade began. Bard griped this in her hands and took a foward step towards the commander. She hoped her was grounded at this point, wanting to finish him off and delete him. She preformed a powerful downwards slash on the enemy.

As the weight of the blade swung down towards her feet, Bard carried through with the force of the swing and pivoted on her leading left foot. She pulled her hands back to her hip and waited until the commander was in view again. Once the red color of his sash reached the eyes of Bard, she thrust the sword forwards, attempting to skewer the enemy.

Summary
1) 8th Note dodge Process Attack (Dodge + Dodge)
2) Musical Bindings (Hold + 30 Damage)
3) Sword to CommanderB, the same one I was shooting (80)
4) Sword thrust to CommanderB (80)
Wolfman twisted in his chair as the first of the commandos materialized within the bridge of the Tarasque. The Navi's bestial nose had caught a whiff of an unfamiliar scent and had glanced back just as the commando appeared. Wolfman watched in horror as though caught in slow motion as the commando's sword chopped down toward Bard's unprotected back. He struggle to shout a warning, but it was all happening too fast. Suddenly, the Captain was there, right arm flung out to block the descending blade with exposed flesh. The Captain delivered a devastating left hook, catching the commando on the chin and sending him stumbling backward.

With Bard safe for the moment, Wolfman glanced back at the wreckage of the hovercraft displayed on the screen in front of him. He caught sight of the second commando, still alive and well, just before the Navi vanished. Wolfman raised his foot just as the second commando appeared within the control room, blade equipped and ready to remove Wolfman's head from his neck. Wolfman kicked against the console in front of him, sending himself tumbling out of his chair to somersault across the floor. He rolled back to his feet, golden eyes flashing as he locked gazes with the Mafia commando.

"Looks like you have a fight on your hands," Victor mused as he slotted in a battlechip.

Data flooded into Wolfman's systems and traveled down the length of his right arm. Wispy lines of shadow rose from his arm, bathing it in darkness. The shadows spread out from his fingertips, lengthening his fingers before ending in black claws. Long strands of shadow hung around Wolfman's forearm, resembling the fur of a wild beast. The Navi snarled, the sound betraying his human form, before he charged.

Wolfman slashed at the commando with his clawed hand, attempting to lock the Mafia Navi's sword arm in his grasp. The RageClaw battlechip granted him bone crushing strength and he intended to use it to prevent the commando from striking him down. Wolfman pivoted, hoping to hurl the commando across the room to crash into the metal wall.

"I'm loading the DashAttack," Victor said.

Wolfman didn't bother to respond. The battlechip data was surging through him and he lowered himself to a crouch. His golden eyes observed the commando, watching for the Navi to bring up his sword, waiting for a sign of weakness. Wolfman lunged forward like a wolf going for the throat of a deer. The DashAttack carried him across the room in the blink of an eye and he raised his shoulder in preparation for the impact. He wanted to smash the commando between him and the wall, pinning the Navi down and disabling him.

Summary:
1. Dodge
2. RageClaw(40 or 20) to fling CommandoA against wall
3. DashAttack(90, Impact) to CommandoA
Bard quickly retreated from where she was and began to play a haunting tune over the attacking Commando. The barbed musical notes restricted the Commando in place and a powerful slash cut through the Commando. It was heavily wounded, near death to be exact, but it clenched its teeth against the pain and retaliated with two quick stab with its hidden knife, stopping Bard from delivering the final blow and sending her into a critical state. "Damn police *huff huff* and we were so close!" It tried to move into the Tarasque's control room as its last act, trying to stop the fortress from reaching its destination, but a swift stomp on its head finally stopped the navi from its place and knocked it unconscious. "Those Netmafias won't stop at anything..." As Captain looked down at the knocked out navi, he had a small grim expression on his face. However, it was quickly wiped off when he realized that Garou was in a similar situation!

Garou barely dodged the attack as the blade swiftly crashed down on the catapult console. The canine navi quickly landed on his feet and jumped straight towards the commando with his claw, temporarily seizing the navi and throwing it across the control room. Even after receiving such impact, the mafia navi was quick on his feet and dodge the straight forward attack and even land a swift stab right on Garou's chest. Garou's dashattack broke straight through the control room's wall and sent him out in the cold, along with Captain and Bard. Now it was three on one, the lone commando was obviously at a disadvantage, but it stood confidently against its opponent with a sharp gaze.

Bard hit the ground hard, and heavily wounded. She slowly pushed herself up from the ground after noticing she was outside of the machine. Broken and bruised she cursed and hit the ground saying, "Why is it that I always get so close to deletion? This is the third time in a row right before we were finished on the net. So close to the goal, and I get heavily wounded."

"Holy shit!" Leo exclaimed as he saw Bard health deplete quickly. He shuffled through his chip, finding what he could to help. Without any form of health chip Bard would be forced to use defense to help keep her alive. With the goal so close, and the odds so against the favor of the commander, they couldn't stop hitting him. At this point, the only defense for them is a strong offense. He slotted in the riskhoney1 chip and the guard chip to be used by Bard.

The data rushed through Bard as she was still laying on the ground. Upon feeling it, she pushed herself upwards to look at the enemy. He fairly heavily wounded, and with these odds it should be the end of him. She looked to her teammate, who was doing rather well for himself. She felt almost embarrassed by how badly she had allowed herself to be hit. She knew that to impress this Navi and bust with him again, she couldn't let this phase her took much in the offense. Leo instructed her what to do, and why they couldn't go defensive over a private line. She nodded in agreement and starting to attack.

Her first move was to get the first of the defenses up. She pulled the piccolo to her lips, and began to play a low tones earthy melody. A bee flew from the end of the piccolo on the first few notes. After that more bees swarmed out and surrounded the musical warrior. Her form was soon no longer visible below the exterior of the bees.

Leo looked over his options for the chip to use. He slotted in the two shotguns, they provided the best shot abilities. Getting close was not what he needed Bard to do right now. "Fire off one of the shotguns, then start the guard, just in case he attacks you. Then fire the other shotgun. We need to insure that your defense holds, or else you will fold, which is..."

"No good." Bard knew what was at stake if she messed this up. The ever so dangerous Emergency Jack Out. And her pride. She pulled her piccolo to her lips and tracked the movements of the commander. She played a quick fast beat, with many high notes and quick changes in the beat. After a moment longer, she brought the piccolo to eye level and drew a bead on the commander. She mouthed the word 'Bang' as she fire the shotgun at the target.

Without missing a beat Bard pulled up her guard chip. By singing a simple song, the guard was around her, such a simple spell didn't require much in the way of a difficult song. She waiting a moment before starting to upload her final shotgun. "Lets finish this Bard," Leo said over private chat to the determined Navi. Bard repeated her previous spell casting for the shotgun, and fired the attack once more.

Summary
1) Riskhoney1 to Self (5x10 Homing)
2) Shotgun to Commander A (50 + Splash)
3) Guard to Self (60 bounceback)
4) Shotgun to Commander A (50 + Splash)
Wolfman groaned as he pushed himself up from the frozen ground. Snow fell all around him and he shivered despite the coat of fur that was hidden by his GMO. His shoulder ached and he worked his arm in a slow circle as he glanced around him.

"Well, that didn't go quite as planned." Victor mused.

"It seems that I don't know my own strength," Wolfman answered as his golden eyes fell on the hole ripped through the side of the Tarasque.

Wolfman's eyes surveyed his situation as he went over the last few moments in his head. He had hurled the commando against the wall and had charged after in an effort to pin the Navi against the wall. Unfortunately, his plan hadn't very smoothly. The commando had dodged away and managed to score a clean hit against Wolfman's side with his sword in the process. Wolfman's charge had taken him to the wall, crashing into it and then through it to land in the snow below.

Wolfman caught a low moan below the howling winds and caught sight of Bard pushing herself up. Evidently, his companion had fallen through the hole as well. She was injured, far more than himself, and Wolfman could only assume she had taken a hit during the fall. He moved to apologize when he noticed the Captain and the commando as well. The battle was still going on and apologies would have to wait.

"Victor," Wolfman asked. "What do we have left?"

"Not much," the NetOp replied. "I wasn't expecting anything of this magnitude. I suppose you can use some of the gun battlechips or maybe the bomb. I doubt hiding will be much of an aid at this juncture."

Wolfman nodded, trusting in Victor to send him the battlechips that would be of the most use. He trusted in his senses as well, examining the smells that wafted to his nostrils. The commando was wounded and outnumbered, but unafraid. The Mafia Navi was a dangerous individual, ready to kill or be killed. Wolfman knew the commando would be a tough to defeat in a straight forward manner.

A shotgun roared twice and Wolfman watched as Bard, obscured by a layer of bees, raised a shield to protect herself. It was past time for Wolfman to attack as well.

The Navi rushed forward, his strength carrying him toward the commando. Shadows rose up to cover both of his forearms, inky darkness that danced along his skin. Wolfman leaped into the air and slashed down with his right arm. A wave of blackness struck the ground and created a shockwave that hurled him higher into the air. The Navi hoped to use the strength of the explosion to send him sailing over the commando so that he would be able to attack from behind.

Wolfman landed and spun about to face his opponent. He slashed with his left, sending three waves of darkness, like jet black claw marks, hurdling through the air toward the commando. With luck, Wolfman's assault, combined with Bard's, would be enough to cripple the Mafia commando.

The Commando immediately rushed towards Bard with his sword, trying to land the final blow onto the navi. As it closed in, it caught a glimpse of a single bee circling around the navi and abruptly stopped from his track, realizing that Bard has enclosed herself into a triggered defense. It was able to dodge the first blast of the shotgun, but the second made its mark, causing the commando to clench his teeth in pain. "This is too troublesome..." It turned to see that Garou was heading directly at him, and instinctively raised his sword up for a counter strike. However, it didn't expect Garou to catapult straight into the air and land yet another blast of shotgun onto his back.

"Well," Wolfman turned to Bard. "That certainly was interesting. That last bit was such a blur that I hardly know what happened. Suffice to say, I believe we've done well here. Working with you has been an interesting experience."

"Yes," Victor chimed in. "And though we didn't quite get the data we wanted, that last scuffle with the commandos has given me some interesting insights. Perhaps we'll be able to set up another meeting sometime soon."

"I think I would enjoy that," Wolfman said. "And our need for data is certainly important. Of course," Wolfman paused as he sent Victor the zenny and battlechip he had gained. "The secondary benefits of this mission shall prove quite useful."
Bard played a tune to clear away the bees as she saw the EJO of the Commander. She tightly gripped her piccolo as she smiled a pained smile at her new ally. Bard, being both injured and lazy, summoned her raven and sent it to gather the zenny and chips awaiting her. The bird formed on her shoulder, growing from it before gaining the feathery look and form of a raven. "The last bit of that battle passed so quickly, I barely remember it as well. I know it hurt me a lot however."

"Bard, with this new addition of zenny we are close to our goal for the new upgrades and NPC programs. Also, we have the SP file. Even though you were hurt a lot, we got a lot out of this mission, including a new friend," Leo said over a private chat. He changed over to a public channel. "We will be more than happy to bust with you again. I noticed we didn't really get the chance to get the data. We will stay in touch after Bard heals up."

Bard looked to her new ally and opened her mouth to speak, but a flash of light overtook the musical warrior as she left the netways, leaving behind a treble clef shaped midi file, which played a small melody before disappearing as well. Where the midi file was there was a small piece of data with the address of Bard's homepage and the password on it. Leo's voice rang out saying, "Bard really needs to rest, we will stay in touch for another run for your data. Good fighting friends."

Aaaaaaaaaand, Wolfman jacked out to the sound a lone howl.
