Sunshine in Sharo (EVENT!)

Chaos watched as his "comrades" surged forward. Each of the Navi seemed to have a RageClaw equipped and they were all inclined to offer up some up close and personal damage, MeleeMan even going so far as to attempt to hurl the two HeelNavi into one and other. Never being one to follow the crowd, Chaos allowed the RageClaw to slip away, the crimson aura dying down. Without the RageClaw to hamper the GMO, the beige sleeve wrapped itself around Chaos' arm to repair the disguise.

Not wanting to be left out of the fight, despite his loathing to be one with the crowd of battling Navi, Chaos willed his left hand to form a simple beige buster. A gray light shined from the muzzle of the gun. He took aim at the first of the HeelNavi, firing off a simple shot, and then pivoted around to fire off two more small, gray spheres of energy at the new HeelNavi. Not wanting to be caught in any crossfire, Chaos slipped back from the main fighting, intent on dodging anything that came his way.

"Dang, he's got a significant other! I wonder if he's got a name, too! That'd mean he's a returning character!" Seraphim gestured at the navis, then cocked his head slightly, staring at the heelnavi, then bringing his head back, speaking suspiciously. He didn't seem to be a hugely differing character design, but was quite strong, even for a miniboss. Perhaps he was just a recurring miniboss that would just flee the battle. He swished his head back and forth, knocking off some lodged snow before speaking again.

"He doesn't LOOK like a main character... Not easily spotted outside a crowd, no face, no nothing... He's probably just an NPC with a bit of backstory, that's all. This is a really comprehensive game." The navi finished, and nodded, satisfied with his unduly idiotic analysis as he raised his sword-mesh-gun, apparently having no problem with shooting a non-player-character as he yelled out the name of his most powerful self-attack, raising the gun and bringing it down, aiming at the foe.

"Arc Shot!" He roared out, letting the recoil bring his arm up, watching as the expended energy trickled from the gun, the backlash of firing it, then focused his power into it, the gun slightly vibrating as he brought it to bear, the stress of the repeated fire on the weapon budging it slightly, but none more. It was a good weapon. Looking up, Seraphim then began to speak.

"Okay, Mister Evil Person, I'm finishing this, here and now. With this final spell, I'm ending it." He leveled the gun, and yelled out the name of the spell as his operator made a little sarcastic sigh and slipped the appropriate chip in.

"Ka Non!" He yelled, blasting and nearly releasing the gun as he grinned slightly, watching the gun fire a spiral of yellow energy, then leaping back, again and again, before lunging forward with a fist, it glowing red for a second before he brought it straight at the heelnavi, unfortunately, his eyes were closed once again.

He plunged into the snow from the force of the blow once again and groaned as he began to rise, then thought better of it, rolling to the side, sighing as he did so. He was so coooold.

Oberon misses the bobbing Weather, and settles to stab at the HeelNavi. Pianissimo has more luck, and finishes off the cloudy virus. Before he can finish the HeelNavi, he's slammed in the back--by the other HeelNavi?!

"I thought you're supposed to be helping?" The original HeelNavi growls, as he pushes his companion off. "I thought you were supposed to be winning?" The other retorts, as he calmly sidesteps the berserking brute, tripping the grabby muscleman as Meleeman tried to violate his personal space again--"Not today, big guy," he taunted as Meleeman plowed through the snow.

Suddenly, the smart-alerk HeelNavi finds a claw at his throat--"Bloody--" He growls, as Triggerman begins to reorganize his head.

"Get off him." Triggerman hears, before he's roughly seized by the cloak and hurled off the HeelNavi he had been clinging to--"'Give him your best?' Keep your fantasies to yourself, buddy." Triggerman clambers to his feet, a blue spike falling at his feet, its companions lodged in his right arm.

Chaos serves as an annoyance, peppering blasts on the HeelNavis. They ignore him.

Seraphim's delusions of self grandeur would have worked marvelously if Triggerman had been still holding the HeelNavi in place--the Arc Shot and "Ka Non" hit their marks, but the HeelNavi unleashes a wave of frost as he rushes in for the RageClaw! Seraphim lunges the completely wrong way--saving his butt, but exposing Oberon to a icy blast!

Chaos sneered as his companions were beaten back by the two HeelNavi. He had made the right decision in not jumping into the pile of RageClaw obsessed Navi. Their technique was too bland, too boring. Chaos required a bit more variety in his life. He had just about enough of this particular escapade, having only wanted to kill the Navi that had rendered him unconscious. He had no desire to play in the snow with such worthless individuals.

"Pfeh," Chaos spat as his dull, beige buster began to hum softly. "Why don't you just die?"

The low hum increased in speed and pitch, a gray light doing its best to shine from within the rather plain barrel of the even plainer gun. Chaos locked onto the weaker of the two HeelNavi, determined to rid the world of such a miserable creature as soon as possible. It didn't deserve to exist with the likes of Chaos, none of them did. Chaos chuckled softly as he mentally pulled the trigger.

A massive, though still incredibly average and plain, gray beam shot out of the beige buster. The beam fly straight and true, though its size obscured Chaos' view of his target. He couldn't be sure of his success, though he didn't really care who he hit at this point. He fired off a second, smaller shot, immediately after the first for good measure, before stepping back to view the carnage.

"Very high agility, Evil man, but that can't save you from the power of the chosen ones! You're just a generic miniboss! Take this!" Seraphim leapt from his prone-like position with his eyes firmly shut, that seemed to be his form of attacking with his fists, as he stumbled, completely missing and going face-flat once more into the ground. As he spun around, he seemed actually angry, though that quickly faded into irritated feelings of incompetence, then to a slight inferiority complex, then flickered to just plain frustration as he hauled himself up from the snow, shivering intensely and trying to warm himself up almost completely uselessly.

"You- You... Erin! Is there any spell I could use against this guy?" Seraphim asked as he scrambled back from the fight, shaking some of the quickly growing wet snow off, as well as the water that was already quickly becoming frozen to his slightly skimpily armored form. He whirled and looked plaintitively at his operator, gesturing toward his weapon in hopes for a response to his query. His stare of "bambi-eyes" was slightly ruined by the fact that his entier body was shivering and his teeth were chattering so hard that he could barely move his mouth to form the proper words. He didn't think he wanted to come to sharo ever again after this was done, somewhere warm would be much better. How would Mister Fighter-Boxing-Monk put it? "To warm up the fires of the soul and battle!"? Whichever way, it had to be better than this...

"..." His operator turned her head away, pretending not to notice him for a short period of time, but turned back, unable to hold her own against his look at her. She sighed. She would tell him, she supposed, reluctantly as it would be, it would help to end this battle quicker, because the participants would swiftly run out of spell- she meant chips, and be reduced to spamming the chips left that they had, namely the rageclaw, except for the strange beige normalnavi, who seemed determined to be a rebel and shoot with his buster. He didn't seem to be doing much anyway, so he didn't really matter in the long run.

"Fine. I just received some spells through trading for them. It cost me a pretty penny." The girl said, "The spell name is Baru Kan. It fires three rapid shots. You've got a supply of two of these at the moment, don't abuse it or it'll run out." The girl finished, recluctantly sliding in the twin chips and watching her navi with a sigh, lying back in her bed and activating the holographic projector so that it would display the battle, pulling out earphones and connecting them to the PET so that she wouldn't disturb anyone, she didn't want anyone taking this battle away from her. She stared intently at the battlefield as she fluffed up her pillow and fell onto it, glaring at the heelnavis.

"Right, then! You're in for trouble now!" The navi said, go-lucky now as he leveled the gun-mesh-sword at his foes, grinning slightly as he held it with both hands, channeling his energies into it, closing his eyes and concentrating on it with all of his might, then yelling out the name of the spell, "Baru Kan!" The weapon clicked for a quick second, then produced rapid results, namely; The sword-mesh-gun spat its load of energy, blasting out three quick shots and Seraphim let the recoil send his arms up into the air, watching as the three spears of energy launched themselves at the foe, as trickles of remnant energy vented from the sword-mesh-gun. He didn't pause to see the result, spinning to view the other Heelnavi and displaying a giant grin at the result of his attack, then closing his eyes and repeating the process, channeling his energy into the arcane weapon, this time though, he began to run to the side, attempting to make himself a hard target before firing the weapon once more.

"Mister Boxing-Fighter-Monk Man, did you see that?" He yelled out, to the now closer meleeman... who he seemed to have run to talk to, not to make himself a less conspicuous target. Seraphim seemed to be the eternal fool as he loudly exclaimed this, then moved on to his next slightly obnoxiously annoying point quite smoothly.

"I can do it again, see? Baru... Kan!" He yelled out, releasing the energy in three sharp bursts of yellow energy, once again feeling the recoil, but this time bringing it in what he thought was an expert motion, guiding it to his side as he felt the sword-mesh-gun slap against his shoulder, leaving it there as he nodded somewhat arrogantly, looking at the smoke clearing with a slight smirk on his face, although it was one of simple triumph, not one of malice or sarcasm.

"Buraaah!" MeleeMan grumbled, falling headfirst into the snowdrift. He landed embarassingly, submurged from the shoulders up, then arose and sneezed loudly. "Y-y-you s-son of a b-b-b-!"

"Save it for now, MeleeMan," Rania informed him, half out of the urgency of defending the ears of the smaller children in the park and half out of the need for him to stay focused on the battle. "Even if the attack didn't go like you wanted it to, these guys are on the ropes. They should go down pretty soon. It's time for the old ten count!"

MeleeMan looked back and forth as moisture began to harden on his upper lip, frowning sorely. "T-That chip's interesting, b-but what the h-h-hhell is it? Baru kan?" he chattered.

"Sounds like Engrish," Rania muttered, then covered her mouth, realizing she'd given away more evidence of her gaming side.

"Wh-What was that?" MeleeMan asked suspiciously.

"Uh, I said, sounds like he's got bad english. That's probably why he keeps calling you a monk too," she defended. "Now, you're out of attack options for now. What I'm going to suggest is that you make use of your fists, since there are currently no other options."

"Heh. Fine by me," MeleeMan replied with a nod. He charged one fist with a burst of smoke, then went in for a hit. "You got luck that time, punk! This time, I'm going to knock you flat!" he roared, bringing his fist back and attempting to drive it hard into his opponents stomache. He smirked cockily. "Your fancy tricks will be of no avail against my fists; they're as hard as iron and are full of my very soul!" After his assault, he drew back and raised his fists in preperation of his opponent's attacks.

Oberon's shout of pain and anger was joined by a shrill sound from deep inside his chest, warping his voice into a kind of double-tounge. "Idiot!" He screamed, instantly cutting off the other sound and tearing his eyes away form his target just long enough to shoot a deadly glare at Seraphim. The gem on his chest glimmered brightly and flashed an occasional bright silver, catching the light of its wearer's fury. That Navi should've escaped with the rest of them, he thought/said to his operator as he quickly regained his balance and gave some space for his allies to press the assault. Not even a warning. He's dead weight on our shoulders!

Over his own fury and Titania's silent voice, Oberon heard Sarah trying to calm him down. She was trying to make excuses for Seraphim, but her tone betrayed her. Sarah, unlike Kazu, had never seen Oberon enter battle. For Oberon, at least some measure of unbridled rage was a normal part of his battle routine. A human might worry about the effects of emotions in battle, but for Oberon, loss of self-control was a non-issue. Fear for Titania, fear for himself, and anger at his opponents were honed into a fine blade of hatred that made him stronger.

Well, he needs to learn that life's not a game, spat Oberon inwardly.

The midnight-blue jewel on Oberon's chest stopped its flickering and resumed a steady, pulsing glow as his blades were ignited with an orange aura for the second time. Something tempered the fury in his heart before it reached his blank eyes: Determination. He knew that his allies would be in danger if he allowed them to remain the primary targets, and he would not allow Titania to become one herself.

When the air cleared of projectiles, Oberon's blades crossed acrossed his body and he lunged forward to cleave the injured HeelNavi across the midsection, intending to finish it there. The look on his face was the grim leer of an executioner, and he didn't even wait to see the results of his strike before whirling to thrust both blades into the HeelNavi's companion.

He jumped back with that same sneer pasted across his features, the blades switching back to their position at his sides. The blade of hatred that had heightened his senses died with his opponents, and only then.

Well, he's lost it, thought Pianissimo as he heard Oberon lash out at Seraphim. Nevertheless, the guy had a point. WHY did this...Seraphim, as his scanners identified the navi, seem to think that this was a game. He fights recklessly, thinking no one is going to be permanently harmed, and look where it puts us. Not only that, he keeps trying to show off and "raise friendship level" when he needs to just focus on the battle.

No wonder most navis don't like teaming up he finished saying to himself, examining the still active RageClaw chip on his right hand. The claws were worn, and looked like they might shatter at any moment. Not wanting to risk that in the middle of battle, he deactivated it. His own katana would have to do, though it was nowhere near as powerful.

Focusing energy into the katana, Pianissimo watched as a dark aura surrounded the already black blade. The dark glow soon gave way to an eerie light that looked as though it were being emitted by a blacklight. The air around the blade sparked as the katana began to shake in his hand.

That should be enough, Pianissimo thought, looking at the heelnavi he had been attacking. It looked like Oberon had that one covered, so he turned to the other, of which he wasn't as sure. The attacks on this guy were fairly weak, and few and far between.

Pianissimo waited for them to die down, then rushed that navi, seeming to vanish as he used the chaotic nature of the battle to get to the other side of the navi hopefully unseen, and swinging his katana right at the navi's throat.

Triggerman found himself getting well reacquainted with the taste of pain; it assailed his pinned right arm, barely numbed by the bitter chill of the atmosphere.

...Get up, he told himself. Gritting his teeth, he heaved his form off the snow-laden ground. He shook the pain off, ignoring the twang in his gun arm as he reset himself. Without hesitation, he firmly gripped each ice shard, and removed them with a sharp jerk.

It had been a bad hand, but Triggerman intended to play his cards well this deal; Lady Luck be damned.
The western wind hung low, grazing the edge of his hanging serape.

Go.

And again, the breeze faithfully fled to where it was commanded. It travelled along the ground towards the recent heel, accumulating snow as it flew. In another moment, the cloud threw itself across the Heel's purple frame, engulfing the antagonist to put him at the mercy of the battle's hostilities.

The slinger was quick to take advantage of it; with a lighting motion, he drew the holstered six-shooter and brought it to firing level almost at once.
With violent intentions, he clicked the hammer down savagely. Four, he reminded himself.

Staring down the barrel with one eye, Triggerman put himself into the mindset; he stilled the wavering sight with a marked expertise, inhaling gently as his favourite finger drew closer to it's conjugate.
The coffin man's customers were soon to be made, but they'd get no burial.

A roar erupted from the .45's barrel as it dispatched an instance of cold lead.
A gut full of bullets would be the bastard's last meal; Triggerman resolved to be the facilitator of fatalities.

...Three.

Chaos's first attack nails the heelnavi, but as Seraphim jogs forward, eyes closed, and is hit by the second. Lucky for him, this one's mouch weaker. He then unloads with duel Vulcans. The navi tries to run, dodging the first bullter, but the second catches him in the leg, tripping him up. As he falls, another lands. The second enemy rushes forward to assist, only to be hit trice by the second Vulcan. Meleeman slams his fist into him, knocking him flat on his back. Oberon finishes off the weaker heelnavi before turning on its ally. The wind causes the navi to flinch before being struck by another attack. He tries lashing out at Meleeman and Oberon, but they don't have to put much effort into dodging. His desparation is obvious.

"Who do you think you are?" MeleeMan yelled, roaring with anger as he brought his fist back around. "Are you trying to hit me?" he cried, running for the enemy navi. As his fist glew with red-hot energy, he skid to a stop in front of the navi, melting the clumped snow around him as his fist nearly drug across the ground. "I'm giving you a chance to see what the spirit of a real warrior is all about! There's no retreat for you; think of this as a gift!" he yelled, attempting to plow his fist hard into the navi's gut and discharge energy.

"Wow. It's impressive watching him use his fists like that," Rania admitted. "Even if he is a punk, he's got a lot of talent and potential..."

"Who are you talking to, Rania?" MeleeMan huffed. "You should speak to me directly. Like a partner. Not an equal, but a partner, at least."

Rania smiled, thinking the statement slightly awkward. "Well, if you'll permit me to be even that much, I'll be happy!" she joked, tilting her head to the side and grinning.

"I won't allow this to go unpunished, you evil recurring foe of goodness!" The navi spoke, flinging an arm to the side as he leveled the gun at the rapidly disappearing corpse of the heelnavi, grinning triumphantly all the while. He quickly made a victory pose, not even looking at the other heelnavi, as if that heelnavi didn't even exist at all. Or that he didn't notice that heelnavi, and that he thought he had utterly won it all. He seemed to not notice at all as he questioned his operator on the proper times to receive loot, and when he would be receiving it in this particular battle, despite the fact that a single foe was left standing. Seeing as he was ignorant of that heelnavi's existence, it could most likely be forgiven of him.

"So, when do I receive the rewards, the loot, the achievements of battle?" The navi questioned eagerly, stroking his chin with his free hand and looking eagerly at his operator, longing to go up a level yet again as he removed his hand from his chin and placed it upon his hip, holding his gun-mesh-sword in a pose on his shoulder almost arrogantly, if it weren't for the fact that he looked a bit stupid, incredibly cliche'd, and that he wasn't doing anything to help his Allies in their attempt to slaughter the final foe. He continued looking questioningly at his operator as he cocked his head slightly. This seemed touchy. His operator's expression was changing something more easily recognizable as "mad".

"Sorry, Seraphim, it doesn't quite work that way... when you haven't dele-defeated the final boss." The girl sighed, smiling slightly as she looked at her wayward navi and his antics all around. She called for a nurse, whom she requested some tea of. The nurse walked off, nodding to herself, as well as muttering, while the girl was left there, her eyes partway closed as she listened to the sounds of battle, then picked up a spare blanket off the chair nearby, spreading it over herself and watching the battle intently with half-closed eyes.

"Oh." Seraphim did a double-take as he turned around fast enough to crick his neck and back, which he did, and quickly cricked it the other way to get the strange feelings out. He stared at the foe intently, then raised the sword-mesh-gun, gesturing with it in a melodramatic manner before beginning to speak. He didn't know that the heelnavi was alive indeed. He went for the most dramatic thing to do, attempting a first- disabling shot on the heelnavi before going in for the kill with the most dramatic thing he could do. But first... A monologue, worthy of cut-sceneness.

"You who destroys the livelyhood of poor navis, you who demolishes the happiness and sunshine of others... You cannot be forgiven! You will be defeated, here, now, and under my attacks! Perish... Arc Shot!" He screamed this out with a roar, in a much lower voice than normal before releasing the blast, stumbling back under the recoil, which he knew wouldn't be enough. He had to throw in something more.

"Enough with the cutscenes, let's finish it with one last shot. Your evil actions have been affirmed, there is no court of law for you inside this game, there is only destruction for your actions. (Of course, you'll probably get away to plague us multiple times over several battles in the future, but I'm not supposed to know that.) You will be destroyed by the onslaught of myself and my allies, (Who by the way, exceed the normal party number, which shouldn't be possible, they aren't part of the party, which means they should be enemies, or maybe they're just allies o-) Anyway, I'm running out of synonyms for defeat." Finishing this extremely long barrage of words, Seraphim paused, thinking about what to do. He could fire twin shots and dodge, or he could do the overly dramatic, cut-scene worthy move.

"Definitely... Charge.... Shot!" He yelled out, raising the sword-mesh gun in bothe hands, bringing it to bear on the on the heelnavi, then raising it up in the air, gathering power along the edge, which gathered in a bright white hot sphere at the very tip, Seraphim's eyes closed as he brought it down, aiming straight at the heelnavi, and let it go in a burst, yelling out the name of the attack once again as he almost let the sword-mesh-gun fly straight out of his hands, but instead brought it back and sheathed it, making it disappear in a bright flash of light, settling himself down for the rewards of the day and smiling, holding up a fist, expecting victory, triumphant.

1] Arc Shot [8]
2-4] Charge Shot [16]
Chaos watched the eccentric Navi ramble on, a stupefied expression obscured by the beige mask. Was this Seraphim really giving a monologue during the middle of a battle? The thought was outrageous, but slightly captivating to the evil Navi. He decided the he must try it himself one of these days. Perhaps, after leaving MeleeMan wounded and dying on the ground, he could give a grand speech about his sinister motivations. It would be the crowning achievement to top off such a day as this.

"Chaos!" Rayth shouted over the private line. "Stop daydreaming that finish that bastard off."

"Tch...Fine."

The low hum sounded once more, a grayish light seeming to emerge from the barrel of Naviman's buster arm. The hum grew louder as the light intensified, though it was admittedly hard to tell because of its rather plain nature. Tendrils of smoke rose from the muzzle of the gun, gray smoke that blended in perfectly with the gray light. The humming reached a crescendo, with the light so bright that it would sting the eyes if it had not been gray.

"Time to finish this..." Chaos said in a rather plain voice.

An ordinary explosion sounded and a massive, yet average, beam of gray light escaped the barrel of the buster. The light sped toward the HeelNavi at the normal speed of such things. Chaos didn't bother to see if he hit or missed, instead focusing on launching a follow-up attack. Another blast of dull, gray light escaped the gun. This second blast was much smaller, but still fairly average. It too sped at a normal pace toward the HeelNavi.

Oberon twirled sideways, allowing the HeelNavi to miss him by just a hair, then seemed to vanish into the snow as he leapt forward past his near-finished opponent. The stone set in his sternum glimmered one last time in the firelight of its wearer's soul an instant before both ghostly blades plunged into the HeelNavi's back. Oberon's expression was grim and his movements were crisp. The blade of hatred deep in his heart was still honed and still able to slice through emotion and distractions, even at the end of the battle, to deliver a final blow. The fire that had cast its unnatrual light across Oberon's ivory form extinguished along with the fire in his empty eyes as he withdrew his blades, then let his arms fall to his sides.

The punching swords vanished, as if they had been absorbed into the rest of the white-on-white landscape Oberon's body. His face, as usual, revealed nothing-- but had anyone been close enough to see, they would have seen the expression of happiness on his otherwise blank features.

He had done it. They had done it. That was enough.

Their first combat ever since the incident. It had felt just like old times... almost. It was almost like they had been fighting like a team. Oberon realized that his arms were raised as if in an embrace, an embrace with the ghostly figure that should be in front of him.

The smile quickly faded from Oberon's face as he turned to face his allies.

That's enough... thought Pianissimo, watching his comrades lay it into the surviving HeelNavi. First the fiery boxing navi, then the weirdo, then Chaos. Then he saw Oberon, not taking any chances and hitting the navi as hard as he could. More than enough. If I fight as well, I'll probably just be beating a dead horse. Then again... The stagnant air surrounding his blade returned, the blacklight-esque glow returned...Pianissimo once again focused energy into the blade. The blade began to vibrate as he finished, bringing it above his head with both arms...jumping, and bringing the blade down in a brilliant slashing motion.

Getting back to his feet, Pianissimo looked at his allies. That should do it, he thought. He couldn't help but wonder how many of them were like him, in that this was their first real battle. It doesn't really matter, he supposed, they all fought like veterans. Well...for the most part.

The winds were telling Triggerman what the diminishing Count had confirmed; the tide of battle drew towards it's death. The end was in sight over the horizon, and despite Lady Luck's protest, it was coming.

The HeelNavi had but himself to rely on now, and he was at the mercy of 6 guns.
The perfect number.

Spinning the Colt around his finger for a final time, Triggerman caught the gun's handle in a cold grip. His spare hand lowered his hat habitually, as cold breath to the heat of deeds.

Maybe the bullets weren't needed, but Triggerman decided to indulge himself.
He was feeling Lucky at the moment, even if the Lady was sleeping if around. To hell with her and her dice.

He gave the chamber a spin, inciting a succession of clicks that finally came to rest after several rotations. Immediately, the slinger struck the hammer down, as if to accentuate the violence at hand.

The other combatants had made their final attacks, almost in tribute to a finality; the heel had had the misfortune of being without a coffin.

The Western Wind conversed in his ear, almost as if in inquiry. Three rounds... a 50/50 chance.
His faith was in the barrel; it was some fortune that it was pointed away from him. If Lady Luck was agreeable, she'd have fixed him up with a bullet-housing chamber.

He shut his left eye once more, and staring down the plane of the barrel, he commanded the hovering sight across the assailed Heel. In a moment, his practiced hand stilled the aim over the navi's head.

The trigger pull would reveal who's side Dame Fortune had favored; his barrel, or the heel's head.

But dead men had little use for luck.

With gritted teeth, the slinger's trigger finger drew itself to it's fatal spouse, making a lethal pact as they embraced.

"And that's that," said Pianissimo. "Now, you..." he turned to face Oberon. "I believe you wanted a word with me?"

"That'll have to wait, P," said Rigel as the PET communications suddenly crackled to life. A screen appeared in midair near the group, facing Pianissimo. Rigel appeared in it, his expression hard to read as always. "Hi. I am Pianissimo's operator," he said to the others, before directing his attention back to Pianissimo. "I want you ro take a look at this. A post on the Internet City BBS."

The post in question flashed onto the floating screen.

*AHEM* I can explain the sunshine thing. Their called sunshine chips, not heard of them myself, although probably my navi has. Right now I'm kind of busy though, as I'm stuck in the wierdest battle ever. "Sexy ninjas" V.S "Guy with a bunch-o-viruses". You can kind of see my situation by the pic.

There was also a picture of a navi, presumably belonging to the poster, being chased by a bunch of viruses, most appearing to be of Undernet origin.

"So a guy's stuck in a weird fight and is personally completely outmatched. I don't see the problem, unless you plan on staging a rescue mission."

"Look again," sighed Rigel. "And this time pay more attention to where they are."

Pianissimo looked again, and understood at once. "There's no mistaking it...that's the NetSquare." Turning to his comrades once more, his calm voice almost undermined the serious nature of the situation. "It would appear that this was a diversion. Someone, probably the leader of these guys, lured us away from the netsquare. I don't know what they're planning on doing there, but it's probably not good."

"Oh, and I'm not sure who does and doesn't care about this, but it looks like there are a few navis left in there. And if this picture is accurate, at least one of them is about to get their asses kicked."
MeleeMan rubbed the thick arms of his jacket and chattered his teeth as the heat of battle came to a close. "H-h-hardly worth the ef-effort," he stuttered, reaching up with one hand to wipe the crusting moisture from under his nose. "C-c-can you g-get me out of h-here now, Rania?"

"Sure, I think. It's wierd; we got a bunch of money, but there's no sign of any Sunshine chip data. I guess other ones must have taken it," she theorized, arching her eyebrows acutely and rubbing under her chin. "Regardless, it's good that you all came out victorious."

"Und-doubtedly, this m-moment of triumph is wholly attr-ttributable t-to me!" he smirked, still rubbing his arms and looking pitiful. He turned to the navi who had been callin him a monk earlier, extending one hand out to shake his. "G-good work out there, p-pal," he sniffled, then suddenly sneezed, a large globule hanging from his nose, which was just barely visible under the brim of his eyeshield. He wiped it with a loud, crass snort, then extended the dripping hand out to Seraphim. "Let's sh-shake. A b-bond of b-b-brothers."
Oberon listened silently for a moment, and studied the picture with the others, arms folded across his chest. "If you're right about this, then we just fell for a diversion," he said emphatically, letting his arms fall to his sides, where they balled into tight fists. His weapons rematerialized on his hands, twin blades regaining their solid form out of ethereal clouds of white. "We're going back there-- now. We can't just leave those people while they're in danger!"

His face twisted just slightly-- Oberon was clearly upset at being had like this. His pendant flashed as he turned his head, and a small pulsing light from within the blue jewel grew brighter as the outlines of the half-Navi's body flickered against the white background of snow.

He stood and stared into the distance with an almost defiant look on his face for a moment, then finally said, "But Titania begs to differ." His tone was exasperated, but he seemed to be used to relaying, verbatim, his other half's thoughts. "We offered to help retrieve the chips, and the so-called Sexy Ninjas are vigilantes just like us. They have taken up their battle, and we have taken up ours. The best thing we can do in this situation is to do the task that is expected of us, regardless of who we leave to be deleted."

Oberon's expression was slightly less sour than it would have been if someone else had tried to tell him that, but even despite the empty nature of his facial features, it was easy to see that he was unhappy.

Stay safe for a while, came a male voice. Sarah's going to get chips for you, and I think I may know someone who can shed light on this situation. Kazu sounded excited about his discovery. Titania realized it long before Oberon did, but Kazu did indeed know someone in particular who would be able to help...
