DenTech University Virus Bomb

The viruses were all linear again...though this time, they formed two separate lines. Who knew why they were divided the way they were, though...other than the person that made the bomb, anyway.

--- BATTLE FIVE, SET ---
=== A BATTLE FIVE WITHOUT A BOSS ===
+++ GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-(inhale)-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Trent was caught in between two lines of enemies. He knew that the firepower would be painful as anything if he let them simply open up on him, and instinctively started to take a few tiny steps backwards, turning to where his back was now facing away from the lines, and he merely had to turn his head slightly to see one or the other. Mark had taken one look at the battle, and produced a plan, something that Trent couldn't even focus on doing right now.

"Toss this at the lines in the front," Mark instructed. "Then I'll send a knife chip and after using it, set Feel No Pain up."

Trent wasn't in the place to disagree. "Alright. Send the poison then," Trent said, already knowing what it was that Makr was referring to throwing. Trent, after taking a quick moment to think about it, rather liked this plan that Mark had come up with. What a rare thought pattern for the Navi.

Mark slotted in the chips and said, "With some luck, the ones at the other end will be hurt just bad enough for us to finish them off with Feel No Pain going," Mark said, hoping to end this battle as quickly as possible for the duo. "Try out my plan," Mark added at the end, throwing extra emphasis on 'my'.

Reaching down into his pocket, the knife fighter pulls out the oddest weapon even given to him; a tiny purple popcorn kernel shaped object. The surface was no solid though, and it kept shifting and and changing from the liquid inside. Trent turned to the front of the class, and look down at the three viruses once more, before casually throwing the seed towards them. He took enough aim to throw it so it didn't hurt anyone.

Trent snapped himself back around to face the other two, one of which he charged, his full weight being thrown behind the idea of simply getting his feet moving quickly. Trent uploaded the sword data, and withdrew a knife from his holster, which extended to a full length blue blade. Something far different than Trent's standard weapon.

"Now, Its up to you, but I wouldn't focus on double slashing the gunner. If we can get some damage on that, a later smaller attack could end it for him and we will have more damage spread out," Mark said, seeming to try to push his luck with how much he could get in strategy wise. Trent answered his suggestion by jumping into the air, rising the blue blade above his head, as he descended in his fall towards the gunner. He slashed quickly and harshly, the blade humming happily as he used it. Trent carried his forwards force as h fell to the ground and rolled, and in one smooth movement, threw another slash towards the gunner. Trent rolled to the side, just for insurance, and then stood up.

Mark always disliked when Trent used invisibility or the Feel No Pain mode. He could never tell what Trent was doing, and if no for now and having set the plan, Mark would have no idea what the Navi was planning to do or attack with. The same thing happened here, as Trent readied his coding with the trap, set to spring very shortly.

Summary
*Passive PUll if a target appemts to break close combat.
1) Poison Seed the Ground under the front of the class group. (Creates a medium Group of poison panels.
2) Sword to GunnerEX (80 + Slashing)
3) Sword to GunnerEX (80 + Slashing)
*Free Action: Swordplay: Dodge
4) Feel No Pain Process (Trigger (Start of Next turn) + Shadow)
Trent kicked things off this time with the most dreaded of all attacks; throwing a seed not meant to harm a fly. And indeed, it didn't, as it landed and made the area around it a swamp that harmed everything it touched...though the PulseBulb didn't seem to really care. The IronShield did, and launched a pair of bombs from its arsenal, though it proved too hasty, and both explosives missed. The Melody wasn't too thrilled about things, either, but settled for hopping to safer ground instead of revenge.

After whipping out a Sword for usage, the Navi ran over the the Gunner, and leaped. The turret virus, however, settled for looking, locking onto its attacker...as he very nearly tore it in two. However, it failed to completely destroy it, causing Trent to be caught in a storm of machine gun fire.

PEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEW!

Despite his best efforts, nearly half of the downpour of bullets managed to find their target, inflicting fairly severe damage (10x4). But it wouldn't happen again, since the second slash ended up completing the job of carving it into pieces. The FighterPlan took up its hat, though, and flew right towards the knife wielding Navi while shooting at hit with its twin guns. Another shot entered him, but at least the plane itself wasn't able to connect as it flew by him.

An unhappy scowl crossed his face as the bullets all connected with him, causing painful wounds. His hands covered the worst of the wounds, as he coughed from the pain and lost his breath. As the final pass of spray fire from the plane subsided, Trent knew it was his turn to play. He let his hand fall to his holsters, as he snatched two new knives from the sides, as he killed the energy beam from his sword battle chip. Trent thought he would probably need it later, but later be be worried with then.

"OK Trent," Mark started, "Lets wipe these guys. None of them will have the attacks required to harm you while you're in Feel No Pain, so you won't even have to move your feet. Lets unleash the best chips we have here."

Trent nodded in agreement as his raised his two knives to an attacking stance, as a deep shadow overtook his form. All his shadows became instantly dark; a super imposed black color. All of his shadows looked very graphic and have clear cut off points for where they ended. Trent closed his eyes briefly, taking in the moment, and mentally preparing himself to act with the attack mode he was in.

'No stopping. No pain. No fear.' Trent let out one last breath before quickly opening his eyes to the scene before him. The three at the front of the PET, they were his targets. He shifted his weight to the side as he pulled up the first chip from his set, his trusted Kunai. Mark was a little weary of putting it in the collection, seeing as the damage compared to the next wave of chips was minimal. But Trent couldn't feel more at home with the familiar steel clenched between his fingers. He threw one knife each at the front targets, only shifting his weight and changing his stance as needed to get the force and arch behind the thrown blade.

Trent pulled up the next chip quickly, ready to invoke its power before the virus he was watching got the chance to react. The data of the totem was present within his pistol and he pulled it from its holster, holding the old knife hilt he was wielding flush against the grip of the tactical pistol. He fired the bullet to the left of the lines, aiming beside the melodyEX virus. From the impact point of the round, the totem grew and dropped its nutcracker style jaw open wide, and unleashed hellfire unto the viruses.

Trent grabbed the second to last chip he was sent, the wavearm. Trent's arms swelled up beyond their normal bulky size as he held his two knives in reverse grip and slammed his arms into the panels, the knives piercing them. The shockwave traveled far and fast towards the ironshield. Trent knew that the attack would miss the flying pulsebulb, so Trent finished off his attacks on them with his machinegun chip. He pistol was in his hands once more, as he locked the iron and green sights of the weapon to the flying virus. The mutated pistol shot 9 powerful rounds towards the flying creature, Trent trying to hit at least a few times. But he knew for each miss, a different target might be struck.

Trent, still in feel no pain mode, and still mostly unmoved from his original location, turned to the fighterplane. No damage had been directed at it during this assault, and Trent knew that the final virus, assuming the others would be deleted, would give him troubled to to its flying abilities. Trent rushed over to the side of it, and jumped into the air, attempting to latch unto the bottom of the plane, ready to hold on for dear life like a bull rider.

Mark was offset by Trent's actions. He knew that the fighterplan would be a troublesome final deletion, but literally riding the virus couldn't be a well thought out plan.He chose to say nothing.

In the blink of an eye, Trent acquired Shadow status, allowing him to completely mock his opponents. Unfortunately, most the frontal viruses were able to do the same, as the kunais bounced harmlessly off of PulseBulb's body, and IronShield's...iron shield. It nearly missed the Melody as well, but since it tried to bounce straight into the Navi, it ended up eating Electopian knife. And it didn't even get the satisfaction of squashing its target, as Trent proved incorporeal enough that it went completely through him. That'll learn it.

The Totem then formed where the musical note had been, and blew some hazardous flames. Sadly, the PulseBulb still dared to not even flinch, and the IronShield simply turned around to absorb the fire with its shield. It tried to do the same with WaveArm, but this time the attack sailed under the defense and nailed the virus. Ouch. That couldn't be said, however for the PulseBulb, as it simply floated and took the full brunt of the attack without so much as a scratch...geez.

With that, Trent focused on the FighterPlane, and tried to climb aboard...but the skies were none too friendly, and it proved to fast for the Navi to grab on that occasion. The IronShield elected to try its hand at barraging him again, but one bomb fell short, and the other proved useless as anything other than something for the knife wielder to mock it about later.

The PulseBulb, meanwhile, began floating over towards Trent, for no apparent reason other than to menace him at closer range...

A look of sever anger crossed the face of the warrior. How could all of those bullets and those attacks not manage to delete a single one of the enemies in the front. Not only that, but the pulsebat was fully unharmed. Trent started to lose his focus, a rage started to over take him. A sheer anger at the viruses, and an utter desire for their deletion, as he could feel his resources winding down quickly in their effectiveness. His shadows became less graphic, less comic in style, and he withdrew a knife from its leather holster. He gripped it in forwards grip, ready to attack when Mark's voice rang out.

"Trent behind you!" Without lightning fast reflexes Mark slotted in the moonblade chip. "Use this, you need to delete something!" Mark paned his holo image to see the view of the battlefield while Trent delt with the enemy directly behind him. "There has to be something else we can do here," Mark thought outloud while viewing the field. Then his eyes met the Totem, Bingo.

Trent turned his head, his eyes catching sight of the virus behind him. He wasted no time in activating the chip, which imbued his current knife with the attack properties of the moonblade. Trent threw his arm out in a wide arc, using the force from his action to power his spin, as hie blade searched, in its fun spinning ways, for the melody behind him. Trent spun as much and as he could, trying to delete the melody outright.

"Trent, shoot the totem." Mark said plainly. Trent's eyes flicked over to it, seeing exactly why Mark said such a thing. The totem was currently useless to him, seeing as it was far from the ironshield and everything else was near him, trying to attack. Trent grabbed his pistol from the holster and tightened his hand around the steel of the grip, using his other hand to steady his aim. The iron sights and green dots locked unto the target, as a sharp piercing like bullet carrying the properties of hi buster speed forwards. Trent looked back to the enemies near him, and he dodged and rolled away as quickly as possible from the group. As he stood up, a wave of blue light from the totem washed over him.

Trent was running out of options, his knives were going to be his best friends in a few more tactical assaults, seeing as they were close to the only thing he had left to use. He loved the thought of this, but those pesky flying viruses would prove to be a major pain in the ass for the grounded warrior. "Mark, send over something weak just for me to take down the ironshield with." Mark slotted in a cannon. Perfect. Trent, never having re-holstered his pistol, uploaded the data from the cannon into it. The pistol became a .44 magnum gun, with an extra long barrel. He aimed the hand cannon as the virus on the other side of the arena, and squeezed the trigger, sending a powerful shot over towards it, the recoil from which causing Trent to step backwards to keep his balance.

"What are you going to do now, Trent?" Mark asked, sorting through the remaining chips that they had. There was nothing they had to down the shields of the pulsebat. Timing and patience would be the only way to destroy the pesky virus. Trent knew this. He pulled out his knives and lowered his massive body closer to the ground. Each knife was being held in reverse grip, and he was using the finger ring knife and the knuckle duster grip. His eyes narrowed as he focused on the task at hand, on the sheer power of his blades and the deletion of the plane virus. A lust of the close combat, and a loss for the reality that such would be difficult to do on a flying virus, over took Trent.

Boots clomping on the round, the massive form of Trent being carried forwards like a freight train, as he rushed towards the bottom of the plane once more. Once he got close enough, he lept into the air, knives held up by his head, as he tried to stab him weapons into the side of the plane, to get a latch onto it. Trying to pull his weight up onto the plane again. Mark smiled as he determined nature.

Deciding that it didn't want to just sit around near something that could easily delete it, the Melody prepared itself to hop away...but Trent's MoonBlade was much too quick, spinning with a knife nearly too quickly to even be seen, and giving the musical note a permanent hair cut. He then shot his own object, allowing it to induce something other than violence.

Feeling good about himself, the Navi prepared a Cannon blast on the largest virus, but it simply turned over and let its shield take the brunt of the attack. He then made himself angry for added attack and speed, then tried to leap up on top of the plane. This time he succeeded, balancing himself on the wings. The tiny pilot in its cockpit was not pleased, as it shook a fist at Trent in anger, and started to swerve the vehicle around, trying to shake the unwanted passenger off. Unfortunately, this tactic worked, as the knife wielder ended up flat on the ground, though at least not worse for wear.

However, this gave the PulseBulb the chance it had waited for, as it sped up to the Navi, and opened itself, revealing some kind of sonar device. It beamed powerful sound waves down at him, but a speedy roll to the side prevented it from causing any pain or anything at him. Too bad it closed up just as quickly. And just to make sure things kept up the pace, the calm Totem face struck its summoner with a burst of healing energy, undoing the effects of the various bullets that hit him before.

Mark looked over the scene. It didn't look good that Trent would be able to grab on to the plane and hold on long enough to deliver the attacks needed. Even if he could delete the plane, he would have to find a way to by pass the defenses of the pulsebulb, which is couldn't do. He simply had to take the hits from the virus and then hit through the damage. Mark didn't like the thought of this at all. Seeing that Trent had his battle wrath up, Mark decided to send him a new chip to use during Attacking the plane.

"Focus on the plane, that's who we need to drop first. The virus on the other side of the arena will fall to poison quickly enough."

Mark's words went in one ear and out the other for Trent. Luckily he was already focused on the plane. Anger pulsed through his veins as he gripped the knife hilts tighter and tighter. The plane had avoided his grip twice, once entirely, and the other he managed to shake him off of the wings. Trent activated the elecknife that Mark had slotted in, an assigned it to his left blade. Trent started moving, he sight not seeing anything but the plane. Everything else was a blur as the warrior started charging.

Trent, once again, tried his old strategy of jumping up and grabbing the plane from the underside of the plane. This time however he didn't try to pull himself up, but merely drew back his knife hand and tried to directly stab the underside of the plane with his weapon. Trent aimed the shot to be under the wing, where he knew some important wires and connections were for the plane. If the knife went in and he would dragged it along the length of the wing to disconnect as many of those wires as he could.

Trent wasted no time in his next attacks, knowing if he didn't attack quickly then he wouldn't be able to, due to the plane shaking him off or him falling. He drove the elecknife hand straight towards the underside of the plane, using his rage and anger towards his highly elusive viruses to send it in deeper. He was trying to cut more of the wires while also delivering the electric charge to the plane. Trent dropped himself from the plane, falling to the ground and landing on his feet.

Summary
*Tactical Movement to Jump to the underside of the plane and grab on
1) Spinal Cut to the Wing of the fighterplane (60 + Slashing + Stun)
2) ElecKnife to Fighterplane (80 + Slashing + Elec)
*+ 20 Strengthen
*Free Action: Swordplay: Dodge (Falling from the plane)
*TURN SPLICE
Once again, Trent tried to grab on the FighterPlane...and once again, the virus managed to evade him, though it did make it impossible for it to pepper him full of machine gun fire. This didn't stop him from trying to disassemble the plane, however, and his skill with blades ensured that he wouldn't have to try to climb on it again, as it burst apart into tiny pieces.

The IronShield elected to take another crack at hitting the Navi with a mini-barrage of bombs. The Navi tried to roll out of the way, but one of them landed right on his head (10). But that would be the last thing the virus would ever experience, as the poison whittled its HP down to zero, inducing its complete destruction.

Now all that was left was that PulseBulb, who was making its way over towards the knife wielder. What to do, what to do...

Trent turned on his hell, looking at the looming pulsebulb. He knew what it is he'd have to do to make the deletion of that virus ensured. He couldn't break through the defenses. He had no way to hurt it until it was vulnerable. Rolling his shoulders and straightening his back as he took a small step backwards, shifting his right knife to saber and his left to forward grip while he ominous virus floated over. Mrk knew exactly what the plan was, knowing also it was the only way. Mark looked around him and grabbed a piece of paper from the desk behind him and wrote some notes from this battle on the back.

"Well, Trent, You know what you have to do."

In response Trent tightened his grip on the blades and slid his left foot another slight amount backwards in preparation. 'I have to wait for the perfect time." Trent said. "If I don't aim it right I won't be able to delete this thing. After this, I'll use feel no pain and get right into the opening of the virus time and time again.' The bulb was coming even closer still as Trent lowered his head slightly and locked eyes on the center of the bulb, where the attack was going to be produced.

Without shaking and without fear, Trent faced down the looming bulb until it was right on top of him. He waited. As the viruses got closer, still yet he refused to move, refused to give ground or show a slight hint of fear or worry. Mark looked away from the screen, knowing the numbers from Trent's health were about to be deducted. Trent stared down the throat of the beast while waiting for the virus to open and attack. When he did, Trent would thrust his saber grip knife into the opening, taking the damage and attempting to attack through it, and bringing up a foot to kick himself backwards off its large form. 'Afterwords," He thought, "I'll pull up feel no pain and tell the totem to heal me.'

"I hope this works!" Mark said.

Summary
3) Wait for Bulb to drop defense and attack Trent. Attack through the unavoidable damage with Combat Tactic Disengage: (60 + Slashing + Knockback(Push off and back from the target) + Dodge)
4) Feel No Pain to Self (Time Delay (Top of next turn) + Shadow)
*Free Action: Totem Heal (+50)

And the PulseBulb opened, and executed its electrical pulse straight at the Navi...but, in a show of sheer luck, Trent felt no pain, despite not using the signature move. As it turned out, the virus had misjudged the distance, stopping short, and allowing him to sit back and watch it do its attack. In the instant after the sound waves stops, he ran up and slashed and kicked its innards, finally inflicting a bit of damage on it. He then proceeded to acquire Shadow status, and would do so in just a moment...

In that moment, the Totem healed its summoner once more, but that completely expended its energy, and it imploded into nothingness.

Trent danced away from the pulsebulb after getting the slashes in, keeping steps light and his body fluid. A victorious smirk covered his face as the feel no pain mode kicked in. He could feel the appearance change starting as the adrenaline rushed through his veins, the closeness of victory carrying his mind over to the Feel No Pain state. He flipped the elecknife to a forward grip the arcing lightning jumping from the tip, and flirting its way around the blade.

Trent squared off his new shadowed body towards the pulsebulb as he waited for it to approach him. He loosely flipped the knife in his right hand from one grip to another while he awaited the virus to float towards him once more. A very lax expression was on his face for once, as he taunted the Pulsebulb, still loosely juggling the grip. "I'm waiting for you get open back up you defensive puss. One of us has to take the blows here. I tell you want, I'll be nice and play along." He reinforced his stance by picking each foot up in turn and slamming them back down. "Not moving, making it easy for you"

Mark put his hand on his forehead and said, "Trent he will come over anyways on his own. Although, I agree, he is being a puss here. The best defense.." Mark started to say the expression but didn't finish it.

Trent stood his exact ground and stance, only sliding his right foot back slightly as the puslebulb loomed closer. He kept the taunting up and waited once more, now under the protection of his Feel No Pain status. The status of a true warrior, one determined and ready, knowing what he had to do and doing it. Trent would have taken the hits all the same, seeing as the only way he can possibly manage to fight this is to push through.

Trent's grip on the elecknife slowly tightened as the grip switching on the other blade ceased. He waited again for the virus to open. Requesting a shotgun from Mark was the final thing he did to prepare for the first wave of attacks from the bulb. Once the bulb opened he would dive in, slicing up the inside with the elecknife, sending the current throughout. Once he assault there was one, he would quickly swing the shotgun from his back and fire a shot at point blank on the insides for insurance.

Mark watched the screen this time, knowing Trent wouldn't be hurt, as he waited for the bulb to open before starting his attacks. "Lets finish this and get the next, and last bomb."

Summary
*Feel no Pain: Shadow mode active.

3) Shotgun to Open Bulb (70 + Spread1)

The PulseBulb struck again, causing waves to go through Trent, who was now Shadow-ized, causing him to mock the virus for its futility. However, in an odd display of karma, his ElecKnife slipped in his hand, causing the cutting attack to completely and utterly miss the mark. At least the Shotgun had enough of a grip to end the battle once and for all.
