Band, Two Strong

Running up the ramp, Sly got himself into position with the Quaker, reversing its attack onto itself! A Boomerang thrown to the BigHats from Bard managed to severely damage one of the hatted viruses, with a follow-up fireball deleting one. Then, as Bard made her two decoys, the bombs from below exploded in a flash of light, blinding and stunning Bard and Sly! (10) (10) (10) (10)

Bard and Sly both gripped their hands tightly against their heads as the blast from the bombs went off. Sly took the damage far worse then Bard. To him the flashbang sounded worse than any reverb he had ever heard from a speaker. Sly stumbled around the area of his platform before Falling to his knees to hold her ears tightly. Bard took the noise damage a little better than Sly, being able to still think and function to figure out the best course of action. Leo's face was glued to the monitor as he watched the status of his netnavi change drastically, from some form of a fighting sense to a much more defensive action to be held. He knew Bard wouldn't be able to aim or focus well this turn, and that the quaker had to be held still for the group to be able to shake off the flashbang. Bard had a heavy job ahead of her to make the playing field safe enough for Sly and herself, while blinded by the light.

Let grabbed a cannon chip and slotted it in for Bard. "I'm aware you won't be able to do much this time around, but you have to at least drop the bighat, and try holding down the quaker. Two attacks is all I ask."

Bard felt the data entering her system, and she quickly processed it. She still held her head tightly, and forced the musicians transport to not move so quickly. Her eyes hurt greatly as she lifted the trumpet to her lips, aiming the mouth of the instrument right where the bighat was, to the best of her sight ability. She played through the short song, consisting of quick rises and short beats, and on the final low note of the song the cannon ball fired out towards the bighat virus.

Bard tried forcing her eyes open more to see the quaker better, but could still only make out very little. She kicked the musicians transport into effect to move closer to where she remembered the Quaker to have landed. Down the ramp from where she was, closer to Sly.

In Bard's vision, the shape of the virus soon appeared, and appeared largely, with which sight she hit the break quickly on the Transport. Bard changed her instrument to her trusty guitar, and began to fiddle and pick at the strings. This song was second nature to her, so the casting of the spell shouldn't be as easily effected by the blindness.

Feeling her way around the neck of the instrument caused the string to come to life in the classical format of this attack for Bard. Each one unwound from the guitar neck, and started to recoil and hiss like snakes. She gaining its on life and it's own Identity. The strings launched themselves at the quaker, attempting to wrap their barbed bodies around the virus and dig into the ground to keep it on the platform new time they could gain the offensive.

Hindered by blindness and stunned, Bard attempted to shake off the detrimental effects while her SP remained mostly unable to act. Upon recovering sufficiently, she willed her transport closer to the BigHat and aimed a cannonball shot at it. The attack nearly landed, but ended up missing by about a foot when the virus stumbled out of the way.

Her next attack was more successful. however. The strings of Bard's guitar made straight for the Quaker and held it down on the ground before it could move away. That was good, since the BigHat soon launched another bomb that landed relatively close to Bard. Contending with the bomb would probably be easier without a virus actively trying to smash her.

Bard's vision was still very whited out, but her hearing had returned from the flashbang. Although he vision was improving, she still wouldn't be able to aim straight, and she informed Leo of this. Sly, however, was in far worse shape. His ear were still ringing harshly as he gripped the side of his head to try and ease the pain. Lucky, he had remained on the ground and not gotten up to wonder around to safety. "That's a very good sign," Leo remarked, "In a very real term, those grenades were made to disorient the target and cause them to stand up and be exposed."

"That's very nice, Leo, now back to the matter at hand!" Bard shouted at her operator. No sooner had the sentence finished, did Bard see another bomb land next to her. This time, she wasn't going to make the mistake of letting one of those remain around. "At least it landed near to me," Bard mumbled as she brought the trumpet to her lips. Leo was already in the process of supplying the chip to take out the bomb.

"This should be the final wave of attacks," Leo said, looking over both the vitals of Bard and the vitals of the poor SP Sly. Use this chip to take out the bomb, the range of its spread should be enough to make hitting the damned thing much easier." Leo slotted in the shotgun chip and then started to shift through the pile as Bard started to play the spell.

The song was very upbeat and fast, with many note changes and 8th notes in the song. As the song kept playing, the trumpet began to shift and change into something that resembled a blunderbuss. The mouth became wider, and the overall length of the instrument grew. The keys on top that Bard was using to play were shifting into a flintlock style shotgun, and as the final changes were done, Bard played the last note on the flintlock latch that fired the shotgun towards the small, but dangerous, bomb on the ground. "The spread from that should take care of the bomb," Bard hoped.

Leo, in the mean while, had found the perfect chip to deal with the remaining viruses. It was a chip they hadn't used before, something foreign to the musical warrior. The machine gun chip. "Bard, kick the transport into gear and line yourself up with the last two viruses in a cone. We want to spray these gun, hopefully two bullets will hit and finish these guys off easily." He slotted in the chip then found another item that would be perfect for dealing final blows to all of the enemies. He slotted that in along with the DBL cube. "Lots of wide hitting attacks should, combined, deal through your bad vision right now from the flashbang. Let's hope so eh?"

Bard kicked the musicians transport into action and moved it quickly into a firing lane to line up the held quaker, and the big hat viruses. She couldn't see overly well, but with the next weapon she was going to bring up, she wouldn't have to.

Bard started to summon each of the chips in the order they were given to her. First up, was the machine gun. This song was odd and in an extremely fast time signature for any instrument, minus maybe a drum set. Bard played the fast beat, with many many 16th notes and low booming bass noises, loud and proud. As she did so, her trumpet gained lots of weight, and many mouths. Soon there were four different mouths to the trumpet, and the instrument became to heavy for Bard to hold on her own, to her mouth. She found, however, that as she lowered it, the song finished by itself. She sat the gun down upon the transport, and held tightly to the top mounted grip and reinforced the gun with her legs. She took one last line up through her blurry vision, before pulling the trigger and sending the four mouth spinning, and shooting out 9 shots. She made a point to try and rotate the platform slightly from side to side to further send the bullets in the cone pattern she had attempted to line the viruses up in before her.

She brought up the next chip, the AmatsuHaretsu1 chip. She had used this one before, and as such, the spell was far simpler and the transformation, which was minimal, to her trumpet was prepared for. The song had four different sections, each mirroring the other and having smooth carryins to be played with. As each section was finished, a small colored ball was produced from the mouth of the trumpet, and began to circle around the Bard until the song was finished. The final four notes assigned where the attacks went and she sent two attacks at the bomb on the ground, and one each at the two viruses before her. Bard glanced to Sly, only to see him still gripping his ears in pain, not wanting to move and unable to see.

The final chip was one Bard had used before but barely had much use out of. "I do think that this is the first time this chip as proven to be slightly useful to us," Bard commented to Leo as she prepared to play the song. "It seemed to fit our situation very well, and both of the sides will be helpful in one way or another." Bard nodded as she played the song. The trumpet began to change colors, and split into a red side and a blue side. As the song kept going, each side flashed brightly, and the rotation of which side was lit was changing more and more rapidly. Finally one color stood out over the other, determining which side was used.

1) Shotgun to Flashbomb hoping spread helps with lack of vision. (50 + Spread)
Passive Movement Musicians Transport (Move to a better cone shaped firing lane with the two viruses in sight)
2) Machinegun1 Down the range at Bighat and Quaker (30 damage x 9 shots/D)
3) AmatsuHaretsu1 to Flashbomb, Bighat, and Quaker (10 damage x 4. 2 hits to Bomb, 1 to Quaker and Bighat)
4) DBLbeam1 (Red or Blue. Red- 40 damage to all enemies. Blue- 30 Heal to all Allies)
Playing an upbeat and quick song, Bard's notes shot towards the bomb near her and destroyed it quickly. Moving around a bit more to get a better shot, Bard then played an even faster song, the song that signified the Machinegun battlechip. It was extremely inefficient at hitting most anything, but at least it hit both viruses left on the field twice, and that was what mattered. The fireballs later finished off the BigHat and deleted it. The trumpet was then used to play a rousing song for their victory, which flashed red in all of its brilliance.

Bard's vision cleared to discover the enemies cleared from the field, and Sly standing back to his feet. Sly still kept a hand on the side of his head to block out the ringing, but he could see and grabbed his instrument and walked shamefully over towards Bard. Bard smiled as he walked over, glad to see him still okay after the fight. "Don't be ashamed, you did well. Lets take a break, we will get more practice another day." Sly Nodded as the pair jacked out from the network.
