Chilling in Yoka

Before Yuki exits the spring, the receptionist hands her a small card-- a link to the very place. "Come back any time, Miss. Remember-- The Azure Stream washes away your troubles!" The navi waves at Yuki as she leaves... and then goes back to reading her magazine once Yuki is out of sight.
As Yuki receives the card, she gave another smile and a wave as she left the inn. The data in the card was a link directly to the hot springs. To say the least Yuki was quite happy with the extra present.. "This is actually pretty handy Aoi. It's like a shortcut here. At the least we can heal up in case we get to deep." Aoi nodded as he looked over their funds. It cost a bit, but all in all it was worth it. They were in peak shape, got a new GMO, a link to a rather nice place, and a chip to boot!

As Yuki went back to her normal appearance, she readied herself for her next fight.

What could possibly go wrong?

<<BATTLE FIVE! THE REVENGE OF MURPHY'S LAW!>>

<<AzureSpring.Link GET!>>
Yuki makes her way through the network, passing more geysers, springs, and water in general...

but no viruses.

She goes on for quite a while like this, finding everything except what she's looking for until she eventually comes across a large bamboo thicket with a small entrance on this side. A stream, reflections off of the water painting it a pretty blue color, runs nearby it... one wonders why the 'Azure Stream' inn set up over where they did rather than here...
"Huh... this is weird?" Yuki nodded as she scanned the area around them. "No viruses so far Aoi. All clear." Aoi nodded as he went over the video feed. "Hmmmm... no Larks, no Cloudys, not even a Met. It's kind of quiet." Yuki gave a quite 'mmmhmmm' as she finally came across something she never seen before. A bamboo thicket.

It was rather scenic really. A nice spot for a picnic or even a spa with that spring, and yet... no anything. It just doesn't add up. "Aoi, I am going to head into the thicket. Do you think you can keep an eye out for things?" Aoi nodded, but was a bit concerned considering the request. "Alright, but be careful. We don't know what's in there or who's in there." Yuki shrugged and dragged her foot a bit near the entrance. "That may be, but it's odd for there to be no viruses anywhere nearby. At the least, we can scout the area to try and answer why. Just to be safe, I'll leave some markings so we know where we went and how to get back out in case we get lost. Does that help Aoi?"

Aoi gave a nod and thumbs up as Yuki grinned. "Right. I am going in." With no hesitation and a plan of action, Yuki entered the thicket through the entrance.
Yuki enters the thicket, walking deep inside... the tall, thin bamboo shoots are pressed against each other chaotically, blocking Yuki's view of everything but the path ahead, even blocking out the sun as they criss-cross overhead.

After a time, Yuki eventually reaches a vast clearing.

On this side, near the entrance to the clearing, there is a small stream running through, with a arched bridge, only large enough for a single person to cross or stand upon over it, made of wood.

Further into the clearing is what seems to have once been a small camp; several wooden logs, chopped lengthwise in half, are arranged in a large semi-circle around a small scattering of charred stones; whatever fire pit they once formed is long gone now.

Even further into the clearing, near the back, is a large armor stand with a huge suit of samurai armor hanging upon it. Its' design is similar to the two or three still placed at their seats on the wooden benches, but is completely different to one particular suit of armor standing in a guard's position on the far side of the small wooden bridge-- that one seems to be more western in origin, like something a knight would wear.

As Yuki takes her first step forward, the scattered stones near the center of the clearing spring to life, re-forming a fire pit in the center...

Which blazes to life with blue fire.

Yuki: 170

Terrain: 10% Sea (The small stream near the entrance; it is about knee-deep.), 30% normal (A circular patch of dirt, centered on the campfire-- the grass surrounding it was likely burned away by the heat long ago.), 60% Grass (Everything else)

Yuki notices something that she missed before about the clearing; it is not entirely level. The back half of it, starting from just past the campfire, goes up abruptly about two steps, and gently inclines further from there.
Following the one path into the thicket, Yuki was surprised at the thickness of the bamboo shoots. It was impressive to say the least. Like a temple to nature itself. Though, there was no noise. No activity. It was quiet. But why? Something was wrong.

As she finally managed to get to the end, she was surprised to see what appears to be a clearing. It looked like a old camp. Old stones from long ago that once held a mighty fire, a old bridge crossing a stream, there were even suits of armor there. If this was a less eerie situation, it looked like a memorial to fallen generals. However, all thoughts of it being just that faded when a strange blue flame filled the center pit.

"I've got a bad feeling about this Yuki. I don't think this is a friendly tea ceremony." Yuki remained adamant as she approached the bridge from her side. "W-what?! Are you nuts?! I don't think these guys are going to like you getting comfy at their fire." Yuki still remained calm. It was obvious now. Something was wrong here. Standing at the foot of the bridge staring right in front of the Knight Armor, she talked in a calm and cold voice. "My name is Yuki-Onna.EXE. What is the name of the presence here?"

Aoi sighed as Yuki seemed to be getting into a bad habit. If this... armour answered, fine. If it attacked, he was going to need to download a whole lot of chips.
The Knight armor suddenly flares to life, shifting into a fighting stance. Blue fire seems to fill it as the pit in the center extinguishes, and flames lap at every single crevice or chink in the armor-- almost as if it is filled to overflowing. "I am Aoikaze... all who disturb my rest must relinquish their lives." The knight's voice is harsh, grating, and yet seems to echo in the space, overlapping several times-- the effect makes it seem larger than it really is...

Azure fire pours out of the Knight's hands at his words, eventually settling to form a sword and shield. "Come if you dare!"

As Yuki saw the armor flare to life and suddenly entered a offensive stance, it became clear there would be no way to reason with it. It was intimidating. It's speech, way of talking, it's very presence gave out a powerful killing intent.

But Yuki remained calm. Actually, it was more emotionless than calm. "Very well Aoikaze. If you wish to take my life, I will put you to rest before then. Aoi, Guard1 and Sword." Stunned by the whole threat for a moment, Aoi shook himself sane and downloaded the chip data to Yuki. Sword and Shield versus sword and shield. Compared to Aoikaze's flaming weaponry, they looked rather meek. Still, considering her options this would be the best bet at the moment.

Taking a quick dash right at the burning knight, she raised her shield to block possible sword attacks from the large man and went into a short slide. It didn't take a rocket scientist to see this spirit(?) was powerful by looks, but it was big too. A larger target even. If she can just slash his leg, even knock him off balance, she would be able to get a chance to take care of it before taking any serious damage.

As her goggles flickered with various symbols and numbers looking for any possible sweet spot, she slashed at the guardian with her small blade and hoped to strike true.

The Knight armor drops its' shield as Yuki slides towards it-- it looks for openings around her shield, but finding none, it decides to attempt attack-- the blow, of course, is rebuffed by her shield, but the first attack is not where the Knight armor's assault stops; it strikes out a second time, this time hitting. (20)

Yuki's sword, meanwhile, collides with the Knight's shield; luckily it does not seem to be the sort that reflects attacks, but it doesn't break, either.

The other suits of armor remain still.

"Kuhhhhhh..." Yuki grunted as she stepped back a moment. This guy was no slouch. He used his weapons skillfully and with ease. The fact her sword was blocked so easily was no joke as well. As her blade ringed, she tried to stabilize her sword hand. This guy would be dangerous in a full frontal attack. His Shield alone seemed powerful to block such a heavy blow. She needed another way around it.

Without the guard to block the blade, Yuki took a more fluid stance in her fighting style. She swayed back and forth like the bamboo on the breeze and tried to avoid staying still in her movement. She had to keep her movement moving as to avoid another slash from that burning sword as she readied her own.

Staying still for a split moment, she ran the numbers in her goggles. Calculating the angle, the speed, the direction, as much as she could to try to make this crucial attack work. As the goggles beeped, she quickly lunged at the Knight...

Only for the blade to never touch him.

Instead, she seemed to back away slightly as the snow data seemed to accumulate into a giant fist right above the night. The shield was powerful, but one directional. If she could trick him to focus on the front, he should be unable to react above him and made sure to calculate the trajectory to make it more accurate. Also, if these blue flames are like real flames, snow is going to HURT!

After all, if the front cannot be hit, why not from above?

The knight doesn't fall for Yuki's feint for a second, instead opting to take this chance to lash out at her- only for his blade to leave naught but a thin cut, the power behind it taken as its' wielder is crushed beneath a frozen fist. (10)

The snow does not last long, however-- it is seemingly evaporated from within...

What is left remaining, however, is different than what Yuki expected. The knight himself is still there-- but his armor is not. The ghostly, ethereal double of the knight slides backward along the ground, but not quite touching it-- and then seeps into the leftmost of the two samurai armors. It, too, becomes possessed by the azure fire; the open spots between each piece flare over even more powerfully than they did within the Knight, and the entire samurai seems to be almost covered by an aura of fire.

Its' sword, as well, is also different in that it has not yet pulled one. Rather the armor's right hand rests on a the grip of a katana sheathed on its' left hip, stance ready to draw at a moment's notice.

As the large fist pounded right into the giant knight, Yuki covered her face as shards of metal flew all over. The knight certainly didn't expect getting creamed by a snow fist even though he got a shot in. However, what remained was a reminder that the fat melody hasn't sung quite yet.

As the flaming knight entered the body of the one samurai armor, it occurred to Aoi what they were facing. "Yuki, take a look around. Did the guy drop anything?" Yuki took a quick scan of the area and noticed that he forgot to take the burning shield with him when he entered the samurai armor. "Yeah, there's one shield. Why?" Sure enough, a rage claw appeared on her non-sword hand. "Throw the shield in the stream." Yuki did a small double take from what Aoi proposed.

"The armor is not the bad guy here. It's the flame itself. If it's still there, it will just move to the other armors. If we can extinguish it, we won't have to go through all these armours to get to it. Heck, for all we know, the shield and the main flame are connected. Maybe if we destroy it, we weaken the main flame."

Yuki nodded at the plan, but even then, there was the problem of keeping it still. Even with the sword and rage claw, she wouldn't be able to keep it down for the water to damage it. She needed something long... something pointy.. something... like what the entire "wall" is made of. As she used the rage claw to try and lift and throw the bulky fire shield into the stream, she positioned herself right beside some of the tall bamboo. She needed to lure in the flame warrior close for it to work. If she can jump above or duck below the blade and that it cuts off a few bamboo sticks with the resulting slash. Using one of her clawed digits to do the rather famous "come get some" motion she readied that same hand to assist in grappling and pushing the blade out of the way if he still came after him while her S.N.O.W. goggles glowed luminescent with targeting systems so her arm can block true. Her claw twitched and cracked in anticipation of the inevitable attack.

Yuki throws the small shield into the stream-- where absolutely nothing happens to it. The flames don't even seem to be affected by the water at all.

The Samurai armor, meanwhile, takes a few steps forward, slowly advancing on Yuki... and then abruptly stops.

Yuki's senses prickle just so slightly that she instinctively drops to the floor, straight down on her butt-- while the move is nonchalant and uncoordinated, it appears to have saved her head; an entire row of the bamboo shoots behind her have been cut, horizontally, at the level where her neck was... and have begun to topple towards her.

Yuki quickly scrambles out of the way as they fall, and the Samurai deftly takes four or so steps back, allowing them to fall scant inches from his foot without hitting him.

Yuki went wide eyed as the burning blade seemed to nip a stray hair. The fact that the bamboo behind her was also cut down. Dodging and scrambling away from the falling bamboo, Yuki gulped as she managed to get away from the entire mess. The fire shield was still working though. Why didn't it extinguish? Why didn't it get damaged? Something didn't add up. Aoi was unusually quiet for a moment, and everything seemed dire. Then it hit her.

While she was still in her lower position, she shifted her body and began to execute a roll while making sure to keep the bladed weaponry flat on her body to avoid being cut by her own gear. The blade was dangerous, and it had a wide range. If she stayed in front of him, she would be cut down. However, if she stayed small, kept moving until she managed to get behind him, she could stand a chance in getting him.

As she continued to roll and did her best to get close and avoid his slashes, she quickly brought out her rage claw to try and grab the samurai's leg. The main reason for her to pick up the rage claw was so she could try and touch the flames without burning herself. Just like the shield, this Samurai would also be flying into the water. However, the reason would be very, very different.

The Samurai begins to get up as Yuki considers what to do...

Yuki grins as she finally managed to send the dangerous samurai into the water. As she clutched her side as her side hurt from the slash, she enjoyed the fact the aura vanished. The monster was right where she wanted him and all she needed to do now was keep him there.

"Aoi, can you here me? Can you bring me the zap ring?" Aoi quirked a eye brow as he finally spoke up. "Why do you want that? I don't think electrifying the stream will work." She shook her head and gave a smirk. "Not the stream, his armor. His wet, possibly metallic armor. I am going to fry the bugger inside out." Blinking a bit at the comment, Aoi chuckled and nodded. "Alright then, if you think you can pull it off. ZAP RING! SLOT IN!"

As the ring of metal and electricity materialized in front of her, she quickly grabbed it with her rage claw. Her Goggles locked on to the samurai as he was just getting up. Calculations and targeting procedures running across the screen. With a deft movement, she pulled back her arm as she flung the zap ring right at the soaking metal samurai.

The ring smacks straight into the armor, causing the entire thing to be covered in sparks...

The armor crumbles from the attack, ashen pieces falling into the stream and being carried away by the current. Yuki feels a wave of malice coming from the blue, flaming, ethereal figure as it stares her down... and then lunges at her!

Yuki reflexively attempts to dodge the flaming spectre, but it passes straight through her... and possesses the giant armor that was in the back.

The armor animates far, far faster than the other two, and Yuki feels a wave of force shoot out from it in every direction, like an explosion of power. The surroundings near it seem to waver... the grass is being pushed away from it even. Yuki finds herself being pushed back...

"This... this is bad." Stuttered Aoi as the pair gazed upon this monster. This wasn't just some virus, this was something very strong and very, VERY pissed off. This guy wasn't cocky like he was in the knight armor or silent in the first samurai armor, he is ANGRY. The fact that it's very presence seemed to push away everything close to it just made it more dangerous.

The first order of business seemed to be removing the barrier. Just moving in wouldn't work and he seemed to be designed for power. She had to strike it down at once, but she couldn't leave herself open. Looking at the burning shield, she came up with a plan. "Aoi, in five seconds, can you slot in wide shot?" Aoi nodded, but was confused by the request. Wide shot was a good chip, but why wait 5 seconds.

As Yuki quietly looked over the data and focused, the five seconds quickly passed. "NOW!" Yuki cried as she quickly made a wide arc with her blade that materialized a wave of water before it shot out at the Samurai... right as a Snowman shaped ninja fell from to try and land on it's head. She needed to distract the big guy, make sure if there were any weak spots, and buy herself enough time. Using her rage claw to pick up the burning shield, she faced it right at the obviously pissed Big Bad Samurai. If it could block a sword, maybe it could block her master?

1 & 2: Wideshot and Snowman down Combo(60+5 Aqua + 40 Aqua)(using passive aim for the timing)
3: Pick up Burning Shield with Rage claw to protect against counter attack.
The Big Samurai takes a thundering step forward, ice forming around its' feet as Yuki prepares to attack...

It roars its' anger at her as she fires off the wideshot, hand reaching for a giant katana sheathed at its' waist... and then pauses as the snowman falls from above, remembering its' prior experiences.

Oddly, both attacks stop just short of hitting the giant armor, instead impacting on an invisible barrier and coating it in a thick, icy rime. Yuki quickly snatches up the burning shield from the Stream as it steps off of the small bit of ice it created and lunges for her, the smaller Samurai's grace gone... but its' speed and cutting power maintained.

Yuki manages to hold up the shield as the Big Samurai strikes out at her-- but the shield does not reciprocate, however! It crumbles under the blow, or extinguishes, I should say, given its' materials of construction...

The Big Samurai snarls at Yuki-- and she finds herself knocked backward, away from the thing, as it appears to ready itself for another attack.

Ironically, she falls into the stream, in about the same place where the samurai armor stood before...

Yuki stared wide eyed as the Monster managed to avoid the continuous strike. Two strong attacks fired at the same time couldn't penetrate it. In fact, with the way the ice formed around the impact spots, it was obvious aqua wasn't going to work. The fact with one swing she was sent flying didn't help the matter. The shield breaking with one hit: Even more so. This felt very much like karma.

Still, it was a delicate situation. She needed range, but most of her range attacks would have trouble with the barrier, and there was still one more left. Aoi quietly looked things through Yuki's eyes trying to figure out how to save her... then he saw the patch of ice, the grass, and the cut down bamboo. "Yuki, can you do a quick defrost?" Yuki nodded as she slowly managed to get up. "Yeah, I think so. But I don't think pushing him back would help." Aoi shook his head and grinned. "I don't want him pushed back, I want the ground beneath is feet reset to normal. He seems to get power from the ground he is on. That's why the ice form. We remove the elements, we remove that. Once that's done, follow my instructions."

As the ski lift rotated inside Yuki's head, she realized what Aoi wanted. Taking a deep breath, Yuki focused the data inside of her for a moment as the improvised defense program began to power up. Closing her eyes, she focused on the base programs for restoring a area to normal standards. As the energy built up to it's peak, Yuki aimed the blast of data restructuring energy low and more to the ground. Knocking back the giant seemed impossible, but maybe tripping it up was at least worth it.

As the nova radiated off of Yuki in a wave of light, Aoi quickly began giving her directions. "Remember the grass patch and bamboo that got cut down? I want you to make a spear with your sword. Think you can do it?" Yuki gave a nod and quickly rushed to the fallen bamboo. Dragging her claw near the ground, she snatched up the longer, thicker blades of grass and picked up the longest bamboo pole that was chopped down. Cutting a slit in one end of the pole with a rage pinky, she ejected the sword from her arm and placed it firmly in the slit before wrapping it up tightly with the grass so it could hold in place. Sure enough, her Sword Spear was complete.

Holding the rather long spear in both hands, she wondered why Aoi made her create this. "The guy has both height and reach over us, but he has no agility and became a much larger target. If we can pierce the barrier and pin his arm, we can stop him from attacking us and finish him off." Yuki nodded as she turned on the goggle's targeting system as she pointed the spear forward. Ready to strike.

"Do you think this will work?" Aoi shrugged and grinned. "We have nothing to gain or lose by not trying, so why not?" Yuki gave a grin and a slight chuckle. Giving up just because she was beaten down a few times wouldn't be the right thing to do. One way or another, they were BOTH going to survive. As she lunged forward with her spear aimed at the Big Samurai's sword wielding arm and gave a cold smile at the samurai.

"Having fun?"
