Network Revival

OoC
Sorry it's short, but I'm really busy with last-minute work, and I still want to be active so when I can battle properly, the boring stuff is already done.

It was almost like the Melody was cheekily kicking him in the ass, a subtle message to clear off. Of course, our hero wasn't even considering escape; instead, he was communicating his next move to his operator. Cannon next, he requested.

Cannon coming up, Steve replied, scanning his folder for the chip. After you take your shot, try opening one of those packages, he added, pushing the chip into the reader.

The Cannon was once again introduced to his system. Recon wondered about the actual data his body was processing; was there a limit to how many times a battlechip could be used before it was rendered unusable? If so, he'd probably discover it at the worst possible moment. The shapeshifting was complete, and the shell inside was packed, charged, and ready to hurt something. The visor began tracking its target, and, predicting Recon's next move, locked its aim onto the closest Melody once again. That should eliminate the bouncer, it replied, watching with approval as the cannoned arm released one large firey lump of damage out the tube and straight towards the Melody.

With the Melodys most likely coming at him for another bounce, he did the only thing he could think of that would put them off their game: he ran straight at them. As he did so, he pulled a small pack off his belt as instructed, and marvelled as it began to glow. What happened next was slightly unnerving; it flew out of his hand, stuck itself to his chest, and slowly dissolved into his system. As it dissipated, he felt some of the damage sustained by the Melody nullify and repair itself. That's going to be handy, he chirped as he moved his way into the pack.

Recon grunted as he picked off one Melody without a sweat. He healed himself while the others bounced around, and managed to avoid one squashing him overhead.

Recon was getting the edge over his adversaries, and couldn't be more happier. Zapring next, he informed his partner.

In the real world, Steve was almost over his wave of depression, getting into the moment just as much as his navi. Zapring, downloading, he replied as the relevant chip entered into the PET. Only two to go, keep it up,

The transmutation began, with Recon's fingers merging together to become two seperate pylons. What had his attention though was the tone of his operator. Did he just offer some encouragement? After being so solemn? His teammate was a weird one, he decided as the coil appeared at the bottom, connecting both pylons together and began absorbing electricity that the pylons were generating.

Taking aim at the damaged Melody, the aide alerted, tracking it across the field and beginning a narrow-down to the correct placement. As it found its mark, Recon pulled his weaponized arm into the air, level with the directed aim. The static stored in the pylons was entireley pushed to the coil, and the subsequent charge was dissipated into a solid yellow ring. Recon activated the mental trigger which ionised the attack into negative energy and therefore thrust it away from the positive holder. It flew with a purpose as it headed towards the injured note.

We're running low on shot attacks, Recon realised, confirming this by saying it out loud. What do you want to do? he asked.

Steve was already prepared for this eventuation, and had the right chip in his hand. You'll have to get personal with the last Melody, he replied, activating the Sword's signature by entering it into the chip reader. It's not as accurate, but if you can successfully hit it, it'll go down in one shot.

With the introduction of the new battlechip data, it utilised the already-present pylons and coil by merging them together into one pole of cybersteel and then flattening it to make a blade. Once the edges had been levelled and sharpened, the Sword was complete.

Well that's all well and good, but how am I going to get it close to me? he wondered. It didn't take him long to realise that the Melody would come to him to attack, anyway. With the Sword raised behind his back, he called out to the last Melody, in an effort to bring it forward. Hey virus! Unless you attack me now while I'm out of guns, you're going to end up deleted like all your friends! he yelled. While he was pretty sure such an act wasn't doing to do anything, he decided to go for it anyway. Jumping forward, he thrust the Sword in a downwards motion to where the Melody would hopefully be.

Bump?
The Zapring fired off by Recon shook the wounded Melody to the core, instantly deleting the virus into an electrical oblivion. The last remaining virus was feeling desperate, but the navi's small taunt wasn't helping. It began to hop towards Recon at full speed, exceeding the navi's expectation as it literally tackled head on (-20). However, due to its irrational action, the poor Melody met with the cold steel of the sword and met an untimely end.

575z
Achieving his goal by total deletion of his enemies, Recon sat down for a minute to catch his breath and take in the surrounding area, as well as the Zenny that had been scattered.

It didn't take long before Steve began to get impatient. Well? Are you just going to sit there all day? he perplexed.

As much as he didn't like his operator's tone, he was right: he'd asked for a long bust, so no point in stopping now. He picked himself up off the ground and continued walking further into the net.

Recon didn't have to go far before he would have been able to hear noises. Noises that sounded high-pitched and far off.

Not just far off, but far above, apparently. The voices soon made their source clear, as the viruses making them flew into view.

That's right, flew.

Recon found himself up against a swarm of viruses, built entirely of flying ones. In a V-Formation, no less, with the Bats in front and the Birds at the rear edges.

To make things worse, there were panels missing from the far end of the battlefield, where the viruses had appeared. The splotchy nature of the foundation upon which Recon would have to walk, should he venture to that end of the field, made things even worse for him.

Darn birds.
