One of the oldest and longest standing rules that still exists here from our CN days is one regarding new moderators. Simply put, the rule was, "If you ask to be a moderator, you'll never become one." Instead, we go through a nomination process in the Mod-Cave, vote, then PM the person if they are interested.
Well, this is about to change.
In light of some of the moderator issues we've been having here, we have decided bring one of these last few ancient mandates toppling down.
Now, any interested party may APPLY for modship.
The application will still go through similar discussions in the cave, but now we won't have any problems worrying about if the person is interested or not.
There will only be short periods in which we will be accepting applications, but since I'm announcing this, we are, of course, doing so right now.
Anyone interested should check out the Mod Tryout/Training area, and read the Tryout rules.
I'm hoping that we'll get some good Battle Mods from this, and I look forward to working with some fresh blood.
Also, if you want someone to blame for the way the tryouts work, blame Twi.
