Before I begin, I would like to pose a question: What would you do with exactly $611 and three cents? That exact amount. A bit of an odd number, yes, but odd numbers happen sometimes. They revolve around us constantly, seconds and minutes and hours each cycling individually, and yet we never notice their passage except in retrospect.
This amount of money is much the same way; if I had $611.03 today, I'm not sure what I might do with it. I might build a new computer, or buy a bunch of games, or finally replace my single remaining speaker with an actual working pair. I might use it to help with my schooling, or to ease the bills around the house a bit. With that kind of money, if you think about it long enough you can find uses for it.
As for what I chose? I chose six years of laughter, tears, drama, history, interaction, fun, and friendship.
Roughly six years ago, on December 31st, 2006, I paid a buck ninety-five ($1.95) for the Chat's first month. For 39 months after that, I paid $6.95 every month, like clockwork. Pennies on the dollar, to me anyway.
After that we started hitting concurrence limits at peak days; while we haven't exactly had that many users on for a while, it was a problem. Friends couldn't get in to talk, we pondered kicking people who were AFK for too long, or running a second chatroom, or any number of other solutions. Instead, I paid a little more to bump the concurrency limit up to an unlimited number: $9.95 a month.
For the past 34 months, I've paid that $9.95. Over the last 72 months, that adds up to exactly $611.03. And let me tell you...
That's a cheap price for what I got in return.
Here's to six more years of friendship!

I appreciate your friendship and the chat you've paid for us to meddle around in Twi.
My favorite moment is when you banned everyone for your Televised Game Show Host NetNavi gig.
I don't know if I'll be around six more years since around my next few years to come, I plan to try to move on and be serious about my family. But it's been nice knowing you so far.
