Netbattles and Chill

Courser turned from the open cages as the chime sounded and began to walk towards the now open doorway, his footsteps treading light across the surface of the water until he could step up and onto the solid lip of land at the edge. Beside him, his clone reformed from the shadows, walking with an equally unconcerned swagger. A few steps into this strut, a heavy thud of sound and force rocked the chamber as the water exploded upwards, driven by his exploding mine beneath the surface.

Courser didn't glance back, but in amongst the spray and falling debris, his needle turret spun in place and shot additional rounds of flechettes at anything that survived the explosion. The angry sounds of the bear in particular causes the navi to raise one casual finger and gesture with it to one side. Near to the bear, a final wall of icy water rose up from the pool and crashed down again, seeking to drench the creature and freeze it solid as Courser stepped through the doorway in search of both the navis he had to ensure the safety of, and ultimately, his new quarry; the doctor responsible for the experiments.

With an explosion of great power, water displaced as the explosive itself brought ruin to the new viruses, sending the Null back to hell from whence it came, and grievously wounding the other two viruses that were there. Roaring out as it created a cube of fresh ice almost immediately after in retaliation...and found out it was the right move as Courser's Needler immediately sending out flechettes and nailing the cube twice, crumbling it to icey dust and nicking the Shrimpy before it could move out of the way, deleting it with little effort. And with a final hearty farewell, sent a spike of ice through the Bear's body, deleting it on the spot as he walked away from the fight, reaping the rewards wholeheartedly as his PET picked it all up

-- Viruses --
TyphoonTyphoon (Typhoon)

This family is an upgrade to the viruses found in MMBN. Unlike their game version counterparts, these roll around on four wheels. They are thus able to move and dodge. All of their attacks have the Wind Type attribute, and thus deal extra damage and other added effects when used on Sand and Snow terrain. The viruses themselves are not able to summon this terrain, however. Their secondary attack is mainly used to counter Object chips or creatures that are closing in to attack them.

BasherBasher (Basher)

Basher viruses are the top-tier of the stationary gunnery viruses with an unmatched single-shot damage output among the normal viruses. They are also the rarest of their class, and appear only after battle 5. They also never appear in large numbers in a normal battle, meaning the ratio of total viruses to Bashers should be at least 4 to 1. The attack cycle of Bashers is 2 actions long, regardless of which attack they use. The first attack requires one action to charge before firing, and the second attack executes twice in succession. If they are stunned, they resume their attack cycle where it was halted once the stun wears off. They don't move, and don't dodge.

Area: Sharo

HP: 120
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 60 Fire + Break + Panel Break x3 Targets, 1 Action Charge
Primary Attack Accuracy: A
Primary Attack Description: The virus selects up to 3 targets, and spends an action charging up the main cannons. It then fires a Magnum blast that reduces most Network constructs to ashes with a single shot, usually leaving a blast crater where they once stood. It may target empty panels and objects as well as enemies.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: 10 Fire x3 Targets + Double Attack
Secondary Attack Accuracy: A
Secondary Attack Description: Fires a 3-shot spread from the left arm cannon, then follows up with an identical attack from the right arm cannon just after. Each cannon shot requires an action, and both attacks must occur one after the other.
Element: Fire

ShadowShadow (Shadow)

Shadows do not dodge, and they only move by teleporting before and after attacking an enemy. Shadows have permanent Shadow, except in their bladed weapon forms. Teleporting before and after their attacks does not require an action. Shadow viruses assume the form of bladed weapons when they attack. Shadows attack a single target only each turn, and will attack that target as many times as they have actions. They will only abort their attack if the target is defeated before the turn ends, at which time they will teleport back to their staring position and float there passively until the next turn. The range and reach of their attacks depends upon the type of weapon they become when attacking, and the accuracy of their attack depends on where they attack from. Attacks from in front of the target are C-Rank, sides are B-Rank, and back-attacks are A-Rank.

Area: Sharo, Hades Isle, NetVegas

HP: 80
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 15 Null + Variable Range Attack + Slashing

DharmaDharma (Dharma)

Dharma move and dodge at average speed. Their puck attacks rebound off of the edges of the battlefield as if there were an invisible wall there. They can rebound up to 3 times before finally passing off of the field or dissipating into thin air. The pucks pass through anything they hit except boundary walls, terrain, and friendly viruses. The pucks can not damage other Dharmas. This virus cannot attack while moving.

Null EXNull EX (Null&Void)

Null&Void viruses are extremely dangerous top tier viruses. No player should encounter one until at least battle 6. Null&Void viruses move and dodge at an average rate by walking normally, but they also teleport before and after executing their melee attack. They regenerate half of their HP every action and their vortexes have the ability to instantly destroy objects and EJO or delete victims instantly with Gravity Crush. Their strategy revolves entirely around forcing an enemy into a vortex, and their attack choices will always be something that furthers that goal if possible. If not, they will settle for using objects and the terrain to damage or hinder the enemy. They are intelligent enough to use their abilities to cause a great deal more havoc than the average virus.

HP: 130
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: Set 2x Panel Trap: (20 Aqua + Gravity Crush 50 + Object Erasure)
Primary Attack Accuracy: E
Primary Attack Description: Automatically creates two whirlpools on the field. Each whirlpool takes up one panel, and remains there until either something moves into it or until the end of the turn, whichever comes first. This attack may only be executed once per turn at the beginning of every turn, and does not require an action on the part of the virus. Whirlpools never appear over Missing Terrain and cannot be summoned on Broken Terrain. Terrain changes have no effect on whirlpools, at all, as they have been known to float in mid air over even Broken Panels once they have been summoned.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: (Teleport) then (20 Aqua + Impact + Knockback)
Secondary Attack Accuracy: B
Secondary Attack Description: Teleports next to an enemy or object, and pushes them suddenly. If it is an enemy, they will try to push them into the nearest Whirlpool, or at least towards it. Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Aqua + Piercing + Altitude Change
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: D
Tertiary Attack Description: Generates a gravity ball and throws it in a straight line. The gravity ball travels slowly, but will pass through anything that stands in its path. It also forces enemies in High Altitude and Burrowed/Submerged enemies to ground level, regardless of their position on the field.

WaterDragon EXWaterDragon EX (WaterDragon)

This high tier virus is only encountered after battle 5. A PotDragon's pot is stationary during battle, as it remains above the panel the virus appeared on until battle is over or the virus is deleted, and will not fall even if the panel below it should be destroyed. PotDragons have two main attacks, each geared towards either ground or aerial targets. When executed, the pot tilts or falls over, and the dragon charges at the enemy before looping back and returning to the pot. When threatened, they will duck into the pot, which is both indestructible and capable of shielding them from all damage and effects except those that manage to fly into the mouth of the pot. Even Beam Attacks and Blast damage won't leave a mark.

ColdBearColdBear (ColdBear)

This virus is only encountered after battle 5. ColdBears have one free Movement per turn, but their evasion rate is 10% below normal. The IceCubes a ColdBear generates are objects with AquaBody, which the virus can use as cover or as a weapon. In the latter case, it is possible for the attacks of the player to damage or destroy the IceCube before it hits the player, which will reduce damage or even eliminate the attack as a threat to the player. The flip side is, the IceCubes do intercept incoming head-on attacks even when they are sliding along the ground or flying through the air. ColdBears prefer to maintain a comfortable distance from their enemy, but are not above attempting to summon IceCubes in the same space as an enemy if they find themselves in melee range.

Area: Sharo

HP: 200
Primary Attack Stage 1 Damage/Effect: Summon 50 HP Aqua Element Object with AquaBody
Primary Attack Stage 1 Accuracy: S (B vs Players)
Primary Attack Stage 1 Description: Creates a 50 HP block of solid ice directly in front of the ColdBear that is completely immune to Aqua Element attacks, but weak to Elec. The virus may opt to use it as cover, or launch it at the enemy. If an enemy or object occupies the panel directly ahead of the ColdBear when it summons an IceCube, the IceCube is destroyed, and 50 Aqua Damage is dealt to the target.
Primary Attack Stage 2 Damage/Effect: Up to 50 Aqua + Break
Primary Attack Stage 2 Accuracy: C
Primary Attack Stage 2 Description: Launches an IceCube at the enemy as a Free Action. This can be performed at any time the ColdBear has an IceCube before it. If the cube connects, it deals Aqua Break damage equal to its current HP, and is destroyed. If not, it remains on the field. It can even fire them into the sky.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: 10 Aqua + Line Attack + Ground Attack + Object Absorption
Secondary Attack Accuracy: C
Secondary Attack Description: Launches a giant snowball that absorbs objects in its path, adding to the damage it can deal with every object it picks up. Adds half of the HP of all absorbed objects to damage.

Going through the exit as the bars immediately closed behind him to prevent other viruses from getting into the area, a large staircase stretched up above him and slowly curved upwards along the way and continued up until he finally made it to a small room, the same one that Hevari had overlooked, a clear glass pane that had quite the masterworking on it despite everything. The room was fairly sparse, a couple tables with some mechanical items, as well as flasks full of a glitchy viscous looking liquid within. A book no bigger than Courser's head laid upon a second table that had various scrawl, nicks and cuts all across it's surface. Between the mechanical items on the table, the flasks and the book, there was but a single door leading into a wide area, a trio of Normal Navis in verious states of disrepair bound in the middle of the area...she at least said she freed them, weather or not they were even conscious right now was up in the air, they weren't exactly moving at this point...
As the grate shut behind him, Courser moved forward more cautiously, footsteps light on the stair until he arrived at the place he'd seen the good doctor before. He glanced back down through the glass observation window while, a few feet from him, a second Courser emerged from the shadows again and stalked forward into the rest of the room. Courser himself turned to follow, though he kept his eyes alert for other entries and exists while his decoy moved past the experimental flasks and odd contraptions to get a closer look at the remaining navis. The clone glanced back with a shake of his head.

“Not looking good. Got any of those recalls for navis that can't travel?” Courser himself was already pulling three of the letter marks from his coat pocket, still keeping his gaze at the rest of the room while his clone assessed the trio. Once he made it tot he centre of the area, his decoy stepped back, turning to pass his gaze around the chamber and keep alert while Courser looked over the three himself, remembering each of their details as near as he could in a quick glance.

“Jen, pass me that restore quickly, if you would...” He murmured, mostly at a whisper. In silence the chip came through; it almost felt like Jenny was holding her breath as well. Courser snapped his finger, spreading a light restoring most across one of the injured navis while he applied the chip data to the next. A moment later he misted the third one as well, seeking to stabilise and rouse them, at least to whatever passable state he could manage. As the mist did what it could, he paused to see if any of them were conscious enough to talk, but if they weren't he was ready to place one of the letters on each of their chests and get them sent home quickly.

As he did this, his secondary clone slipped out around the lab benches opposite him, bending his head to peer at the book and examine the cover. Probably research notes, he guessed. Carefully the clone lifted the cover, flipping it open, though it almost phased through its fingers in the process.
As Courser ran up towards the captives, they were in various states of disrepair, though mostly it was surface-level scarring, a couple had small chunks taken out of their hands or feet, but otherwise they seemed to be newer models of NormalNavi, easily from the last five years at worst estimate. The navis, as their repairs began to take root slowly stirred from their respective slumbers, though they were still bound, Courser could easily remove the bindings since they were around their torsos and around their legs in a couple places.

"OOoooogh...man, last time I take a trip from the city..." One mumbled as it shook off the induced slumber, the other two rousing slowly in turn as they looked around, a large room without a ceiling, cold air whistling through the area as a couple doors within could be noticed, one for each cardinal direction, though they were seemingly labled as "Janitor's Closet" to the north of Courser, "Escape Route" to the east and "Experiment Closet" to the west...though for all Courser knew, Hevari was trying to throw him off her trail and mislabeling these doors, she could have had enough time while he was scrapping down below to deal with the doors in a way she decided. "Ooooogh. Sorry y' had to come save us like this..." Another finally spoke as they roused from their unconscious state, grunting as they began to stretch at the bindings and failing to break them. "Gotta get her back for what happened...just wish we could have managed to fend her off..." The third finally spoke, cricking their neck as they looked upwards at the sky. "Just hope our friends didn't suffer too long...think only one of the "experiments" even remotely succeeded, though...it still wasn't what she exactly wanted." The same navi spoke simply as they let out a sigh.

Meanwhile, as his clone began to look through the book, page after page was scrawled upon in ink. Between inane ramblings from the "good doctor" herself and the scrawl on the pages in various equations, seemed she had been trying to create a way to break boundaries between viruses and navis in one way or another...though from the looks of the words on the pages, it was originally a Techari funded project, things broke down eventually however as they caught wind of her using new recruits in these "Navi-Virus" experiments, most of which ending in failure and Techari pulling the plug completely. Afterwards, a "new investor" stepped forward, setting her up beyond the Normals, even beyond the Rogues and plopped her lab in the Chaos nets of all things. Though she was forced to use a "power limiter" of sorts, if only to make things easier for her to slip by, so even IF Courser took her on right now she'd probably be "takeable", but it was not necessarily her "full power" as she put it bluntly and she herself couldn't remove them until she got down below. As the book gets into more and more recent territories towards the back of the book, Courser's name began to pop up in the last few pages that had things written upon them. Though harsh, she wasn't discounting him or his prowess...
While Courser gave his immediate attention towards properly freeing the injured navis as they roused, the clone on lookout edged towards towards the door marked as the janitor's closet, carefully pushing down the handle so it could peek through, while the one reading Hevari's notes faded away. Courser nodded to the other navigators.

“Alright, I'm going to try and catch her up before she escapes, but you three should clear out. These links will take you somewhere safe, and you can stay there if you want to, but you'll be able to go wherever you need to after that, otherwise. Get yourselves safe for now.” As he made sure that they each had the means to get out, his mind worked quickly. Hevari spoke like she was underestimating him, but her notes showed a more careful perspective underneath... not entirely like his own obvious bravado, covering for the careful and analytical tactics and due measure he gave to each danger he faced. A power limiter would certainly help her hide from any mafia members that didn't like her going off on her own, though it was something to be cautious of; even if she was relatively weaker, that wouldn't reduce her experience or, potentially, her arsenal.

He turned and nodded while his clone inspected the doorway and looked sideways as a second one carefully worked to open the one marked as experiments, fumbling with clone fingers until its mild tangibility managed to work the handle. Courser himself stood back; he briefly contemplated asking the navis if they'd seen her before they left, but they'd been out of it when he arrived, so it wasn't likely. Instead, he took a stance to wait and see what was behind each door, ready to make a move in either direction if it looked promising, or to defend himself it traps or monsters were waiting.

((Ready for Battle 17, or further exploration))
Opening up the "Janitor's Closet" Courser's clone was greeted with a long looking, dimly lit corridor that would take a while to go through, though it seemed to lead outside of the chasm that Courser had found himself in as a cold blast of air hit his clone in the face from within. Though as he gave the navis their links, they quickly managed to escape from the area, seemingly not having more information, but as he opened up the Experiments door, and with it, the frozen carcass of a creature meeting him from within a large glass tube.

Various computers dotted about as they monitored the creature within, though it hard to tell what it was...it was a bipedal creature, one with four legs and each foot rounded out like a Normal Navi's and each foot having a trio of claws affixed to each like a creature of it's sort would have. It's coloring was bright green and a darker shade of white, almost a grey, covered the creature's body from head to toe and with it, his head trailed up to see that it didn't have just -any- head...it was more akin to a centaur than anything, the top half of a Normal Navi affixed where the neck would be, trailing up, there was a pair of large slimy looking tentacles that replaced it's arms, small almost unnoticeable barbs embedded in each before reaching it's head...or what was left of it, half the skull was completely gone with just a single beady red eye that moved about the head despite it's frozen state. And just across the frost, Courser noticed various...gashes...pus ridden wounds that afflicted it's lower half, along with boils that seemed all but ready to burst if not for it's frozen state, each in a different state of fullness and redness and with that, he noticed the "claws" attached to each foot were...in various states of disrepair, some were bloody looking, others still had been chipped or broken, though each claw that had remained whole curved into a scythe-like shape with gleeming points to each wrapped within an onyx colored coating of bone and calcium.

But if he chosen to move away from the Experiments door and open up the "Escape Route" door, instead of the same thing he saw from the Janitor's Closet...it was a wall of fresh blue ice that prevented him from moving forwards instead, with a crudely drawn middle finger etched into the surface of it. So, he could continue to look over the frozen creature within the last door or make his way down the path and continue his search for Hevari, though down stairs the sound of rattling metal bars could be heard and viral screams therein.
With the doors open and the injured navis gone, courser spared a glance for each through his various eyes and darted forward through the long passageway after his main clone. There was a chance that the ice wall was a genuine block, but he doubted it. More likely it was a trick, he thought; an exit point that was seemingly blocked off, that he could spend precious time melting through... only to discover a dead end behind it. The other experiment was beyond his help as well, and there was no point poking that nest while he might still catch up with the good doctor herself.

Ahead of him, his main clone ran in step, then stepped into a gliding forward surf as water picked up under its feet. A short way behind, Courser mirrored the water eddy, keeping his clone at least a good dozen feet ahead and focusing most of his attention through its eyes. If Hevari had any other fun tricks thrown behind her, at least the clone would meet them first and he'd know the best way to avoid them – he wasn't going to lose time over excess caution right now.

((Continuing down tunnel quickly. Ready for battle etc.))
Rushing through the dimly lit hallway, Courser's traversal through it continued on and on, more than a few minutes passing as he made his way through, a second door at the end of the area, and with a quick opening of it, Courser was briefly blinded again by light, natural this time instead of man-made. As he began to readjust his eyes again, cold Sharo winds blowing over him as he stepped out of what he could only assume to be a plateau on the side of the mountain...and with it, a look over at the terrain that stretched below...including what seemed to be a massive sea that stretched out across the area within sight. But more than that, a single blue data crystal could be found twirling about in the middle of an obvious trap, a quartet of open holes diagonally from a small square of normal paneling.

But as Courser began to try and retrieve the data chest, from the skies above a quartet of viruses. An icy blue lamp settling itself right in the middle to the furtherest north of Courser, between two of the missing holes in the ground. A large shrimp with dark aqua and golden coloring dropping towards the west, again between two of the missing holes as ice covered everything but a small portion of the area in the middle...where the other two dropped down, a Basher to the front of the BMD, facing courser, a virus he was already EXTREMELY intimate with, and a massive pile of grey rubble that took up the area behind the cache and towards the left of it. And then came the roar of a hole dragon, as it slithered up out of the ground and had a heavy golden crown atop it's head, ready to tussle with Courser himself. If this was a ploy on Hevari's part or not, that answer was still up in the air, but otherwise, he had a battle on his hands weather he wanted it or not.

Gigas EXGigas EX (Gigas)

The Gigas are a clan of 8 foot tall viruses whose semi-humanoid bodies are made of a durable metal alloy. Gigas lack legs, and instead roll around on a 3 ton solid steel ball 2-feet in diameter that rests in a cupola. Rising from the top of the cupola is an alloy pillar that supports their metal bodies. The Gigas fight with their huge iron fists, which are provided their immese striking power by large barrel-like forearms. Their great-helm-like heads sit directly atop their shoulders with their blocky hinged jaw slanted in a sneer while their neon-red eyes radiate their hatred of all things Navigator. It is speculated that Gigas are a hacked derivative of the Bladia viruses spliced together with fragments of other viruses and a healthy dose of battlechip program data. This would account for their size, strength, and malicious nature. Where and how this was possibly accomplished is unknown. Gigas move at increased speed, but dodge at a slower than average rate. Gigas viruses prefer to pummel the life out of their foes with their bare hands (even though using the ball-and-chain in melee range would be more devastating), but if they find themselves surrounded or at a great distance to their target, they will use the ball-and-chain to perform a HammerToss. If an object blocks their path, they will either send it flying with a GigasArm attack, or smash it to dust before continuing on. Gigas will sink like the lead weights they are in liquid, and they know it. They will avoid liquid terrain entirely, if possible, and will never appear near these types of naturally occuring terrain for this reason. Only a Gigas' body is damageable. Striking a Gigas' cast iron arms will not damage the virus or the arms themselves, no matter what you hit them with. The Gigas' will not intentionally defend themselves with their arms, as they should be too busy pummeling or hurling something to bother. Do not abuse this.

Basher EXBasher EX (Basher)

Basher viruses are the top-tier of the stationary gunnery viruses with an unmatched single-shot damage output among the normal viruses. They are also the rarest of their class, and appear only after battle 5. They also never appear in large numbers in a normal battle, meaning the ratio of total viruses to Bashers should be at least 4 to 1. The attack cycle of Bashers is 2 actions long, regardless of which attack they use. The first attack requires one action to charge before firing, and the second attack executes twice in succession. -- Battle 17 Ready? Start!! --
Leading with his decoy, Courser's own eyes were slightly less dazzled as they emerged into the open Sharo air again, and looked out across the valley and down to the frigid ocean beyond. He scanned for signs of his target's passage as he moved forward, but the only major signs of habitation were straight ahead.

“Courser... She mentioned a cybeast before. Are you sure about this? What if it's just a trap? I know the news reports say that a bunch of navis destroyed most of the active beasts a while back, but there's been reports from other message boards that they didn't stay that way for long. What if she wasn't bluffing?” In his ear, Jenny sounded more than a little concerned, but she still hadn't put her foot down or pulled the plug yet. Perhaps the earlier conversations had swayed her enough to let him see it through. His clone looked around for any evidence as they approached the isolated data crystal, but Courser's eyes were towards the sea beyond; Sharo's beast had once ravaged those frozen waters, and if something of its ilk, reformed or reborn, was blocking Hevari's escape to the lower nets, she might be starting to feel like a caged beast herself. What way would she jump, he wondered.

“Heads up, boss-man. Got some not-so-friendlies here!” Broken from his thoughts, Courser paused for just a moment as the flurry of viral entities appeared to ambush the data crystal's location. He only stopped for a moment, however, then kept on, gliding straight forward while his decoy split off to the right, circling the centre part way and training one extended arm towards the crowned drago. Water built up along its arm, forming the impact-diffusing structure of a large water canon as it readied to fire, while Courser himself let his body merge into the obscuring mists and snows again. Around him, and around the crystal in the centre, a wreath of spray lifted up and circled, covering the more fragile of the two in protective layers while Courser's own protectives were much harder to see through the shadows.

A heat shimmer joined the wavering darkness as he pulled his familiar silver-worked pistol and aimed dead ahead on his approach. The Basher was first, blocking his way, while the next two resounding shots veered out to the sides, targeting the hard-metal virus with too many arms, and the lamp virus.

Without slowing, Courser vaulted the space he'd just shot at, skidding around to a halt and slamming his hand back against the crystal and accessing its data before it could undergo any more risk.

As the Elemperor began to charge up an icy fire at Courser or his clone, the real one began his usual trickery, his processes forcing himself into a state of intangibility for the time being before a chilling flame erupted from it's nose and sent a chill running up the spine of his clone, dissipating it immediately as it failed to attack the actual NAVI that was trying to muck up it's day. Meanwhile the Bluegon was angered at this seeming slight against it's subject and in retaliation sent a blast of icy water at the navi himself, though not without chilling the navi a bit further, seemingly doing no damage to him at all whilst the BMD was given a proper defensive coating for the time being, giving Courser a wider breadth of error despite the virus' best efforts. Roaring out defiantly at him, the Bluegon began to make commands to it's subjects in viral tongue, claws pointing and waving about along the field.

Though despite everything, Courser loaded up his rounds, ready for his next move. The Gigas was up next and using the massive metal fists it had, the virus quickly sent a fist up over the head of Courser and attempted to bury him into the ground...only to instead just crack the paneling beneath him, sending shockwaves reverberating across the field despite it's best efforts as the Shrimpy, annoyed at the navi, took a different approach and sent a bubble flying at the nearest Rockcube, the bubble popping upon impact and spreading foam all over the protected data cache as he took his aim, despite the attack cracking the ice beneath his feet, though it still held his weight regardless. In that moment, Courser could see the Basher begin to charge up it's main cannons, readying itself for an explosive attack, not just on Courser but on the BMD in turn. Whipping out his trusty pistol and loading it's hot and ready ammo into it, Courser let loose his weapon upon the viruses and with it, managing to eliminate the Basher completely, as his second shot veered off course and exploded far beyond the battlefield's length and managing to eliminate the pesky Elemperor on top of that.

even as the Gigas angrily pumped it's arms in a rude gesture at Courser...multiple times at once even, as Courser began to vault his way towards the BMD, the resulting angery shrieks at him in viral tongue as the Bluegon and Shrimpy attempted to eliminate his prize as the Shrimpy made another pass at the Rockcube, it's bubble hitting the rock and spreading over to the BMD, stripping away it's protective barrier entirely as the Bluegon's attempts to destroy Courser's cache failed as it's icy breath had gone extremely wide and without hesitation, he opened up the vaulted item and with it...chip data getting sent to Jenny's PET, ready to be extracted at battle's end, even as the multi-armed monstrosity's Ball and Chain passed through Courser's body in it's entirety, crashing into the area behind him. And then, as things quieted down for a second, the sound of gnashing metal began to perpetuate through the air, the Basher and Elemperor coming back to life a little worse for wear, but still waiting to absolutely destroy the rogue in their midst...not that -he- had any issue with that, he was practically untouchable to them.

Courser nodded to himself as the smaller viruses pulled themselves back together. This game again. In his ear, he heard Jenny grumbling about respawns. From the lingering safety of his shadows, Courser sized up the field. He could play that game for a few more seconds at least. Not far from him, his decoy picked itself up out of the snow, shaking itself off and looking a little roughed up. It skated across the ice at a lazy glide, to stand, hands on hips in front of the Bluegon's hole.

“You know, that were right rude. You ought to keep your minions better behaved.” It leaned forward slightly, despite the virus being much taller and its voice was scolding in tone. “I've a right mind to write a sternly worded letter about this kind of treatment. Clones has got feelings too, you know! Sure it's out job to go and get shot up and beat down, day in and day out, and it's all expected of us and that, but there ain't no call to go about being so callous and rude about it. You got that one over there, hurling all manner of junk at us... and the one back there doing I don't even want to know what with his hands... rude gestures if you ask me! I tell you, this kind of treatment, it won't stand, do you hear me? Are you listening to me, cob? It won't stand!” It appraised the Bluegon up and down as it rambled on in an indignant fashion, and continued to do so loudly until someone had the sense of mind to shut it up.

Meanwhile, Courser was eyeing up he Gigas and doing a quick secondary glance about the field as he mentally measured distances. This should be about right, if he was guessing correctly. Carefully, he crouched down and drew smaller form of darkened water from the ice, back and to one side of the middle section, until it formed into the laser sight of a shaped charge; a low ripple spread through the ground as the blasting charge set itself beneath the beam, with courser aligned to run straight across the centre of the battlefield, and then out to just this side of the many-armed Gigas. He stood straight once it armed, standing mid-field and preventing the trap itself from registering his own presence, for now.

“Right! That's enough yapping, all of you! Pay attention!” His shout was accompanied by one raised hand while his wave whip on that arm bulked up and extended, snaking and twisting as it gained water mass and darkened to a shadowy black that matched the rest of Courser's obscured form. It grew into a large mass that curved over like a weight and gradually took the shape of a somewhat cartoonishly sculpted Courser, made of stone, on a small plinth, with enthusiastic scrip stencilled across it. The letters read 'Boom!'. A moment later, the heavy statuette solidified completely and dropped, with a thud, into the dead centre of the field, interrupting the waiting laser light of the dynamite. The Dynamite beeped. Courser smirked and winked at the Bluegon. “There will be a test.”

A moment later, sound was drowned out by a progressive explosion that ripped up the laser line in a shaped charge, marching towards the Gigas, and was drowned out in turn by an even more vicious detonation that enveloped the majority of the frozen space in a sense-destroying blast wave.

As the fire and smoke cleared and the rumbling sounds echoed away, Courser made a brief mock of dusting off his shadowy clothes and looked around for survivors. He tipped two fingers to the bluegon, and performed a sweeping, mock bow, just as the ground beneath him lifted up, raising the navi onto the top of a familiar needle-launching platform. The water around it cascaded off as it took shape, leaving behind a swirling mist that shrouded its mechanisms. It began to fire, aiming first for any potential survivors of both blasts, and failing that for the dragon itself. Courser stood straight as the platform rotated in place. One more little present for the heavy metal Gigas. He glanced back to the dragon and put one finger to his lips in a conspiratorial 'shh', then flicked out his left wave whip, letting the waters swirl and narrow down until the tip had compressed a tiny, densely rushing sphere that he flicked in a casual lob towards the area that the Gigas occupied. It burst as it landed, spreading a gulf of deep water for the buoyancy-challenged virus to deal with upon its return.

With that done, he jumped down from the needle turret and landed lightly, holding out one wave whip to reform into the broad disc of cycling water that he used to block attacks; the strain of holding himself in the shadows was about reaching its limit and he could feel them falling away; no need to be reckless.

Taking his time to line things up, Courser was making his time to make sure his plan went according to his ideas, as his clone gave a verbal smackdown upon the Bluegon in it's hole. Rolling it's eyes at the incredulous assault on it's kingly being, the Bluegon immediately retaliated with a blast of freezing cold breath, completely eliminating the clone because, at the end of the day, it was literally all it could do in this instance. Meanwhile, the revived Basher began to try, again, to gather energy for the main cannons so it could blast Courser sooner rather than later as the Shrimpy began to make it's move inwards to get a better vantage point to attack Courser now that he had unlocked the BMD. But before the viruses could make another attack on him, he threw out the Dynamite, the explosive just avoiding clipping the massive monster of a virus as it slowly backed away from the explosive, if only to avoid getting caught in it's own blast radius.

The Elemeporer, however, was quite angry at Courseman's actions against it, the flame flickering on it's nose weakly dancing about as it breathed a weak gout at him and aside from a weak hotfoot sensation through the shadow, it did nothing to harm the navi himself. And then everything went to SHIT for the viruses immediately as his Boybomb made it onto the field, his Boybomb triggering the Dynamite's properties and causing a chain of events leading to the Boybomb to explode in glorious fashion, black soot clinging to pretty much everything as everything but the Gigas and Courser died in the resulting explosion, the king Bluegon staring in absolute amazement at what had just happened.

The Gigas was badly damaged, even having attempted to put it's arms up to deflect the blast somewhat and prevent damage, obviously having failed at that as it was missing quite a few pieces of it's body, just barely held together at that point. But before either virus could make heads or tails of what to do next, Courser summoned his trusty Needler and let it go off, one shot barely missing the King, while a second piercing through it's scaly hide and the Gigas finally succumbing to it's wounds as both the Needler's attacks on it finally finished it off. The Bluegon, out of ideas for the time being, began to make it's move, tunneling beneath the field to pop up near where Courser had started this fight at. And with his last actions, one of which being purely vindictive of the Gigas' existence, threw a seed of water, exploding near the Gigas' corpse and with it, transforming a fairly large part of the field into a watery hellscape for Courser to inflict upon the viruses in turn, the entirety of the normal being swallowed up by frigid water and a small portion of the ice being melted in turn as he summoned his shield to protect against attacks. Then the viruses began to rise from their graves, more annoyed than anything...except the Basher and Gigas, no, those two were straight up fucked now. Steam rising up as the Basher hissed in pain, attempting to do ANYTHING to make the pain stop, as the Gigas, realizing it's solid terrain was now a fine liquid, held up a sign saying "Go fuck yourself!" in the direction of Courser before sinking rapidly to the bottom of the pool he had now created, bubbles being the only sign of where it was underneath the waves.

-- Viruses --
Gigas EXGigas EX (Gigas)

Area: Sharo, NAXA

Primary Attack Description: Winds up and smashes the target with a giant iron fist that shatters defenses and sends the victim flying.
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: 15 Null + Break + Spin Attack / 30 Null + Break
Secondary Attack Accuracy: D / C
Secondary Attack Description: Summons a ball-and-chain, swings it around to build up momentum, and lets fly at the chosen target.
Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 40 Null + Break+ Impact + Burial
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: B
Tertiary Attack Description: Smashes the target over the head with an iron hammer-hand strike with enough force to plant them in the ground.
Element: Null
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): GigasArm1 (Rare), HammerToss1, Zenny
Special: SuperArmor: Immunity to Knockback, Microburst, Pull, Gravity, and similar effects.
Special: HardCase: Damage is reduced by half until hit with a Break attack, at which time this effect is nullified and they take standard damage. Break does not deal extra damage.
Special: Burial: Opponents struck by this effect are forcibly buried in soft terrain types (Mud, Sand, Snow) or submerged in liquid terrain types. Otherwise, the panel is cracked. If the panel is fragile, it becomes broken, and the target falls into the hole. This effect doesn't work if the target is standing on Metal Terrain.
: 112 HP (Sea) (About a Feint to the north and to the left, ahead of Courser...before falling into the Sea panels and sinking faster than a rock) (Drowning! -5 HP per action!)
Shrimpy EXShrimpy EX (Shrimpy)

Shrimpy viruses are able to move between attacks as a free action, however dodging still costs them an action. They must pause movement to attack. Shrimpy viruses may move over fragile panel types without damaging them, such as moving over Cracked panels without breaking them. Shrimpy viruses cannot be forcibly submerged or smashed through fragile panels, even if thrown. They can submerge of their own free will, however.

Elemperor EXElemperor EX (Elmperor)

Elemperor viruses are Planeswalker viruses: their attacks and abilities all depend on the terrain they stand upon. Pay attention to the special sections of their stat sheets, as those will tell you what types of terrain must be present for an Elemperor to appear (this terrain requirement naturally overrides the Network's terrain selection). All Elemperor are immune to any adverse terrain effects... except damage multiplication, of course. They attack every action they are able to.

: 84 HP (Cracked) (Between the Bluegon and North-East missings) (Deletes: 2)
Basher EXBasher EX (Basher)

Basher viruses are the top-tier of the stationary gunnery viruses with an unmatched single-shot damage output among the normal viruses. They are also the rarest of their class, and appear only after battle 5. They also never appear in large numbers in a normal battle, meaning the ratio of total viruses to Bashers should be at least 4 to 1. The attack cycle of Bashers is 2 actions long, regardless of which attack they use. The first attack requires one action to charge before firing, and the second attack executes twice in succession. If they are stunned, they resume their attack cycle where it was halted once the stun wears off. They don't move, and don't dodge.

Area: Sharo

HP: 150
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 90 Fire + Break + Panel Break x3 Targets, 1 Action Charge
Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: 20 Fire x3 Targets + Double Attack
Secondary Attack Accuracy: A
Secondary Attack Description: Fires a 3-shot spread from the left arm cannon, then follows up with an identical attack from the right arm cannon just after. Each cannon shot requires an action, and both attacks must occur one after the other.
Element: Fire
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): Magnum1 (Rare), Zenny
Special: Immobile
- Main attack destroys panels, reducing enemy evasion by 1 Rank.
: 90 HP (Sea) (Where it was, but Courser is now behind/in front of it) (Deletes: 2) (Exacts: 1) (Fire Attribute and Sea don't mix! -10 HP per action!)
King Bluegon EXBluegon EX (Bluegon)

Bluegons do not appear before Battle 6. They are extremely territorial among their own kind, so only one HoleDragon can appear per battle. Because they live among holes, they cannot appear without at least 5% Missing terrain.

Area: Sharo

HP: 230
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 50 Aqua + Wide Attack
Primary Attack Accuracy: A
Primary Attack Description: Exhales a wide stream of ice breath.

Secondary Attack Accuracy: C
Secondary Attack Description: Creates a wave of ice water that crashes into an enemy.
Element: Aqua
Possible Rewards (Per Virus): AquaLine (Rare), IceDragon1 (Rare), Zenny
Special: As this virus is always in a hole, it is immune to all Ground attacks.
Special: While this virus will never leave holes, it may still swerve to avoid attacks.
Special: This virus can use an action to duck inside its hole. This counts as a dodge. It may reemerge from that same hole, or a different hole on the battlefield, as a free action afterward.

As his body slipped from the warding shadows at last, Courser steppe dto one side and skated back slightly, holding his ward out to the reforming viruses. Despite the strong-seeming front, he was ready to split away from the first attempt that came his way, but his needle turret was busy making itself a bigger distraction as the navi backed off. It rotated and spun its barrels again, sending a short volley of darts across the field; two sets were directed at the smaller lamp and shrimp viruses, keeping them occupied, while its last pair of rounds shot back at the beleaguered Basher.

Whether he'd been forced to dive aside or not yet, Courser continued to back off to keep as much of the field on the far side of his shield as he could, while nearby a second Courser darted out of his form, making a break for the water at a run. With one wave of his hand, Courser began to spray the field with a storm of smaller densely-pressurised water pellets, while his running clone threw a hand back behind it, adding to the confusion; most of the water bullets were just illusory, but enough of them scattered in amongst the storm were real to throw off any sense of certainty; tracers were aimed primarily at the Basher, Elemperor and Shrimpy, but Courser made sure to carefully account for the water refraction as he sent a couple of the small shots down through the pool towards the Gigas as well, just as his clone made as though to dive into the water for cover.

Between what eyes he had, Courser measured up what remained of his foes for the time being. The needler spun in place mid field, mist and water re-coalescing around it while its motors revved and prepared another round of spines, as Courser his free hand drew back behind him and held low. The wave whip lashed slowly back and forth as a series of high pressure pockets formed in it, spinning themselves into long, thin spines, isolated within the more easy-flowing shape. The Basher was the priority, but if that had been taken care of, he carefully picked out other targets, then threw his hand forward, flexing the coil of water and letting the three longer shards within tear free and arc across the area at his targets. As he watched the needles fly, the veil of mist around him took on a slightly more solid sheen; he rolled his shoulders, preparing to duck back into shadows again, but even so, anything that guessed right and managed to aim well would be met with a very swift retribution.

Getting himself ready for attacks directed against him, Courser's Needler began to fire off at the trio of the Shrimpy, Basher and Elemperor, two shots managing to land on the Elemperor and cracking it's body greatly from the two shots, as one each hit his other targets, be it either moving away from it or a bad shot. The viruses began to attack in kind as the Gigas attempted to escape it's watery grave, smashing it's fists on the bottom of the pool to escape...but between the diffusion of force beneath the waves and it's heavy body it failed spectacularly at that endeavor, only serving to waste it's action for the time being as it's body began to disintegrate and rust up from the water invading it's body as the Shrimpy made a bubble shot at the Navi himself, but the shot went wide, leading to Courser countering as he made sure to give it a good lesson in not attacking navis, a new clone shedding from his form and getting ready to tank as Courser himself shot the Shrimpy twice, both shots hitting and one managing to freeze it in place as ice clung to it's mouth.

Courser proceeded to make his movement against the viruses, he and his Shadows letting out a barrage of shots, the two tracers against the Gigas, Elemperor and Basher managing to make their shots, while one against the Shrimpy managed to miss, but it was still standing as the other hit, the Elemperor shattering to pieces yet again, as the Basher was on death's door afterwards. The Basher was quick to try and make it's last breath a good one, both of it's secondary weapons raised up against Courser, his needler and his clone, extremely quick buckshot was fired off and in turn, one missed it's intended target, the other two managing to hit in turn...unfortunately for the Basher, it's shot hit his clone and popped the barrier on his Needler as a second clone split off from Courser's body...and then it's body finally shutdown again (with credit for an exact delete being tallied for Courser) as it's form crumpled inwards. The Bluegon was -quite- tired of this game and from it's position fired off a blast of pressurized water at Courser's form, the blast quickly hurtling towards his body and smashing through his Needler's Casing, while the blast had trailed onwards, blasting the secondary clone into nothing as Courser's body had managed to evade getting clipped by the angry dragon's pressurized attack, pushing the Needler back a bit beyond Courser...and then it's efforts being COMPLETELY undone as his Barrier and Casing wrapped back around the Needler's form.

Despite it's watery grave, the Gigas made one more attempt at Courser's life from beneath the waves, sending one of it's massive arms down square at his head...or at least that's HOW it tried, but due to it's range between Courser and it, the fist just -barely- eclipsed the waves as more of it's body continued to seize up at the water invading it's form, thrashing about and likely saying mean words at Courser...if sound could travel through water. The Shrimpy was slowly realizing Courser was just...picking them off...one after another...just for the fun of it. Screaming as it's mind comprehended this, it made every conceivable attempt to evade whatever the navi had planned as he began to aim and assess the field, two targets gone and the Shrimpy absolutely losing it's shit, three needles flying through the air as it was quickly skewered by two of them, the third just barely missing from the erratic movements it had been making. But before Courser could bring up his last chip, the Bluegon sent out a second blast of pressurized water streams, the blast of water marching through the field, just missing Courser's body, but the Needler was hit again, leading it to be blasted back with it's barrier being stripped away again. And then Courser's Counter chip began to take effect, the mists swirling around him and ready to protect against attack.

And then the viruses revived again, once more with feeling, they arose from their graves, getting worse and worse for wear as they began to eye Courser with unfittered hatred for the navi...seemed they had the same idea of what was going on, a navi farming the ever reviving pawns of a king virus for bugfragments, typical navi behavior!

While the lesser viruses pulled themselves back together, Courser cast his attention across tot he depths of the pool that he'd left the Gigas to enjoy. Alongside him, wisps of darkness on the ice split apart and reformed his double, who stretched and put his hands behind his head as he stepped to one side.

“Blowin' off steam's all well and good, boss, but you know we shouldn't hang about too long. Should get moving soon.” It looked across the damaged field, eyeing up the remaining viruses while, not far away from them, the needle platform continued to spin in a circle, hailing the revived viruses with more darts, and sparing a couple for the Bluegon itself, just to keep things interesting; it was an oddly detached moment as Courser shrugged in response. He stretched out one hand, letting the wave whip cascade way from it for long enough to expose his hand, and snapped his fingers.

“I know, I know, but really, it's only... what... thirty seconds more? If she's really debating making a break through a cybeast's territory, thirty seconds to stew shouldn't make a difference.” Between them, the ground crackled with a warm glow, before a circle of dark water split the ice and lunged upwards, forming a long tendril that bore a crackling current of electricity in its core. The feeler rose and arced away from them, shedding the watery insulation and bursting towards the pool as a raw bolt of lightning. It plunged down towards the Gigas that was submerged beneath, lighting up the surrounding water.

His decoy shook its head, side-eyeing Courser carefully enough to avoid giving him a headache. Dark shadows had risen to re-envelope Courser himself, leaving his form dark and indistinct against the snow and ice.

“Thirty seconds could mean the difference between catching her first, and having to get past a cybeast yourself, if you still want to get her.” It glanced back towards the central area where soft mist was circling and reforming around the needle platform, working to keep it protected from whatever viral ire its attacks were drawing while the pair watched it work. Courser sighed.

“Yeah, alright, alright... Let's wrap this up then...” He rolled his shoulders then shook his free hand, letting his wave whip uncoil again and swell until it froze and solidified into the familiar, hard-impacting bludgeon of ice. He took a moment to rest his stance, then darted forward, water current carrying him across long strides as he assaulted the pack. His first blow was directed to the Basher virus; even if the Needler had already taken care of it again, he struck out at its remains anyway, seeking to plunge them down into the frigid water and give it an extra chilly surprise upon its next return. Moving quickly, he let momentum carry him in sliding steps as he turned his attention on the other remaining viruses, striking towards one after another and not lingering in any one spot for too long. For now, he spared the Bluegon any extra aggression, and focused on the other viruses. Eah punch had enough stopping power to put most of them down in their damaged states, and there was every possibility that his earlier conversation had become a shouted one, if enemy aggression had pulled him away to deliver a much-needed counter-blow. He didn't want to over-do it on the dragon virus just yet.

Continuing on his rampage against the viruses continuing to fight against him, Courser was quick to zap the Gigas in the pool, though it wouldn't have been enough on it's own, thanks to the conductive nature of water though his bolt of lightning managed to shock it into a pile of slag that would reform there after a few moments. The Bluegon was quick to retaliate by sending a blast of cold towards Courser in turn, though this didn't reach far enough to the Needler, the ice did indeed strike against Courser's body and melt his clone...and in turn, a massive fist of mist ran out of Courser's body to attempt to clock the Dragon, but only whiffing air as the viral dragon had managed to move out of the way before the fist connected. While it was angry at Courser, the Shrimpy spit out a bubble of pure water towards the navi in an attempt to erase him off the net...and only managing to hit his casing in the process, the aftermath hitting nothing in particular as this happened.

And then his Needler shot out, the Basher getting shot twice and crumpling into another heap before it could manage to make a move against him, with the same against the Elemperor as it had died in much the same vein and the icy dragon managed to weave away from one of the shots, but the second striking it between the eyes. And with Courser going ghost again, the remaining viruses let out an audible groan of annoyance, as he clocked the Basher's resting place with his fist, causing the entire area around it's scattered remains to turn to ice, and obviously, keep it out of the way of the water...which would only further fuel Courser's greed for bugfragments as the Shrimpy began to move towards the Elemperor's current remains and the Bluegon, annoyed, scoffed at Courser before heading beneath it's hole and reappearing at it's original area, flipping off Courser in the process, little wonder where the Gigas got it's mannerisms at. And then, rushing forwards towards the Shrimpy, Courser managed to clock it across the face, killing it in a single punch, sending it's would-be corpse right next to it's friend. And without a viable target to attack, since he didn't want to "risk" the Bluegon, all Courser -could- do was wait for the viruses to revive.

A few seconds later, they did. The basher and Elemperor most assuredly on their last legs, hell, the basher and Elemperor were just duct taped and glued back together at this point. As the Shrimpy arose again, a massive icy welt on it's face as it did, the Gigas, of corse, revived at the bottom of a manmade lake and tried to scream at the top of it's lungs, only serving to bubble the lake up just a little bit...with delayed sound of it's baleful roar of anger at the navi himself. The Bluegon, however, let out a sigh of annoyance, flipping off Courser again, with seemingly nothing better to do with it's time at this point.

-- Viruses --
Gigas EXGigas EX (Gigas)

Needler2: 80 HP (Sea) (About half-way between Courser and the Elemperor EX) (Barrier40)(Casing10)
While the viruses pulled themselves together again, Courser didn't slow his rhythm. While he continued to glide in and out of the immediate battlefield, a secondary Courser reformed, closer to the ocean side of the area, arms folded and one foot tapping.

In amongst the real navi's motions, the needle turret paused, reoriented itself, then began firing again, laying down continued suppression on the already debilitated viruses. With any luck, it could deplete most of their final gasps while Courser briefly curved in as mall circle on his water current, and threw out his shield arm; the cycling wall of water flattened further, then collapsed in on itself into a tight disc which Courser's hand flick sent scything down into the water close to the Gigas. A moment later, the tight swirl of water expanded into a spiral vortex of pressure that ought to have the power to keep the many-armed virus quiet a little longer, provided he could catch the thing in the whirlpool's range.

That done, he kicked off again, tapping the Needler as he passed it and sending fresh mists to protect his back-up, before lunging back at the nearest virus. If the Basher had survived the Needler's attention, Courser gave it a fraction of his instead, icy bludgeon driving him forward. Otherwise, with little but wreckage around him, Courser raced instead for the corners of the field, bringing his weapon low and then up in a driving upper that skidded across the ice surface the last few feet and attempted to connect with the dragon's chin. He didn't think he could quite knock the thing out of its hole, but Courser was interested to see just how far up it could stretch without leaving it.

He landed and re-positioned, then lunged in again, seeking to move around his target to a different side each time as he punched repeatedly. His main focus was the dragon now, finally, and he kept with it, crossing the intervening space in short, shadowy dashes if it moved to a new hole. By the second punch, as he twisted his body, Courser had let the ice spread across to his other hand and well, mixing up the strikes until with a last crack, the frozen spikes on his hands shattered away, leaving lashing whips of water again. They stretched out, growing long and thing, then honing down to razor sharp edges of high pressure and Courser Struck once more in quick succession, one hand sweeping wide across if target while the other came up in a bisecting rising slice. He moved past the point, spinning about on his water current and crouching slightly, hands to either side still bearing the watery blades as he made sure of the field and searched for any survivors that still wanted to fight.

Before the viruses could make a move, Courser's needler lashed out and sent them back to the junk heap as two shots each hit, deleting the three targeted viruses with little in the way of stopping the ever so dandy navi's rampage across the field, two were not even remotely going to come back as their corpses finally hit the ground and showed absolutely no more signs of life in them. And then came the Whirlpool as he flicked the disk of water at the many armed monster at the bottom of the navimade lake...but unfortunately, even as the disk expanded and attempted to draw in the Gigas, it went far too wide for him to hit even with it's potential blast radius, the gigas attempting to breathe a sigh of relief but only managing to inhale more water. It then attempted to smash into Courser regardless, it's arms barely cresting the water and clipping his foot, but only serving to go through it and missing entirely.

Courser then went on the offensive against the King, attempting to land a great uppercut to the creature...but just missing as the dragon brought it's chin back JUST enough to avoid it, before attempting to blast him with a great icy breath, only serving to chill him, but his Needler was caught in the blast, stripping away the barrier without a second thought. Three more blows against the dragon all attempted to knock it's existence out, and while one of these icy bludgons missed, the other two hit straight on, causing the dragon to fall back in an icy coffin before finally disappearing, leaving behind it's crown for Courser to probably pillage on his way to Hevari...even if it was a few dozen sizes too big for his head. All the while, a massive cache of bugfrags begin to litter the field and a bunch of zenny on top of it all...plus his prize from the BMD. All the while, the Gigas just begins to strangle and bash it's skull in, all in an attempt to be rid of this mortal coil from Courser just leaving him in the middle of a lake.

-- Viruses --
Gigas EXGigas EX (Gigas)

HP: 140
Primary Attack Damage/Effect: 40 Null + Break + Impact + Microburst

It may target empty panels and objects as well as enemies.

As the dragon fell, Courser glided back and turned about, shaking out both hands and letting the shadows fall away from him again. With a small grin he hooked the crown with one foot and kicked it up to catch and turn over in his hands once, before sending it away with the rest of the battle's spoils. Further off, his decoy was looking out towards the sea.

“You about done there? Come on, time's wasting!” It called back to him as Courser himself gave a last pass over the field and moved to follow. Instinct told him she'd come this way, but where to from here. He approached the ice-shelf, looking for some sign of his target, or her passage. She'd been coming this way at least, and she'd been talking about a cybeast, so if that was blocking her main route for descending, that was the way to look. A second figure split away from him as multiple sets of eyes began searching quickly for signs of the doctor's passage.

“Courser, this new chip looks pretty decent, want me to put it in? It's lightning damage, pretty high numbers, says it comes from the sky rather than you though.” He could her Jenny's voice in its number-crunching tone as she worked out details, and he nodded to himself before answering.

“Sure. Replace the other drop-style one – the golem hit. I'm not happy about how unwieldy it is anyway. I've got enough tools to work around losing the break options for now. How are the funds looking?” He moved to the edge of the ice and scanned, but at least it didn't look like she'd taken any kind of landing craft, or gone straight out to sea, so that was probably positive. Hear heard Jenny make an uncertain noise behind her lips.

“Just shy of the next figure you set out for me before. Only by a hair, but I don't think Suitachi does credit or favours. Oh, well... I mean, I could go now, and just skip the last process update until next time, if you think I should?” He thought about it as he searched, eyes darting over the different parts of scenery as his clones checked along with him. There.

“Hey boss, got something! Looks recent. Hard to tell what, but it's fresh!” From further down the coastal shelf, the shout reached his ears even as he examined the imprints through the decoy's eyes and nodded to himself. There wasn't any time to waste, and he wasn't going to get a second shop run in before catching up, at this rate.

“Go for it, Jan Quickly. I'll get the registrations done while you're away, just be ready to lock it all as soon as we reconnect. Go.” He heard a short affirmative and the scrape of furniture, then felt Jenny's signal go dull again. No time to waste and no sense waiting around. He kicked off and began heading along the coast, towards where the craggy glaciers grew ever rougher and more stark against the ice and the water.

((Giving chase, 1st post without operation))
Rushing forward down the plateau from his last encounter, Courser began to follow two sets of prints in the snow, one obviously humanoid wearing heavy boots, and a second of far larger, pawprint-shaped prints that sank far deeper into the snow than the humanoid's. Regardless of size, he was on the right track, even getting a glimpse of the aquatic Cybeast, Squalo, breaching up from beneath the frigid waters and causing a splash he could practically feel from where he was at, water splashing up a good twenty times his height, if not higher than that, as Squalo let out a roar in the distance.

It would take a good ten or so minutes, but as he left from the side of the plateau he had been upon, water in puddles began to show up, albeit in small areas. But he had been getting closer and closer to Squalo's den, the Cybeast's features becoming more than a blob of blues in the shape of a shark, the massive creature letting out roars, more annoyed than anything positively rage filled or angry as there was little in the way of actual malice behind it. All the while, two figures began to show up more and more, both of them being familiar...Hevari and her Spikey creation, Cerberus. They had yet to take notice of the navi, be it out of the cold worsening the virus' senses or they having not sensed Courser yet...all that changed as a massive red virus launched itself from up on high, smashing the ground in front of Courser. A baleful red eye encased in a red chasis, the creature on a large piston beneath it without any other way of moving, it's immense weight causing both navis and created virus to stumble and lose their balance briefly as Hevari turned to see Courser after looking around the creature's singular piston arm.

YOU AGAIN!? YOU JUST CAN'T LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE! She screeched behind her mask, stomping her foot down like a child, fists clenched around the wooden staff in her hands. You know, you would think that me leaving those navis behind could have been insinuated as a peace offering. As in, you fucked off and went elsewhere. But I suppose you're too stupid to pick up on that sorta thing! She insulted, spitefully spitting at the ground beneath her as her pet growled loudly at Courser. But letting out a sigh, she threw out a trio of capsules into the air, turning around and walking away instead of sticking around. You're lucky I have better things to do than fight you...most important of which, I need off this net. Stupid fucking power limiter, let me take you off! Either way, enjoy twink. She spoke in a snotty tone, before the capsules crashed upon the ground and summoning a trio of viruses near around Courser, as the BigEye launched itself at Courser again, causing him to back away to avoid being crushed beneath it's body. Battle routines started yet again as Hevari and Cerberus continued to get away, though it didn't seem they had a way past Squalo just yet...

Either way, a sun and a moon began to circle around one another from behind the BigEye, likely using it as cover, as another upgraded Basher managed to find a dry spot amidst the water, snow and rocks. The BigEye, however, looked down at Courser as it caused another earthquake upon landing, baleful stares at the navi in front of it as the navi managed to retain his footing just long enough to avoid getting knocked to the ground.

BigEye V2BigEye V2 (BigEye)

A large, red machine, with a single large eye in the middle. Its main form of locomotion is an equally large hydraulic press holding it up. BigEye has a very simple mission statement: jump up, and when you land, make sure there's a Navi between you and the ground. If the Navi isn't cooperating, shake the ground up so it'll work next time. Still, they have a little more variety in their attacks than one would think... This virus much prefers attacking to dodging, but if sufficiently spooked is capable of doing so as well as any other mobile virus. It will also never use its Tertiary Attack more frequently than every two actions. Due to both its size and attack patterns requiring a large amount of open space, it will never appear in a confined space.

Area: All

HP: 380
Element: Null

Primary Attack Damage/Effect: (Movement(High-Alt) + Knockback) Then 40 Null + Break + Panel Crack + Nova 1
Primary Attack Accuracy: C
Primary Attack Description: Leaps quickly into the air, knocking away anything it collides with, before stopping directly above an enemy. It will then immediately crash down. The impact of the fall creates an explosion.

Secondary Attack Damage/Effect: 30 Null + Piercing + Ground Attack + Chain(2) + Earthquake
Secondary Attack Accuracy: B
Secondary Attack Description: Jumps high into the air, then slams its press down onto the ground when it lands, making the ground shake, and forming a shock wave that zeroes in on enemies.

Tertiary Attack Damage/Effect: 50 Null + Break + Impact / 40 Null + Drop Attack
Tertiary Attack Accuracy: B / D
Tertiary Attack Description: Jumps, then lands with such force that it displaces nearby debris, which is sent flying skyward and dropped onto another enemy.

Special: SuperArmor: Immunity to Knockback, Microburst, Pull, Gravity, and similar effects.
Special: AirShoes
Special: The explosion does not trigger if the BigEye attacks a target on Broken/Missing terrain and misses. It will not fall into Broken/Missing terrain with its attacks unless forcefully pushed in.
Special: Earthquake: Whenever this metavirus lands when using its attack, all enemies touching the ground have their evasion reduced by 1 rank until the end of the next turn. This effect does not stack with other Earthquake instances, and does not affect allies of this metavirus.
Special: Chain 2: This attack, upon striking a target, may change directions towards a new target. This may be done up to 2 times in one attack.
Special: The second part of the tertiary attack does not trigger if the metavirus's target is not grounded. It also must hit a different target from the metavirus. For clarity's sake, it may hit nothing if there are no other valid targets.
