Protecting the Forge!

213 took a large gasp for air as she started to fall, not having remembered about the potential of the terrain shifting under her. Her wings spread out in a vain attempt to fly, but the material that composed her wings was still far to heavy. This was something she would have to get fixed one day, seeing as this angel still hadn't earned her wings. Good thing that she had moved before ForgeMan, or else she would be taking a fall. Once she was re-secured to the cliff face, she looked up from under her ally. Sadly, it seemed like there was very little that 213 could do to help out after the fall. She no longer had any supporting ranged attacks to send upwards into the sky, nor could she waste anymore of her rageclaws movement. It would be illogical to expend the last half when she hadn't made it half way up the cliff face.

Instead she turned her attention to the terrain and it condition. It was just as unstable and intense as the last time she looked. She started to count the number of footholds she thought she could make before having to wait again, her inexperience at climbing was coming through here. After counting she saw that she could make it to the stable platform where the viruses were at, just not do much afterwards. As long as she was off this cliff face for a bit she would be happy. She started her climb by wrapping her wings in. Once on the platform, she pulled herself up and took a defensive stance away from the edge, so as to not be knocked off.

Summary
1-3) Climb
While ForgeMan handled the creatures below and cleared the cliff-face of opponents, 213 was able to make her way alone up the sheer side, despite the dangers of the environment. Something glistened at the top; as she made her way up, she found that the summit was encrusted with multi-colored shards of data. Even now, sparkles trailed into the air where pieces became dislodged and floated upward. The data collected here must be what ForgeMan was looking for.

He'd make his way up, but especially of interest at the moment was one large piece at the center of the mountain. The spinning, shimmering diamond of data looked like mystery data, which navis frequently found traversing the net. It was not something to be mined, but rather, simply opened. Perhaps 213 should check it out to see what's inside?

"Don't worry! I'm making my way up now! This lava's like a refreshing bath for me!" ForgeMan shouted up from somewhere below. 213 heard no cannon shots, so it seemed as though the Cattacks must have been taken care of.
The marvelous data gems greatly impressed Fredrick. He moved in a bit closer to the holographic screen, quickly sketching out the apprentice of the unusual data. He wanted to reach through and touch the gems for himself, but even when he tried his hands just passed through the hologram. He leaned back slightly disgruntled and kept drawing, to the best of his ability, the data.

213, although she was impressed, was far less impressed with the data. It did catch her eye, but not as well as it caught Fredrick's. Something else stood out in the middle of the gems though, something that she picked up on quickly. The other diamonds and shapes where all gently floating skyward, but in the center a larger one was staying stationary. As 213 scanned it, she realized it was mystery data, an unknown batch of potentially beneficial data.

As tempted as she was to inspect, she first had to ensure the safety of her ally. Even if he was used to climbing this rock face, and was of the same element as the terrain, the unpredictable nature of the cliffs gave her no comfort. The machine and Uriel would never forgive her if she failed as this mission, this ForgeMan is chosen by the machine for one reason or another. 213, for now, ignored the Mystery Data and moved as close to the edge as she could without standing too close to the delicate edge and watched ForgeMan Climb. As he got closer she would offer him a hand, and provide him a small safety net was near the top should he need it.
{bump}
Unfortunately, there wouldn't be any way for 213 to catch ForgeMan's hand and pull him up, because he wasn't making any attempts to climb. He seemed to have his hands full just keeping enemies from scaling the side. "They're defending something... or drawn here, maybe! We can excavate the site later; for now, we need to find what's keeping all of these viruses around. Do you see anything suspicious up there? Be careful, there's no way all of the viruses can just be surrounding this place at the bottom," he warned her in a series of strained shouts. "There may be something up there with you! Do you see a nest? Anything like a flying virus?"

There was nothing flying though, nor did the summit really have much to it besides the data 213 had already seen...
213 Watched from the side of the cliff, rather incapable of helping ForgeMan down below. She started to draw her sword out of her protection instinct, but quickly placed it back knowing it would do no good. She watched onwards and listened to ForgeMan's words. She would be just as lost down the side of the cliff face as would ForgeMan without 213 determining what was causing the viruses to be drawn to this area. Quickly she pushed herself upwards, dramatically flared out her wings, and scanned the area once more.

The only bit of data that stood out to her greatly was the piece of mystery data in-cased in a spinning diamond in the center of the floating data for ForgeMan. Seeing nothing else which could lend a hand to helping out the one she was entrusted to protect by the machine, she dove for the data to open it.

{Open Mystery Data Crystal}
As the data twisted and began to slide open, responding to 213's touch, the navi became aware of a growling coming just beyond it. Only, it wasn't coming from beyond it at all, she soon realized, but rather, inside it. Two red eyes glared out from inside the mystery data as it attempted to shut itself down on her hand, which thankfully she drew back just in time.

Green energy rose like mist off of its body as it began to move towards her. Unfortunately for her, there was almost no space to maneuver atop the mountain. Just as dangerous as anything else for her would be if it decided to simply try to push her off. Because it floated, she'd probably have no luck imitating that strategy herself...

"What the...! Viruses just appeared! They're on the mountainside and they're climbing up towards you" ForgeMan warned her. It looked as though 213 had a full plate of responsibilities: dealing with the mimic to clear the site, avoiding plummeting off the mountainside, and taking care of it all fast enough to miss the wave of viruses heading towards her.

213 was caught very off balance by the emergence of the eyes on the crystal and hand full of problems that she was soon going to have to deal with. The large metal red claw still perched itself on her hand as she gripped the interior handle of it tighter. She looked over the edge of the cliff at ForgeMan, who was going to need her help rather quickly. She couldn't drop down to help him sadly, even though she wanted to rather badly. She each of the viruses climbing the side were registered in her mind she turned her focus back to the matter at hand, the mimic before her.

She placed her wings behind her in an aggressive upwards fashion and lowered her center of gravity down to increase the force of her push off, towards the virus. The easiest way, as far as she could tell, to quickly deal with this virus was to make use of the same surroundings that the virus was also undoubtedly banking on. She motioned with her hand in a circular arch with three fingers turning and mimicking the pattern of gears, a salute to the machine, before she rushed forwards.

The turn of events had Fredrick rather worried about his experiment, not at all wishing her ill fated fall from the side of the cliff. He held his notebook and pen closer to his face to obscure his mouths expression and he comically kept playing the role of the scribe for the fight. Fredrick nearly felt more like a courtroom scribe than the powerful mechanical angel he made himself out to be for 213.

She flared her wings out wide as she pushed, increasing the steam output from them giving her an imposing form. Wild hot steam flowed outwards as she took a large step towards the mimic, the red claw opened and extended outwards before her. In a dramatic clamp she closed the claws and tired to latch unto the mimic. With a powerful rear back and a counter step her rotated her arm full arm and attempted to hurl the virus off the edge of the map, given it was actually trapped.

Unsure of the weight or possible return attacks from the virus 213 summoned the shield of the machine to her aid, tearing up what little there was of a cliff base and forging it into further casing for her. Gears twisted and interlocked as the armor was reinforced. The final thing 213 did was ping the machine for aid, which Fredrick promptly gave to her. The crossed her arms over her chest and used the granted gift to defend herself should the assault on the mimic have failed. She also folded down her wings for further protection.

((I swear this is actually a course of events following with how the virus functions and not me trying to avoid modding a battle))

Amazingly, 213 managed to clamp her claws around the mimic and hurl it off of the side of the mountain. Despite floating earlier, the creature made no attempt to change its trajectory and just continued downward and downward until smashing onto the ground in a cloud of dust like some cartoon character.

The monsters that had been making their way up continued, however; it seemed that the mimic had nothing to do with why they'd been making there way upward to begin with. "Did you just toss a data packet off the side of the mountain? I hope I wasn't supposed to catch it!" ForgeMan called down from below. "Heads up, the enemies are still on their way up! I think they're leveling off down here. I'll take out a few more and then make my way up to you!"

The aforementioned viruses started to climb up over the mountain's cress. Two shiny drills emerged first, pointing up from either side of 213's vantage point and then angling downward to begin converging towards the center. "If you can take them out, I can get an excavation site set up and it'll be smooth sailing from there," ForgeMan suggested, seeming to have decided that a risky fight was worth it to avoid having to climb through the viruses and lava again later.

213 watched the trail of the glowing green mimic as it flew down to its doom and shattered like a piece of glass. She was strangely very satisfied with this result. Fredrick was enjoying the comical value to it, that something suddenly changed and scared 213 so she threw it off a mountain. Fredrick make a distinct note of this event in his notebook even going as far as drawing a small laughing face next to it. As Fredrick focuses on his writing and drawing, 213 had much bigger issues drilling into the summit right beside her.

The two large drills emerged quickly, much quicker than she had thought. Part of her appreciated the environment she was forced to fight in, it forced her to focus her tactics and ideas, and lowered her mobility, which she often did to herself either way. As the drills leveled out on the platform, she could see their plan. Even as Forgeman was calling up to her she was sending out ping requests to Fredrick, who was snapped back to attention from the tiny drawing he was making. He slotted in the two requested chips from 213 and did it without too much a gap. 213 still noticed the time lag, but it didn't affect her faith meter or make her question Uriel. "You got it ForgeMan," she called out in a neutral tone.

She brought up the first blessing the moment that it was present in her system, and summoned three mechanical cherubs. These Cherubs represented the moko virus from the moko chip she had gotten, and she quickly ordered each one to attack on the drills nearby. Two of them rushes off to their targets. One of the skulls, however, floated helplessly off the side of the mountain, its programing giving it no ability to double up on a single drill.

Next 213's hand snapped to her side and pulled off the sword held there. She rerouted the chip data for the fire hit to it, causing it to ignite in a bright burst of fire. She looked closer to the traditional images of angels with her flaming sword, which she swung once at one drill, and once again at another. With so many defenses already in place, she made no effort to establish more and just aimed to quickly delete the viruses.

Summary
1) MokoRush to DrixolA, B (60 + Ground Attack + x3 Targets)
2) Firehit1 to Drixol A (60 + Impact + Fire + Double Hit)
3) Firehit1 to Drixol B (60 + Impact + Fire + Double Hit)
A number of robo-skulls appeared to aid 213, battering the Drixol viruses before they could reach her. She managed to knock one of them into scrap metal using her flaming sword. Just as the other had almost gotten the tip of its drill into the small of her back, she turned around and severed the drill from its face... er, body?

The FirePhoenix viruses ascending the mountain saw an opportunity to surround her and attack (although it's impossible to say whether they were factoring in her defenses), but before they could finish spiraling up the mountain-top, ForgeMan shot the wings off of one of them using a burning coal. The others quickly flew off in retreat rather than try to take two navis in a fight at once.

"Great, they're gone! Now quick, see if you can use anything lik,e uh, a weapon or tool to get that layer of junk data off from the good stuff. If you strike something really tough, we've hit the jackpot! Like they say in the movies, 'when you hear the clink,'" he suggested. Weren't they there to harvest some sort of data? He made it sound like he was thinking more along the lines of buried treasure... "I'll be making my way up, but there's a few more stragglers I've got to take care of."

213 could see ForgeMan doing what he'd said he was doing, tossing coals down at enemies trying to make their way up. Interestingly, she could also see a sort of gleam coming from where the mimic had fallen earlier. Maybe its body hadn't fully disintegrated upon impact.

--BATTLE COMPLETE--

213 Gets: 200z, DrillArm1
213 listened to Forgeman and took his commands quickly. She flipped through his chips to try to find something suitable to dig with, but came up short handed. The rage claw was already down from previous use. She tried to think of something else, and just as she was about to call down to Forgeman, the data she had failed to pick up from the deleted viruses stood out to her.

She swooped in and picked it up, processing the gift quickly to see what it was. She uploaded the data into her own system and held her right hand high in the air. She spread his wings out wide as a large drilled formed over her hand and forearm, quickly swallowing his right limb. With this she slammed the tip into the top of the mountain and started to dig and drill into its face, trying to locate what was just below it that Forgeman needed. She wasn't sure what clink he was talking about, but she was sure he would know when the sound rang out.

She was interested in what remained behind of the data crystal, and would check that out once her mission was finished here. Fredrick noted her curiosity on the subject.

Summary
1) Use drill arm to dig into the mountain.
Luckily, the drill worked quickly. Unluckily, it just kept going in deeper, tossing "data" (which was really just sparkly dirt, in essence) everywhere until 213's outer body was coated in the stuff. Despite what FurnaceMan had said, it didn't appear that there was anything hard in the pile to strike. Whatever was making up the top of the mountain was basically just junk that had been piling up on top of the rock and magma... it was amazing it had held up under her feet at all.

So where was the data they were looking for?

"Well crap, we've got company and it's not viruses this time," FurnaceMan called up to 213. Before he could explain what the trouble was, she managed to look and see; past the paltry amount of viruses that were still ascending towards them, she spotted two black-winged navis in robes gunning for the data with sort of sloppy, awkward, galloping runs. Where had they come from and how had they even known how to look here? Had they just been passing by and thought, "Hm, free data, let's pick it up?" No telling, but they were most certainly aiming for whatever had come out of that mimic.

"Aaaaw, dammit. Can you get down to that data before those guys do? I don't know how they tailed us here but with how much digging you've already done, I can only guess that's the data we're looking for right down there!" 213's ally requested. There seemed to be few ways outside of reckless falling, however, to reach that data in time...
As 213 kept her digging going with the drill, it became more and more apparent that this data was not the data she was looking for. She kept digging though, following her orders until ForgeMan spoke up otherwise. The data from the mimic was shining on the ground down below, with a new group heading towards it. ForgeMan was indeed set on that being the data, and 213 couldn't risk it with what little she had found on the summit of the mountain. As the group got closer to the data she knew she wouldn't be able to make it down in time to claim the data. Time for intimidation.

Fredrick was leaning in towards the holographic displays as 213 made this turn of events. The decision was quickly made but Fredrick wasn't sure that 213 could successfully pull off an intense action like this. Such a move was a bit beyond what he thought she would do too. He made quick note of this as the ping for a chip was sent, and with a tap on the screen quickly answered.

The data was rerouted to 213's hand. She leveled out her arm, locking the elbow joint, and aiming down her arm. She closed one eye and spread out her wings for balance and set her feet apart. As she kept watching the group get closer, she readied her aim more, her head cocking slightly to one side. As the group was finally within range, she fired the shot. However the shot wasn't aimed at any members of the group, but rather right before them to cut them off from the data in a fiery explosion.

Once the shot was fired she spread her wings out more and dropped her hand to her side. With a strong voice she declared her claim on the data. "That would be mine!"

Summary
1) Take Aim
2) Take Aim
3) Fire TankCannon Before the group cutting them off from the data (80) (A ACC)
The tank shell exploded against the ground in front of the two navis, knocking one over on his butt a short distance away from the impact. The other continued forward into the smoke, seemed to become addled, then fell over like a toddler unused to walking. The fact that they hadn't taken to the air was even more telling, as the fallen one began to flap his useless wings madly. It seemed he really couldn't get up...

Survival instinct took over for the other, and he struggled back to his feet, then began galloping back the way he came.

"A little rough, but I think it worked. They don't seem ready or willing for a fight," ForgeMan called up to her, flashing a thumbs up. "You should make a living out of this, you know? You're a good miner and an even better partner."

While his back was turned and his thumb was raised, the navi on the ground began to undergo a startling transformation. He raised his head up from the ground, showing that his teeth were clenched into a tight grin of madness and that his eyes were wet with tears. The expression didn't have any sense in it at all; the fully white eyes of the navi just glared up at the two with blind anger. Saliva began to pour from his mouth as the wings on his back changed from black to silver... the silver extended out and hardened into knife-blades...

And then exploded, launching knives in every direction. The navi on the ground roared in pain, clutched both hands into his mouth, and then disintegrated into data. There was no jackout mechanism protecting him.

More immediately worrisome was the torrent of blades that he'd produced. Several of the blades hit ForgeMan, causing his face to contort and his grip to loosen itself. Unaware of his position, he tumbled backwards, beginning to fall down the mountainside. The knives were probably only a nuisance at best, but the impact of the fall might do to her employer what it did to the mimic.

The sound of a police siren came from nearby...
