[Mission] - Of grammar knowledge

Rhea fell from the sky-- well, that was exaggeration, really. She came in four feet from the ground, her feet not extending fast enough to secure a perfect landing score that acrobats would be jealous of.

In other words, she fell butt-first.

Camillia tried her best to resist and surpress her laughter, in which she succeeded. Her navi didn't seem to register it as a funny occurence, however-- she just stood up stiffly, looking around for the person they were supposed to meet. If anything, the person could be identified by their amazing speech pattern, unique only to them and no one else that Rhea had met thus far. Never the less, this was a virus-infected area; she had to keep her guards up, as well.

"Mm, I don't see anything yet," Camillia reported, the hints of laughter still evident as traces in her tone. Rhea managed an inaudible sigh.
There's whoosh of air as a blur speeds by Rhea; she turns her head to look, only to be swept off her feet as a second blur whizzes by.

After a brief moment of disorientation, Rhea finds herself riding on a two-person air-scooter sort of thing, that's speeding along behind a similar vehicle.

The navi in front of her, clad in a simple sort of green combat armor, seems to be shooting at the vehicle directly ahead; it's avoiding his shots pretty easily, though.

"Glad you made it." The navi says in a strong voice, taking another shot. "That's the guy we're chasing up ahead-- I'm having trouble getting him off that stupid bike, so see if you can hit him with something."

It does seem as though he has had at least a few lucky shots with that buster of his, though.

BATTLE!

'Bad Guy': 500 (on scooter)

Nahvogat-

Rhea pauses at what that pops up when her systems prog the navi for a name-- apparently Richard's post on the mission BBS wasn't all broken English.

Nahvogatir: 220 (on 2-person scooter)
Rhea: 100 (on 2-person scooter)
Two-person Scooter: 200 (Behind Scooter)

Terrain: 100% Blurring-By-Too-Fast-To-Matter™.
Rhea blinked and held tight to the scooter that had suddenly picked her up, trying not to be blown off by the wind. A two-person scooter, and a green-clad navi. She took a brief moment to register all the sudden changes and adapted into the situation, trying to analyze what was the best way to take the target down. All they needed to do was to take down the vehicle, really.

Though judging from the... Nah...vogatir's shots, it wouldn't be easily achieved. "Um," her audio feed hummed in Rhea's headphones, "perhaps corrupting the enemy's scooter might work?" Amidst the flying hair and wind, the navi frowned. "It might work," she responded, and the chip data was speeding through the network towards where she was. This was the first chip they obtained from trading with other operators and navis... Now it was time to put it into good use-- though Rhea didn't know exactly how it worked.

Nonetheless, her swordarm generator hummed to life in resonance with the data received (though the sound was lost in the wind). Two covers slid into the tips of her index and middle fingers, wires connecting to the back of her arm-- which had a small, flat cannon replacing the generator. The cannon had a cheesy tag, 'MARUBLASTER2', spraypainted on it in a flimsy fashion.

Aiming the weapon (and her arm) at the enemy ahead, her arm conveniently resting over Nahvogatir's shoulder like a stabilizing tripod stand, watching the trajectory of the vehicle ahead even as she prepared to fire off. In fact, Rhea does this for a long, long, long moment. "Uh... What on Earth are you doing, Rhea?" Camillia mumbled, staring at her navi, who was too busy concentrating to respond. The redhead operator sighed, taking the shotgun chip to slot into the PET. It was just then, the said operator missed out all the action of Rhea firing the cannon (at last) and sent an electrifying shell speeding towards the enemy's scooter.

Not wasting time, Rhea flung the used cannon from her arm with a swing, summoning the shotgun data, pulling it back to aim at the enemy rider. Just as Rhea sent a shotgun shell flying at the vehicle before them, she wondered if she was lucky enough to hit both vehicle and rider at the same time.

Camillia wanted to complain about how she missed the action, but was looking very hopeful and highly in anticipation at her PET screen to see how the shots will turn out.

Summary of actions:
1) Take Aim (Scooter+'Bad Guy')
2) MaruBlaster2 - ELEC, 40DMG, Bug - Scooter
3) Shotgun - 50DMG, Spread1 - Scooter/'Bad Guy'
Rhea takes a shot at the 'Bad Guy's scooter with her MARUBLASTER- but he nimbly maneuvers his scooter out of the way. She has a bit more luck with the shotgun, however, and manages to blast both him and the scooter with it. The 'Bad Guy' opens fire blindly behind him with his own gun, but only one shot hits the scooter. You think you can hear some mild cursing-- though how mild it is may just be trickery on the wind's part-- as you and Nahvogatir keep speeding onward.

"Damn," Camillia cursed at the miss, watching closely at how it might be risky if the battle dragged on. They only had that limited set of chips... If only there was something that can bind and disable the enemy scooter...

... Bind and disable.

"Rhea! I got an idea!" the NetOp said excitedly, free hand blindly reaching for the cannon chip. "Binding, bind! Use your binding attack!" she continued... and it most probably would cause confusion to anyone else that wasn't Rhea. The Navi, however, caught where Camillia was going. "... And limit their movement... I see," Rhea commented, pulling her left arm away. Data particles of the generator shifted and sparked into a set of whips, ready for its master's use.

She ducked her head low just in case anything flew at their way.

Peeking up over the Nahvogatir's shoulder, she shouted a warning before she threw her whip forward, the magical rope extending itself to try and grip onto the enemy scooter. The long haired Navi tightened her feet around the scooter beneath her just to be safe, as a cannon locked and clicked into her other, dominant arm. Rhea waited for a while before raising the cannon, firing at the enemy scooter, attempting to bring it down once and for all-- hopefully with the help of the whip's binding.

Summary of actions
1) Harvest - 30HP Drain - Scooter - Also using whip as a binding element to limit movement
2) Dodge
3) Cannon - 40DMG, Knockback - Scooter
Rhea latches onto the scooter with her whip... in response, its' rider speeds forward, yanking her off of Nahvogatir's scooter and dragging her behind it!

As Rhea flails about in the wind, holding on for dear life to her whip, she gets the feeling it would be a bad idea to try and destroy the scooter she's dangling from as it speeds along at a lethal pace. The 'Bad Guy' tries to shake her off by swerving around a bit, but she holds fast.

All was SUPPOSED to be well until the moment she was yanked from her seat to a free flight journey. "What the-- Hey! Friend-guy-Nahvotagir or whatever! Do something!" Camillia shouted, as if she was affected by the windy conditions herself. Rhea was busy with trying to just hold on, what with the enemy constantly trying to shake her off like a wild animal (a bit more subtle, maybe). On another hand, Camillia was continuing her shouting spree. "Just why the heck are we chasing this guy, anyway?! Are we supposed to defeat him, or steal the scooter, or what?! There's no obvious instructions or anything!"

It then strike Camillia that they might not be able to hear her.

She then took out a mini keyboard, plugging it to her PET, then sending the recap of what she had just shouted in a neat little window towards Nahvogatir's face. Well, the dashboard of the 2-person scooter.

Rhea, being more pragmatic at the moment, decided to just do her own part and climb her way up the extended whip. Using the two hands to get herself closer to the destination scooter, she quickly tried to cover the distance towards more stable 'grounds'-- that was the scooter, really. Perhaps a hijacking was in place, the Navi was thinking-- all the while thinking if she might sweat if she was human with all the wind.

She just hoped that the whip was durable. Rhea never used the whip this way before.

Summary of actions:
1) TACTICAL CLIMBING - climb onto enemy Scooter
2&3) Turnsplice D:
A text message nearly whacks Camillia in the face back in the real world: "He stole a chip that's very important to me and my operator! We're chasing him to try and get it back!"

Meanwhile, Rhea tries climbing up the whip... it's harder than it looks, what with the 'Bad Guy' frantically swerving about in an attempt to shake her off.

It'd probably take about another action to climb up...

Feeling slightly more confident with the security of the grip (and halfway up the whip-rope), Rhea stole a glance at the Nahvogatir before continuing her climb. Apparently if she continued conjuring it, the whip will remain even if she no longer used it as a weapon. Well, it's all for the better. "W-what kind of a partner are you?! Do something!" Camillia sent another message flying to Nahvogatir again, littered with irritation of the operator.

Looking like a student going through PE class, Rhea steadily grabbed at the next stretch before her as quickly as she could muster, trying not to think of the consequences that awaited her below (and above). As if suddenly remembering that her Navi was in trouble, Camillia suddenly turned her attention back to Rhea, her voice reaching her clearly through her headphones. "H-hey, do you need anything, Rhea? Are you okay?"

"Still good," she said, face frowning from the effort. "Here, have this," the wheelchair-bound NetOp said, and Rhea noticed a Guard chip coming her way.

Without giving a second thought, she activated the chip-- letting the other free generator on her arms to summon forth a translucent, green shield above her as she continued her ascend.

Summary of actions:
2) Tactical movement: Climbclimb
3) Guard1 - REFLECT 60 once, breakable
Rhea climbs up onto the scooter despite the 'Bad Guy's best efforts, and he takes a swing at her- only to meet a guard! He frantically steadies the controls with a hand as the scooter threatens to teeter out of control...

Nahvogatir shoots Camillia another text message back. "Like what," it says, "Shoot through your navi to get to him? Blow up the scooter they're both standing on?" Nahvogatir holds up his right hand, shifting it into a gun, to emphasize his point.

If it was one thing bad about Rhea, some of her actions make her look ridiculously suicidal.

Camillia was holding her breath at the sight of Rhea securely situated behind the 'Bad Guy' in the scooter, and was about to sigh in relief when the sword Navi raised her arm, activating the parrying program that was already in her systems. "Wait, Rhea, what are you--"

Rhea ignored the operator, too caught up in the encounter to respond. There's only one reasoning to describe her sudden change in attitude-- it was because she was deriving absolute enjoyment from the challenge. The blade glowed into existence on Rhea's arm, looking ready to resist against any attacks coming at its master's way. With the swordarm outstretched before her, she pulled back her left arm into a fist before swinging it in a wide arc before her in an attempt to throw the 'Bad Guy' off the scooter. Or... at least, she looked like she was doing that-- it wasn't as if her backhanding was that strong to push someone off a scooter, anyway.

It was more of an act, of course.

Rhea could be later seen brandishing the waiting cannon chip at last-- materializing in the backhanding arm earlier. She pointed it, point blank, at the 'Bad Guy' before her. If all goes well, it would knock the enemy out of the scooter. If not... well. Results would have to tell.

Just as an additional bonus, she flashed a heart-warming smile at the 'Bad Guy' before pulling the trigger.

Summary of actions:
1) Parried Charge - 2-hit shield, ont using movement action
2) One Damage?! - left-handed backhand at 'Bad Guy', Strengthen 39 for Cannon chip
3) Cannon - 40DMG + 39 Strengthen, Knockback - 'Bad Guy'
The 'Bad Guy' spins around, leaning against the controls in a way that keeps the scooter from veering off course, and takes one, two shots at Rhea. Both rebound off of her shield. She backhands him as he lines up his gun for a third shot, and the villain is stunned enough that he can do little besides gape as she blasts him off the scooter with her cannon.

The bad dude flies past the controls and over the front of the scooter, then collides with it in midair, sending the scooter flipping. Rhea wisely leaps off to the side as it starts to twirl end-over end, and then scrapes a shallow, lengthy rut into the ground before finally coming to rest with one last skip- and a grand explosion as whatever fuels the thing finally meets a volatile end.

Nahvogatir leaps off of the two-person scooter and tucks himself into a short roll along the ground-- the scooter itself, meanwhile, continues to zip off into the distance...

...well, it's not like the 'Bad Guy' is going to use his scooter any time soon.

Nahvogatir uncurls from his roll, and he as well as the 'Bad Guy' get up at about the same time; Nahvogatir levels his gun at the Navi, and speaks. "Give me my chip back!" Nahvogatir commands, waving his buster around threateningly.

Rhea finally manages to get a good look at him after all this time; how he avoided her automatic scans before is still a question, but his real name pops up now.

Wrecker.

===DOUBLE TURN===

Wrecker chuckles ominously. His hand fumbles around a belt affixed to his waist... "You want your CHIP back, huh?" He enunciates the word for effect, grinning sinisterly. "Well then, why don't you go ahead and TAKE IT?"

Wrecker suddenly becomes a blur of motion; he lurches forward at an incredible speed, an Elecblade hanging at his side, and then strikes. The arcing, wild lightning of the Elecblade embeds itself within, and then through Nahvogatir, leaving the tip sticking out of his back. Wrecker disengages the blade and swings his buster around, punching Nahvogatir with it at the same time he fires off a shot.

He leaps back, out of the way, as Nahvogatir tries weakly to retaliate, but cannot escape the navi's aim. Nahvogatir fires once, missing Wrecker by scant inches, then charges up before firing again; the shot hits this time, knocking Wrecker clear onto his backside.

Nahvogatir, his systems impaired by the electricity coursing through him, reaches down and grabs the Elecblade by its' handle. He pulls the entire length out in one swift stroke; it crackles wildly as it hits the ground, and Nahvogatir teeters a bit as his systems graphically cover the hole in his stomach. He's a bit out of breath... but he still levels his buster once again with Wrecker.

Back where we started...

Rhea eyed the Wrecker and his behaviour, observing the exchange going on between the other two navis as if she was invisible. Her attention was averted elsewhere, however-- when the two men suddenly clashed, swords flashed and a few flurry of movements later, a shiny object was catching her attention.

Shining object.

A sword.

One could almost see the sparkle in Rhea's eyes as she dreamily stared at it.

"Uh, Rhea? ... Swords, huh? Uh, I'm... sure they won't mind if you use it?" her almost-forgotten operator said, herself gulping in anticipation-- but not for the shiny ElecBlade. Camillia was more worried about the battle's outcome. Her suggestion was something she didn't pay much attention to as she counted the remaining chips.

Two left. And the enemy had a big bulk of life left.

"...So it is alright for me to take it?" Rhea commented in awe, and Camillia swore she could see twitching fingers from the Navi. "... I... guess?" she replied.

Silence.

Then Rhea was off, manuveuring herself to scoop up the precious ElecBlade off the ground in her stride. Upon picking it up, she tumbled sideways twice before charging at the Wrecker-- Rhea's new-found toy securely strapped to her gauntlet. Nevertheless, it would hurt if she fell into any of the land depressions; so she kept an eye out on it when she ran. ... Until Wrecker came into swinging range, anyway.

She abruptly stopped herself in front of him with a braking foot, spine structure hunching low with her other leg, stretching towards her left, guiding her body to spin her to the enemy's sides. The moment she regained stable footing, she diagonally slashed the shining ElecBlade upwards in grim determination. Before she even finished the act, she was already requesting from Camillia for the next set of chips.

"We don't have any more, Rhea-- these two are the only ones left... Use them wisely, okay?" the NetOp said, slightly worried. "Yeah. I will," came the brief response even as Rhea conjured a giant bear claw as her swordarm. The ElecBlade, spent and used, was discarded immediately afterwards, forgotten for the moment.

Rhea swiped at the Wrecker again, now with a RageClaw-- it did not pack as significant a firepower as the ElecBlade did, but it was still something Rhea was proficient with. Once again she made the momentum guide her out of harm's way after the swipe; almost looking as if she was playing tag with the enemy.

She loaded the HeatShot shell into her left arm-- already forming into a cannon.

And Rhea turned, shooting a speed-packed explosive shell at the Wrecker, aimed to kill.

((Whumpbump))
Nahvogatir keeps his buster leveled with Wrecker, and slowly reaches down to grab the Elecblade...

...Only for Rhea to complete her mad dash for the thing and snatch it up. Nahvogatir babbles something confusedly as his operator squawks into the connection, but both of their fears are alleviated when Rhea takes a successful stab at Wrecker herself, impaling the navi on the lightning blade. The blade itself disappears as Rhea follows up the attack with her Rageclaw, which Wrecker barely dodges. He attempts to take a shot at her with his buster, but she nimbly dodges out of the way.

Rhea then takes advantage of her position slightly farther back to line up a Heatshot with Wrecker; this time she does not miss. She does, however, distract him just long enough for Nahvogatir to get in some shots of his own...

Wrecker snarls at the duo, slowly backing away. "Fine, you can have your stupid chip back!" He growls, throwing the chip data itself to the floor. The navi breaks into a full-on run in the opposite direction, clearly having lost interest in all this...

Mission complete, it seems...

"Let him, Rhea," Camillia said finally when she saw Rhea was getting ready to give chase. She inputted the Recover10 chip, motioning for Rhea to use it.

The purple haired Navi looked at the Wrecker go, slight dissatisfaction shown on her face before fading. As the adrenaline rush slowly settle down, she activated the data input to sprinkle dust of recovery on the ally. Then she proceeded to pick up the chip data, handing it over to Nahvogatir. "Here," Rhea said simply, hands outstretched.

Summary of actions:
Recover10 on Nahvogatir
Rhea patches Nahvogatir up a little bit. The navi tenses almost imperceptibly as she grabs the chip data, but relaxes once more when she offers it to him. Nahvogatir lets out a sigh of relief.

"My operator will be glad-" He starts, before being audibly interrupted by a burst of squawk-y dialog from his earpiece, "-sorry, is glad to have this back." Nahvogatir smiles.

"My operator will send you the reward over the BBS system, so I'm going to go ahead and jack out for now... thank you very much for helping us, Rhea." Nahvogatir finishes with a bow, and then disappears, jacking out.

MISSION COMPLETE! (Such as it was.)
