Alignment Mission: Metal Gear Nitro

"Jeez!" Nitro shouted, jumping back from the terminal in surprise. His head whipped around, looking for the source of the noise. His gaze finally rested on the guards surging into the room, and he was momentarily flabbergasted at their sudden appearance. He then located the Technician within the group, and his face changed from confused to murderous within the millisecond. "Oh, you've just signed your death warrant, pal," Nitro said darkly. Chris quickly slotted in one of their remaining chips, the Heatshot, and the weapon appeared on Nitro's arm. He whipped it up, shouting "Would it kill you to give me a moment of privacy?!", and fired the weapon at the group, hoping to hit as many of them as he could while they were still close together. He then dove to the side and behind the tall terminal. He rolled into a sitting position, with his back against the device, and he said with a sinister tone: "Well, interrupting me will get you killed, so funny how that worked out for you."

Counterattacking swiftly, Nitro immediately fired off a destructive flaming blast from his Heatshot. The explosion caught two of the Enforcers in its radius. The third Enforcer dove backwards when Nitro raised the weapon, dragging down the Technician along with him. Nitro moved back behind the cover of the terminals as another shot nearly clipped his shoulder. None of the enemy Navis moved to engage him; it seemed they were busy trying to regroup after Nitro's attack.

"Can you tell if they're coming at me?" Nitro asked. "I can't from where I am."
"They don't seem to be approaching at the moment," Chris replied. "This seems like a novel time for a surprise attack."
"Yeah, but what to use..." Nitro pondered. He ran through his options in his head, and eventually decided that a terrain change might be in order. He kept close to the terminal as a green tinted wine bottle appeared in his hand, a flaming white rag poking out of the neck. He moved away from the terminal slightly, and lobbed the Molotov over towards the Enforcers and Technician. He then took the chance to heal himself by pointing his buster at the ground and firing his hand grenade. He took a quick breath in of the restoratives in the air, then kept his eye out for any would-be attackers coming frrom either end of the terminals.

Nitro tossed the flaming bottle just as the NetPolice force continued forward. When they saw the bottle, they began to move faster. The initial explosion only ended up engulfing the Technician, and he was done for by the time it subsided. A wave of lava covered the floor near the terminal, damaging the Enforcers as they charged across it. One fired a quick shot at Nitro, but he drew back before the attack made contact.

Though still standing on the lava, the three enemy Navis slowed down after the attack and were now preparing to cautiously move around the corner in pursuit of their foe. Having healed himself, Nitro was probably going to have to move unless he had something better in mind.

"Alright, now what?" Nitro asked.
"You've still got that Rageclaw, right?" Chris asked.
"Yeah, that's right," Nitro replied.
"I say we charge 'em. I'll send you a Guard, just to keep you covered."
"Sounds better than playing hide and seek," Nitro said as the shield appeared over his free arm. "Alright, let's do this."
Nitro readied himself, then vaulted towards the end of the terminals. Stopping just past the corner, he abruptly changed direction and hurled himself through the group of Enforcers. Keeping his shield raised in front of him, he began swinging the Rageclaw wildly in all directions, aiming to rake at least one of the Netpolice Navis as he charged through. Once through, he turned on the spot and threw himself forward again, back through the group. He swung the Rageclaw again as he traveled through, and turned himself just as he landed on the other side, keepinmg the guards in view.

Nitro's attempted charge was hindered slightly when one of the Enforcers got a shot off on his Guard before his even passed them (also getting the shot reflected for his trouble). Despite that, some expert RageClaw flailing saw Nitro landing a hit and passing through the line of Enforcers. The only one that hadn't been damaged from the charge whirled around and shot Nitro with his buster, but when Nitro made his second assault he got revenge for the attack.

Two of the NetPolice Navis were now in a sorry state, barely managing to point busters at Nitro. The other one, however, decided it was time to stop playing around and brandished a glowing Sword produced by battlechip. It would probably hurt if that thing made contact.

"Oh ho?" Nitro said, examining the Enforcer's Sword. "So you wanna dance?" Nitro raised his buster, pointing it directly at the armed guard. "I'd love to, but I'm a little busy at the moment. Maybe some other time." Nitro fired a volley of bombs at the Navi, then turned his attention to his weakened partners. He pointed his buster at each one in turn, and fired a single bomb at each of them, hoping to knock them back onto the lava. He kept his eye on the cloud of dust and smoke resulting from his barrage, in case any of them survived.

Nitro wasn't the least bit worried by the powerful blade the Enforcer produced. Calmly launching his own powerful volley of bombs, the targeted Navi found no place to dodge as he was engulfed in a massive explosion that subsided shortly after. Suffice to say, there was no one standing there after the blast. The weaker bombs fired at the weakened Enforcers sent one flying back and missed the other one. As the one bomb made contact, the Navi was flung back onto the lava and burst into data as he jacked out. The other NetPolice Navi was smart enough to dodge backwards onto the lava anyway, getting a full serving of lava as he did.

He didn't let that stop him from trying to fire at Nitro, which only allotted him enough time to get one shot off before the lava finished him off. To his credit, the shot did hit its target.

"Glad that's over with," Nitro said, nursing the spot where the Enforcer's shot had made contact. "Let's plant it and get out of here before more guards show up. But first..." Nitro aimed his buster at the ground and fired, letting his signature medical munition work its magic.
"Yeah, we should probably step on it," Chris agreed. "There's something fishy going on here, and from the look of what that monitor said, whatever's here'll probably do more harm than good if it's finished."
Nitro moved over to the other side of the room and stepped down into the generator's vicinity. He moved around behind it, and unhooked the remaining charge, placing it in the corner. The charge blended in with the floor, just as the other one had.
Nitro walked back towards the door. He raised his buster, and approached the door slowly. Once he was positioned directly in front, his buster nearly touching the door, he discarded his Rageclaw, and pressed the button on the wall beside the door. As soon as it slid open, he stepped through the doorway, and looked in all directions, to ensure that he hadn't been ambushed.

Nitro took the time to heal himself before going to work on placing the charge. It didn't take long before he was finished, now heading for the door. He cautiously opened the door to the main room and immediately saw the other room's door slide open temporarily before closing, probably indicating that they were replacing the guards. Something was different, though. The door didn't close completely, probably to overcome the soundproofing of the rooms in case of another attack. If there were more guards in there, Nitro would actually have to be quiet this time.

They also appeared to be upping the security, as there was now a dedicated guard standing just before the door to the building's exterior... and he was looking into the door. It seemed the NetPolice would hire anyone these days. It would be a good idea to "remove" him somehow before someone came out of the other room. Quietly.

Nitro looked around the room, and took in his current situation. "So... we've got one guard that doesn't seem to have been briefed on where I'm supposed to be, which is good," Nitro observed. "And we've probably got a load of guards in the other room with the door ajar, which could be a problem."
"Seems like you're gonna have to take that guard out quietly," Chris noted.
"Yeah... what do we have that's strong but quiet?" Nitro asked.
"Sorry, but the only thing we've got that's quiet is the Rageclaw." Chris replied.
"Send me that, and make a note to look into quiet explosives."
"Is that even a thing?" Chris asked, as he slotted in the requested chip.
"Probably not, but it couldn't hurt to take a look." Nitro turned his attention to the guard across the room as he recieved the Rageclaw over his hand. He'd have to dispatch him in one quick movement, or he'd have a very bad situation on his hands. Taking a deep breath, Nitro darted forward, bringing the Rageclaw behind him. Once he was within an arm's length of the guard, he thrusted the claw forward with all his might, intending to plunge the weapon into the guard's back.

((My apologies... that would be the west door and a guard facing west. Perhaps I should be the one recalling this room's map. :'D And the door to the exterior is closed.))

With little to use in the vein of silent combat, Nitro instead brought out his RageClaw again. Sneaking up on the oblivious guard, he easily pulled off a triple stab that resulted in the guard fragmenting into data. Not before he let out a split second cry, unfortunately. Nitro could hear the NetPolice personnel in the first generator room stirring.

...that was a lot of moving feet. Maybe it would be wise to not be here in ten seconds.

Objective 3: Escape the facility
Damnit, damnit, damnit! Nitro thought, as he detected the sound of a lot of feet, each pair, and the Navis accompanying them, seeming to have been alerted to his presence. Where's the keypad? Nitro franticly looked around the door, and eventually located the terminal that operated the door. He mashed "T-E-K-S-Q-P" as quickly as he could, then waited for the door to slide open. As soon as the door slid open far enough for him to get through, he slipped through the opening, then turned and fired a bomb at the small terminal on the other side. With any luck, there would be some sort of fail-safe locking mechanism that would keep the door closed and locked. Nitro turned on the spot, ready to keep running through if any other guards had been alerted.

The first guard came charging into the room when Nitro was aiming his buster at the door control panel. He noticed the panel crackling violently with electricity as he turned to escape. A repetitive whooshing noise from behind him told him the door had probably jammed.

That didn't help him with the numerous guards running towards him from the north, though. They were probably attracted by the bomb's explosion. Nitro thought he could see one or two guards in the southern section of the compound, but right now one or two guards was a lot better than the waves of guards that were presumably on their way. The hole in the fence was almost in sight.

"Oh swell," Nitro said, seeing the guards moving in on his position. "More setbacks."
"Getting to that hole in the fence might be a good idea," Chris suggested. "And it'd be an even better idea to do it quickly."
"Yeah, I guess that we could use that hole..." Nitro said. "But then there's the much faster option of just making a new hole."
"What are you-" Chris began to ask. He then watched Nitro raise his hands over his head.
"Oh no. No, no, no, no, no."
A large metallic barrel appeared in his hands, and Nitro's more feminine frame had a slightly harder time supporting the load. He did manage to keep it over his head, however.
"I do not condone this! This really does not seem like a good idea!"
Nitro heaved the large keg toward the fence, the hulking explosive coming to a stop against it. He then produced a match, and held it over the trail of gunpowder left behind.
"Are you even paying attention?!"
Nitro dropped the match, then threw his arms up over his face. Despite the visor protecting his eyes from any possible debris, he clamped them shut, and not a second later, he heard a deafening explosion, and a bright light burning against his eyelids. Nitro slowly opened his eyes, to see if his blasting barrel had broken the base's barbed wire-topped baricade.

Nitro's attempt to make a new escape route worked wonders as subtlety was defenestrated went right out the window. The explosion made one gigantic gap in the fence and one gigantic escape route for Nitro.

Oh, and more guards showed up. Lots more. A few started firing at Nitro after the explosion.

Nitro cautiously looked up after it stopped raining debris. "Well, that seemed to do the trick," Nitro said proudly. "And you were worried."
"I still am Nitro," Chris replied, an irritated tone in his voice. "Look! That little stunt you just pulled attracted even more guards!"
Sure enough, when Nitro looked over his shoulder, there were at least twice as many guards headed for him. He saw one raise their buster, and ducked just in time as a shot whizzed just over his head.
"Yeah, maybe that was a bad idea..." Nitro admitted.
"It's a little too late for that!" Chris shouted. "Get out of there while you still can! We're almost done with all this, you've just got to get to a safe distance and we can end it!"
"Right!" Nitro said. He broke into a sprint, right through the fence's latest addition, and he put the facility and its personel behind him. Now it was just a matter of time before he could finish what he started.

Nitro started to sprint through the hole in the fence and didn't stop until he was at least a hundred feet away. He'd managed to outlast his pursuers, some of which were breathing heavily while others were busy conversing over radios. Hopefully, letting them contact the base wouldn't matter too much after what Nitro was about to do.
