Gungnir had made the first strike, but Triggerman resolved to make the faster one. He hardly dared to turn a blind eye to the presence of RegalMan; his trust for him still wore thinner than a dirty lawyer's construct of lies.
Western Wind brewed aloft the serape's sensitivities, inciting its gentle flutter. The slinger lowered his hat as he condemned his targets in his mind.
"...alright old man. Munitions," he communicated gruffly.
"Naturally, charming." Marlowe flicked a quartet of chips in hand, slotting each like gambler all out of Luck's pity.
The buzzards loomed overhead waiting for the first kills, cawing like the devil's watchmen. They were drawn to death like black to the darkest night, and they were prone to dive at the first sign of a casualty.
From beneath his brim's shelter he sought his first; a prime MarkCannon presented itself privy for attack like a punch drunk gigolo, and Triggerman wasn't declining the offer. His free hand bathed in an isolated portrait of Hell's fire, gently faded in the gusted scenery.
A tumbleweed, dazed like homesick hitchhiker, drew by in the wind's callous effect. It had a sad tale to tell, one it would relate only to the lonely damned as they could become at the end of aggression.
Maintaining his gun hand beneath the poncho, Triggerman flung his left hand before him, inciting a partisan of flame to bluntly rendezvous with the stationary target.
As the arm fell to rest, Triggerman's gun hand grew comfortable in the touch of the .45. With an instant movement, he drew the lead harboring friend, sparing no time for novel re-introductions.
The slinger span the gun as the buzzards aloft painted death's shadow across the terrain like a symbol of foreboding. In a moment, the Western Wind's disapproval dispatched their foul presence; dejected, the vultures circled higher from the violence, in fear of the bullets to come.
Triggerman enacted their fearful prophecy; he cocked the hammer in initiation, prompting the next lead round to rotate into purpose.
With scarcely a pivot of the foot, Triggerman's practiced gun immediately whipped a shot from the hip at a twice damned pair of Cannons. The gunsmoke lingered like bloody deed's chill memory, allayed by the whisper of the Western Wind's allegory.
He raised the .45 to eye level, intent on perpetuating the next victims to fall.
At the end of his barrel's sight were two equally prompted Boomers, and they had a remedy only a fixing of lead could cure.
With single-eyed aim, Triggerman's finger committed to the trigger like the looming vulture's dive. With insatiable hunger, the buzzards drove themselves at the sight of fresh gunfire, black hearts with the hope of a new carcass held high.
Tossing the .45 into the air to catch the weapon in his other hand, Triggerman produced a quick spin to the side as his attention came upon the Boomer's companion.
The hammer was thumbed down single-handedly; Lady Luck licked her whiskey lips as she re-asserted her damned presence amidst the dawn of violence.
But this time, she had brought a noose in tow, and it wasn't wrapping around the slinger's neck. The Dame was inviting him to cast the bullets, letting her do the rest. Triggerman didn't know the hand she held or the agenda she had wrote, but the whore was extending an opportunity.
21, he'd take, for all her bitter smile and hazy intentions. Hard pressed, the trigger finger performed its duty upon the .45, dispatching another instance of lead from Triggerman's hip.
Three...
1) Snipe: FireHit1 MarkCannon A (60, high accuracy)
2) Shotgun MarkCannon B, C (50, splash)
3) MarkCannon1 Boomer C (70, may lock on)
4) MarkCannon1 Boomer D (70, may lock on)

The behemoth's boomerang cut through all but one ElecOgre as the disguised Navi held them in place, and his claymore quickly covered the difference. Next, the group set to work on the Markcannons. Gungnir's explosive punch knocked two around for starters, then "RegalMan"'s Icewave took care of one. The Navi followed up with a crossbow blast, setting another two for TriggerMan to take shots at. Gungnir's flaming blast started on the remaining viruses. TriggerMan took aim and fired, destroying one of the only survivors, and in self defense the last released its boomerang, cutting through the trio: even this final effort was rendered useless as rays from Gungnir's cube brought the group back to full-health status.

RegalMan snatched up the core data that had remained after the viruses were deleted. He didn't bother to examine what he had picked up, merely transferring the Zenny to Rayth's account and the BattleChip data to the PET. He wore a smug smile as he turned to his current "companions".
"Haha! Another battle well fought. I commend you my friends. Your skills match well with mine. I dare say that we could continue on for days at this rate." RegalMan laughed heartily.
Despite his cheeriness, the trio had slipped up momentarily. The final Boomer had managed to tag the group with its giant projectile and it was only the luck of the draw that the barbarian Navi's cube BattleChip had turned up blue. If the summoned DBLCube had not unleashed its healing light, the trio would have been in a world of hurt. RegalMan took the opportunity to speak his mind.
"What luck that cube turned blue, eh?" RegalMan winked toward the giant Navi. "A spot of good luck, though who knows what would have happened if the crimson light flashed, eh? Perhaps we would have beat those scalliwags without a scratch?"
"Hm," Rayth interrupted over the private link. "This BattleChip is pretty good."
"Oh?" Chaos' thoughts answered over the same line. "What is it?"
"A MarkCannon," Rayth answered as he downloaded the data onto a blank Chip. "It is basically a stronger version of the normal cannon, but with an advanced targeting feature. It can lock onto nearby viruses."
"Useful," Chaos smiled as he turned toward his "companions". "The supplies left by the foolish viruses shall aid us in our journey. Come, friends! Let us go forth and find more villains to slay!"

The gust's vigour died with the absence of hostile life; the melody that had preceded had been cut short into faded overture. In the absence, the Silence of Death hung low like a cynical accompaniment in the violence's wake.
Triggerman set to the task of The Reload, solely engrossed in the duty like a single tracked lyncher. The Western Wind served as silent sentry, observing with cold sophistication.
Six.
Still taciturn, the slinger again eyed Regalman from beneath the shade of his brim. Shakespeare had shown he could put up half a damn of merit in combat, but there was still a bullet in Triggerman's gun that he dedicated to him.
...One for you.
He dispatched the thought to dedicate himself to another attention, his eyes turning to Junior's giant. He still hadn't dropped a name, but the son-of-a-gun had proven his toy wasn't just for show. The previous battles' events had dictated a truth about him; he was too much of a robot to harbor rotting intent.
"...am I sticking around with goliath and Shakespeare?" Triggerman barked over the private line.
"...I reckon for another round. I know for a fact you're not liking Regalman's air about as much as me, which is why you're keeping him close for now." Marlowe's tenor paused, presumably for the indulgence of a drink or puff. "...I think Junior still has things to prove to this old man."
With the ghost of a half inclined nod to Gungnir and little acknowledgment of the Renaissance would be, Triggerman set forth in silent step. Spinning the .45, Triggerman reset the six-chambered harbinger into its holstered place.
((Battle 4 after Albel posts banter... hopefully. If he doesn't, mod and include him in the battle anyway.))

((May as well post...)
"Aha!" RegalMan shouted as he spotted the viruses. "Another horde of dastardly foes has risen to offer a challenge. Shall we answer? Shall we slay them as we have slain those who have come before? Surely, we shall..." He paused for dramatic effect. "For we are the righteous! We are the protectors of this land and any foul beasts that rise up shall fall before our blades! Come, my brethren! Follow me into battle!"
RegalMan drew his sword with a single swift motion, the ebony blade slicing through the air to point straight at the marauding viruses. He laughed merrily as his gloved hand tightened on the ivory hilt of the sword. Crimson lines of energy crackled along the length of the blade, dancing wildly from base to tip. The blade, black as night, pulsed with an inner light as a soft hum filled the air. It seemed to fed on the crimson energy, lapping hungrily as it purred in anticipation. The humming grew louder as RegalMan singled out a virus, one of the glowing cubes that hovered in the air.
"Allow me to be the first to strike," he offered to his companions. "This horde shall not fall as easily as the others, but we shall still give them hell. For Queen and Country!"
RegalMan slashed the air with his blade, a back-handed chop that left a ebony and crimson afterimage hanging for seconds before it disappeared. Inside, Chaos knew that the DBLCube would follow the motions of the blade. His control over gravity would send the virus hurtling through the air only to be smashed upon the ground a few moments later. The attack would not finish the tough virus, but it would startle it, disrupting its aim.
A cool wind caught RegalMan's cape, causing the fabric to dance wildly behind him. Chaos glanced at the desperado next to him, but the wind was not of TriggerMan's doing. The other cube, the small one sitting next to the other viruses, was the cause of this zephyr. RegalMan grinned as he turned his attention to the airy virus. It would be the first to fall.
The ebony blade shimmered as Rayth slotted in a few BattleChips. It lengthened, doubling in size and power as the transformation took affect. RegalMan held the claymore lightly, resting the flat of the blade across his shoulder. His smile widened as his cape swirled around him. The Navi had vanished, a crimson afterimage remaining in the spot he had occupied. A soft pop signaled his reemergence into the Net. He chuckled softly, now behind the Windbox, and brought the claymore crashing down in a crushing blow.
Dust and debris obscuring his vision, RegalMan jumped away from where the Windbox had been. His sword, having regained its original size and shape, drifted through the smoke, crimson waves of energy repulsing any tendrils of vapor that clung to the blade. Chaos scanned the battlefield, unsure as to how to proceed. His instincts told him to keep moving, to dodge away from any possible attacks, but RegalMan refused to run and hide.
Another BattleChip materialized in his hand, a tiny cube that alternated in pulsing red and blue. He cursed, knowing the fickle nature of the weapon, but he had nothing to lose. He tossed the cube high into the air, the pulsating box expanding until it was the same size as the opposing DBLCubes. The box began to hover in the air, slowly rotating as its multicolor radiance shined brightly. Chaos could only wonder what the cube would do next as he dashed away from the horde of enemies. He would need a better vantage point to continue the battle and he did not relish being caught between his companions and the viral armada.
Summary:
1. Satellite Impact ~ Lower accuracy to DBLCubeA, (80) as free action next turn.
2. AreaGrab to teleport behind Windbox
3. BigHammer1(160) to Windbox
4. DBLCube...Random effect of healing us or damaging all enemies for 30.

Gungnir looked around at the viruses surrounding him and the others as he backed up some. He was unworried, but even so, concerned that the navis around him seemed to be lagging as well. Sieg looked at the situation, and realized that his PET had yet to restore his actions, and he needed to leave. This did not bode well for him or Gungnir. And being the worrywart he was, he decided it best to try and head out.
"Gungnir, this isn't good, we're gonna get outta here! We got a prior engagement! I'll see you later old man, we should try and clash swords again later! Don't count this as a retreat, just as a temporary split! Laters!"
Gungnir turned to his teammates, not smiling nor grinning, but nodding as he said,
"Excellent fight, you are skilled warriors and I hope we may team again some day, but for now, I bid you each adieu." As he tried to jack out from the middle of the fight, thunder crackling on his body as he focused.

"Coward!" RegalMan shouted as Gungir departed. "Filth! How dare you desert your comrades-in-arms in the middle of a battle? Pathetic scum!"
An explosion turned Chaos' attention away from the fading giant of a Navi. Someone or something was firing on the horde of viruses and Navi alike. The shots were wild, Chaos doubted if the shooter was even bothering to aim, but the impacts created powerful explosions that rocked the battlefield. Dust and debris obscured his vision as he huddled down to create as small a target as possible. With any luck the mad shooter would finish the battle for the remaining duo of Navi.
Another explosion rocked the earth, this one sounding too close for comfort, and Chaos was showered with dirt and stones. He chanced a glance around him just as a larger object slumped against his shoulder. Not knowing if it was friend or foe, Chaos pulled the motionless body off of him and peered through the clouds of dust. It was TriggerMan. The gunslinger Navi was in bad shape, one arm having been severed completely, and his data was slowly dispersing into a fine mist.
"I say, old chap." RegalMan whispered. "You certainly look the worse for wear." He chuckled softly. "It doesn't look like you'll be fighting much longer. A shame that as I had so hoped to be the one to end your pathetic existence."
"...Go to hell," the pale poncho-wearing figure croaked hoarsely. "I was right about you.... you son-of-a-bitch."
"Oh...Have you finally figured it out?"
"Chaos, wasn't it? Or...NaviMan?"
"La ha! What perception! I applaud you. It is too bad that knowledge won't be of any use to you in the afterlife."
RegalMan drew his sword, the explosions masking the soft rasp of blade against sheathe. He raised the sword above his head, obsidian blade poised above TriggerMan's chest. He moved to thrust the blade downward just as a gloved hand raised a shining six-shooter. A softer explosion ripped through the air and pain filled RegalMan's shoulder. The Navi fell back, clutching at the fresh wound.
TriggerMan propped his head up, steely gaze staring down the barrel of his six-shooter. Who knew the mortally wounded Navi had the strength left to even lift his cannon? Crimson sparks danced along RegalMan's blade, the sparks moving in tune with the smoke rising from the barrel of TriggerMan's gun. Both Navi stared into each other's eyes, Trigger's steely gaze meeting the wild, crimson spark that writhed within Regal's eyes. A soft whistle rose above the sounds of battle. It was a funeral dirge, an ode to the valiant. Both Navi faced off against each other, neither one making a move, and then there was one. A final explosion ripped the earth asunder, taking the remains of Triggerman with it.
RegalMan blinked, a look of genuine surprise locked on his face. It looked like the Dame was rolled the dice once more and it had been in evil's favor. He straighted, sheathing his blade and staring around the battlefield. Luck was on his side. The smoke finally lifted, revealing the scattered remains of the virus army. Perhaps he wasn't as lucky as he had thought.
"Bloody hell!" RegalMan cursed. "My comrades are defeated or scattered and here I am to face a viral contingent all on my own. Well..." The disguise faded to reveal Chaos' true form. "At least I don't need to hide my pleasure any more."
Crimson bolts of energy cascaded down the ivory bones that crafted Chaos' armor. The Navi dashed forward, slashing at the closest virus with his razor sharp claws. He was laughing wildly, though he knew that he was heavily outmatched. There was too many viruses remaining and he lacked the resources to finish them all off.
"Fool!" Chaos called out to Rayth. "Send me some BattleChips quickly!"
"We are almost out of chips and there is no end in sight for these viruses. Perhaps we should run?"
"What? Run and hide with my tail between my legs like some dog? That giant may be a coward, but I have no such failings. There is no chance that I will run from a pathetic rabble such as this."
"Fine. I don't care if you do get deleted. Just keep your head in the game."
"Do not proceed to lecture me, weakling!"
A blast of crimson light caught Chaos full in the chest. The Navi was knocked off his feet, but he rose quickly. He growled, baring his fangs as he ran down the offending DBLCube. He backhanded the virus, its crimson hue fading to a deep blue as it attempted to flee. Chaos ignored the cube and turned to the next closest virus, slashing twice at the injured tank creature.
"Haha! Run cowards! I shall kill you all twice over for your impudence."
Another explosion rocked the battlefield, a searing pain ripping into Chaos' back. The Navi fell to his knees, a thin mist of blood spewing from his mouth as he coughed. He shook his head to clear his vision and glanced back at his newest opponent. Before him stood a ghostly Navi clad in armor of silver and gold. A golden cape billowed in the wind and the armor seemed untouched by the grim of the battlefield. In the Navi's hands was a magnificent cannon capped with a snarling dragon's maw as a barrel. The Navi's face held only sadness as he stared deep into Chaos' eyes.
"It...It can't be..." Chaos stammered as he stared at the Navi. His memory was slowly coming back to him. "To....Tobalis?"
"Tobalis?" Rayth asked with a pique in curiosity. "You know him..."
"Know him....I AM HIM!"
"What?" Rayth asked, but he went unanswered.
Chaos pushed himself to his feet, his legs wobbly under the stress of battle and the pain that was burning in his back. He stared at the Navi, noticing things that he had missed at first glance. The edges of the cape were frayed, but not by design, and it seemed that sections of the gold and silver armor were missing. This was not the real Tobalis. This was some left over shell. The remnants of a Navi deleted and consumed long, long ago.
"Heh...So you are all that is left of what I used to be? The coward who's own fears led to his destruction? And in the end you lost everything...Your woman, your "friends", your soul and even your very body...Lost them all to me. Have you come to kill me then? Take your best shot you worthless bastard!"
The remnant of Tobalis raised the dragon headed weapon, a cannon that Chaos knew as the DragonFire CrossBow. It had been a powerful weapon during his former life, though he had gained abilities with far more destructive power. Still, the searing flames of the weapon would be more than enough to vaporize his current form with a direct hit.
A globe of golden flame formed within the CrossBow as the silent, expressionless wisp of data took aim. Tobalis' goal was to kill Chaos, to end the final reminder of his evil deeds. His only thought was to forever atone for his mistakes. He fired the cannon.
Chaos dodged to the left, the sphere of flames missing him by a hair's width. The searing heat melted his armor and scorched his face. He ignored the pain, though the stench of charred flesh still filled his nostrils, and charged forward. It would take time to reload the CrossBow, time that Chaos meant to use to the fullest. He thrust his clawed hands forward, intent on ripping out Tobalis' eyes, on rending him flesh from bone. The steel-lined butt of the crossbow greeted him instead.
Chaos fell back, blood now streaming from his nose as well as his mouth. He growled, the sound seeming more like a gurgle than anything else, and charged forward again. Crimson bolts of energy swirled around him as he leaped over the armored figure. He twisted in midair, thrusting his claws once more to impale the remnant in the back.He twisted his claws, attempting to inflict as much damage as possible. Lines of crimson energy pumped through his claws and into Tobalis, Chaos intent on using his command over gravity to rip the Navi apart.
The remnant made no sound, no inclination that he felt any pain at all. He twisted around, dislodging Chaos from his back and brought the DragonFire CrossBow to bare once more. Point blank range with no chance to dodge, the massive sphere of flames exploded into Chaos' chest. The dark Navi was flung back, landing hard with smoke rising from a newly formed hole in his chest. He was defeated.
Rayth was speechless as he watched the battle ensue. Was this it? Was this the end that he had hoped for? Was the brutal Chaos final going to be destroyed? And by the remnants of his formal self? The moment was almost too good to be true as Rayth watched Chaos' data begin to unravel and fade to a fine mist.
"I'm...I'm not finished...." Chaos spat, a spray of blood punctuating every syllable. "I cannot die...By your hands...You shall learn the true meaning of...The Requiem...of the...Cosmos."
Chaos struggled to his feet as the inky darkness within his eyes pulsed wildly. The crimson irises seemed to fade as the cracks along the sides of his face widened. His skin was peeled back as the darkness began to consume his body. His flesh tore open to reveal a shadowy figure underneath, a creature born from an unadulterated darkness. Chaos' skin and armor melted away to leave a humanoid creature comprised entirely of inky darkness. He almost seemed like a glass tube filled with ink shaped like a man. Wisps of black flames sprouted from his head, elbows and shoulders. Twin spheres of crimson flames formed to create his eyes as waves of crimson energy cascaded down his body to outline his muscles and sinew.
"I am the embodiment of the death of the universe..." The creature spoke with two distinct voices, one was that of Chaos' and the other was much deeper and far more sinister. "It is I who proclaims who lives and who dies."
With a wave of his hand, the remaining horde of viruses began to shudder. Their bodies began to snap and compact as though a massive hand was crushing them. Each virus rose in the air and hovered there, yelping in agony before being disappearing in a spray of blood and data. The entity once known as Chaos laughed mirthlessly as he witnessed the show of his power.
"Dare you challenge me?" It spoke once again to the remnant, but it received no answer. "Hah. Then die!"
The creature raised its hand, the remnant rising into the air. The creature began to slowly clench its fist, crushing the body of the remnant with massive gravitic force. The only response was the sound of snapping bones and tearing ligaments. Blood trickled from the remnant's mouth and nose, its eyes becoming bloodshot from the strain. Soon, it too would be dead.
"No..." The entity stopped. "I have a use for you yet..."
It released its hold on the remnant, the broken Navi slumping forward, but still hanging limply in the air. The creature strode forward, the inky blackness churning as it approached the remnant's body. Tendrils of darkness shot out of the darkness and enveloped the remnant, pulling the broken body into the entity. The two forms fused to one as the entity chuckled softly.
"What....What the hell is going on?" Rayth yelled. His plans were fast becoming obsolete.
The entity turned to gaze toward the sky, its fiery eyes staring deep into Rayth's. It raised its hand toward the sky, along the invisible line that connected it with Rayth's PET.
"Begone." It said as it clenched its fist. "I no longer have a need for one such as you."
The entity sent a surge of data running into the PET. The small device began to go haywire, the screen fluctuating and a loud buzzing sound ripped through the air. Rayth through the PET to the ground, seconds before the device exploded with resounding force. The NetOp had lost control of his Navi....Had lost the chance to end Chaos' life once and for all. The homicidal Navi was more powerful than ever and was free to stalk the Net once more.
