Once again in the ACDC

Cypher pushed himself up from his crouch, his invisibility shedding from him like a cloak. The Navi nodded silently at his partner's observation. The effect of the two Guard BattleChips was telling; either the bug themed Navi was dealing less damage with its weaponry, or it had some sort of buffer that protected it from their attacks. Judging by the armored thorax, Cypher was betting on the second option. Still, it couldn't hurt to be cautious when dealing with an unknown foe.

"Alright," Cypher muttered. "Enjolie, we'll start off simple. Send me the cannon and I'll move on from there."

"Alright," Enjolie nodded in agreement. "Let's test our firepower against his armored side."

Cypher drew his pistol from its holster before crouching low to the ground to steady his aim. The bug Navi was fast, but Cypher had been designed for taking out high flying targets. He held the pistol in both hands with his left knee on the ground and his right leg bent out in front of him. He took aim at his target, keeping the bug dead in his sights as the BattleChip data charged up within the gun's plasma core. Cypher waited for Bard to spring her trap, hoping that the bug would be caught in the net and held. The trap would make it easier for Cypher to hit his target, though he was confident enough in his aim that he was sure he would hit the bug with or without Bard's aid.

Cypher squeezed the trigger, the pistol emitting a thin beam of silver energy that raked across the battlefield toward the flying bug Navi. If Cypher's aim was true, the beam would blast into the Navi and Cypher would be able to get a good reading on whether or not the Navi's armored exoskeleton would protect it from gunfire.

Cypher lowered his gun and readied his shield, the oval of energy forming from the beam emitter located on the Navi's right arm. He held the shield in front of him, ready to repel any retaliation by the bug while he examined its weaknesses.

Insectman kept launching himself at the Flyswatter, opening his mouth wide, probably in preparation for a health drain, but Bard's dodge spells moved her swiftly out of the way.

The illusions and invisibility were dispelled, and the opponent was more confused than ever, "Bzz"ing quite frantically. This gave Bard time to wrap him up with musical chains and for Cypher to let loose some Cannon fire on him before putting up a shield.

Apparently the chains wouldn't have much effect on Insectman's attacking as a giant Arrow appeared out of his mouth.

"Well that worked out better than I expected," Leo said while watching the results of the attacks. "At least now we know that his chips are damaged differently, not that he takes less damage. That's very important." Leo looked over his chips to think of what to do use next. Seeing as the enemy was held, getting a good shot in with the firehit would be lovely. Bard still has a dodge prepared, so a defensive process attack or spell won't be needed. "Here is the firehit and shotgun spell. Lets take this moment to just wail on him." Leo slotted in the chips and leaned back to look around for the teacher. Hasn't returned yet, thank god.

Bard got the chip data, and sent the firehit to her raven once more. The raven was more than ready to hit this wood navi while he is being held. The raven started to uploaded the data for the chip and flew into the air while doing it. It spread its wings at the top of its arc, and let out a mighty caw as it caught fire. It lowered the flaming ebony eyes down upon the bound target, and took a swift dive bomb to slam into the elemental navi. It hit the ground hard after its attack, and then started to fly back into the air. It was smoking and hovering over Bard, waiting for the actions of the strange bug navi with an arrow in its mouth.

Bard looked at the Arrow oddly and thought for a second about what to do. She still had a part of her 8th note dodge spell ready, and should be able to easy avoid whatever this guy was about to throw at her. She decided to take the action that Leo had decided to do for her. The piccolo reached her lips and began singing its song for the shotgun spell. The quick fast paced spell was high notes and each one was sharp and piercing. Bard brought the piccolo to her eye line and closed her left eye to carefully target the enemy. She fired the attack, letting the pellets from the attack sprawl towards the bug. Bard set the piccolo back in her lap, with the piccolo showing no signs of the shotgun chip. Bard looked to Cypher and said, "We should be able to easily damage him, but still avoid getting hurt. I can maybe tie him down again after that spell is ready again." Bard turned her attention back to the enemy, and waited to see how the attacks landed.

Cypher nodded slightly as he gazed at his opponent over the brim of his shield. The cannon fire had done its job, smashing into the bug Navi with its full force. Obviously, the enemy Navi didn't have any particular defenses; at least none that were currently active. Cypher holstered his pistol and raised himself to a crouch.

"Send me the DashAttack data," Cypher said to Enjolie.

"Sure thing," the NetOp responded. "But be careful."

The Navi could feel the energy rushing through his body, changing his legs to include rocket boosters in order to propel him across the battlefield at high speeds. He waited for Bard to attack, the bird unleashing a barrage of flames while Bard fired a blast from her piccolo.

"We should be able to easily damage him, but still avoid getting hurt. I can maybe tie him down again after that spell is ready again." Bard said after she fired her shotgun.

"Careful," Cypher responded. "This Navi is like an animal and beasts are far more dangerous when cornered."

Cypher hoisted his shield, prepared to use it like a battering ram. He didn't like the arrow positioned in his opponent's mouth, unsure of what abilities it held. He trusted that his shield would protect him, but it wasn't a guarantee. Still, he pushed himself to his feet and charged forward. He leaped into the air, the boosters now present on his legs activating to send him hurdling through the air toward the bug Navi. Cypher positioned himself so that he would come at his opponent head on. He held the shield ahead of him, prepared to accept the arrow shot on his shield and then smash forward. If all went well, Cypher planned to leave the bug Navi nothing more than a smear on his shield, like a bug squashed on the windshield of a speeding car.

Suffice to say, there wasn't much Insectman could do as his opponents wailed on him, but even through Bard's dodge spells, the arrow clipped her shoulder pretty badly.

With a dramatic buzz, he broke out of his restraints and prepared for another attack.

Bard looked to her teammate as he fired off the next few attacks. "Bard," Leo said over private chat as usual, "Cypher is going to run out of chips soon. He doesn't have much left before he must engage in close combat. We should try to preserve his chips as much as possible. We are going to have to do a lot of the work her."

Bard nodded in agreement as she watched the bug rip himself from the guitar string bonds. Her eyes moved around to Cypher, holding his defensive shield in place. An idea came to her. "Cypher, you don't have too many chips left. We should save yours for as long as possible. Get in front of me and defend me while I attack. You should also use a chip this turn! We can't have you run out of chips!" Bard hoped she didn't sound too demeaning to her ally, but it was true. We weren't going to finish this in just a few more moments.

Leo sat back and thought momentarly while Bard gave her idea to Cypher. Bard is getting more battle intelligent now. Which is good indeed. What gives the most damage and most accuracy here? Leo quickly grabbed the Dashattack chip and slotted it in. Next he threw in the remaining shotgun and the boomerang chip. "Bard combine these with the directors baton process upgrade attacks this turn." Leo finished slotting in the chips and turned his eyes from the screen to look for the professor, still not back yet thankfully. He slowly turned his eyes back to the screen, not enjoying the idea of Bard having none of her defensive spells in place.

Bard sent the dashattack chip to her raven and kept the other two for herself. The raven was the first to attack with his dash attack. The target was still fairly close from the attacks before, and should easily be in range to tag the nasty navi with its own bug squishing attack. The bird let its wings expand and grow as the chip activated within its system. The bird beak also changed to a long sharp instrument meant on piercing the bug. Both of the transformed areas took on a steel appearance as the bird dash downwards from the air and swooped in at incredible speeds on the insect below.

After finishing the attack and sheding the steel wings, the bird waitied for its next attack. Bard prepared her first one in the mean time. The shotgun chip was ready to be used. She pulled the piccolo to her lips and played the song meant for the attack. As she did so, she could feel the pellets of damaging data building up in her piccolo. She took aim, holding the piccolo by her mouth piece, and bressed one of the piccolos many buttons for playing the instrument. As she did so, the attack fire from the tip, ad was sent flying towards the enemy.

Next Bard began playing her piccolo for the boomerang attack. As she played the earthy calm meldoy, the piccolo began to chang in shape in size to refelect that of the chip she was using. The sound of her instrument wasn't impacted at all by the change of form the instrument was taking on. Once the spell was finished, Bard held in her hands a silver metal boomerang, that had the strecthed out features of a piccolo. She pulled it back in her right hand, and carefully took aim on the insect before her. She threw the boomerang with all her strengh. She sat back up, and watched as the boomerang was returning back to her hand. Now it was the Raven's turn again

The raven swooped down low on the target, and hovered slightly above his head. He began a horrible transformation that massively changed the birds apperance, but took very little time. The black mist erupted from the legs of the Raven as they melded together, forming the handle of the baton. The wings of the bird shot out, and were popped and cracked into a positon with the tips points above the ravens head. This became the baton. Finally, the baton had a tail feather of the bird the end of its handle. The Raven Baton didn't look exactly like a baton, but a more organic form that has been compressed. The raven moved in and began to give a quick simple direction to the insect navi. Then it attemtped to touch him. If it happened, insectman should be sent backwards a very good distance from the impact. The Raven transformed back to normal and hovered in the air, waiting.

Bard gulped as she was done attacking, being unable to keep doing actions for a bit. She hoped Cypher would cover her now, it would be good to get a nice session of damage in on the target again. Leo even turned his eyes away from the screen, not wanting to watch.

Cypher landed on his feet, the boosters disintegrating into a black mist. The Navi turned to face his opponent, a shotgun materializing in his shield hand as Enjolie slotted in another battlechip. Cypher held the gun in both hands, energy shield emitting from his arm humming softly. The Navi took aim, sighting the buzzing insect Navi and adjusting his aim to be maximize his chances of shooting down his swift opponent. Cypher squeezed the trigger, the shotgun roaring to life as it released a hailstorm of buckshot. The blast ripped across the battlefield toward its target, threatening to shred Insectman if it connected.

"So I'm your shield, eh?" Cypher mused as he dropped his gun. "I suppose it is for the best. I don't relish the idea of engaging this thing in close quarters combat."

The Navi hefted his shield, the oval of silver energy fluctuating slightly in response to his movements. He had yet to take a hit from the insect-like Navi, so his shield was still at full strength. If it came down to it, the energy shield held more than enough energy to absorb a few of his opponent's strikes.

Cypher moved, his steps taking him across the battlefield to stand at his comrade's side. Bard let loose her shotgun barrage, the digital pellets exploding out of the Navi's piccolo to soar toward the bug Navi. Cypher strafed to stand in front of Bard as she lowered her piccolo. He raised his shield guarding himself and his companion from the bug's onslaught.

The Navi watched his opponent's movements, ready to move to place himself between the insect's attacks and Bard's vulnerable frame. It wasn't the most glorious job, but it would allow the songstress to go all out while Cypher would be able to conserve his limited ammunition. The shield hummed louder as Cypher poured more energy into it. He didn't know what to expect from the bug Navi's arsenal, but he knew he had to be ready.

"I hope this works," Cypher muttered under his breath. "Or else we' might both be in for a world of hurt." The Navi paused a second before continuing in a louder voice. "Despite this act of conservation, I still only have the vulcan and the bomb left before I have to resort to using my melee battlechip. We'll need to drop this guy hard and fast."

The fight continued. Bard's Raven went on a straight on Dash Attack which Insectman swerved to dodge as he charged at the two, the attack passing straight ahead as the buzzing menace loaded two small bombs in his hand.

Cypher and Bard took up a Shotgun each and fired with precise accuracy while Insectman lobbed two bomb in quick succession at Bard, who was quickly defended by Cypher and his Data Shield.

Taking this chance, Bard turned her piccolo into a Boomerang and sent it flying at Insectman. Noticing this, Insectman let out a ear-piercing screech and summoned a swarm of locusts to defend himself, eating up the Boomerang and rendering it useless. The locusts charged, one swarm crashing into the Data Shield, destroying it, and the other two burning at Bard and Cypher both.

Bard had her Raven transform into a Director's Baton, which proceeded to knock Insectman back, causing him to "Bzz" in irritation.

Bard swatted away at the damaging insects as they attacked her. She brushed her hair back from her eyes after doing so and looked at the enemy out ahead of her. "This is getting frustrating," Bard said disgruntled. She looked to her ally ahead of her to see if the shield had held up. It hadn't lasted through all of the attacks. Dammit She watched as her raven hover above the navi, and turned her attention back to insectman. "This bug is starting to truely bother me here," Bard said to Cypher.

"Bard," Leo chimed in over a private chat as usual, "He isn't taking enough damage to avoid having to attack him in combat. We are going to have to engauge this guy sooner or later. Cypher doesn't have much of a choice in the matter at the current time."

"I am aware," Bard responded to Leo. Bard was still disgusted by the mere existence of this navi. She would be more than willing to delete this guy in close. Even if it would be her raven in there, not acutally her. "Cypher, we don't have much of an option here, we are going to have to engauge this guy hand to hand." Bard looked back at the bug to watch him making his buzzing noise to himself while she spoke with Cypher. "Lets fire what we can and then attack him in combat." Bard turned the private chat back on with Leo to ask for some chips. Leo slotted them in, with what good selection they had left, and looked back to the door. After seeing no teacher in sight still he looked back to the screen.

Bard recieved the chip data and processed as needed. She sent the sword chip to her Raven, and kept the two zap rings for herself. Lets get this started, hopefully with a few more tatical movements and attacks we can finish this guy. Bard thought to herself as she pulled the bongo into her lap. Bard carefully positioned the bongo and layed a hand on each face of the instrument. She played a beat that was simple and lively. At first the beat seemed as a stand alone song, as the beat went on however the notes could clearly be heard as reapeating sounds. Bard was playing the Da Capo Process Attack. Once the song was finished the two large repeate signs formed around her. Bard began to shuffle above, creating illusions of herself in the making of being shifted by the repeate signs. Once the spell was finished Bard was in a new location, with her two decoys near to her. Her raven also had decoys around it.

Bard wasted no time pulling the bongo in for another spell as she uploaded the two zapring chips at once. She tapped out a fast beat with seemingly no pattern to it. As she did so, sparks began to arise from the drum's face. Each one of the faces was being entergized by the sound of her song. Soon the two faces disconnected themselves from the bongo, and were hovering in the air. Bard took that advantage to look up at insectman and smirked. "This should slow you up a bit." She grabbed a bonog face and threw it at the insectman. Following closely was the other of the bongo faces. At least one of them should hit. Bard thought.

Once Bard had thrown the two zaprings, the Raven began to upload the sword data. It had been a long while since the Raven had used this chip. it let out a more exicted caw as the data flowed through it. The black mist poured from the face of the bird as the beak extended and flattened. It sharpened to a perfect edge on both sides, and most of the jaw had also been used in the expansion of the sword chip. The Raven's wings grew larger to reflect the change in weight distrubition. It looked down upon insectman and swooped down, waving its head around in the process. The Raven aimed to slash insectman, hopedully greatly hurting him, starting the process of his fall.

The three Bard's watched as the Raven and talked to Leo over private chat. "Hopefully this will deal enough damage to him to where engauging in close combat won't come right away."

"Let us hope so," Leo answered back.

"Bah," Cypher muttered as he scanned his opponent carefully.

The insect Navi has managed to dodge one of Bard's attacks and blocked another with its swarm of locusts. The insect had taken far less damage than Cypher had hoped it would with Bard's all out attack. Cypher growled in irritation. He had precious few battlechips left, his vulcan, a bomb and a melee claw. He wasn't the best at melee combat and wanted to avoid it if possible. However, he doubted that he would be afforded such a luxury.

"I am just as irritated," Cypher responded to his partner before addressing his NetOp. "Enjolie, send me the vulcan and the bomb. We'll do what we can with those chips and only engage the target in close quarters if all else fails."

"Got it," the NetOp responded.

"Let's squash this bug."

The Navi felt the familiar surge of energy that always accompanied his battlechips. He drew his pistol, power overflowing from the small plasma weapon in the form of a bright silver light. Cypher took aim at the bug Navi, tracking its movements as it flew around the battlefield. He timed his attack to coincide with Bard's shocking drum solo.

"Eat this, you bug-eyed freak," Cypher muttered.

He squeezed the trigger, a hailstorm of silver needles ripping through the air toward the bug. Cypher wasn't sure if all of the small projectiles would hit, but he didn't need them to. He aimed at the bug's face, hoping to use the hail of energy blasts to distract it and prevent it from dodging Bard's zaprings or stop it from summoning another insect swarm.

Cypher holstered the pistol and strafed to his right. He moved away from Bard and her decoys, not wanting to give away Bard's true position or to be in the line of fire when the insect retaliated. He circled around to his opponent's side, hoping to flank the strange Navi and catch it between Bard's firepower and his own.

Cypher released the next surge of battlechip energy, a small metallic sphere appearing in his grasp. He primed the bomb, flooding the glass cylinder with florescent liquid with a quick twist of each half of the sphere. Cypher took aim, stalling a few moments and he mentally counted down the left before the explosion. With a few seconds to go, he lobbed the bomb. With luck, the metallic sphere would explode as it neared the bug, catching it in the blast radius without giving it the time to dodge away.

"Come on," Cypher called out. "Let's end this thing."

As Bard prepares her Decoys, Insectman slams his fist into the ground, summoning an assortment of piercing wooden pillars at the navis. The attacks hit, dispelling the decoys, but the duo goes in undeterred, Bard blasting off the first Zapring, which Insectman dodges erratically, placing him in the direct path of Cypher's vulcan shots.

He's hit by the second Zapring, which doesn't give an immediate stun effect, but it seems he slowed down. He takes the full force of Cypher's LilBomb but releases a WhiteWeb at his opponents just before Bard slashes him across the chest.

He seems really paralyzed at the moment, but his Whiteweb made it's mark! Bard can't move for the moment, but she could try getting out of this white, stringy mess holding her down somehow. It's up to Cypher to continue close-range combat.

A smile crossed over Bard's face as she saw one of the zaprings hit the target as needed, even if her decoys were gone. She turned to Cypher and said, "Good, now we should be able to finish this battle." It turns out Bard spoke too soon for when she turned her attention back to the insect to find herself ensnared in a webbing he threw at her. Bard yelped in fear as she struggled against the web. It wasn't budging or moving around at all, in fact her movements and fighting against it was making it worse.

"Bard, you have to stop struggling! You don't even be able to be freed if you don't stop moving now! Call you bird over and cut yourself out, bring it back together!" Leo said to her trying to help calm her down. He knew his navi, and he knew she was on the verge of giving in to her emotions. He pulled he chip pile closer to him and looked through them all. Not much left. Let see how this works out.

Bard quickly called her Raven over to her side to free her from the webbing. She was still in a panic as she waited for the bird to free her. The raven flew in close and hovered over the entangled navi. He looked carefully over the webs and found the best place to cut, and quickly did so. Bard commanded him to cut once more, for she was desperate to be free from it webs. The bird cut in another place, before turning its attention back to Insectman. Bard started to tear and fight against the webbing, trying to fully free herself.

"Damn it all," Cypher muttered under his breath as Bard struggled to free herself from the entangling webbing.

Cypher paused for a moment, planning the best course of action. He could aid Bard in freeing herself, but that would leave them both open to the insect Navi's attacks. He could attack Insectman and draw him away from Bard, but he was out of ranged battlechips and would be forced to take the battle to his opponent with his RageClaw. Either way, he would be in the line of Insectman's fire with very little in the way of defense.

"No help for it," Cypher whispered. "The best defense is a powerful offense."

"What was that?" Enjolie asked.

"Nothing, just send me the RageClaw."

"The RageClaw? Are you sure?"

"There's no choice. It is all we have left."

"Alright, good luck."

Cypher felt the surge of power as Enjolie slotted in their final battlechip. Strength flooded his systems, his digital muscle mass fluctuating and expanding to massive proportions. The armor around his fingertips lengthened and thinned down to sharp points, forming metal claws that could rend flesh and bone alike. The Navi wasn't the most proficient at close quarters combat, but he didn't have much of a choice. In order to protect Bard and keep himself from being deleted, he would have to take Insectman down hard.

Cypher dashed forward, bent low and letting his RageClaw imbued arm drag behind him. He strafed to the left as he moved, charging in a broken run to make himself a more difficult target. He didn't want to get trapped like Bard and become unable to attack. As he neared his opponent, Cypher slashed with his claws. His swipe sliced through the air in a diagonal slash, hoping to rip through Insectman's armored exoskeleton.

A second swipe, this one a raking backhand aimed at Insectman's face, followed the first. Cypher was hoping to blind the Navi, or at least render him senseless. If he could keep Insectman occupied long enough for Bard to free herself, there was a chance they could end the battle quickly.
