"Uh..." Sketi's right eye twitched as she stared at the opposing Navi. "Well Karin? What now?" The NetOp rocked on the sink counter as she thought. While she was annoyed at having wasted the Guard chip she wasn't going to pass up a chance for a free shot.
"Alright, you'll give him what he wants! Go give him a hug." Karin grinned impishly as she slotted in the Rageclaw and listened to Sketi's dismayed squawk.
"What?! Are you ser-oh-OH." The Navi straightened and grinned as well as she received the chip data, a little slow in getting what her partner wanted. "Alright! One slightly painful hug coming up Mr. Bubble!" She gave her arms a flick to the side as four petals detached and dove into her lower arm, melting down in a rush of pastels to reform into her claws.
Sketi grinned and winked at Blubby, the action going unseen under her visor though the 'come here' movement she made with her claws was perfectly visible. Whether he moved forward or not she rushed to him, trying to slash his more tangible pieces as she wrapped her arms around him. She stepped back, miming blowing him a kiss before slashing at his arm.

"Alright!" The claws melted away and reformed into the petals with dove into the data happily. "We're glad thats over, though we do feel bad taking advantage of him..." Sketi trailed off, holding her arms up to examine where they'd touched the now jacked out Navi.
"You didn't have a choice and he shouldn't've been in our toilet." Karin said evenly, sliding in a blank chip and then sliding it out when the Bubbler data downloaded. The zenny was transfered to the slowly growing account, to be used eventually as upgrades and the like for Sketi. Karin stood up to peer into the upper part of the toilet again after stowing the chips in her PET case, a worried look on her face. "Its not stopping, keep looking for now." She settled back onto her perch with a noisy squeak and a wince.

Sketi had been looking for viruses, and she'd found them alright. Not long after the last fight another group leapt out of hiding, prepared to stop her so they could continue the wrecking of the toilet's net. "Hey Kaaaariiin! We've got some flaming stoves and some weird tank things, whaddya want us to do?"
"Try out the new chip on the stoves and stab something with this. Dodge the attacks of the tanks, after we've seen 'em in action we should have a better idea of how to handle them." Karin replied, already slotting in the Bubble and Pulsar chips. She started squirming in her seat then caught herself, crossing her legs at the ankles.
"Alright, we'll give it a shot!" Sketi was quite enthusiastic, the bubble-man hadn't been much of a struggle for her and these were just normal viruses. Surely she'd do at least as well as she had last time. Linky gleamed with chip data as the faint crackling static started up once more. The oval warrior surveyed the fight and prepared to take action.
"Okay, here we go!" She took a deep breath, and concentrated, holding her hands out in front of her in a cupped gesture. She wasn't sure what to expect but something told her that was the first step. It seemed to be the key too, the half-spheres floated forwards after the light from the chips temporarily disappeared. The petals were left stationary as the halves formed a ball then dropped into the Navi's hands. Sketi watched from her visor as the pastel colors began whirling around, mixing and blurring 'til they formed a grey color.
"Eww...it looks like sludge." Her nose wrinkled up as the ball flashed twice before its color faded into a grey transparency. Sketi closed her eyes and muttered a prayer before delivering the ball to the enemies with an underhand toss.
The sphere flew much better then Sketi thought it would even if the aim was a bit off, and she cracked an eye open to see it fly not towards her intended target but one over, cracking open and delivering a burst of water to the one next to it as well. The halves hovered for a moment before launching themselves back to their master, their regular color and form returning in-flight.
"That worked out well." Sketi eyed Linky out of the corner of her eyes, suddenly feeling a tad uneasy with her own custom weapon. "Anyways, Pulsar's turn!" She quickly shoved the feeling away and returned her attention to the opponents.

Sketi staggered when she landed, looking at where the Kabutank's attack had missed. "Ah...just a little slower and it would've gotten us. Anyways, whaddya want us to do, Karin? How should we attack?"
"Shotgun to both then throw them around." The raincoat wearing teen slid the Shotgun and Rageclaw chips into her Pet, scrolling out her view of the battle so she was no longer zoomed in on the viruses.
"Understood! We'll blast'em and thrash'em!" Sketi snapped a quick salute with the wrong hand before holding her left out in front of her. Linky shined bright enough to hurt eyes for a second before dimming down to acceptable levels. The bases of the wires on the Navi's back gleamed brightly, the light suddenly racing along the cables and into her neck. The lower part of her left arm began to glow too, the details whiting out with the light as they shifted into the shape of her shotgun. "Heey viruses! Wanna play tag?" Sketi called as she took aim then fired, her arm shifting back to normal immediately after.
Sketi gave her arm a shake and smirked. Two petals from each half of Linky floated forwards, twirling slowly as they hovered above her lower arms with twisting colors dancing across. They suddenly stop, orange flashing across the surface just before they dove downwards, stabbing into Sketi's arms. Her mouth twitched to one side but she watched silently as the petals melted down, reforming into pastel hued claws over her hands and lower arms. "We're it! Ready or not here we come!" The Navi launched herself towards the first Kabutank, claws reaching to dig themselves into its sides for a better grip. She attempted to fling it at its fellow then rushed towards the second, trying to pick it up as well and fling it back at the first Kabutank. "Smush!"

Sketi gave a cheer as the viruses dissolved into fragments, the static from Linky slowly fading away. "Alright, we're done with this fight." She glanced down at her hands, an annoyed scowl appearing on her face. "Heey, Linky-petals. We're /done/." She game her arms a shake, trying to somehow dislodge the claws that were still there.
"Hmm...don't worry about the claws for now, gather the leftovers and keep going." Karin pulled p a few status screens as she spoke, narrowing her eyes at the information on the Pet's screen. "It's possible it's just lag."

"Karin! Bunnies, some more ghosts, and odd-colored Metools showed up!" Sketi shouted, cupping one claw around her mouth. She wasn't sure if Karin could hear her over the static, it Linky had started in with a vengeance just before she had actually spotted the viruses. "Our hands still look like we're using rageclaw too!"
"Ugh..." Karin gritted her teeth and scrolled over to the virus group on her Pet, taking a look at their health before scrolling back to Sketi. She suddenly paused and pulled up a few status screens. "It says Rageclaw data is no longer in use, I think the graphics are just lagging a bit. I'll send more chip data to see if we can't unblock it." The Operator grinned in delight as she slid in Bubbler and Guard, hopefully she wouldn't have to waste a chip. "Go after the rabbits first."

Sending new chip data seemed to break through the 'clog', as the parts of Linky by her ears glowed so did the claws. After a moment they shattered, the pieces falling towards the floor below. They hit the ground and splashed into a puddle, reforming into the four missing petals before flinging themselves up to the rest of the system.
The two half-sphere floated forwards now, joining into a ball and shifting color so quickly they once more blurred into the gray-green color. When the colors stopped blending the ball dropped into her hand, light flashing across it as it gained a kind of semi-transparency. Sketi shifted the ball into her right hand and closed her fingers around it, pulling her arm back before flinging it at the first Bunny. The sphere burst open, drenching her target and the look-alike next to it with water.
"Alright, keep it up." Sketi frowned when Karin talked, putting one hand on the side of her helmet.
"Heey! We can barely hear you! We'll keep going though." The Navi turned towards the opponents and gestured with her fingers, the half-balls flying back as the petals drifted in front of her. The petals lined themselves up in front of her. The Navi shifted her weight to her right foot, ready to dart out of the way if an attack passed the barrier.

By firing just a moment before the bunnies went hopping all over the place, Sketi manages to line up a shot and take two of them down with a bubbler. A Spooky tries licking her shield, which backfires. Then one of the Mets sets off a shockwave, which Sketi manages to sidestep, though it does get pretty close.

Sketi glanced at the shockwave's path as it raced by, relieved at the miss but still worried. "Hey Karin that was a little close! Can we deal with one of the funny colored Metools now?" Linky shifted through various pastel colors as it returned to its usual position. Karin didn't reply for a little while, checking over the unused chips before selecting two more.
"Alright, Pulsar for a MetoolEX and Shotgun for the Bunny and a ." The Netop slid in the chips and fiddled around with various status windows on the Pet, already trying to plot out the next course of action.
"Gotcha, thanks for the reprieve!" Sketi returned her attention back to the virus group and held her hands out in front of her, palms facing but not touching. Linky shined with chip data as Sketi scrolled between her current options in her head. After a little debate she finally settled on the one she already thought of as a favorite move and grinned. Light creeped up the quartet of wires as the newer of the two chips were selected, prodding two petals forwards. They slipped between Sketi's hands, narrowing the distance between them until they merged. The shape contracted into a ball before twisting into a larger version of the petals and humming slightly. Sketi raised her eyes from the weapon between her hands and gave her fingers a flick towards the Metool, the chip-charged petal flinging itself towards a spot between the virus's eyes.
Sketi didn't wait for it to return though, she moved right on to the next part of her Op's plan. "Shotgun data uploading." She said, the tip of her tongue flicking to the side of her mouth as she concentrated on what she wanted to be her targets. The light on the cables had only begun fading away from the last chip data, now it brightened again, her arm beginning to glow as well. Sketi felt the sleeve on her left arm tighten and glanced down, raising her arm as the lower half changed shape. The Navi looked back to the viruses and reaimed. One eye slide closed then she fired, the blast jerking her arm up and back.
"Hah! We think we've got it!" She called to Karin, eyeing the viruses. Her arm shifted back to its usual shape as the petals from the Pulsar chip unmerged and zip-zagged back. Sketi grinned and licked her lips before setting off in a run around the virus group. "Hey hey you you! Come an' get us!" She called, waving a hand to the viruses that remained while sprinting about.

The soundwave takes out the one met and the shotgun hits not one but two opponents. The MetoolEX releases an attack from its pickaxe, but Sketi dodges it.

"Someone knows how to dance." Karin slotted in the Rageclaw chip and tapped a couple buttons. "Slash 'em up."
"Alright 'cept, why have we been constantly finishing with Rageclaw? We like using it but still.." Sketi held her arms out, wincing as four petals stabbed into her. "We're glad that only looks painful." She remarked as the petals melted into the usual pastel colored mess. It slid down from her elbows until the messes encased her arms from fingertips to elbows. There was a flash of light across the surface and substance hardened into claws.
"Its just easier to save it until the end, we can use it as much as need to clean whatever else is left up." Karin rubbed a hand on the back of her raincoat, frowning as the edge of her sleeve squeaked. "Take care of these guys and then look for another group."
"Yeah yeah, we understand." Sketi gave a sloppy salute, her hand bouncing off the front of her helmet. She settled into a crouch and grinned at what was left, eyes narrowing behind her visor. She shifted her weight then sprinted forwards, lunging for the Ghost and trying to slash through its face. She whirled to face the Metool and lunged, claws aimed for its body.

"Alright 'cept, why have we been constantly finishing with Rageclaw? We like using it but still.." Sketi held her arms out, wincing as four petals stabbed into her. "We're glad that only looks painful." She remarked as the petals melted into the usual pastel colored mess. It slid down from her elbows until the messes encased her arms from fingertips to elbows. There was a flash of light across the surface and substance hardened into claws.
"Its just easier to save it until the end, we can use it as much as need to clean whatever else is left up." Karin rubbed a hand on the back of her raincoat, frowning as the edge of her sleeve squeaked. "Take care of these guys and then look for another group."

"Alright, gather the left-over data and jack out. We're finished here for now." Karin said, scooping up the chips she'd gotten so far and dropped them in her pocket. She slid a blank chip out of the same pocket and clicked it into the Pet. She glanced at the screen and caught site of Sketi's open-mouthed shock. "What?"
"You...you can't be serious! We've only done..." The Navi took a quick count on her fingers. "Eight battles! Are you serious?" Sketi stretched her arms out to the side as she began to argue vehemently. "We're probably not even done yet! What if we go now and the job might only be half-finished!" Karin just gave her Navi a condescending smile and tapped the screen where the data pile was.
"Don't worry about that, if we have to we can always come back later. But right now I'm sick of sitting here in rain gear, I want to change back into that cute outfit I got the other day." Karin finished her turn in the conversation with a yawn, stretching her arms to the side. "Aaaaah. Much better." She slid off the counter with a squeal from her raincoat and waited for the cue to jack out Sketi.
"We can't believe you're doing this. We could be missing out on so many chips." Another attempt at reasoning with her Operator, Sketi really didn't want to be responsible if the toilet blew up, or something similar. "C'mon, we have a hunch we could last for two more fights to stabilize the network. We can't leave the Progs alone here the way it currently is!" She kept up the arguing but sent two of Linky's petals to dive into the data and absorb it anyways while her claws melted down to their regular forms. "Just two more fights, and we won't say another word about it, even if it messes up again."
"Well..." Karin paused, eyes shifting towards the moniter in the back of the toilet. "Alright, two more fights then we're going somewhere fun. Somewhere with water we actually /want/ to be in." She added, resuming her seat and sliding out the new Zapring. "Go search out your second to last fight."
"Right! We're on it!" Sketi gave a happy salute, her cheeks nearly disappearing under her helmet because of the smile. "We'll run just two more battles and then go to...hmm, we heard Yoki Net has a hot spring. Maybe we could go there?" She asked as she quickly made her way deeper into the toilet's network.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea for you, I can run some errands while you're there as well. Also...its pronounced Yoka. A not I."

Hm, but looking at the HP count, it's probably not a normal virus.

Sketi backed away from the Champu and frowned. "Heeeey Karin! Are you seeing this things health as well?" She asked nervously, half-hoping there was something wrong with her scan program.
"Yeah, and I don't like it." Karin zoomed in on the Champu and took a screenshot of it, making sure the health was in the picture too. "I'll send you Bubbler and Pulsar, dodge whatever it throws at you." The chips were slotted in and the Operator zoomed out to view the whole fight, carefully panning around the Perimeter. 'Don't want anything to sneak up on us.'
"Gotcha!" Sketi was a little relieved at her Op's quick response and cupped her hands in front of her. "We'll add our own little specialty to the bubbler, even if its not really needed." Linky shone with the power of the chip data and the half-spheres suddenly darted up, hovering over Sketi's head. They flashed orange then began to drift together, the colors blurring into the sludge-colored mix before drifting forwards. Light flashed once across the surface of the ball and it dropped into Sketi's hands. She closed her eyes tight for a moment, a pale orange creeping up from the bottom of the ball until it covered the whole thing. "Hey virus! Catch!" The Navi opened her eyes, closed a hand around the ball and pulled it back over her shoulder. Sket snapped her arm forwards, stepping frowards with one foot to keep her balance. The ball flew straight towards the virus, aiming to smack into it before bursting open.
"'kay, time for our new favorite!" Sketi held her hands in front of her, palms facing as two of the petals slid forwards. They slipped closer and closer together until they collided and merged, shifting into a larger version of their usual shape. Sketi took the new weapon between two fingers and flung it after the Bubbler, towards the virus's face. "Heey batter batter batter!" She called, cupping one hand around her mouth as she moved away from where she'd been standing and made several random changes in direction, hoping to avoid the Champu's attack.

The Champu reels back from the first attack, as it does double damage due to the element dominance. Sketi blasts her Pulsar chip, but the Champu quickly teleports out of the way, reappearing in front of Sketi, nailing her with a fiery punch, but missing its second swing as she dodges out of the way.
