Enigma only grunted as the Fishy slammed into his OTHER side-- this wasn't going to be fun. Those little mo--
Yeah, let's not get into that. What's WITH this, anyways? It seems awfully difficult for a hotel room door, Ceres sympathized. How's it going down there? he asked meekly, realizing just now that his navi was unleashing yet another stream of profuse cursing.
Painfully, Enigma groaned, looking down gingerly at his mostly-demolished torso. Severely blackened specks of data seemed to wither like near-dead flowers, wilting and some occasionally gave up all hope of life and were deleted. This gave Enigma a very zombie-like appearance, with his sides eaten away and his eyes scrunched up in pain. How the hell does a Fishy BURN me? he wondered aloud, almost sarcastically.
I can't say I know, Ceres replied, knowing that it was a rhetorical question anyways. I think this may be the toughest group, the 'boss', so after this we're jacking out, door opened or not.
That sounds just fine. So, let's get it finished up quickly, shall we? Enigma suggested.
You've got a Shotgun and a Vulcan2 coming right up. Get yourself ready to take out both Fishys in a very short period of time, Ceres said... warningly.
Gotcha, the navi replied softly, realizing suddenly that he'd stopped running quite a while ago. Deciding to resume reluctantly, he (rather slowly) jogged to a good position that lined up his aim right between the two Fishys.
Here they come, Ceres said, slotting in the Shotgun and pressing a button to put the Vulcan2 he'd just put in right after it on stand-by. Receiving the Shotgun with slightly less relish than he had his other weapons, Enigma warily hoisted it up, again too fatigued to aim manually, so he again let the computers take care of everything. Vaguely seeing a few distance-measuring devices' numbers whirl back and forth and several different crosshairs lining up the Fishys, Enigma braced himself for the inevitable recoil that firing would bring-- but nothing came.
FATAL ERROR #523. his internal computer announced, before the targeting systems shut themselves off for a good while. That bugger got my computer! Enigma exclaimed in shock, examining his injured side once more to see a few tell-tale sparks that signified damaged 'equipment'. Looks like he'd have to do it manually. So, squinting down the sights of the Shotgun, Enigma aimed directly between the two Fishys, catching just the edge of each virus' crestlike 'v' on either side of the sights. He pulled a bit too hard on the trigger for any riflery instructor to be happy with, but the energy pulse still sped in the general direction of the two viruses, which he was happy with. As the shotgun dissolved into nothingness, the Vulcan immediately replaced it, rotating barrels in the place of single tube. Moving the Vulcan slightly to the right, Enigma pulled the trigger, doing his best to keep the gatling gun down in the right firing range as the shots thundered from the whizzing barrels, each making a characteristic thum as it left the gun. The recoil, whilst not making Enigma's arm go upwards, moved it left and right between the two virii, making a nice spreading motion of the shots. Enigma groaned slightly at the sudden shock (and relief) as the Vulcan also faded into the Net, eliminating yet another option he had to win the battle. I don't really like that weapon. At all, he muttered to himself.
Nice shots, Ceres said, rewarding Enigma with one of his rare compliments.
Sure, whatever. Just get the Cannons ready, okay?
Whatever you like...
With that, Enigma began to run again, ducking his head to avoid the usual cascade of bombs and speeding Fishys that would counter his attack. This has to be the worst combination of virii that I've fought yet...

Enigma fires the shotgun and manages to hit the duo of fishy. He then fires a few rounds from his Vulcan, finishing off one target and clipping a second with the intial shot. A Kabutank fires at him but he manages to evade the attack.

Enigma frowned as the Fishy managed to survive through the cloud of bullets. I think I can use a RageClaw to take it out if I add a little bit to it, he suggested, thinking about the numbers for a second.
Yeah, that'll do thirty to the Fishy and take it out if that works, and then you'll have a 60-HP and an 80-HP Kabutank to deal with. You can probably do one of your more powerful hits on the 60 and use two cannons to finish off the 80, Ceres said in agreement. Sending you the RageClaw now, he advised, slotting in the RageClaw without a second thought.
Thanks, said Enigma, receiving the large, out-of-place-looking bear claw in a flash of light and rapidly assembling data blocks. Flexing it experimentally, Enigma suddenly began to pulse with energy. Not just adrenaline-style, but odd, otherwordly energy, which glowed a color that seemed to shift between the lightest of lavender and deepest of violets in an instant, playing some serious tricks with the eyes. The aura flowed from the tip of his head to the tips of his legs, or whatever could be seen of them-- the aura seemed to fill in the blanks for the outline, making it look like the bluish data was just filling in a rather large coloring book. Also, the aura gave Enigma some strength; the blackness and "dead" bits of data seemed to move slightly faster than before, and the worst bits dropped off and began to be replaced by others. That's much better, the oddly pulsating navi grunted, still wielding the RageClaw, which looked decidedly weird and whole among the spotty data and pulsing aura.
I wonder if we can make something that actually heals you from that...? Ceres pondered aloud, furrowing his eyebrows as he imagined the possibilities and just how cool it'd look.
I'm sure we could, Enigma agreed, narrowing his eyes a notch more as he mentally homed in on one of the Kabutanks. Ready for a ride? he asked mockingly, rushing at the slowish virus with his RageClaw outstretched readily. Once he'd gotten to the point where the Kabutank had been, at least, he did his best to hurl it at the damaged and only Fishy remaining. After this, he backed up rather nervously, still pulsing with the energy, although it felt spent for the moment, unable to boost his strength any more. Actually, on second thought, I really don't want to stay here for any more than I have to, so... he muttered, and then rushed at the Kabutank, RageClaw dissipating into nothingness just like the data on his injured side had. Roaring in anger and anticipation, Enigma did something very odd-looking; he literally turned his arms into swords! The fingers gradually conjoined into blades with small notches where the digits should have been, and the blade ran up straight along his forearm, widening as it went, until an edge stuck out just past his elbow, and the blade ended in another point. Once they'd been formed in the way he wanted, Engima took a running leap with both arms stretched out so that the blade tips formed a perfect double-point. Ending his jump in a sort of combat-roll, Enigma backed up from the battlefield a bit, not wanting to get hit by a vengeful Kabutank's bomb or the point of the Fishy he thought he'd killed.
Well, we've still got the two Cannons for the other, but apart from that, I don't think I have any chips for you, Ceres said, very informatively.
Well, then, I'll just have to aim well, now won't I?
Yes, I suppose you will...

Enigma puts a bit more omph! into his attack, and the Fishy is deleted as it slams into the tank, that is then destroyed by a blade strike from the navi. The last tank attacks but Enigma manages to evade the blast.

Well, that seems to have worked out nicely, Enigma huffed, panting slightly. Let's get this over with so you can catch some sleep and I can heal this-- Enigma grunted, pointing to his injured sides, and you can buy something nice for me afterwards. Deal?
Sounds just fine to me, Ceres agreed. We're still doing the double-cannon deal, right?
It worked just fine last time, affirmed the navi, accompanied by a nod.
Right... and if that doesn't work, what do you do then, eh? Ceres queried with a frown.
Either pummel them or pummel them, Enigma suggested mockingly. What did you think?
Right... Ceres muttered in reply, and with a somewhat wistful look, slotted in both Cannons, aiming for the same cool effect he'd managed earlier.
Thank'ee kindly, Enigma announced as the Cannon allied itself with his arm just as speedily as the RageClaw had-- that is to say, instantly. I'm going to see if I can pull this off with just enough to delete that last Kabutank, Enigma said to no one in particular, letting his purple aura fade slightly, negating the effects of it. Although the blackened bits of data on his torso still moved slightly slower than they had whilst the aura was in full effect, it didn't seem to be bothering Enigma as much as it had before. He tapped the side of the Cannon experimentally, which had no apparent reason, because standard virus-busting chips usually don't spontaneously combust, or break down, or anything like that.
Squinting down the sights just like he had with his three other guns (Vulcan, Shotgun, and Airshot), Enigma took a deep breath and held it, steadying the Cannon so that it wouldn't waver back and forth as he tried to take out the Kabutank. Once the Kabutank was deemed (in Enigma's mind) to be inside of the sights for the majority of the time, he pulled down on the trigger, exhaling sharply after the blast had been expelled from the Cannon, and it dissipated into nothingness, immediately replaced by another Cannon which looked exactly the same from the outside-- but, the sights are different! Enigma exclaimed unhappily.
Ugh. Sorry, I tried to get the long-lasting life thing, but it obviously didn't work, Ceres said apologetically.
Whatever... Enigma grumbled, reluctantly looking down the sights; these were the usual circle-and-pinprick rifle-style type, whilst the previous Cannon had had a convenient x2 hunting scope. Peering through the considerably smaller eyehole in comparison, Enigma let loose his shot when he felt it was ready, with the same sudden burst of breath once he'd fired. He watched carefully as the shot raced in the direction of the Kabutank, but then watched the skies warily, not wanting to be hit by another bomb. At least they're slow... he muttered, ready to jump at any sudden explosion in the direction he thought was out of firing range.
If that didn't work, we don't have any more chips... warned Ceres... warningly.
I'm aware of this, thanks, Enigma snapped.
