Junior and Empress

((This is your topic for the event. Post here when the confirmation is given.))
The area's sky had a flash like lightening as well as the cyber body of Empress coming down in a burst of light, but it's entry was a bit odd. Her slant was curved and aiming towards the grown in a tilt as she looked like a meteor or a plane coming in for a rough landing. It happened; her tunefully form had crashed into the cyber ground as she slid across wrecking every that was in the way. The light across her body started to give definite form as her right boot was acting like a brake pad to slow her slide across the ground. She had knocked quite the few mafia and civilians out of the way. Her body fully formed as the electric pulsed energy from jacking in came from over it and Empress was shown in a loom over her lower body as she stood up slowly and looked around with her right boot smoking.

"A rough entry...that field over the city is more trouble than I thought..." she had said as she reached for her right side of her head as she slid a finger under her hair and closed her eyes. She had reached deeply for communication link with Empress finding it difficult from this point, but she could still use the telelink plugged into both of their minds. "Entry successful, I'm ready madam Keera...so when-"

"We'll wait." Empress was taken by surprise as she had heard Keera's words that interrupted her own. She found it quite odd hearing her say that when knowing waiting would mean she would have to wait for that foolish Netnavi that had an affinity for some kind of female flirtatiousness. ""Wait? We'll wait for a plan to find profit from both sides or-"

"We'll wait for Junior." she had said as Empress had a bit of bone crushing grit come across her face from that news. "But surely we don't need help. This mission is possible even without help. We can-" Keera's eyes narrowed her eyes from the confines of her area as she had uttered bitterly in their communication. "Are you questioning my methods, again? I'm thinking after this we should give you an attitude adjustment Empress." Empress winced from that statement as she had sighed and then shook her head changing the tone of her words. "No madam. I'm sorry. I understand...we'll wait for Junior." she had replied as Keera had smiled with satisfaction.

"Good girl." she said.
Junior appeared in the net and looked around, noticing the other navi a short distance away, "Oh, hello again, Empress-san. Odd seeing you again so soon." He made a slight bow, then continued searching the area. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary so far... perhaps he hadn't plugged in at exactly the right spot, "So this is the place where all that trouble was going down, right? It appears relatively peaceful... Wes, did they give coordinates to where exactly the problem lies?"

"Let's see... all I can remember is that shit was about to hit the fan in Electown. Don't recall an exact spot." Wes said, not sure what to do, "It might not be an isolated incident. Multiple fights could be breaking out all over the area. If you wander around, I'm sure you'll find some baddie. Just better hope its not a chick."

"Yeah, seeing women getting dragged into conflict always bothers me..." Junior agreed. He then waved to Empress and then prepared to run off, "Well, keep safe, Empress-san. Things are getting ugly around here, so you should probably head to another net."

"Well I'd say he just gained a partner for this." Wes said, unheard by Junior, "Sheesh, if he had wanted her to leave he should have told her to stay. He needs to learn about reverse psychology. Someone so obsessed with strength wouldn't budge from this place after they've been treated weak.... even if the implication was unintentional."
Empress had stood alone as she had simply folded her arms and gave him that usual stare. Maybe it was most likely she hadn't forgiven him fro their previous endeavors, but she had that evil look on her face. Then again, she always had that look every since she found someone that existed simply which makes her made. She didn't may it no mind, but to say that in her mind over and over would simply be lying to herself. She had waited for Keera to return to the PET wondering when she'd have her orders since she would like to know what twisted idea her netop had in mind.

"Empress..." Keera had muttered lowly as she had turned her head looking slightly away from Junior and to her ear like someone was whispering over it. "We'll follow them for now....so don't let them escape!" She now wished with those last words, she wouldn't have waited for the command. It seemed like the whole net had logged in to help, or simply cause more trouble, and she was left stalking. Not her choice of words, but she had to admit, that was the look of the situation.

The navi sighed as she unfolded her arms. "Yes madam..." she replied as she had leapt forward and then chased after Junior to see what he was up to anyway. It seemed like the most likely you'd try to get rid of someone, the more likely they would follow in logic.
"REINFORCEMENTS! REINFORCEMENTS!"

Something blasted between Empress and Junior so fast that it was simply a blur. A split-second later came the roar; it was deafening, as if they had just been passed by a rocket. Cinders landed on Empress's dress and in Junior's hair, but by the time they had beaten out the sparks, whatever had disturbed their conversation was long gone.

The blur was halfway out of sight by that point, leaving a long afterimage of fire behind it. It probably would have kept going if it hadn't met a wall of clashing NetPoliceman and NetMafia goons. The blur rolled to one side and came back around on an impossibly wide curve born of massive speed. Even at such a distance away, Empress and Junior could still faintly hear the bellow of the rocket. It took the two civilians a moment to realize that the blur had barrel rolled all the way around and was shooting back, directly towards them, like a bullet.

A massive footstep made Junior and Empress turn suddenly.

Behind them stood a small group of rather shady-looking characters. The one in the middle immediately drew both the civilians' eyes. It was a huge mammoth standing on its back legs, still encrusted by sheets of ice that seemed to be shaped almost like plates of armour. The mammoth was looking straight over Junior and Empress, frowning towards the streaking blur that rapidly approached. The other two Navis on either side of the shaggy creature were smaller, but were nearly as intimidating. One had a huge sword made of silver-swirled brown steel in hand, ready to strike. The other was really more like two Navis -- identical ones with exactly the same orange hair and blue armour, connected by a length of razor wire looped securely around one arm each.

"We had better deal with him before he can call in backup, unless we want to deal with more officers than we already have on hand," the two linked Navis said at exactly the same time. They simultaneously drew corresponding knives. The Navi with the strangely-coloured sword pushed through between Junior and Empress, as if they hardly mattered. The connected Navis followed just behind him, and the huge mammoth stormed through in the rear. If they had even noticed the civilians, they had already dismissed them as being harmless.

"COME ON, SOMEONE! REINFORCEMENTS! I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" the blur screamed as it bore down on the pack of shady-looking Navis.

The mammoth took the lead, standing directly in the path of the oncoming fiery streak. "Foil, Damascus. Fan," he ordered the other three Navis. The one with the sword, apparently Damascus, went off to the mammoth's left; the paired Navis, presumably Foil, headed to the right. The blur did not show any signs of dodging; at the speed that it was moving, it seemed as though it was going to crash right into the huge barricade that the mammoth formed.

Evil or good? HERE WE GO!

BATTLE ONE. FIGHT!
The quick blast of speed that went by Empress was sudden as it caught her attention and made herself slide to a halting stop. Her dress sizzled with the small embers after patting it out seeing the black sparks that were somewhat noticed among her dress's tint since it was clearly dark enough already, so it only made the small openings that were burned through visible enough as she had looked at it with a simple glare. There was two things apparent to her during this situation. It seemed as if the heat of the war was on at this moment and the blur was a navi on the run, and then she would have to shop GMO refreshment from the online Cosco's where she buys her clothes from. She only attempted to follow the navi around the area as it cried for reinforcements throughout the block.

As the mammoth side step was taken, it was enough to describe the size of one of the shady navis that past them by and didn't pay them no mind. Not that Empress was looking for a proper excuse me, which she saw as plain pathetic, but she didn't take to kindly to anyone ignoring her. It was none of her business, nor did she think too much of it. She folded her arms and then turned around looking towards Junior as she had shot him a glare from the space between. "I don't know about this bad guy good guy stuff you and your friends play on the net, but I prefer to keep neutral. However..."

Empress had said with a smirk as she had unfolded her arms to reveal her long and slender nylon whip. She had twirled it about the air like a ribbon except it's movements were more disciplined and wound so that when she cast her whip, she would make a snap and crack that would make anyone cry out in agony. "I prefer the small bounty on their heads. I hear that criminal values have gone up, as my NetOp has quite claimed. Quite the currency if our sources have told the tale correctly."

Empress had gave her arm a wider waver as she had swiveled it about. She had then cast full force forward aiming to strike Damascus and then casting again to strike Foil to paralyze them with her whip's strike across their hinds like they were some wild cattle for her to tame. It would be more appropriate to strike the mammoth who was like a target, but she hated minions more, and she had simply given the mammoth the honor of being drained by her unstable distortion around her body.

"Quite foolish to turn your back on someone...you can't trust anyone during this little fiasco if I should do inform the foolish." Empress had said as she had twirled her whip and then cracked it once more so that it would be at her side. She had shown that empty stolid expression as she stared at them. Her whip still drawn for her next strike to act like a barrier as she strikes any oncoming attack to subdue her enemy or perhaps to even just knock a projectile from the air. She was ready for these marks. Keera would be quite pleased to collect the bounty on these targets if there was any. Maybe NetMafia ranks determined the amount. If one could see the expression the NetOp had on her face, it would be one of a powerful greed.

Empress didn't hesitate as her eyes gave off a glow. "Battlechip data from folder.mem downloaded!" she had said as her free left hand had turned into a corn stalk and then the green peeling pelted off showing the yellow corn across the stalk as Empress held it. "Fire..." she uttered simply as she had let out two blasts of the popcorn bombs aiming the shots at the Mammoth like navi and the goon navi Foil attempting waddle down what energy he had. She had made the stalk of corn vanish breaking into nothing more than Junk data.

The navi moved swiftly as her black dress had blown in the wind while she almost flew away with her swift leg movement. She had aligned herself on the navi groups right flank as she was assured that she was not in a range where she could hit the blur that went across the field being on the other side of the barricade, but now she aligned herself to have her in one point of a triangle stance with Junior and the blur figure acting as the corners. Her palm was already lifted to reveal a double barrel from her right hand as she had let out a quick blast to attack her enemies letting the blast aim for Foil as well as for Mammothman to be caught in the spread. She had eased herself as she held her whip to her side to nullify an incoming attack as her X-hit while standing in wait.

Junior turned and looked at Empress as she started talking, surprised, "Huh? You're going to help, Empress-san? How unusually... selfless of you."

"You called her weak. She probably has a point to prove." Wes commented. Then, after the bounty comment, he went on, "That and it seems she wants money. Doesn't seem to matter who the job is for, as long as she gets paid for it." Come to think of it, this attitude seemed a bit familiar, "Geez, listening to them is like reading that Shadowess person's posts. I wonder if all bounty hunters act so high and mighty and have an affinity for darkness. No, that can't be right. Samus wore bright colors and Boba was just plain awesome..."

"Anyway, fictional characters aside, what's the plan here? If we side with Empress-san and attack this group, it'll be an even three on three. Not sure who is who though. The group seems mean so I can only assume they're the bad guys, though that doesn't make them the NP. Thoughts?" Junior inquired.

"I think its time for them to stop running. Charge your Fingers and I'll take care of the two flunkies holding hands." Wes selected the Mistconv and SideBamboo1. Their best bet would be to catch the trio off guard and strike at them while they were concentrating on the blur. Instructing his navi to keep a short distance behind the three to keep them in range, Wes them pulled up a screen on hologram in front of him and began inputting commands with his finger. He'd trip up the mammoth first. Clicking a few yards ahead of him on the overview, Wes created a puddle of water which leapt out of the ground and took the form of the hand. The thing opened its palm and spread its fingers, silently commanding the behemoth to stop, then lurched forward to seal the deal by crushing the large foe. He then directed his attention to the two navis chained together. Were they siblings? Lovers? Or perhaps one had trouble crossing the street? In any case, he'd make them regret their odd choice of fashion. With another click, a cluster of bamboo shot up from the ground. Instead of moving, it stood there, in the center of the two lackeys' path and proceeded to firmly root itself to the ground. What Wes was hoping on was for the two to continue charging ahead. Then, their link would meet with the roadblock, causing each to swing around and slam into each other. Of course, their ally's stun might throw the plan a little bit but they still might stumble into the trap or perhaps it would only work on one, which would still manage to trigger his trap. Taking aim at one of the enemies, and with a quick gleam from its eyes, the bamboo creature thrusted out one of its reeds, preparing to penetrate one, if not two, of the tag-alongs. His preparations complete, Wes called out, "Okay, you're clear! Do your stuff, Junior!"

"Okay then, here it comes, big guy..." Junior mumbled to himself. As Wes had been paving the way, Junior was quietly gathering power into his hands, each individual finger storing up the power. He also packed in a bit of extra energy, for good measure, moments before the two previous attacks had finished. Now he was ready. All he needed to do was aim and fire. He brought up his hands, angling his shot for the giant's back. He then released a massive amount of power, ten tiny lasers firing from his fingers before joining together for one massive attack. He had stopped running and now just stood there, holding his pose as he awaited furthur instructions.

"Okay, here are a few more chips. Saying the names aloud could prove dangerous, so I'll trust you to recognize their data signature." Wes loaded three more chips, then just watched.

Taking a moment to figure out what had been sent, Junior then raised a hand and projected a cursor out accross the field. The mark traveled along the ground, slowly making its way over towards the largest target. When the mark seemed dead on, Junior fired a quick blast of power from his hand, confident it would find its mark. He then reached up towards the sky, palms open, and summoned up three large balls of fire, "This will finish you!" Hurling all three at once, the sphere bounced once on the ground before continuing on their path towards their intended targets. Knowing this could be the decisive blow but not wanting to take any chances, Junior materialized a round red shield in front of him, which he ducked behind. He doubted they had enough power to break the shield so whatever they threw at him he should be able to send back. He should be safe for now.

As his navi took precautions, Wes had once last thing to do before he was satisfied, "Hey, Sonic the Hedgehog, we're coming to your rescue here, so how about you stop running like a pansy and help us out? Not sure if you can attack or not, but at the very least, you should be able to distract them, right?" If this guy took advantage of the ruckess the two navis were making and ditched them, he was going to be pissed.

The counterattack came both from the wrong source and the wrong direction.

The three shady Navis were hardly expecting to be jumped from behind by the civilians that they had just passed by. Mammothman was the first to notice; the energy field that Empress produced touched him first, and the massive creature looked down to see his colours fade just slightly. With a massive trumpet, he turned with two huge stomps. Tiny red eyes locked on Empress and Junior. They had effectively gotten Mammothman's attention.

"Kill them!" he bellowed at the other three Navis with him. Damascus and Foil looked up, surprised, a second before Empress's whip crashed into them. They were both sent flying, their limbs convulsing, by the force of the blow. Damascus landed hard. Foil seemed slightly more resourceful than their swordsman ally; one of the Navis swung the other to the ground, and the second dragged his copy down before any real damage could be done to them in the air.

The shady Navis hardly had a moment to recover before corn flew. Mammothman swung his huge trunk, harmlessly knocking away one kernel, and stormed away towards the streaking blur. The other had been aimed far too high to hit its intended target of Foil. Junior's fist of water smashed into Mammothman's side. The huge Navi staggered and several icy plates cracked, but did not fall. He seemed to be leaving the responsibility of annihilating the two civilians entirely to his flunkies.

Foil leapt into action a split-second before Damascus. The entwined Navis moved jerkily, due to the corruption of their movement systems by Empress's whip, but they threw themselves at her nonetheless. The blades of their knives burst into flame. Both of Foil's parts took perfectly choreographed slashes at Empress. However, the whip shot out, and smacked both of the blades aside. The two Navis looked equally shocked, but came back to their senses simultanoeously. Instead of the knives, they led with the razor wire that connected them, scoring a painful slash across her arm.

As Foil tried to retract their arms, a tower of bamboo crashed up out of the ground between them. The wire snagged, and as Junior had anticipated, their momentum caused them to crash into each other. They sunk to the ground, dazed.

The blur barely managed to roll out of the way of the shaggy mass of Mammothman. The huge Navi made a grab for the streak with his trunk, but couldn't keep up with its tremendous speed. Mammothman swore in a gutteral snarl, turned, and was blasted right off his feet by the combined power of a Soul Finger Shot and the remnants of a Shotgun that had just ravaged Foil. Junior took his chance, locked on with his Markcannon, and blew Mammothman into tiny snowflakes that quickly melted.

The blur shot past off to the civilians' left, still yowling for backup.

"You bastard!" both of Foil's parts shouted after him.

Damascus had already rolled back to his feet, but had chosen to keep a careful eye on the proceedings before attacking. His cautious eye had noticed the sudden growth of bamboo that had taken Foil off their feet, but hadn't been quite quick enough to block the incoming spear. Damascus bounced a couple of times before he came to a stop. Propping himself up on his oddly-coloured sword, he growrled furiously as he tore the bamboo free of his body. Junior hurled a fireball in his direction, as well as Foil's; both projectiles hit their marks.

Now both bleeding and charred, Damascus flipped back to his feet as if it had been nothing. With a snort, he kicked off toward Junior, raising his sword with the bloodlust in his eyes. Three huge claws grew from the end, ready to rip and tear. However, Damascus was rejected by the Guard that suddenly popped up between himself and his target. The taloned sword bounced back into his face, inflicting the proper injuries.

The civilians' radios suddenly crackled with a transmission. The strange field over the area tore it mostly to shreds, and the sound of a rocket was audible in the background, but they could still make out most of the words.

"Dude!" implored the voice that belonged to the blur. "I don't know what you're doing here if you're not Police or the Maf! And I have a name, huh!? Lateralman!"

The streak swung around and settled into a circular route around Junior and Empress. If they looked really hard, they could just see the shape of a humanoid Navi in a flak jacket and pilot's helmet, with a gigantic jetpack strapped to his back.

"And I can't stop!" Lateralman went on. "This stupid thing never stops! They managed to mulch my unit and most of me, so I don't know what else I can do! Thanks for helping out, though, you guys! Appreciated!"

"The two flunkies are left... Figured if anyone would have went down, it'd of been those two. As for the idiot with the jet pack... see if you can help him out after we finish these two. Sending something to nab them both. Let's exploit their assessory a bit more, okay?" Wes said, sliding in a chip.

"Huh? Oh, so that's your plan. Well then, here goes." Junior created a large ball of electricity in front of him, floating before an outstretched hand. He aimed not for one of the enemy navi, however, but instead pointed it at the area in between the two. He firing off the crackling ball at the chain, assuming it was metal and would conduct electricity. It would be just about enough to finish the two, if the thing hit. He'd need at least one more attack to end it, though. He glanced at his partner. She had been hit, so healing her might be a good idea as well, "All right, send me a finisher and then something to heal Empress-san as well."

Wes glanced over what he had left. The flameline would be his best bet, but there was a chance the blurred idiot might run into the wall of flames. He'd go bubbler. He also picked out a Recovery30 chip, "Okay, wrap things up."

With a quick flick of the wrist, Junior fired off a bubble of water, which flew off and exploded with a crash, shooting bubbles everywhere. He then gathered the healing data he had been sent and shot it slowly through the air at Empress. Now only the blur remained. Attacking the jetpack could prove fatal, so he'd have to go pure status affects. He pulled off his glasses and flashed a quick wink at the guy, hoping it'd be enough to hold him still. If it didn't work, though, it'd be no big deal. The navi could just shoot off into the net again. He didn't seem like he'd be a strong ally anyway. Junior then stood up and prepared for whatever might come next.

Empress had spun around as she had felt her arm tore by the second quick attack. She had slid her hand over the wound before standing again and then let go. She couldn't let such a small nick get at her. It was showing weakness in front of her madam. She had retained that usual lack of soul as she had lifted her right palm using her distortion attempting to drain Damascus with the little energy he had left. "You will heal my wound by paying with your own deletion..." Empress had said with an amused expression on her face while seeing the Mammoth's data break to pieces all the while.

"Hmm...you're not bad of a fighter for someone who manages to get on my nerves every now and again." Empress had said before crossing her arms. Her compliment to Jr. almost sounded like an insult, or either two rolled into one so it would balance itself out. Now that the field was just about even with her and Jr. dealing with two navis left over. She had acted harshly towards the situation as she had loaded her next set of chips through her and Keera's link to the Folder.Mem program. "This'll do...a few shots." Empress had noted as she had quickly moved about the field being sure she was out of the range of fire from Jr's attacks and motioning herself to aligned her aim towards her enemies again.

Empress's arms had swirled with fire before it ended and gathered to the palm in the form of a flaming orb. As she had cast her gaze towards her enemies, she had quickly thrust one arm with a toss to fire a burst of her heatshot, and then the other palm let out with a thrust to fire a second shot towards her enemies looking to bombard them with her attacks. Empress had stayed on her toes as she moved about the field with her body tossing itself in a spin ready motion to evade from any attack with grace, or she was just playing around all on her lonesome seeing she had a dark smile on her face at the overkill she was giving to her enemies.

A blast of lightning tore through the air. Junior's aim was true; it seemed to be almost magnetically attracted to the length of razor wire between Foil's two parts. Electricity jumped along the metal string and leapt into the two connected Navis. They were both driven to their knees by the shock. Any kind of counterattack was stifled by the arresting power of the condensed lightning bolt, and any kind of recovery was beaten to the punch by Empress's well-placed Heatshot. The flying embers sprayed past the rapidly-deleting twin Navis and into the remanants of Damascus, who had succumbed to the inexorable force of Empress's vampiric field. Junior's Bubbler exploded into froth on the ground, denied a target. The healing energy of the Recov30 gathered in a healing shroud around Empress, repairing the last of the damage she had taken.

To his misfortune, Lateralman turned back towards the two civilians just in time to see Junior lift his sunglasses and fire off the suggestive wink that had brought hordes of viruses to a dead halt. The gesture had exactly the same effect on the speeding NetPolice Navi. The flames of the jetpack suddenly died. Carried on the weight of the momentum, he sailed on through the air for several dozen yards, until gravity figured out that it had regained control over him and dragged him to the ground. Lateralman halted at the end of a ten-foot furrow in the ground. He lay there for several moments, twitching.

"That ... was ... the greatest ..." he managed through a numb jaw, still half-locked by Junior's highly homosexual wink. Slowly he pushed himself up into a sitting position and straightened his pilot's helmet. He took a huge breath and scrambled sluggishly to his feet. Once he had made sure that his balance wouldn't suddenly desert him, Lateralman locked eyes on Junior. A huge grin spread across his face, and he lunged toward the civilian, grabbing hold of him in a highly embarassing hug. "You are the BEST, man!" Lateralman yowled, tears of gratitude falling from behind his visor. "Thank you so much! I've never been able to stop and look at the Internet like a normal Navi! You're amazing, man!"
"Ice Seed? Very nice. Glad we took out the big one first." Wes commented, placing the chip in his folder. He then commented to Lateralman, "Please get off my navi, baka. We're here to help you, not hug you, so let him go so that we can go find another one of you bums to save."

"That's not very nice... though yeah, you should probably let me go." Junior said, struggling out of the hold the other navi had on him, "We have other business to attend to so we should probably get going... Enjoy your freedom from the jetpack." Junior started walking off, feeling a bit uncomfortable around the one they had just rescued.
Lateralman, to his credit, only looked a little less overjoyed at Junior's rejection. He did as he was told, releasing the civilian and taking a large step away. Then, just because he could, he did a little twirl on the spot, with his massive jetpack clanking behind him. Suddenly he froze, an expression of horror on his face underneath his visor.

"Backup! Right! Shoot!"

Lateralman raised a hand to the side of his helmet and depressed a switch there. A rather distinct crackling came from within the helmet.

"Hey, it's me. Auk? You there? Dude, you'd better get down here. I've got a couple of civilians, and they helped me clear out those Maff idiots -- Auk, you listening? Auk? Hey, Auk!"
Empress had took the Rageclaw battlechip data and downloaded it as Keera on the other hand simply used her Folder.Mem ability to download the chip data into her memory. Those little pieces of metal and circuitry didn't mean nothing to her. It was only the data that needed to be collected that was importance to her. She simply had recharged her own battlechip folder's memory while listening to the jabbering of her partner and the stray navi. She didn't take too much interest as she collected the Zenny data with the battlechip data.

Her download completed. She had sighed with no interest as Empress had caught onto her bored vibe and was walking off away from Junior. "Let's not waste time here with the drag along...this place is still chalked with opportune bounty." Showing a one track mind, Empress had folded her arms and pressed forward with that same mighty prowess simply ignoring the navi.

((Okay EN, you got me excited for battle 2! ^^))
There was the disinct clanking of metal, combined with the swish of parting air. A massive metal spike dropped from the sky and slammed into the ground, impaling itself point-down. A pair of wings unfolded from the spike. They were layered in feathers of iron, and had hooked talons adorning the joints. These wings squared themselves on the ground, like some kind of impossible pterodactyl, and the rest of the Navi decompressed itself from spike form.

It was a bird, that much was obvious. The hawk-Navi was at least seven feet long, and its entire body was coated in the same metal feathers, each as long as Empress's or Junior's fingers. The ones on the Navi's wings had been painted various colours at one point in time, but the paint had long since faded. The Navi had a deadly beak and cruel little eyes that glowed yellow from behind a curtain of feathers.

"Hell, Lat," the Navi said, in a voice that sounded exactly like two plates of rusted metal grinding together. The bird was staring at Lateralman, clearly shocked. "You ... stopped."

"Auk!" Lateralman cried, leaping toward the huge metal bird. "You made it! Dude, they came out of nowhere, and they completely ate the rest of the unit. Where were you, man?"

"Dealing with the rest of the war. Who are they?"

Lateralman grinned back at Junior and Empress. "Auk, man, these cats saved me from the Maff. They're not half-bad, either."

Auk ducked his head in a nod. "Well, then, thanks for --"

He stopped suddenly, pressing himself to the ground and looking up. All of the feathers on his sleek body stood on their ends. Lateralman simply looked confused.

"Wha--"

"CONFLAGRATION!"

A blast of flame shot out of nowhere and slammed into the ground, ripping entire panels free of their framework with the force of its impact. Auk was already in the air, flapping his expansive wings powerfully. However, Lateralman had been thrown right off his feet by the explosion of fire, and was currently spinning across the network with his entire front burnt. Out of desperation, he hit the button that activated his jetpack. It roared to life and almost instantly righted him -- but then he was off again, speeding through the air so fast that he melted back into a blur. As he passed Empress and Junior, they could distinctly hear him screaming in frustration.

As the fire raged, the two civilians were able to see something that looked distinctly like a face in the heart of the flames. It was grinning.

"It's Asylum!" Auk shouted at Lateralman. The speeding blur flashed a thumbs-up as he passed just underneath the bird.

A word appeared in front of the two civilians. "Portal."

That word suddenly shot off like an arrow, sliding silently to the ground. As soon as it had fixed itself in place, the letters began to expand. They went black, and their surface bubbled. The pockets of -- ink, that was what splattered around the word -- exploded to reveal half an army of viruses.

The longest word that either Junior or Empress had other seen dropped out of the sky and landed with a crash on the ground, just behind the wall of viruses. The civilians only got through reading the initial 'hippo' part of the word before it melted together into the shape of a robed woman. She smiled, produced a massive book from beneath her cloak, and clipped on a small chain that connected the book's spine to something within her dress.

"Salutations, infidels," the woman said sweetly. "I am Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia. Do call me Hip. I apologize in advance for the treatment I am about to apply to you."

As the raging flames sputtered out and a Navi made of the very ground rose up from the panels, as if the network itself had developed an avatar, Empress and Junior realized that they were going to have to fight their way out.

BATTLE TWO. START!
"A summoner? Crap, looks like we'll have to take out all these minions before we can tackle the boss... Otherwise the field will be too crowded." Junior mumbled in disappointment. Taking out all these foes would be a chore.

"Wrong." Wes interjected. He had quickly but carefully mulled over the situation in his head. He recognized this technique all too well, "I've played enough videogames to know how this kind of thing works. First, the boss summons a starting set of enemies. Normally it seems wise to kill the small fries first but if you do that, oftentimes the boss will only summon more. Of course, normally they don't send out their maximum number of summons right away. There will probably be more of these things in a little bit. However, sometimes things need to get worse before they get better, so the best solution is to let this guy summon whatever he wants and instead concentrate on him rather than his goons. Attacking the horde right now will get you no where, so let's take down the head honcho before proceeding. I'm sending you some weapons now... Try to stun those guys while I ready your arsenal." Wes prepped four chips, slotted them in and then waited.

"Stun, huh? Only one thing he could mean by that." He glanced at the two navis on the other side of the horde. No doubt they were carefully watching the group carefully, either in order to size them up or laugh at their current predicament. Whatever the reason, though, that focus would be used against them, "Oh don't worry, Hip-san. It'll probably be us who have more to apologize for by the time this is done. Don't take it personally." He addressed the woman, but kept his focus on both as he quickly pulled off his shades and sent a quick wink at the pair. If it was enough to stop some loon's jetpack, it'd be enough to stop a pair of supervillians, most likely.

As the chip data loaded, Junior paused just a second to go over what had been sent. The plan was obvious, though it might put his allies in the main line of fire for a moment, "Sorry, Empress-san, but it seems I'm needed elsewhere, so to speak. Please try to hold on for just a bit." Junior then vanished, but reappeared a second later behind the pair of enemies he had just flashed a wink to. As his feet met the ground, the net's floor began to change. Healthy green grass began to grow from the point in which he stood and kept sprouting out at a steady rate around him, forming a large circle of the stuff. He raised his arms into the air and conjured up a trio of fireballs. His main target would be the summoner. Of course, due to their proximity, that meant that the female navi would be hit as well. As much as he hated attacking a woman, though, it was obvious that Empress's safety would come before hers. He threw the balls at his two targets, the third flying furthur away into the crowd of enemies. With the large wall of them, it seemed unlikely he'd miss. However, right now the viruses were not his concern, so what the flame hit really didn't matter, "Sorry, Hip-san..." Junior muttered, a bit ashamed, "Guess I better use that last attack..."

"No, I'll take care of it." Wes said. He realized that with this move, his navi was likely to strike just the summoner. However, it was necessary to nail the woman as well, if possible, so him controlling it would be the only way to go. With a quick press of the screen, a cluster of bamboo shot up from the ground. Then, by using a directional pad, Wes steered the foilage as it raced ahead, right toward the two opponents. With a quick smile, Wes instructed it to stab out at the pair with one of its long reeds, "Skewer those punks, SideBamboo1."

With the deed done, Junior had no reason to stick around any longer. He jumped to the side, away from the pair while being conscious of the stadium's edge. He also took a look at the woman's book and, more importantly, the chain it was attached to. For a girl to use that on him.... it wouldn't look right. People would definately talk. He better be wary of her especially, "Let's try to keep this kid friendly..." He whispered nervously as he moved away.

"Yeah, yeah... I'm sure bondage would really offend everyone here." Wes said sarcastically. He then went on, "You should just concentrate on her book instead... maybe if you burn it, she'll go back to the Mamodo World. I don't suppose you managed to fry it in your previous attack, did you?" As Wes continued with his unhelpful remarks, he thought to himself. There was no way the summoner was dead, even if all their attacks had hit perfectly. To finish him off, they'd either need additional support from one of the other three or to go back in for another series of attacks. What they did next would be determined by their allies this time...

As Empress began to walk away, she only found herself drawing back from the entrance of the strange navi before her. She had narrowed her eyes as she had saw it start to reveal form with a spread of it's wings. The spikes on it made it seem like it was some kind of 'nasty' to tend with if it would come to that. The metal feathers making it seem like it would have a tough defense making Empress react with her mind set on utter destructive force when it came to it meaning she would have to reach and depend on the strength of her Static Blast was enough to blow the iron feathers asunder with a bet. Any further intimidation by those eyes and rusted metal didn't shave off any of her doubt, but it convinced her this would be a tough adversary. She couldn't make out the words it was saying as it said, "Hell..." which was somewhat clear, but she didn't take no chances as she ready to lunge with her right crackling with the dark force of wind and electricity that sound through the air cutting it with the static sound, but the voice of the rescued navi had interfered as Empress's eyes had drew away to look behind her to notice he knew this navi.

"A..uk?" Empress had asked broken and a bit of confusion seeing that they even knew each other. It really shocked her at best. With something this big of a magnitude that made up a mean and ferocious navi, it looked like a giant scrap heap that was put together by the mech-heads of the NetMafia, but yet, it was only another device of the net police. It was quite ironic that appearances made the difference. Nonetheless, Empress lowered her guard after getting a second glimpse and then making the static cutting sound of her palmed attack dissipate into the wind.

She had folded her arms convinced they were wasting time with clowns again. Not complaining, she stood there accepting the word of thanks as she tucked each hand under her respective arms, only to find that it didn't last as the large navi's feathers started to stand on end like a sharp sensed cat feeling the light touch of danger that approached. Something that large fearing the sound of an oncoming of the war, while a simple female navi like Empress just sat there only in wait. She had a few choice words for the navi, but decided to let them wait as she was patient with the coming force from afar.

As the flames erupted to show a face, she didn't give much of a reaction other than a flinch of annoyance, but it turned into a comforting smile marking this navi as another one of her "catches" for the evening. Her left leg cocked back and ready to kick off, she was expecting to attack with quick ease seeing that her enemy wasn't much of a bothersome force since it seemed the odds was against him, but she thought that too soon as the six letters that made her day had popped up and then from it the viruses had spurted from it after melting across the ground. What a disgrace, the word of the day was "Portal" and so far is managed to piss her off leaving a horde of viruses between her and a glorious mark for money.

Without further delay...wait...there was one more. The long word that had crashed behind the viruses had stood there stretching from one end to another as Empress tried to get a good read, and a good pronunciation at that, but failed before she drew her attention to the enemy before them watching as she had drew a book and clipped a chain to it. Was she trying to replicate that of a Grimoire or so? In that case, Empress knew that this enemy would be trouble since long ranged attackers worked that way. Good thing for her, she had someone to help collect her bountiful loop as she thought to smile and quickly stand ready in her position to fight ignoring the over confident Navis standing behind their army of viruses. That wasn't going to save them this time around though. Letting the raging flame spurt from the ground, this is where the fun begins for Empress!

"A fair warning Empress..." Keera began to say as she had gazed towards the screen of her darkened room. "Your Whip 'n' Tango is stronger this time around, but it'll lower speed and your distortion strength comes active after you finish making your moves also." Keera had mentioned as the navi had nodded understanding as she had prepared herself. She had made her declaration as she had unfold her arms and smirked at the navi that announced their so called down fall. "It seems that challenging us, you must not know how much of an infidel that makes you hippoptoma-...."

".......hippomapotomonstrosi-" Empress paused for a moment as her expression went from bitter to plain confused.

"No...it's hippomonpot-...." Keera had intervened trying to pronounce the term as well. "This...this isn't even in my vocabulary data-banks!" Keera had said bitterly as she sat madly at her PET. "Grab a dictionary! Is it even real?" she scolded as she started to load battlechip data out of anger.

"It must be! I'm sitting her looking at it madam!" Empress had argued as they both shook their hands done contorting the spelling and digressed back towards the battle. "Just delete it! Delete them all! No one confuses me with some silly English!" Keera had declared in a superior rage as her navi had followed her commands and quickly lifted her right hand revealing her palm grasping a ball of pyro flames as she had drew back and thrust letting a dangerous Heatshot aim to strike the first set of Mets while using the grass terrain to her advantage.

Empress didn't let up as she had drew back her arms again letting another ball of fire and flame form in the left hand as she had readied the blast of fire. Her movement was quick as she had placed her right hand on the left wrist and then fire forward with the second heatshot aiming for the other Met with the inclusion of a FighterPlane Virus. At a time like this, she wished she had better chips before coming into such territory, but they had to make due with what they had. For bounty hunters, it was pretty embarrassing though. Reason enough why they needed the money seeing that they both agreed on the same thing; They both needed to become stronger.

Keera had loaded her next chip as Empress had made quick work of using the stalk of corn that appeared on her right hand. "Fire the corn!" Keera bellowed her command from her seat. The stalk of corn exploded as it had blast two lumps of maze (or corn shall we say?) toward the distant Powie. If only butter could sweeten it's accuracy, Keera would have no problem with the nearly useless battlechip data.

Empress was no where near done as she observed the battlefield. She had made no effort to play any trump cards as she stared towards her enemies. With that, she had lifted her hands making a large windbox appear in front of her position as she had crouched low behind it for a defense. As she waited for her next opportunity to strike, she had turned up her distorted field around her body as it aimed to drain a small tidbit of hp from one of her enemies, and her selected target was the FighterPlane she already had attempted to strike on that turn.

"Madam...by any chance, are you still wondering about that word's origin?" Empress asked as she had glanced over her shoulder to her the communication response from her NetOp, firstly hearing the pages of a dense book slap close before she gave a responsive, "No..."

[So very sorry for the delay!]

With another one of his heart-stopping (and muscle-stopping, too) winks, Junior sent both Hip and Asylum reeling. The book went flying out of Hip's hand, and only the chain connecting it to something inside her robes kept her from losing it entirely. The Navi-shaped growth of panels rising up out of the ground shattered and fell in fragments. The air swirled and congealed, creating the approximate shape of a Navi. Apparently Asylum had moved from the earth to the air. Junior vanished, reappearing a moment later behind the two NetPolice goons. The ground was so happy to have his presence that it immediately burst out growing grass.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the pack of viruses, Empress was pulling her own weight. She let two deadly Heatshots fly towards the unlucky Metools that had been selected as her first victims. The flaming shots burnt two columns of the recently-created grass to a crisp, but the additional destruction only seemed to add to the Heatshots' power as they slammed into the Metools. Both of the viruses were instantly incinerated in the dual infernos.

Junior followed up with a conflagaration of his own, this time in the form of the triple-fire Phoenixshot directed at the two NetMafia members. Asylum could do nothing but watch from it place in the air itself; the flames tore through its ethereal body like sunlight through a fog. Hip had just managed to reel in her book in time. She flipped it open, slammed her finger down on the page, and cried, "Safeguard!"

The word that she had pronounced wrote itself across the air in front of her in white fire. The Phoenixshot bound for her broke harmlessly on the word-shield. Meanwhile, a Bunny was mulched by the remnants of the ruptured blast. As if to spite her, a spear of bamboo leapt out of nowhere just as the word evaporated, spearing Hip through the side. Asylum, still unable to defend itself, was subjected to the same treatment.

As if satisfied with the ability of the two civilians to hold their own against such a high-class threat, Auk wheeled in the air with a mighty clatter of metal and shot straight toward the pack of viruses. His beak opened, and with a rasping screech, a blast of energy shot out and exploded amongst the viral ranks. A second later, the streak of motion that was Lateralman roared past. However, the bumbling, jetpacked Navi also came equipped with a sword that he simply had to hold out to one side in order to slash an unfortunate Bunny in half.

Empress's Cornshot kernels went flying wide as the two Powies flapped to get out of the way. Although they had been initially surprised by the civilians' wholehearted assault, the viruses finally began their retaliation. Two Fighterplanes turned their machine guns on their enemies. Junior managed to go leaping out of the way as the bullets ripped through the ground just behind his heels, but as Lateralman shot past another Fighterplane (leaving a gaping gash from his Sword), he was sent rolling through the air as the shots made impact. Empress, meanwhile, slammed down a Windbox that sent an immediate blast of air flying at the viruses and their masters. The remaining Bunny had snuck around behind her, though, and sent a ring of electricity shooting towards Empress. It pegged her right between the shoulderblades, sending a debilitating discharge of energy through her systems. The power that her distortion field drained from one of the Fighterplanes helped to partially heal her wounds, but still left her feeling weak.

"Okay, we almost got that guy, Junior. Let's finish the job and then go for the little toy planes. Sending you three attacks... use them well." Wes said, picking out a trio of chips and slotting them in.

"Ah, this will do nicely, especially if I add my own power in." Junior commented. He turned his head upwards and looked at the floating foe. He raised his hand up in front of his face in determination and began chanting, "This hand of mine glows with an awesome power... Its burning grip tells me to defat you!" He clenched his hand into a fist and drew it back. It began glowing, then suddenly burst into flames, "SHINING... FALCON PUNCH!" He punched the air and releasing a large, flaming projection of his fist, which burned through the sky, hopefully on a path that would allow it to crash into the summoner and incinerate his weakened frame. Then, not willing to let up, he raised up his other hand, open palmed. He quickly aimed it at where the floating foe had been and used the weapon data he had just recieved to search out the hostile presence. After a few seconds of looking, he released a shot, hoping that the auto-targetting system of the chip would allow him to easily destroy any of the navi's remains. He then took a step back and thought of his next move.

"Hmmm... better make use of the grass while I can." Junior looked around and tried to pick out of strip of the green terrein. Now what would be a good target for his attack? The planes seemed like they would be easy to manipulate. He then waved at the three, "Hey, virus-boya, over here. Line up and take your best shot!" He called. Then, waiting until the time seemed right, he conjured up a column of fire, which ran along the path of grass toward the crowd of enemies. With luck, it'd gain enough power from the ground to take out a good number of foes. With that done, he prepared for one last attack.

Slowly Junior began gathering energy. It was time for his most powerful technique. Since it was his own special technique, it would be best to use it as soon as possible, so that the cooldown on it could begin and he could prepare to use it again. All ten of his fingers began to glow warm as they powered up. He brought both hands together and held each digit close to the others, wanting to combine that attack of each into one large beam. He then brought his hands forward and released the energy into one massive, shining blast, directed at one of the small-turned-large foes. The strength of this technique could easily down such an opponent in a single hit, if it connected. Junior then backed off for a bit, figuring he had done enough for the moment. Besides, if he continued attacking, he'd soon have to attack that enemy. He wasn't looking forward to that at all. Better get out of the action for a moment and hope the others took care of it.

"Soon it'll just be down to us and that navi.... that won't be good." Wes mumbled. He then spoke to the other three navis they were teamed with, "Hey, bums, we may have a slight problem. That other navi, the one with a weird name... well, we can't really be much help fighting her. I'll need you three to take care of her when the time comes. I don't feel like explaining why."

"Annoying rabbit!" Keera had uttered with disgust after the bunny virus had shocked Empress into a paralysis state. The netnavi had flinched as she had felt the electric feedback surge through her and stop her for one action. "We'll have to cover our attacks with defenses this turn. Not much we can do with that small delay." Tactics switched with Keera's little statement as she had gestured towards Empress with a nod and the next battlechip she'd use for this turn.

Empress was swift with movement as she had quickly acted to evade the range of the bunny virus as well as staying clear of Junior's attacks until the very last of his attacks was used. Really, she was trying to get closer to the Powie so her next attack wouldn't fail her as she had took her right hand generating a log at her frontal view and placed her right boot on it's top surface.

"Okay, my turn." She had said with a swift kick of her right foot to send the log into a quick tumble across the field as it stormed towards the PowieEX to roll over them with a dangerous speed. She was quick to think as she had reached behind her with a glance of Keera towards the other NetMafia goon with the hard name to pronounce.

"Empress, disable her!" Keera had called out as the netnavi quickly caught onto the idea. The last thing that was need was that same navi using its ability to defend other targets on the field. "On it!" She simply responded with obediently as she had taken the whip from behind her back as she had started to twirl it while grounding herself into position with a stance and preparing to attack. She had started to lash cracking her whip once for intimidation attempting a stun at Hip, cast her whip to strike him into another stun from the shock, and finally using a long cast with a motion of her wrist to whirl the nylon strip once again to make the last strike for that turn. She was more vulnerable as her speed dropped this turn, but she kept her whip out to deflect two attacks with a simple stroke of her wrist if any attack was in bound.

Empress had grind her right foot into the ground as the distortion's pressure around her had went into effect once again. The chunks of data around her had swirled as if caught in a wind as the pull was directed towards the Bunny virus. Most likely for a vengeful counter for the unfortunate flinching it caused this turn, but she didn't show any resentment since she was quiet as if she was still in her right mind to plan and strategize. She had stood ready to defend herself while in the breeze of the Windbox as her dress and hair blew wildly in the storming winds.
