Over a thousand Navis and their Operators were in for a huge shock last weekend, when a massive opening festival turned into a massive scandal. Within hours of its opening, the newly released NetSquare was attacked by NetTerrorists, deleting dozens of Navis. Hundreds more were forced to jack-out. Witnesses describe programs being used as projectile weapons, terrorist agents being planted in order to offer a false "door prize" and even to poison the NetPolice-provided punch and pie.
The top story here, however, seems to be not the tragedy and destruction of the event, but rather, the response of the NetBattling community. Far from anger and fear, several aspiring Net Heroes actually stayed behind. Unfortunately for them, evidence suggests that they were dispatched by a terrorist agent into different areas of the Net to chase after decoy parties. Thankfully, said decoys were quickly deleted by the courageous Navis who chose to help.
An elite mercenary team of three Navis, working closely with the NetPolice, was dispatched to clear the situation after this knowledge was passed on to several police agencies: These, along with those who lent their strength to the police effort, are the Navis of the hour, Soulman, Dimensionman, and Swing, calling themselves the "Sexy Trio."
They were soon joined by several members of the party who had been sent away by the ringleader, who chose to return. At this point, communications were lost with the Sexy Trio leader, and official knowledge of the event is sketchy at best.
What is known is that Soulman, the leader of the Sexy Trio, was deleted in battle, prompting the disbandment of the team.
Several groups have claimed responsibility for the catastrophe, and NetPolice are investigating as we speak.
And so what was intended to be an introduction of a new age of easy access and communication throughout the world has become something entirely different: It has shunted in a new age of NetHeroes, and shown to a new generation the spirit of the NetBattling community.
