"What the hell? He still hasn't given up... If he catches us we're going to be in way over our heads." muttered Masuku as the wolf began to dash towards them. He then readied himself for battle, his masks appearing on his head. Time seemed to slow down as the female navi called to them. When Narcoeptina began to pull at his hand, he nodded to her and ran with her to the riverbank where the female navis were. They both jumped on the sheet at the same time, both of them aiding the launch power when they jumped off of it. As they landed on the other side of the river, Masuku smirked and said "Well then, let's be glad you didn't actually get caught then...and still won't, eh?" before he ran away from the bank of the river, practically dragging Narcoleptina behind him.

As Masuku ran, Joshua prayed to whatever benevolent forces that may or may not exist that Masuku and Narcoleptina. As the two navi's ran as fast and far as they could, they eventually came across a small outpost on the horizon. Pushing himself as hard as he could, Masuku managed to get to the gates of the outpost. He decided to check behind him, an action he soon came to regret as the wolf NetNavi was still chasing them. Masuku then banged on the gates as hard as he could, shouting "Hey! Let us in! Or help us at the very least!" What he was met with was less welcoming than he had expected. He heard the sound of something clicking as he looked up, seeing two NetNavis, one styled like some sort of knight whilst the other looked like some kind of cat-like creature, wielding rifle-styled weapons pointed directly at Masuku. "So, we should let you in? How do we know you aren't that bandit guy, or whatever he was, that we've been hearing an awful lot about. How do we know you aren't using the girl as some kinda bait?" the cat Navi snarled, it's voice revealing it to be a female Navi. The knight Navi looked out into the distance before taping the shoulder of his colleague and stammered "B-Because the criminal was s-supposed to b-be a w-wolf Navi.... a-and the w-wold N-Navi is over th-their!" as he pointed to the wolf NetNavi who was quickly closing the distance between himself and his targets.

"Ok. Open those gates and close them when these two are through! Calibur, fire at will!" she shouted to the people that must have been in charge of the gates and then the NetNavi besides her respectively. "Y-Yes, Amay!" the knight stuttered, as he began to shoot in the direction of the wolf, who swiftly dodged the energy shots like they were nothing. As soon as the gates opened, Masuku pushed Narcolpetina inside and finally sighing with relief. "Thank God that that's over..."

Masuku smiled and then sighed "Th-thank you for the subchip....and thank you for being safe, Narcoleptina." He had now discovered that he truly cared for Narcoleptina and he was willing to protect her at all costs, even if it included his own life. He then responded to Narcoleptina's apology by saying "Don't worry. Friends help each other out, and for me, it doesn't matter if my life is in danger."

After Narcoleptina had fussed about him, restored his remaining HP, given him a subchip to make up for the one he had lost and began to walk off, Masuku followed after her, keeping his Pyre Pistol out just in case they got attacked by a virus. "He then turned towards Narcoleptina and muttered "Say, what do you think he would have done if you had actually ran away and he had found you?" This was because he was intrigued by the wolf navi: why he stole from other; what he used the money, and objects, he had stolen for and what Narcoleptina had thought of him. He was also very sure they would encounter him again.

"Good luck, Narcoleptina, you're gonna need it..." Masuku sighed, as he used a MiniEnergy subchip and his mask disappeared. After checking he was okay, Masuku began walking in the direction the wolf navi went in before muttering "I'm a fool...It's surprising what love, or anything close to it, can do..." Fully aware of how this was essentially a suicide mission, Masuku still struggled through the forest, not even sure which way he was supposed to be going. Masuku realized that Joshua hadn't spoken a word since the battle against the Wold Navi. He shouted "Hey, Josh, got any idea of where to go?" wondering about what the Navi would do to Narcoleptina.

"N-no...What you said back there got me thinking...What would I do if you got deleted..." Joshua sighed, the happy-go-lucky tone he unusually had, absent from his voice. Instead, he had a serious and worried tone, that made him sound like a whole other person.

"Let me guess? You wouldn't be able to go anything." Masuku sighed, beginning to run before shouting "Narcoleptina...wait for me, and I will come...Give up, and I will still return!" He also hoped he would run into a virus or two that would yield a heal chip to act as a last resort.

"I don't care if I die here, I will protect things important to me, no matter what" He sighed as his fox mask appeared on his face and he prepared to attack, knowing that he had no chance. "Its funny how a cornered dog fights, isn't it...sure to die, sure to fight...and if I lose will I also lose my life, I wonder" he thought aloud.

Via the microphone within the mask, you could hear Joshua saying "Yeah, and lets not name our attacks this time". Both of their voices seeming less lively, and seemed like they accepted the apparent mistake as their responsibility.

Joshua then slid the HeatShot Battlechip into the P.E.T., as Masuku's weapon glowed red, as he fired a ball of fire in the direction of the wolf navi, praying that it hit.

Joshua then whispered "If he comes in up close, use the shield Battlechip and then if he does any attacks afterwards, try to dodge those, as he then slid the Shield Battlechip into the P.E.T., hoping that they were in luck.

Masuku helped Narcoleptina up before asking the wolf navi "If you want that package, how about we have a fight, could be a bad move, I know...but I will do anything to protect the belongings of someone I consider a friend...and them in general." He then prepared his Pyre Pistol, hopping the wolf decided to show why NetNavis usually ran from him.

"God.... What is your problem with us? All we are here to do is to deliver something to someone, so nothing of importance to you should be in there!" Masuku shouted at the navi, angry at both the situation, and how the vibe he got from the navi was sort of correct. "Plus, it isn't right in any way to look through the possessions of a young girl, especially when she is unconscious" he added, trying to buy himself and Narcoleptina more time. He also added "And especially if she is a friend of mine....or somewhere close to being a friend" after that, sighing to himself due to him having the intention to think those words, not say them. Masuku then readied his Pyre Pistol and got prepared to fight the NetNavi.

"...I...have no idea where the path went. Should we go back and take a different path?" Masuku sighed as he checked his Pyre Pistol, expecting the situation to turn sour very quickly, anticipating all the possible angles they could be attacked from. His expression also became quite serious despite his voice now carrying a hint of worry, and he wondered if he was expecting the wolf NetNavi to attack them, or if he was just paranoid that the wold NetNavi had planned to get them lost so they could be attacked by viruses and he could take their stuff later on.

"If I say to get behind me, then please do it, Narcoleptina. It could just be me...but something seems wrong" his voice sounded stern, worried, and gentle all at the same time as Masuku told his Operator to prepare a battlechip for if they got attacked.

"He...he said apparently the road on the right is the needle road and it is apparently shorter, and strait, but with more viruses. And this one on the left is the nail road. This one is apparently longer, easier to get lost on and has less viruses but...I'm not sure I trust him..." Masuku sighed, as he helped Narcoleptina up before telling her "I'll let you decide which way we go, but he gave me a 'wolf from a children's story' kinda vibe...so...be careful with your decision."

"Oooooohhhh God!" Masuku sighed to himself as Narcoleptina hit the ground, unconscious. He looked around as he pulled out a Pyre Pistol and looked around him. "Well...with Narcoleptina out cold, all I can do is wait here. And when one of us is unable to fight, that would be when viruses attack...if viruses are capable of that level of thought." He said to himself as he checked on Narcoleptina before scanning the surrounding forest and preparing for a battle.

"Um...well...I accepted the mission because I like helping people and I am quite good at battling...and...when I said you sleeping thing was cute...I didn't mean it. It's just that when I'm nervous and around new people, I say things differently to how I'm thinking them. I don't know if it is a condition, or a bug. But, yeah...I also haven't taken up a mission before...so yeah, don't take that sleeping thing to heart." Masuku sighed as he looked to the ground with a somewhat worried and upset expression on his face.

"Also, and don't judge me on this, but because of that speech thing, I only have one friend, my Operator..." Masuku sighed, expecting her to laugh at him or possibly attempt to move away from him slightly.

"Ok, yeah, lets get going. And Narcoleptina is a nice name" Masuku said , shaking Narcoleptina's hand when she offered to shake his hand, and it is ok that none of your friends can help out, since I love helping people anyway!

"And anyway, that whole sleeping thing is kinda cute in a way.....D-did I just say that out loud?" Masuku sighed, as he began to blush and began looking for something to distract himself with again.

"Uh...hi. I'm looking to the NetNavi who issued a mission. Are you the person who issued the mission or do you have any idea who did? Masuku asked as he warily waved back, almost blushing as he looked around, looking for a way to distract himself.

"Come on, Josh. Help me out here" he whispered to his Operator, who hadn't spoken since Masuku had arrived at the camping ground.

Yeah, that sounds like a great mission, sounds fun too! So, yeah, I accept the mission!

Hey, ummm, hi, my name is Masuku.EXE or just Masuku for short. My NetNavi is called Joshua Galaco but you can just call him Josh, if you want to.
But anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any standard missions we could try to do or just lend a hand in. We aren't asking for much of a reward, just a Battlechip or Zenny, we would be fine with deleting viruses, thank you in advance! Bye.

"Hell yeah! We won!" Joshua shouted punching the air before asking his NetNavi what he thought of their victory.

"Josh, you wonder what I think of our victory? Well, I think it really, freaking AWESOME!" Masuku shouted, as he punched the air in a similar pose as his Operator, before collecting the new Battlechip and zenny.

"So, Masuku, think you can go another round?" Joshua asked his best friend, with an excited look on his face.

"Go another round?! Of course I can! Those Mettools didn't land a single hit on me!" Masuku shouted to his Operator before sending him the Battlechip and zenny.

"I just got an idea! How about we try a mission, I mean, we are probably good enough!" Joshua asked, as he smiled, believing in his NetNavi's power and abilities as well as his own.

"Sure, I bet it would be fun! Jack me out!" Masuku.EXE smirked, before disappearing from the net.

"Hey, we deleted two of the mettools, and the final one is defending!" shouted an enthusiastic Masuku, as he viewed the results of his turn. "How about we try our signature attack?" Masuku then suggested to his Operator.

"Yeah, two down one to go!....and using our signature attack sounds like a good idea, so...Lets do this thing!" Joshua laughed as he punched the air befre shouting "By the power of fire and hope combined, I call upon the power of the net, MASS DESTRUCTION!"

"Geez, that was super cheesy....but anyway, Viruses, prepare to meet your maker!" Masuku sighed, as a second Pyre Pistol appeared in his left hand and he opened fire in the direction of the lone Mettool.

"Ok, and if that Mettool thinks he can come back for seconds, lets give it to him, IN FULL!" Joshua screamed out as he pulled out a Shotgun battlechip and slammed it into the P.E.T. as Masuku.EXE's second Pyre Pistol disappeared and his original one turned gray before he fired out a single piercing bullet at the Mettool.

"Ok, if that doesn't take him out then be prepared to dodge his attacks, Masuku!" Joshua shouted, the excitement in his eyes enough to rival the excitement of a 5 year old on a sugar rush.

"Ok, you ready for battle, Joshua?!" shouted Masuku.EXE as his weapon appeared in his right hand and he prepared for the viruses to start attacking him.

"You bet I am! I'm using the cannon battlechip, so get ready!" Joshua enthusiastically responded, taking the battlechip out of his bag and slammed it into the P.E.T. as Masuku.EXE's regular weapon, the pyre pistol, disappeared and the cannon from the picture on the battlechip appeared. Masuku.EXE then fired the cannon in the direction of MettoolA.

"Ok, Masuku, it's time for HeatShot!" Joshua shouted as he pulled the HeatShot battle chip out of his bag, span it round, and dramatically slammed it into the slot in the P.E.T. as Masuku.EXE's pyre pistol reappeared and he fired it, sending a piercing ball of fire towards MettoolB.

"Ok, if those shots hit home, then we will be in luck, but I suggest we leave the last Mettool out of this until the other two are deleted!" Masuku.EXE shouted to his operator, hoping that he wouldn't mess up and lose the fight.

"Ok, don't worry, and I also think we need to go on the defensive. So, Masuku, prepare to dodge anything those viruses throw at you!" Joshua shouted to his NetNavi as he began watching the viruses, prepared for when they attacked.

"Ok, now Joshua said I just need to find a virus to fight...easier said than done it seems."


Masuku.EXE looks around for any viruses.

"Hey?! Any Viruses here?! I'm ready for a fight!"

Joshua stepped off the train at ACDC station and looked at the sky, covering his eyes as he listened to music.

"Earth to Joshua!"

"Huh?...Oh! Yeah, we need to find a place to jack in to the net."

Joshua dashed towards a squirrel statue near the chip shop and pulled up his hood.

"Hey, Joshua, you ready? Cuz I am!"

"You bet I am, Masuku, so lets do this! Masuku.EXE, Jack In!"

Joshua points a sensor on his PET at the 'Jack In' port of the statue as Masuku.EXE disappears from the screen.
