After jacking out her NetNavi from the net, Raila wasted no time to pack her things while talking to her NetNavi about what happened.

"I still don't like viruses. But that Melody is somehow different from the ones we fight before," FireFlower spoke up.

"Maybe it has a personality. My Dad said that viruses tend to have sentient programmings and tend to wander instead of destroying the net," Raila explained. "I mean, you have one and I'm not complaining about it."

"True. But still, after meeting that Melody, a part of me felt I want to pet it."

"Hehe... I just hope you won't get jacked out because you only want a hug."

"Anyways, how many Zennies did we get from those viruses?" F.F. asked in curiosity.

Realizing the true reason of their battles, Raila checked on her PET and says, "About 420z."

"What?! That small?! Oh well, I guess I can battle more later."

"Yeah. Right now, let's head off to Electown with my parents."

Now seeing that her backpack is now packed, Raila grabbed her PET and put it in her holster attached to her black single loop belt before she grabbed her bag and head out from her room to meet with her parents.

Outside Raila's house, Raila meet up with her parents, who are now inside their family van.

"Ready to go, honey?" Her Mom asked to her daughter.

"Yeah and so does Fire."

"Good. I hope you didn't do anything net-related that almost made you late," her father said with a smile, which Raila shivers in fear upon hearing that.

"Uh, no Dad! I'm just packing my bag, that's all! Right, Fire?" Raila sheepishly explained, which her Navi sheepishly nodded in approval.

"Alright, let's go."

With that said, Raila's father started the car as they head off to Electown.

"Now that's completely weird," F.F. said, now completely shocked at the sudden turn of events as her bear claw disappears.

"At least there's a bright side to this. We learn that not all viruses are bad and you just made a friend!" Raila sheepishly said to her completely shell shocked NetNavi.

Although she wanted to shout at her about her comment, she kinda got a little fuzzy when the Melody nuzzled against her leg. She then blushed at this and says, "Well, at least I still able to beat those three viruses. That counts as a virus bust, right?"

"Yeah." Raila then looks at her clock, which is 7:45 AM. Just in time to her to leave for Electown. "And since we now have two battles, it's time for us to go!"

"Yeah, log me out already."

"Huh? That's very unusual for you to say that," Raila asked in confusion, considering how she always begged her to stay to fight more viruses instead of logging out.

"After what just happened, I'm glad you made that two battle condition, Rai," F.F. answered, seeing she can't get that Melody out of her head.

"Okay... Jack out time, Fire."

With that, FireFlower left the internet in a flash.

"Uh, did I just made a virus cry?" F.F. asked in confusion.

"Yes and you better apologize," Raila said in a stern manner.

F.F. couldn't believe her ears! First she needs to talk the virus, now she needs to apologize?! "What?! No way I will apologize to a virus!"

But Raila continues to glare at her in anger. She doesn't like viruses, too. But seeing how her Navi hurt the virus's feelings, it's best to apologize. Seeing her glare, F.F. groans in defeat. "Fine!"

F.F. then quickly tries to chase the fleeing Melody and tries to dodge it's attacks. After that, she then says to the virus, "Wait! I'm sorry I yelled. Look, I'm not mad and anything. Just please, forgive me!"

F.F. and Raila are completely confused, she managed to defeat the 3 viruses, but why is the Melody isn't attacking them?

"Okay, this virus is completely creeps me out. Should I eliminate it?" F.F. said as she about to slash the virus with her bear claw.

"Not yet. That virus doesn't look like it can attack us," Raila guessed. "Maybe we should talk to it?"

"What?! Talk to a virus?!"

"I don't want you to get hurt or let this virus get angry, so what choice do we have?"

F.F. groans at her idea. Sure, she likes taking out viruses, but talking to them? "If that's what you want."

However, Raila noticed something below her Navi. "But before that, you might wanna move."

"Why?" F.F. asked in confusion.

Raila sheepishly points something below F.F. When the NetNavi looked down, she realized that she's standing on the cracked panel! "Oh, snap!"

She then quickly tries to run to a non-cracked panel behind her and tries to dodge one of Melody's attacks. It's safe to say that she was completely peeved after that. "Hey, what's the big idea?! Are you planning to let me fall into that cracked panel?!" F.F. angrily shouted to the Melody.

F.F. was mad for a second. A Melody is about to jump on her, but it only landed near her instead, much to her relief. "Man, that was a close one!"

"Too close. But I don't think that's an attack," Raila said. "Try to dodge more and take out the last Beetank, then we'll see what happens."

"If you say so..."

Although she likes to defeat the viruses so bad, F.F. decided to follow Raila's orders, not wanting to get hurt even more. She quickly rushed to the Beetank to do a melee attack, dodge a virus's attack, then rushed onto the Beetank and slashes it with her bear claw.

"Ow! These viruses are a lot tougher than I thought," F.F. said in pain.

"Well, the more battles we enter, the harder we'll finish it fast," Raila said, now feeling that this battle is not easy to defeat as she noticed that there are more cracked panels than before. And not only that, her NetNavi has taken damage due to the explosion earlier. "The worst case scenario is that she might take more damage if we don't do something. Plus that music note virus isn't attacking yet. Need to play it safe."

"Fire, dodge both of their attacks and the explosions and keeping slashing them with RageClaw!" Raila ordered. "But don't hit the Melody yet."

"Are you serious?!" F.F. said in shock, wanting to bust all of the viruses at once.

"Like I said before, don't attack it until it attacks you."

F.F. then groans at this and says, "Fine! But if it did, you're going to owe me big time if I EJO!"

The Navi then tries to dodge the viruses' attacks and uses her claws to slash the first Beetank first, then the next Beetank.

"Oh, a bomb-throwing bombs, a bunny, and a music note virus? This should be interesting," F.F. said with a determined smirk.

"Yeah, but that last virus worries me. Maybe it's not gonna attack us," Raila wondered. "Well, just in case, you need to take care of the first three viruses, Fire."

"What?! Not all of them?!"

"Just until that Melody attacks, then we'll delete it," Raila said as she puts two battlechips onto her PET. "I've sent you the ShotGun and RageClaw1 again to deal with those three. But be careful of the cracked panels."

"I'll be careful, Rai. Time to do some virus busting!"

F.F.'s hand turned into a ShotGun to shoot the Bunny. Then she tries to dodge one of the viruses' attack before her cannon turns into a bear claw and used it to slash the first Beetank.

"And don't come back, you clueless ghosts!" F.F. shouted at the destroyed viruses as her bear claw turned back to hand. "That's one battle down, shall we continue, op?"

"Yeah, le-"

"Raila!"

Hearing her mother from downstairs, Raila startled a bit as she dropped her PET on the floor. "We're almost done packing! Did you took a bath and dressed already?"

"Um, yeah! I'm packing my stuff in my backpack, so I'm busy with it," Raila said as she recovered her PET from the floor.

"Okay, we'll leave at 45 minutes. Don't be late, sweetie," her Mom said from downstairs.

"Don't worry, I will be downstairs in a minute!" Raila said before turning her attention to her Navi in her PET screen. "Which we only have to bust some viruses, Fire."

"Don't worry, I will speed the next one up. I promise!" F.F. said as she gives her operator a thumbs up.

"I hope so."

F.F. then run off to find a next set of viruses to battle with.

"Okay, that didn't work. Raila, did you even read how the RollingLog1 worked?!" F.F. said in anger.

"Sorry, no time, okay!" Raila said in annoyance before she starts thinking again. "Okay, two viruses left. And the only chip I have left is the RageClaw. But with more cracked panels, Fire's gonna have a hard time making melee attacks. Oh well, gonna try it at least."

Putting her last chip in her PET, F.F.'s hand turns into a bear claw as Raila says, "That's my last chip for this battle! Avoid the attacks and cracked panels and put those viruses in their place!"

"Whatever to speed this battle up, Rai!" F.F. said with a smirk.

She then tries to charge to the first Spooky and tries to attack it by slashing with her claw. Then she tries to dodge one of the viruses' attack and tries to attack the last virus.

"GRAAAGGGHHH!!!! Gross!!!!"

F.F. quickly get rid of the ghost drool off her as her operator started to wonder how their strategy failed. "Okay, maybe I've underestimated them a little. And with those cracked panels are making this difficult, I need to change strategies."

"Fire, keep using the log on the Spooky viruses! I'm sending you another battlechip after that!" Raila ordered.

"As long I got my revenge on those freaks, count me in!"

F.F. then quickly rolled another log to the Spooky, hoping it would hit all of them this time. And as promised, Raila puts another chip on her PET, revealing it's a Shotgun as F.F. tries to dodge another one of the viruses' attack with her hand transforming into a shotgun and aimed it to the OldStove and tries to shoot it down.

FireFlower was expecting a bigger virus to encounter with. Too bad for her, she came across a campfire with three familiar faces and a new one disguised as a bonfire, which a furnace/stove-like virus.

"Great, more ghosty viruses and a stove virus," F.F. said in a deadpanned tone. "How old does this horror-themed get? And more importantly, can that stove realized that it's not a bonfire?"

"Fire, focus! We need to take out these viruses fast before my parents wake up and finished preparing for the trip," Raila reminded her.

"Right! Give me your best chips, Raila!"

She quickly obliged that request as she grabbed some battlechip while thinking, "Since one of them looks like it's element is fire, RollingLog1 might not affect it since it might burn the logs, so..."

She then puts the battlechips into her PET as she says, "Cannon and RollingLog1 coming your way! Aim to latter to the stove virus and dodge as always!"

"Roger!" F.F said as her hand turned into a Cannon, which she tries to shoot the OldStove. Then, she tries to dodge an attack and rolls a log to some Spooky viruses.

Once again, FireFlower is in the net again, who is became excited at this. Although her operator was supposed to leave for Electown, she lets her do some virus busting before they leave.

"I'm so pumped up for this!" she said in excitement. "Where are those viruses? Let me at 'em, let me at 'em!"

However, Raila stops her over excitement. Although they need to bust some viruses, she didn't forget that they will leave in two hours.

"Hang on, Fire! We promised that we only do two battles today. Otherwise, my folks will have my neck again."

"Oh right." She wanted to stay longer, but seeing her operator in trouble yesterday, she doesn't want that to happen again. "Well then, let's not waste more time here!"

"Yeah, let's go, Fire."

F.F. then starts looking for some viruses to bust.

With her NetNavi jacked out of the net, Raila wasted no time to get downstairs to meet up with her parents. When she did, she stopped in her tracks to see them sitting on the sofa, glaring at their daughter.

"Uh-oh..."

"So, anything exciting in your room lately?" her mother asked in curiosity.

"Oh, nothing eventful upstairs!" Raila said in panic. "Just doing some homework!"

"Homework, huh? Cause the last time I remember, you already finished it a week ago and it's summer vacation already."

"Oh no..."

She forgot it's her summer vacation already. How long is she in that room anyway?

"Oh, did I said homework? I mean my school project!" she said in panic. "I need to finish it before vacation's over! Hehe..."

However, her father approached his daughter and says, "Don't try to lie, young lady! You've been in the internet, have you?"

"What makes you say that?"

And without a warning, her PET quickly beep, scaring Raila out of her wits as she accidentally drops it in the process. Before she can even picks it up, her Dad grabs it and saw Raila's NetNavi is still being repaired after what happened, which he guessed why Raila is holed up in her room for an hour.

"Does this answer your question?"

Seeing that she is busted, Raila hung her head in defeat.

After a while, Raila returned back into her bedroom after that. She's been with her parents the whole day, shopping for groceries. Although she gets bored easily when she is shopping, she wants to do it so she can get out of her house and the internet for a while. However, that gives her no time to repair F.F. from her previous battle. She then pulls out her PET and continues her repairs on her Navi as FireFlower says, "You don't have to do this to spend your summer vacation."

"Tell that to my Navi who wants to risk her life to bust some viruses to get stronger," Raila said. "Besides, I've already been the beach several times during my past summer vacations and all I want to do is to spend my time in ACDC without any accidents."

"Well, all I can say is so not fair, because you've been the beach many times while I'm stuck here in your PET."

"Don't look at me, ask my parents. They said the viruses in Beach Street's network is somehow strong."

"Then maybe I can bust more viruses in ACDC's network so I can get stronger!"

Although she wants to protest that idea, Raila's Navi does make a good point. She really wants to visit a beach in the network once in a while. But with viruses running amuck if what her parents said was true, then she will become worried about her well-being. However, her thoughts are broken as F.F. says, "Hey, Raila! Now that I think about it, we got a new battlechip from that earlier battle, right? How can we get more chips?"

Hearing her Navi says that made Raila realized about it. She only has three battlechips before she got the RollingLog1. What if she gets more chips? However, seeing her money even after getting some prize money from their earlier battles...

"Well, we can buy some at the chip store near here. But..."

"But what?"

"Judging from my Zennies, I can't even afford one measly battlechip..."

F.F. frowned about this, seeing that she can't get more battlechips with her lack of Zennies, unless...

"Well, what about more virus busting tomorrow? That way, the more viruses we battle, the more Zennies enough to buy some battlechips!"

"I don't know..." Raila said, unsure of this until her Navi begged. "PLEASE!!! I really need to get strong enough to beat baddies and viruses AND get to go on a beach like you!"

Seeing her puppy-dog eyes and her desperation to experience summer vacation for once, what choice does she have?

"Alright, we'll do some more virus busting. But after we returned from Electown."

"Electown?" F.F. asked, confused at first until she remembers it. "Oh, I remember!"

She then pulls out Raila's schedule and says, "You're supposed to go there because your Dad has business-related things to do and your Mom visiting a shop to buy that kitchen oven or something..."

"Yeah. And return back home in here the next day."

"Oh. Well, that's too bad..."

Although she wants to get there as soon as possible tomorrow, she noticed FireFlower's hint of disappointment. Remembering that battle, she also reminded her that she is half responsible that F.F. almost EJO.

"Well, I always woke up at 6 AM and we won't leave until 8 AM, right? So let's have 2 virus battles first before I head out to Electown with my folks. After that, we'll do more virus battles after we got back the next day," Raila suggested. "Sounds good?"

Listening to her suggestion made F.F. became excited at this as she nodded in agreement.

"Good. Your repairs should be done by the morning I wake up, so rest up, Fire."

"Okay, good night, Rai!" F.F. said in a cheerful manner as her operator goes to bed.

"Yeah, good night... Fire..."

As she went to her slumberland, she prays nothing will happen tomorrow.

The next day, Raila woke up at 6 AM, just like as she predicted. And after she took a bath, she dressed up and heads to her computer desk with her PET ready.

"All charged up and ready to go, Raila! Just jack me up!" F.F. said in glee.

"All right. And remember, we only need 2 battles. No more, okay?" Raila reminded her Navi.

"Okay! Just get me into the net now!"

"Right! Jack in, FireFlower! Execute!"

With her Link PET ready, she jacked her Navi into the net once again.

Seeing the last virus flattened and faded into ones and zeroes, Raila and F.F. stared at the now empty battlefield, speechless at what just happened.

"No... way..."

"I... beat the virus..." F.F. said, now shellshocked before he chuckles at this. "I bust that stupid bear virus... I... I..."

"I DID IT!!!!"

F.F. then jumps for joy and dances, celebrating her another victory as she says, "Oh man, I thought I was a goner! I almost got squashed there until I managed to survived back there and also, there's your new battlechip saving the day! And also, your plan to defeating that wolf virus without telling me to dodge. Oh, that's so completely awesome!!!"

As her NetNavi continues to celebrate, Raila sighs in exhaustion, relieved that her NetNavi survived that ordeal. However, upon seeing her stack of battlechips, she realized that she has some Mini-Energy sub-chips all along. She must have worried about her NetNavi about to have the same fate as her Dad's old NetNavi, that she must have forgot about it. Still, she was happy that her NetNavi survived.

"At least Fire's happy. I'm just relieved that she will be on my side forever..."

However, upon seeing her NetNavi's health and also her clock in her room, Raila decided it's time to go.

"Okay, you have your battles like you wanted to. Time to log out," she said to her NetNavi, which she stopped celebrating upon hearing her.

"Oh come on! Can I just have one more battle?" F.F. whined.

"Oh no! You're completely injured from the last battle. Plus, I need to go downstairs right now or my parents are going to kill me if we skip it."

"Don't worry! I'm up for anoth-"

Her sentence was interrupted as she collapsed due to her injuries.

"You were saying?"

"Okay, maybe I do need a break once and a while," F.F. sheepishly said.

"I thought so."

She then puts a jack out command in her PET and says, "Time to jack out, Fire!"

With that said, FireFlower left the net, despite severely injured, she enjoyed the battles in the net once and a while. She also hoped that her operator also enjoyed it, too, despite the setbacks.

"FIRE!!!"

Raila's eyes widened in horror as she saw her NetNavi squashed by the stone cube. Luckily, F.F. managed to endure it as she is lying down on the ground.

"Fire, FIRE!!!" Raila shouted many times to her fallen Navi. But to her relief, she has enough strength to stand up.

"Man, I got very reckless, do I?" F.F. groaned in pain, but grins in determination.

Raila sighs in relief, but still guilty about this. She was the one who rushed into things again.

"No, I'm the one who got reckless, Fire," Raila said in depressed tone. "If you haven't dodge, you wouldn't be in this sticky situation now."

"Hey, it's a price to pay to get revenge on that bear. Look," F.F. said as she points at the Teddy, who is somehow injured due to her attack."Looks like I made a big damage, huh?"

Raila was happy that F.F. was able to hit the Teddy. However, she became guilty at this, feeling that she might have the same fate as her Dad's old NetNavi. Seeing this made her decision on her next move.

"Fire, let's retreat for n-"

"No way."

Shocked at what her NetNavi just said, Raila shouts, "Why not?! You said that if you're in a critical danger, I have to log you out! You're completely injured and you need repairs right now!"

"I know what I said, but after what it did to me, I really want to finish this crazy bear virus once and for all," F.F. said with a determined smirk. "Besides, I want to get stronger, strong enough to Netbattle anyone and protect you guys from any techno danger."

Hearing those words not only worries Raila, but inspires her. What if her Dad's old NetNavi were in a same situation and refuses to give up? She knew that she's one hit away to lose, but she wants to let her NetNavi to get stronger to succeed what her Dad's old Navi started. Upon tightening her fists, she noticed something in it and unfolds it to see a battlechip that she won from an earlier battle.

"Well, I have a last battlechip. It came from after winning our second virus battle," Raila explained. "Think you can use to bust that Teddy?"

"Anything to put this mocking bear in it's place!" F.F. said as she cracks her fists together.

"All right. I'm sending it to you now!"

Putting the RollingLog1 chip into her PET, she then says, "This is your last chance! Remember to dodge and give it all you got!"

"Don't worry! I won't lose to the likes of it!"

Pulling out a log thanks to Raila's battlechip, F.F. quickly rolls it down to the ground as she says, "THIS IS FOR THAT ROCK CUBE PUMMEL ON ME, YOU STUPID BEAR!"

The log then rolls down to Teddy and she tries to dodge from it's attacks before she quickly pulls out another log to roll down to Teddy.

"Hey! What happened to my claw?!" F.F. said in shock after her Rageclaw is broken.

Then Raila quickly loads two battlechips into her PET and says to her NetNavi, "Forget about the claw, Fire. I already load two chips, so use Cannon first, then the Shotgun! And if you're wondering where that bear virus is, I saw it escaping next to another giant stone cube next to it!"

"Roger!"

With her buster turned into a cannon, FireFlower aimed it at the Spikey and tries to shoot it. After that, she jumps down from cube and heads to next cube where the Teddy is before her cannon turned into a shotgun and shoots it to the bear virus, with her and Raila's hopes on nothing can go wrong about this.

However, Raila noticed F.F.'s claws are starting to break, considering how many strikes she made. "Great, this bear virus not blocked all our attacks, but the Rageclaw already reached it's limit. Unless..."

"Fire! After dodging and using the claws on the wolf, I'm going to send you another battlechip to blast those virus out!" Raila ordered her NetNavi.

"Are you sure?" F.F. asked in confusion.

"Trust me," Raila said in a determined grin.

Upon seeing her grin, F.F., despite not knowing what she is planning, smiles back as she turned around and glares at the viruses. "You already had your fun! But now, it's time to put where your virus necks are going to be: data dust!"

She then jumps to the stone cube where the Spikey is and tries to dodge it's attack before going in to slash the Spikey. However, slashing the virus caused her Rageclaw to break into pieces.

"Yeah, me too. But the main problem would be that wolf virus on the top of the next stone cube," Raila thought. "There might be a chance of ambush, so we have to keep our guard up."

She then ordered her NetNavi, "Fire, do what you want to do, but keep your guard as always!"

"Music to my ears! Time to turn you into data dust, you wannabe bear!" F.F. said as she charged in with her bear claw once more to slash the Teddy. After trying to dodge either one of the viruses' attacks, she attempts to throw the Teddy to the stone cube where the Spikey is standing.

After seeing her NetNavi defeated a Spooky and dodged another stone cube, Raila saw the Teddy moving to another stone, leaving it exposed, which she realized that this might their chance.

"Fire! You wanted to face off against a bear, right? After you eliminate that last Spooky, go get 'em!" Raila said to her Navi.

"Thought you never asked!" F.F. said in excitement. "I've been bored of fighting small viruses all day!"

With that, she tries to slash the Spooky and tries to jump through stone cubes to get to the Teddy and attempts to slash it with her RageClaw.

Upon seeing the next set of viruses, Raila became horrified at this, wondering if her NetNavi survived this battle. Despite she was able to dodge it, she was still concerned about her safety.

"A werewolf, two ghosts, and an angry bear? How ridiculous can they get?" FireFlower said in a bored tone after dodging the cube-shaped rock. "I mean, I like dogs. But that wolf virus just plain crazy."

"Stop mocking them, Fire. Get your head in the game already!" Raila scolded to her Navi. "Otherwise, it will came back to bite you in your face. Literally."

"Fine, fine! Send me some battlechips so I can turn these viruses into data dust!"

Raila then comply to her Navi and sent some battlechips to her PET, but stopped upon seeing the battlefield on her PET screen.

"Wait, one of the ghost viruses is hiding behind the stone cube and the Teddy is hiding behind another stone cube as well... I don't want to get rash about this..."

Now getting an idea, Raila only sent one battlechip, which is actually a RageClaw1 as F.F.'s buster turned into a bear claw.

"Fire, try to eliminate the Spooky that isn't hiding behind the stone cubes first!" Raila ordered to her Navi

"What?! Can I try fighting the wolf and bear viruses first?" F.F. whined until she sees her operator's glare at her. "Fine..."

Then she tries to jump onto the stone where the first Spooky is and tries to slash it with her Rageclaw.
