Jungle Training

The flames from the Totem began to spread out all over the place, burning the grass crisp and even chewing through the base of not one, but two trees at once. However, due to the Totem's short height, it wasn't able to spread its flame up towards Runi and only forced the girl down to the burned grass. "Argh! No respect to nature at all! Then you must have no respect for womans as well...HAHAHA, That was a good one!"

Runi turned towards the Totem and gave a stern look down at it and gave it a kick, flip it to its passive white face. "Don't do it again, got it?"

A smile quickly cross Trent's face as he realized that Runi cared more about the plants and trees around the poison panels than she actually did about fighting Him. She wouldn't focus her attention on killing the totem fully because that would distract her from him, and for as long as the totem was standing, Trent would be able to tank his way through the damage she dealt out, since he would be healed every turn. 'Once the totem is gone I will use the feel no pain mode, with the totem there I will have a great tactical advantage. I should protect that totem a bit.'

Mark, wasn't thinking in the battle in the same way that Trent was. He was slightly put off by what Runi had said. "Those lines didn't even make any sense." He said not sure how Runi managed to make the connection and why she cared so much. "This girl is weird." He said once more to reiterate the point. "What chips do you need for her?"

"Riskyhoney." Trent answered. Mark wasted no time slotting it in, unsure how a riskyhoney would help Trent in this battle.

Trent placed one of his knives back into the sheath, only to pull out another blade. As the sheath became empty, a buzzing noise was heard from the sheath. A Few bees started to buzz out of the sheath, and before long the entire hive was out and buzzing around. Trent gripped his two knives tightly as he started to move forwards, each being held in a reverse grip. The bees, started to buzz off as well, but they weren't following Trent. Trent was heading straight towards Runi, where as the bees were going to the totem. Hopefully the distraction of the hive would be enough for Trent to get close and get his first, crucial, attack off.

Trent could feel the poison pulsing through his programming from that, dealing a minor amount of damage. Trent really needed the protection of the Totem if he hoped to delete the bipolar Runi. Feet connected with the panels of the netways in a measured manner, creating a steady aggressive beat as the warrior move in to attack Runi. He knew he wouldn't be able to out speed the crafty acrobat, and switched his right handed knife to a reverse grip blade back in preparation for his first assault. The measured strides of the warrior came closer to Runi, and Trent held his aggressive stance, up until he was right before Runi. Once there he droped his shoulders and torso low, leading with his left foot and his right hand. The blade extended beyond the knee cap of Runi, not attemping damage in doing so; that is until the blade was sharply pulled back towards Trent. With the blade going beyond the knee of Runi, and the blade facing himself, the attack would be very crippling to someone who depended on speed to be able to attack. And getting some of her life chipped away wasn't a bad start either.

After pulling the blade back towards himself, Trent took a step beyond where he though Runi's leg would be, and pivoted on his right foot to turn around and be behind the girl. Left blade at the ready, Trent flipped the hand grip of it, changing it to saber, as he found the girl's spine with his eyes. Trent took a deep breath, turned the blade where the widest points where facing outwards, creating a flat blade. He grabbed for Runi's shoulders, to pull her back onto the blade as he shoved it forwards, attempting to ensure the attacks safe delivery.

The attacks had taken their toll on the warrior due to the poison in his system, and He was nearly short of breath from the flow of poison through his system. 'There shouldn't be much more of that junk remaining in my system, and getting the heal will help with any pain for sure.' Trent reassured himself.

Mark was watching intently, trying to figure out in what ways he could best help Trent with chips. "Nothing is really here to help slow her down much," he said. "There are these low damage zap rings, which would be useful in a bit, lets see how these knife attacks play would before I worry about sending things in. Let hope those attacks go of as planned, Trent would be at a major advantage if they did."

As Trent began his assault against Runi, the female navi also began hers as she charged forward with only her barefoot as he weapon. Runi saw the horde of bees heading towards the Totem to protect it, but she could care less about it and continued with her offense. "Jeesh, is that thing filled with honey? I could've sworn that it was going to attack me!"

Closing the distance between herself and Trent, Runi began her series of somersaults once more and landed on her hands once more. She began to spin with her legs spread out, creating a circular motion as she managed to hit Trent multiple times before she stopped. However, because of the attack, she had her legs wide open as Trent had an wide opening to attack with his knives.

In a flash, the navi's legs and her back was cut up by Trent's knife and forced her to tumble down to the ground as her arms went out. "Ahaha...Sharp things are dangerous, dangerous, dangerous!" Despite her wounds, she flipped back up to her feet and jumped up into the air, almost reaching up to the level of the tree. "Just go away already!" She positioned her feet straight forward as she clenched both her hands into fists, slowly descending down before she gained tremendous amount of speed to drop straight down onto her enemy.

Runi crashed down to the ground and a cloud of smoke quickly puffed up into the air. Fortunately, Trent was able to dodge the attack by the hair and took a few steps back. As the smoke subsided, it was revealed that the attack practically broke through the panels and half of her leg was embedded in the broken panel. "Damn, it was a miss!" She easily pulled her leg out of the broken debris and positioned herself into a fighting stance once more, nonchalant about how much destruction she created on her own home...

After the smoke cleared and the attack damage to the terrain was shown, Mark made an audible gulp over the private line to Trent. "That's no bueno. No Bueno at all!" He looked through the chip pile trying to figure out which ones would best help Trent in this fight, but nothing was coming to mind other than the zapring chip. His navi was leaps and bounds ahead of him in this fight, knowing far more about the tactical side of fighting Runi. Mark was reminded in this instant how much he still had to learn about Trent, and how he should have been learning all this information prior to Leo's benevolence.

Trent straightened his back and rolled his shoulders back in a stretch while locking eyes with Runi. "For someone who is so protective of this area, you sure are going to great means to destroy it." Trent said mockingly. He paid no attention to potential damage that could have been done, like Mark did, and merely focused on the new terrain element, a few broken panels. 'Those will be very dangerous.' He thought. 'If I fall in its game over, and she is far to acrobatic to bother luring into the hole, and probably far to intelligent for it. Then again, the intelligent part is probably a gross exaggeration on my part.'

Trent looked to the swarm around the totem, and then his eyes flicked back to Runi. He knew she had ignored the totem, most likely because she didn't know what the other face would do. And now that the healing structure was protected, he would be able to barrel his way through her damage and the damage of the poison, for at least as long as the totem was around. A blue light rushed over Trent as he activated the totem object to heal himself.

Trent rolled his head back to pop his neck and then lowered himself back into the attacking stance. "Ready for round two?" He asked Runi, nearly in a inviting manner. Trent couldn't lie to himself, he was thoroughly enjoying a fight he had to put a bit of thought into. Trent spoke to Mark over a private line before engaging Runi one more. "Slot in the Dashattack chip and the Kunai1 chip. They will be the most helpful here." Mark did so quickly, making sure he navi would have the chips ready when the time to use them came. Paying close attention, Mark was trying to figure out what Trent planned to do.

Trent moved in for the second wave of attacks on the acrobat. Knowing the broken panels were sitting right before Runi, he made a roll to the side to realign himself, so that accidentally falling into the hole wouldn't be an issue for him. Also, from this new angle, his wave of attacks would be far more effective. While rolling, he tried to spot a few more weaknesses in Runi's form, trying to remember the attack patterns of the girl and figuring out when the best time to strike would be. Feet back under himself, newly aligned attack angle, and Runi before him, he pushed himself up, loading the first attack chip.

Three of his throwing knives became enhanced with the data from the Kunai1 chip. A quick hand motion down to his belt, pulled the first one out, and in no less time the Knifes was above the warriors head in the ready position to be thrown. Trent took a slight moment to ready the attack, taking aim slightly to the right of Runi, hopeing she would dodge to the left to avoid the attack. With a fast swing of his arm, the knife was released, and his hand quickly grabbed for the second one. The second knife was aimed to go right where Trent thought Runi would dodge to from the first, and the third Trent threw towards the center of Runi's position. Trent was moving his feet forwards with each tactical throw of the knives.

After the combination of the steps and the attacks, Trent wasn't far away from Runi. His right hand grabbed for his finger ring knife, and the left held the same blade as before in saber position. This set up of his hands would give him the best range and parrying chances with his weapons. A strong step forwards thrust the Navi to be close to the acrobat. He held his left knife out for the offense, attempting to throw a strong jab to Runi's stomach. After the attack, he wasted no time bringing his large right boot up to kick the knife in further, and kick Runi away. Trent pivoted on his left toes, spinning himself back around so that his right foot was on the ground behind him.

The final chip data was being uploaded as He watched Runi. This last attack had to be lined up perfectly, because dash attack was unpredictable and He needed the damage from it to put a large dent in Runi's health. Once the proper moment revealed itself, Trent lowered his form, bracing himself as though he would be ramming a door. The first step of the attack was all Trent took on his own power, before the Dash attack pushed himself forwards rapidly, trying to run right through Runi. After the attack was over, Trent hoped to be on the other side of Runi was again, trying to keep her spinning around more and readjusting seemed like another good strategy against her.

"Oh, these panels will regrow in no time! But you! You're a weed that I need to take care of before it gets worse!" Runi went in for an attack with another jump kick, but Trent successfully rolled away from the possible skull-cracker. "Don't run! You're not making this any funner as it i...Huh? I'm feeling a little dizzy..."

The effect from the knife cuts from moment ago began to take effect as Runi began to slow down in speed. Taking this chance, Trent threw his knives and successfully knocked the navi back without trouble. The military navi decided to take the attack further on as he dashed forward for a ramming charge.

"...Enough!" Runi quickly recovered as she got back on her feet and jumped up into the air, only this time, at a normal height. Timing it with the Trent's tackle, Runi successfully countered the attack with a drop kick, but the force of the Dash attack knocked the two navis away from one another. While Runi tumbled along the ground and as did Trent, leaving a large gap in between the two.

A heavy thud was heard throughout the surrounding netways as the heavy navi Trent his hard against the ground from the Recoil of Runi's attack. He held his shoulder that he used to charge forwards tightly, feeling a sharp pain pulsing through him with each beat of his heart. Trent looked across the gap on the field at Runi, seeing her in a very similar place as he was in at the moment. A loud grunt was heard as the massive warrior pushing him self up, loud scraping noises being heard from the dragging of his boots across the ground. "That was one hell of an attack," Trent said after taking note of how high Runi had jumped compared to the large terrain changing jump from earlier.

Even with the heal, the combo of the poison and the drop kick from Runi dropped Trent lower in his HP value than he was prior. "Good thing we gathered that totem chip in the swamp after all!" Mark exclaimed when realizing this about how much Trent was hurt.

Trent looked over to the Totem Object, which was down to its final use. Only three uses from what has proven to be the most useful of all the chips he has found so far. A keeper no doubt. The thing killed terrain and trees, and did massive damage only to heal him next color change. Brilliant.

"This large gap between you two puts a rather large hamper on the fact that you both need close combat. Why don't we take advantage of this fact and throw in some range attacks before finishing the close combat damage?" Mark slotted in the sword and the machinegun1 chip. "Oh also, Trent, I'm going to Trade the machinegun 1 chip for another chip I found on a forum. Just so you know for when you asked for it and I don't have it.

Trent wasn't overly phased by the change of hands of the machinegun1 chip. He knew Mark would just get some other chip to fill the place, probably one much less useful but all the same. Trent never really enjoyed using the machinegun chip anyways. As he felt the data presence he looked to the totem, which was practically just a sphere of loud and deadly insects, in constant motion and buzzing loudly. A change of vision back to Runi, who he knew would be rushing right back into close combat as soon as she could. 'I won't if she even has any form of range attacks?' Trent thought. 'Most likely not, meaning this machinegun really will be useful!'

He cracked his back and rolled his arm that he charged with a few times hile a blue light bathed the warrior. He felt much looser, much better, and some of his pains were gone was the light made contact with his skin. He sheathed his knives, straightened his back, and held his hands up in the shoulder ready position for a RPD light machine gun, as the chip data activated and flowed through his system. The gun showed in his hands, and he sadly knew most of these attacks simply would never hit Runi. If even one of two did though, his attack wouldn't be for waste, and it would give a very nice rain of bullets for her to chew through as she charged him.

His grip tightened as the gun finished materializing, and the trigger was slowly being squeezed closer to the breaking point for the chambered bullets. One final quick squeeze once his aim was ready sent a hail of fire down the lane before him, with a very loud and powerful noise as each bullet was fired from the gun. The recoil alone caused the shot to jump around a bit, thus giving the machinegun the nature of its accuracy, very little. 'Just need a connection or two," He reminded himself, ready to jump back into the CQB with Runi.

Bullets expelled from the gun caused Trent to cast it to the side, no longer needing it as he reached for the handle of a trust blade, the eight inch knife. The extra range would be useful, and with what he had planned next he wanted to save the ten inch blade for a much more worthy cause. His mass sinking into a low stance readied him for the onslaught from Runi, after the hail of bullet towards her. He held the knife in saber position with this left hand live, a setup he hadn't used in several fighting sessions. This grip was meant for countering the motions of the opponent while still having the range needed over them. He moved forwards quickly, upon seeing a perfect chance to use his quick strikes combat tactic. The main reason he needed it, was for the loose footing he adopted after, and while using this tactic, making him far harder to hit.

With his defenses up and Runi hopefully slightly lower in health from the machinegun, like he had time to actually check in combat, he grabbed for the ten inch blade with his left hand, withdrawing it upon activating the sword chip. Blue light spilled from the sheath as he withdrew it, the soft glow of the chips weapon reflecting upon the nearby area, and the silhouette of the warrior. Pulling up memories of Runi's previous foot work and balance distribution, made him wait and watch for the right moment, before drawing the sword chip in a upwards diagonal slice across the acrobats movement path.

Trent Dropped low and ducked out of the situation after the attack. "Trent, The totem is going to be gone soon. You can't risk actually getting hit by these attacks and taking the damage anymore. You need you feel no pain right now."

Trent had little he could argue with, Mark was right here. He stepped back, making sure to pay extra care to the movement of Runi as he activated the soon triggered Trap for the knife fighter to Feel No Pain.

Though Trent thought that he had the upper hand due to Runi's possible lack of covering the distance between them, he underestimated the fact that this was Runi's home turf. "Ahhhh....CATCH!" With the end of her feet, she kicked up a splash of poison from the pool towards Trent as he was firing the machine gun all over the place. Though Runi was hit by two bullets, just like the navi predicted, the poison splashed over Trent's chest and began to burn into his skin. However, it didn't look as potent as it did before since it didn't enter his system directly.

"Up I go!" Runi quickly began to scale up the lone tree, despite its damage it sustained from the stray bullets from the machine gun, and jumped off at the top and towards her enemy. "Just die already! I don't want to look at your sick face anymore! Not cute, NOT CUTE!" She kicked her feet up to her chest and she held it up with both her hands. With yet another precise attack, Runi landed a devastating drop kick straight onto Trent's shoulder while she evaded the swift knife attack, sending a powerful shock throughout his body.

The navi tried to follow the attack with yet another kick, but the other knife Trent has prepared, along with his patience to time the attack, made a successful counter that also canceled her own attack. The military navi backed away to gain distance, as did Runi, and both returned to square one as they stared off one another at a distance apart.

Badly damaged and poisoned again, Trent backed away from Runi, seeing her do the exact same. He clutched his shoulder where he was hit very tightly, feeling the pain throughout his entire arm. He kept his eyes cold and his face expressionless, not letting Runi see the pain on his face. He let his shoulder go and rolled it backwards a few times, stretching it out.

"Trent, you are going to take more poison damage soon. The PET is going crazy over here from you status condition and low vitals. You have to end this soon, or else she will be the one to end it. This is your last chance to do anything to do. Get it done." Mark said trying to push his navi forwards. Trent didn't really need the encouragement, he planned to finish this fight this turn around regardless.

As his hand reached for his side, the shadows on his form, cast by the trees around him, began to superimpose and darken, creating a heavily inked and dramatic appearance on his form, making him look like a comic book character. Trent knew that this would be the final push of his, with Feel No Pain active. The pain from the previous attack held Trent back for another moment to catch his breath as he watched Runi and thought about his attack plan. His hand gripped the hilt of the energy sword, holding it tightly as he prepared his assault. Just the sword wouldn't be enough, so he requested the moonblade and a firehit chip from Mark.

Mark quickly slotted them in and said, "You have the advantage now. If you don't finish her you only final defense will be stealth, which won't last forever. You are running out of tricks to play here Trent, makes these count."

His inked shadows conformed to his body, changing his shadow appearance as he pushed off, leading with his right shoulder, He held the sword chip as he went, preparing a horizontal slice across Runi once he closed the gap between her. Brow down, eyes narrowed, and determined where the words that best described the warrior now. Leading with his elbow, he pulled the sword upwards and down in a downwards diagonal slash towards Runi.

His hand reached the end of the swing, and discarded the sword, the blue light fading from it the moment it was cast from his hand. A throwing knife on his belt was the next thing he grabbed for. The knife came out of the sheath in the shape and length of the kunai used by the Genin viruses. Trent set his weight into motion, spinning his right shoulder backwards, and throwing his left shoulder towards Runi as the chip went to work. The kunai outstretched as he reached the full power of the spin he was executing, trying to slash the acrobatic fighter in some acrobats of his own. Beating her at her own game.

Trent had to catch his balance and realign himself after the moonblade, he had never executed a running and spinning attack before. "Ugh that was weird!" He said out loud, not really a fan of the way the chip worked or the manner in which he attacked with it. Trent pulled two knives from his belt, ready to use the final chip Mark had sent to him. As he activated it, flames overwhelmed the knives, each glowing a bright orange, casting a strange light on the figure of the shadowed warrior. He held one knife in reverse grip, and the other in saber, and pushed off for the final attack of the fight. He led with his left saber hand, and his left foot, trying to use the jabbing attack as a feint to get her to to her left, into the real attack, a fiery slash from his right hand.

Taking advantage of the stunned navi, Runi jumped in for an attack with her devastating kick. "Ha! This is it! It was fun playing with you!" Much to her surprise, her attack simply phased through Trent and her attack couldn't land. The knife navi tried to counter her attack with a quick slash, but the nimble Runi was able to dodge the attack by the length of her hair.

"No fair, playing dirty like that is no fair!" She became reluctant to attack Trent now since her kick failed. Trent went into for another attack with his Moonblade, even going far as to add a little flare in his attack, but the cautious navi quickly dodged it and retreated back to her poison pool. "S-sink or swim!" Dipping her right feet into the pool to lace it with thick poison, Runi tried to for one last attack...but unfortunately failed, leaving her open for the fiery knife directly to her torso.

She tumbled across the field and laid motionless for a few second. "Urrggh...This is why I stay away from civilization. You men are so rough with woman." Without matching her eyes with Trent...Since her face was planted down on the ground, she threw a small data crystal at the navi and pushed her self up. "That's what you came for, right? Well? Just friggin take it!!" After handing over her "protected" item, Runi simply jacked out, leaving Trent alone in the desolated battlefield with the crystal in hand...

Trent sheathed his knife and popped more of his aching joints and muscles as the shadows on him lightened, showing the true warrior once more. "Wow. She could cause some pain she could. I need to learn to be faster in my approach." Trent was happy he had won, but was also happy that he had learned a lot in the fight. He took his victory data and sent the chip to Mark and send the zenny to his bank account. "I think I'm done for my first time out." Trent said painfully.

"This chip is outstanding!" Mark exclaimed, very happy with the item. "We can create her poison panels wherever we want with this. With the new upgrade we were planning to buy, the panels won't effect us and we will have no problem running over them while the enemies are being hurt!" Mark found an easy and dirty use for this chip, and was happy the training run, overall, was effective.

Trent saw the application of the chip, but cared little at this point in time. He jacked out of the netways, ready to recover, and get his upgrades.
