((Also get 4 bugfrags from boss))
Tennisman disengaged his cannon and walked over to where the creature had been. It was gone but in its stead laid a pile of bugfrags, a partially corroded ringlog and his racket. He picked it up and checked it over. It looked like it would need to be restrung but otherwise looked okay. He kicked the ringlog and watched as it cracked apart and wasted away into nothing. As it turned out, the chip data wasn't nearly as resilient as his personal effects.
"Well, got your racket back." Desmond said, "And some zenny."
Though he had won, it felt like an empty victory for some reason. Tennisman dismissed the thought and gathered his belongings and fled the scene quickly.

Do they have tennis courts here?

((You might want to ask a higher power, but I think you only get Bugfrags from enemies that are defeated when your SP is present.))
As Tennisman walks along, two beetanks shuffle up beside him, one on each side. A bit furthur ahead sit two spikeys, which howl when they see the navi. Back even furthur are two Genin sitting side by side, forming a small wall in front of a GeninEX. None of them look friendly, as one might imagine.

((There's no such rule. Viruses drop Bugfrags automatically as long as you have an SP.))
Tennisman stopped at the sudden appearance of the viruses. It was surprising that they had all managed to creep up him so easily. He was still aching from the previous battle and needed to recover his strength. He turned a quick glance to his side and locked onto the Beetank.
"Shotgun."
A quick flash of a cannon muzzle and the chip was spent. Tennisman stepped back and tapped his racket to the ground, bringing up a net shield without a word. There was no time for theatrics. He was heavily outnumbered and though calling Deuce out might make things easier, they could also get worse for him. Every step he made on the soft grass reminded him of the threat that the pair of Spikeys posed.
"Aquaneedle."
Just as quickly as the Shotgun before it, a rain of bubbly spikes decended on the virus in a blitz. Three chained crashing sounds gave away the point of impact and hopefully the deletion of one of his enemies. He waited for his Netplay to activate fully and restore him before attempting further attacks.
Tennisman then summoned Deuce. He beamed in from above and moved about.
1 - Shotgun BeetankA (50 damage + spread 1)
2 - Netplay (1-hit shield + 60 heal)
3 - Aquaneedle SpikeyA (3 x 20 damage) x2
4 - Summon Deuce
Deuce - dodge

((Eon and Bomber both say that the SP needs to be present for the kill to get the Bugfrags from it. Thus, no BugFrags. I told you to consult another power, not to decide on whether I was right or wrong based on what you thought. Watch it~))

Tennisman immediately picks off one of the beetank with his shotgun. He then focuses on repairing his data and insuring his safety. Once that is taken care of, he sends three needles the way of a Spikey. The first two hit, though it moves out of the way before the last one can land. Tennisman also summons Deuce. A genin then moves in from the back and as it reaches the navi, it silently pulls out a knife and cuts down his net. It makes a small retreat, after which the injured Spikey, aiming for some payback, launching a fireball into Tennisman, burning up the grass beneath his feet as well.

"You suck!" Deuce laughed as he fired off his own shot at the weakened Spikey.
Tennisman was glad that he put up Netplay but it wasn't enough to protect him from the Spikey. He needed to hit them with a single powerful strike all at once.
"Heatshot." Tennisman said. He looked around and corrected himself, "Two Heatshots."
He focussed his senses and honed in on the Spikey's position. He called up a surge of power from his own core systems and released an enhanced Heatshot that blazed orange rather than the usual red. He aimed his second shot at the other Beetank and fired before it scuttled out of range.
"So what happened to that hair clump we were fighting?" Deuce asked.
Tennisman set himself up for an Ace Serve, deliberately avoiding the question.
"What happened to the bugfrags?" Deuce continued, mildly annoyed.
Tennisman tried to focus on his attack and hit all four balls at one of the Genin in the back. It was a little overkill but he couldn't assume he would luck out anytime soon.
"HEY!" Deuce barked, "BUGFRAGS! I'M HUNGRY!"
There was no point in keeping it from him. Tennisman finally replied, "The creature did not drop any."
"...What." Deuce grunted.
Tennisman felt he had explained himself sufficiently and was about to call for another chip but Deuce apparently wasn't satisfied.
He sounded furious, "HEY!? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? WHERE ARE MY BUGFRAGS YOU FU-"
Desmond stopped him, "It dropped some money and that's it! We don't even know if it was a virus or what. We know it ate things and it ate Tennisman's racket."
"SO?" Deuce retorted, "I'M ONLY IN THIS FOR THE FRAGS JERKFACE! I DON'T CARE IF HE LOSES HIS RACKET OR HIS ARM! F! R! A! G! S!"
"HEY! SHUT UP!" Desmond yelled back. His voice rang in Tennisman's head as he continued, "HE SAVED YOU FROM BEING EATEN YOU UNGRATEFUL PEASHOOTER! YOU SHOULD TOTALLY BE THANKING HIM."
"YEAH I SHOULD THANK HIM FOR MESSING UP, GETTING HIS CRAP EATEN AND WASTING MY TIME!" Deuce shouted.
Tennisman couldn't concentrate with the bickering and simply tried to defend himself with his racket. He held no ill will towards Deuce for saying what he said. This world was a harsh place and being considerate was a luxury that not everyone could afford. He hoped that one day soon, they would be able to work together simply for the sake of working together but not today.

Deuce starts the next round off with a laser at the weakened Spikey, easily deleting it. Tennisman moves on to send an orange blaze at the other Spikey, burning it to a crisp with its own attack, getting a boost from the amplifying power of the grass terrain, which was reduced to char quickly after. The Beetank tried running away from the sportsman's next assault, but was simply slammed in the back with a fireball.
Deuce started bickering with Tennisman, so his first ball of his Ace Serve was a little off, making the virus retaliate with three Kunai, one of which nicked the navi in the shoulder, before the other three balls crashed into the virus' body, deleting it harshly.
The remaining Genins shifted around the battlefield, wielding their blades covertly and glancing furtively at Deuce and Tennisman, anticipating their moves. Tennisman put up his Reflex Volley, just in case.

Tennisman thought he could resume attacking and issued a command, "Deuce, keep the Genin from moving away."
"NO!" Deuce yelled, "I don't take orders from screw ups like you!"
Before Tennisman could say anything else, Deuce opened fire on the larger Genin virus instead. This put his original plan in jeopardy but there was nothing he could do about it now. There was no plan now and he knew if he didn't attack, it would be problematic.
"Desmond!" Tennisman called out, "Send... Chips!"
Tennisman felt a bunch of chips queue up in his memory and called up each of them, trying to identify them. He held out his arm in anticipation of a gun chip but instead his racket charged. He cursed his luck and swiped it at the Genin he had been aiming for, sending a boomerang wave at it.
"Sorry." apologized Desmond sheepishly.
"You SHOULD be!" Deuce snapped.
Desmond yelled back, "WASN'T TALKING TO YOU!"
Tennisman aimed his arm cannon and was able to discern the remaining chip data as gun chips, although they were all different. He didn't care and opened fire on the GeninEX, barraging it with a flurry of different blasts. His arm cannon fluctuated to keep up with the changing data loading into his arm and finally settled back into its default form after the attacks. Tennisman was fairly certain he deleted it and let out a breath of relief but kept his guard up.
Desmond, Deuce and Tennisman remained silent, watching for counterattacks from the shadows.

Deuce and Tennisman bicker more before the UFO blasts the GeninEX with his fury. Unfortunately for the support program, after the Genin got hit, it quickly teleported to Deuce's side and performed a spinning blade attack at the little guy, hurting him... badly. Maybe he would listen to Tennisman now, hm?
Meanwhile, the sportsman threw his Boomerang wildly at the smaller Genin, wiping it out in one blow, before shifting his focus to the stronger version.
Letting out shot after shot at the ninja, the duo soon achieved victory and... bugfrags. :3

After being struck, Deuce spiraled out of control and crashed, carving a small ditch into the grassy terrain. Tennisman quickly took advantage of the virus's sneak attack and deleted it quickly in response. He then turned to check on Deuce's condition. There were some major wounds on the saucer hull but he was still there.
"Deuce!" Tennisman called.
Deuce replied in a weak voice, "...Bugfrags?"
Tennisman nodded and went to retrieve the spoils for himself and his partner.
"Ohhh," Desmond squealed, "New chip!"
Tennisman relinquished the zenny and data to Desmond for analysis and dropped a pile of viral fragments near Deuce, who seemed to recover some strength at the sight of them. Still, he looked very badly injured and Tennisman wasn't sure what would happen if he got deleted. Would his data be lost forever or would he simply need some time to recuperate like a navi?
"Don't think you're off the hook." Deuce said in between bites.
"I will scout ahead," Tennisman replied, "But for now, you should wait and recover your health."
Deuce finished his meal and burped loudly before answering, "Whatever."
A beam of light whisked his battered shell away as Tennisman brushed himself off and moved on.

Tennisman tromps on while unsummoning his SP, and it suddenly starts raining.
Walking further into the tall grass reveals...

Tennisman looked puzzled, not at the viruses, but at the weather. He held out his hand and looked up, wincing as droplets hit his face.
"Rain?" He said.
"That's really weird. I've only ever seen it rain when there are Cloudy viruses and that rain HURTS." Desmond answered.
This downpour was fairly gentle and only mildly annoying at worst. As well, there were no Cloudies in sight. However, there were a cluster of strange Metools ahead. Through the rain, he could also barely make out a green mystery data being guarded by them.
"MYSTERY DATA!" Desmond shouted, "GET IT!"
Visibility was a little low but as long as he didn't fire directly at the data, he rationalized that it would be safe. He formulated a quick plan and ordered his first chips, "Boomer and Heatshot."
"Heatshot? In the rain?" Desmond asked, "Are you sure it won't like, fizzle or something?"
His operator brought up a good point, but it was worth a try if only for future reference. He equipped his racket and held onto the leather grip tightly. It was wet but it wasn't going to slip out of his hand with all the training he had done. Playing in the rain wasn't his specialty but he had played enough in it in the past. The chip data charged into the racket and glowed green. The water dripping off the face reflected the light and produced a small layer of vibrant mist around the face. Tennisman pulled his arm back and sliced his racket, shooting a green wave to the right of the mystery data. The sound it made as it spun through the rain faded and then intensified as it returned cutting past the other side of the green crystal.
Next, he prepared his arm and loaded the Heatshot. The cannon frame changed and started giving off steam. A smoky trail rose from the weapon accompanied by a hissing sound. The gun was fully charged in only a moment and was fired just as quickly. He could see the fire bolt cut through the shroud of rain and crash near the data. He had made sure not to aim too close and run the risk of hitting it with a stray splash.
Finally, Tennisman moved in closer to get a better view of his targets before tapping his racket down and pulling up a defensive barrier in the form of his Netplay. On closer inspection, the Metools' faces were very reminiscent of beavers for some reason.
"Desmond, HP reading." Tennisman said.
"Derp... Derptool." Desmond repeated, "Okay... Max 70 HP."
Tennisman nodded and took that into account for his next attack.

((Deuce healed 5 HP for not being in play last turn and heals another 5 this turn))
Tennisman had managed to close the distance between himself and the Derptools and had also regained a portion of his health in the process. He could clearly make out his enemies now as well as the mystery data; Any closer and he wouldn't be able to execute his Ace Serve.
"How is Deuce's condition?" asked Tennisman as he fired up his tennis balls.
"He's about 30 percentish." Desmond replied, "Getting better I guess."
Tennisman was a little relieved that Deuce's injuries weren't life-threating and continued with his attack. He spread out his shots across the remaining three viruses, still wary of the data's presence. One stray ball and it could shatter from the stress. Guns were starting to feel too dangerous to use at this range and he opted for another approach.
"Sword." Tennisman said.
The strings on his racket tightened and the edge grew sharp. He lunged forward at one of the Derptools in an instant with a fencing motion and quickly retreated.
"Whoa, where'd you learn to do that?" Desmond asked.
"It is a technique I have seen Swordy viruses use." replied Tennisman.
Without showing signs of slowing, he sidestepped to the other nearby Derptool and tried to dispatch it with a similar jabbing strike. He wasn't sure if that would be enough and waited for their data to fade away before disengaging the chip.

Without showing signs of slowing, he sidestepped to the other nearby Derptool and tried to dispatch it with a similar jabbing strike. He wasn't sure if that would be enough and waited for their data to fade away before disengaging the chip.

Tennisman used Ace Serve on Derptools, B, C, and E.

Critical Hit!

Tennisman tapped his racket again on the Derptool's helmet and realizing the futility of direct attacks, stopped and disengaged the Sword chip.
"What now?" Desmond asked.
The rain ran down Tennisman's face as he thought about it. He had no chips to break through the helmet but there was a way he could flip it over, though somewhat desperate. Tennisman stood back and called for his support program.
"Deuce!"
A beam of light flashed from the sky like lightning, bringing a familiar UFO shape into existence. He still looked pretty damaged but some of the superficial wounds from before were gone.
"I need your help to uncover the virus." Tennisman said.
Deuce sighed, "You called me out just for THAT? So stupid..."
"Zapring." Tennisman said.
He aimed the gun at the virus, who was still protected by its helmet. The barrel warped into a pair of electric coils that charged. Rain splashed off the gun in a cascade of bright sparks.
"I am ready." Tennisman said.
"Yeah ok, whatever." Replied Deuce.
Deuce fired a beam at the Derptool, trying to overturn it. Tennisman waited patiently for it to finish but was worried that his Zapring would fail in this rain, or worse, backfire.
"Desmond," Tennisman said, "What was the chip that we collected from the last battle?"
"Moonblade or something," Desmond replied, "Why?"
"Get it ready." Tennisman said, still locked on the Derptool with his gun.
1 - Summon Deuce
2 - wait
3 - ZapRing DerptoolC (40 damage + stun) x2?
4 - Moonblade1 DerptoolC (90 damage)
Deuce - Gust DerpToolC upside down

"Guess you didn't need that Moonblade." Desmond said.
Tennisman nodded and looked up, noticing that the sky was clearing. Another battle was over and a few more viruses were gone making Yumland a safer place for people to explore.
"So, mystery data!" Desmond added, "What was it?"
"A Guard chip." Tennisman answered.
"NICE." Desmond cheered, "Return smash!"
Tennisman was about to move on when Desmond made another announcement, "Oh yeah, your Reflex Volley and Junk Ball routines got bugged so I gotta work on them, but your Ace Serve should be more powerful now!"
"Yeah, you could use the power up." Deuce commented.
"You are still very injured. Rest and recover your strength." Tennisman replied, dismissing Deuce in another flash of light.
Tennisman didn't want to admit it but it was very satisfying being able to summon and unsummon Deuce in this way.

Tennisman comes across a grassy field. Some Bombcorn frolic in the center, while a group of Kilby shuffle around off to the right, givng the illusion of a living bamboo grove, of evil. Some mean looking swordy patrol the area. As they spot Tennisman, they start rushing towards him, all threatening-like.
