Once again in the ACDC

((Work just cock blocked me by giving me two extra shifts. I'll try and post tonight after work or tomorrow before work at the latest.))
"Damn it all," Cypher muttered under his breath as Bard struggled to free herself from the entangling webbing.

Cypher paused for a moment, planning the best course of action. He could aid Bard in freeing herself, but that would leave them both open to the insect Navi's attacks. He could attack Insectman and draw him away from Bard, but he was out of ranged battlechips and would be forced to take the battle to his opponent with his RageClaw. Either way, he would be in the line of Insectman's fire with very little in the way of defense.

"No help for it," Cypher whispered. "The best defense is a powerful offense."

"What was that?" Enjolie asked.

"Nothing, just send me the RageClaw."

"The RageClaw? Are you sure?"

"There's no choice. It is all we have left."

"Alright, good luck."

Cypher felt the surge of power as Enjolie slotted in their final battlechip. Strength flooded his systems, his digital muscle mass fluctuating and expanding to massive proportions. The armor around his fingertips lengthened and thinned down to sharp points, forming metal claws that could rend flesh and bone alike. The Navi wasn't the most proficient at close quarters combat, but he didn't have much of a choice. In order to protect Bard and keep himself from being deleted, he would have to take Insectman down hard.

Cypher dashed forward, bent low and letting his RageClaw imbued arm drag behind him. He strafed to the left as he moved, charging in a broken run to make himself a more difficult target. He didn't want to get trapped like Bard and become unable to attack. As he neared his opponent, Cypher slashed with his claws. His swipe sliced through the air in a diagonal slash, hoping to rip through Insectman's armored exoskeleton.

A second swipe, this one a raking backhand aimed at Insectman's face, followed the first. Cypher was hoping to blind the Navi, or at least render him senseless. If he could keep Insectman occupied long enough for Bard to free herself, there was a chance they could end the battle quickly.

Summary:
1. Dodge
2. RageClaw(40) to Insectman
3. RageClaw(40) to Insectman
While Bard tried, successfully, to cut herself out of the webbing, and Cypher dodged erratically, Insectman managed to shake off his stun and avoid the first blow from Cypher, but randomly came in contact with the second sword swing Bard's raven made. Screeching in pain, Insectman shot into the air, leg nicked by Cypher's next Rageclaw blow, and let out a high-pitched sonar wave at the two navis. The attack blew the two back, but they weren't done just yet... right?

On another note, Insectman landed, buzzing erratically.

"Bard!" Leo's voice called out. "We have the chance, lets grab him and hold him down now! If we do this right we can finish this! Use the process attack now go!" Leo was sitting on the edge of his seat. This was an intense battle, one he would have to inform his battle friends about. Some of the other students were even gathering to watch this spectacle. Leo felt confident in his navi's abilities.

Bard flung the rest of the webbing from herself as she sat back up, ready to fight this guy again. She was running low on health, but so was he. She had to do this correctly to be able to finish him right after this. She took a deep breath and summoned her guitar. She placed it carefully in her lap as she plucked at the strings for the attack. She played long, drawn out notes each time. Her fingers were moving in perfect harmony to make the noises needed for the spell. One hand plucked, right after the finger holding down the string moved to create the distorted noise. Within a few notes the strings came to life and began to whip and hiss about. Soon they were all disconnecting from the neck of the guitar, growing a set of spikes like barbed wire as they removed their form from the guitar. Bard plucked the final note, and the strings hunted down Insectman, hoping to once again bind him in place, making him an easy target for deletion.

Whether or not the process attack fully connected when she sent her raven in she was unsure, a free hit followed by free hits from both Cypher and herself was to good to pass up. The raven swooped down upon the insect in a might arc, just like a bird of prey. Its long break and vicious talons at the ready to strike the gross Insectman down where he stood. "Just a bit more is needed to finish this guy off if this part of my plan goes perfectly. I really hope it goes perfectly I can't stand this navi any longer."

Summary
1)Musical Bindings to Insectman (Hold + 30 Damage)
2)Sword to Insectman (80)
Seeming to tap into his latent systems, Insectman launched another Arrow from his mouth that collided with the musical bindings and cancelled both attacks out.

This had really taken a toll on his movement systems, however, and the bug was firmly whacked on the head with a sword.

Which then broke.

Bard cursed under her breath as the holding attack missed the target. The solid sword hit had more than set this battle in their favor however. She knew it. Leo also knew this, and quickly shouted to Bard about which battle tactics to take in this case. "Heal, 8th note dodges, and then cannon his ass twice! Lets finish this guy off Bard!" Leo happily slotted in the two chips and sat forwards on the edge of his seat to watch the final moments of the battle.

Bard was still angry about the fact that he hold spell missed. It was left up to chance more so now than before. Not what she wanted. She couldn't deny the need to heal and dodge however. Bard pulled her piccolo to her lips and started to play the song for the dodges. The notes were fast paced, rising in pitch as she went along, and then quickly dropping back down for the repeat and the second dodge. She felt the fact that the dodges were ready to use, and then started the heal song for herself. It had a simple and calm melody to it, making Bard feel also washed over by a relaxing melody. After the slower relaxing song was finished, Bard looked to her teammate. "Chyper, lets finish this, I am sick of this guy." Bard turned her attention back to Insectman, ready to finish this annoying fight. She sent one of the cannon chips to her now disarmed Raven, and kept one for herself.

Bard started the assault off by uploading her cannon. She pulled the bongos into place in haste and tapped out the quick and vicious rhythm. There were beats that were out of order and powerful. Bard started to raised and lower her hands quickly, pounding down harder and harder and the drum face in the progress. Soon the beat was very uniform in the sound, and once this point was hit Bard raised her bongos up and sat them on her shoulder. She aimed at the Insectman, then tapped the smaller side of the bongos. A cannonball ripped itself from the face of the other bongo, flying towards Insectman. Bard sat the instrument back in her lap and looked to her bird, who had already begun uploading the data.

Black mist poured from the eyes and mouth of the Raven. Its mouth expanded and grew, as a cannon emerged from the mist. The bird lowered its head head downwards, aiming at the insect navi. It was struggling with its wings to keep itself in flight, but that wouldn't last long. Once the raven had Insectman in his sights, the cannon fired, sending the Raven backwards in the sky. He regained its balance, knowing it has suffered much harsher recoils in the past. The raven hovered overhead, calming watching the battle as it kept going. Bard's eyes narrowed as she watched the final movements of Insectman.

Summary
1)8th Note Dodge Process Attack ( Dodge + Dodge)
2)Semibreve Process Attack (20 heal to self)
3)Cannon to Insectman (40)
4)Cannon to Insectman (40)
((I ain't got no inspirations.))

"Yes," Cypher said. "This is it."

The armored Navi dashed forward, metal claws extending from his fingertips. He barreled down on the insect Navi, ready and willing to tear him apart. He slashed at Insectman, claws raking downward through the air.

"We can do this, Cypher." Enjolie shouted. "C'mon and finish it."

Cypher strafed to his right, circling around Insectman. He knew that his opponent had a varied arsenal and didn't want to be struck down before he could deliver the final blow. His feet beat a brief staccato across the panels as he moved behind Insectman, hoping to find a blind spot.

Cypher attacked again, RageClaw imbued hand slashing through the air in a fierce uppercut designed to rip through Insectman's underbelly. With luck, the strike would smash through the Navi's defenses and finish him once and for all.

Summary:
1. RageClaw(40) to Insectman
2. Dodge
3. RageClaw(40) to Insectman
Still exhausted from burning out his movement systems, Insectman panted a little as Bard did a bunch of prep up.

Cypher moved in with his Rageclaw, slashing down and dealing a brunt attack that Insectman took with no real reaction, just his wings twitching a little. Bard blasted him with a Cannon, which Insectman dodged by swerving to the side and threw two more bombs at the navis, both of which dodged.

Completely tired out, Insectman could only grimace as the last Rageclaw and Cannon hit busted him at the same time, jacking him out.

Victory!

Bard raised her piccolo in the air in joy as the nasty bug was finally gone. A zenny reward waited where the bug used to be, which Bard quickly sent her Raven over to grab her share of the loot. The raven sent the zenny to Leo's bank balance, which made both Bard and Leo smile.

"Soon, we will be able to get the upgrades we want," Leo said happily.

Bard nodded in agreement as she turned to look at her ally. They were both rather beat up compared to what they started the fight with. Bard's raven flew down from the sky and landed on her shoulder, looking at Cypher with its head turning from side to side. It let out an approving caw as it melded back into Bard's data, sinking into her shoulder. Bard smiled at Cypher and said, "Good fighting there. I think it would be best if we parted from here."

"Bard hurry up," Leo's voice rang out, "The teacher is on his way back and won't be happy that you are busting on the net ways. Which I find odd he would still get mad about such a thing in college. Aren't college professors not supposed to give a damn?"

Bard rolled her eyes as she held out her hand to be shaken. Once Cypher made contact with her fingers, he would feel that there was something in her hand. It was a piece of data in the shape of a small note. Written on it was the email of Bard and another word. It was a short, single word and it had link on it telling of where Bard's homepage was located. "Get back in contact with me sometime," she said. Bard smiled as she placed the bongo in her lap. She calmly hit the drum once, and a single note drifted out and floated to the group like a leaf. Upon impact, bard jacked out of the net, leaving only the note behind. After a few more moments of existence, it too disappeared.

{{JACK OUT}}
"We'd better stop here," Enjolie said. "We have earned enough for some more upgrades and I'd like to get some errands run."

"Alright," Cypher agreed. "It has been a pleasure working with you, Bard."

The Navi reached out to shake Bard's hand, noticing the small note that she slipped into his hand. He was about to question the Navi, but she vanished with a single drum beat.

"Huh...?" Cypher looked at the paper. "Oh well."

The Navi vanished into the shadows.
