D'oh!
I figured I would need the latest software, yarr. So with Vista (not as bad as you'd think at first glance, it has this awsome double movie/window flicker thing) I should be able to stop my damn lags during my new games. Have all the drivers and video cards and stuff...
Just can't find the blasted thing!

This is exactly why I despise it. People who like it seem to droll over the gfx and such, while ignoring problems such that it copies files not even half as fast as for example windows XP, or that there are large gaps in what drivers works.
For your lag, you should try to update Vista. A new patch has fixed a problem were all your RAM is eaten by games.

Nah, see, I had the same problem with XP.
And I can't even play WoW to pass the time anymore.
Stupid double credit card shuriken confusion.

I just got a new video card. Today.
I got it to support DirectX 10. But no luck, yarr.

Hmm.
Note that just because DirectX 10 is supported does not mean that DirectX 10.1 is supported. There is a pretty big diffrence. Are you trying the wrong one?
