Annnnnd relax.....

Miyu shrugged through the steam, not that she expected Riff to be able to see it. "Eh, sorry. I've just heard similar stories before." She let out a small giggle imagining her brother kicking a met and hurting his toe, all in a silly chibi animation style like in anime. I wonder if he's ever done that...

"So..." she began in a much more serious tone, "what do you think about that netpolice and netmafia broadcast from the other day? Or the one with the giant minotaur after it?" She paused, mostly for dramatic effect. "Do you think the net is safe anymore? Or that the netpolice can protect it?"

((The 'CRISIS' and the 'We interrupt your scheduled war' topics, FYI))

Riff raised an eyebrow and wondered.
"To be honest the net can never be safe." She said seriously. "Even without the mafia we're still swarmed with viruses, evil organisations yadda yadda yadda." She sighed and thought. "But you could say that some areas are more peacefull than others...."
Riff looked down to the water.
Miyu raised an eyebrow. "Heh, I guess you're right." She sighed too, and sunk into the water up to her chin. "So... if it comes down to an all out war... you think the netpolice stand a chance? Or will the good Samaritans of the net have to save it on their own once again like they did all those years ago...?" Miyu grinned slightly, hoping this would lead into the line of conversation she wanted to move towards.
Riff looked thoughtfully again.
"We're all doing our bit..." She said. "The net police aren't the only ones who can fight...."
Riff swished her tail again.....
"How many net-navis in the world are there really?" she then wondered outloud.....
"How many?" Miyu echoed absent minded. "Well... I suppose there's no real way to know. Those that are registered are just the tip of the iceberg. Then you have those without operators, those that aren't registered, those that are copies of others..." She abruptly stopped her train of though. "I wonder if there will be a group of navi's who will band together to save the world from the corruption that is destroying it... like they do in the movies. Would be pretty cool to be like them, right?"
Riff chuckled.
"Yeah." she said, half bemused. "You never know what could happen though...."
She smiled. "Lots of crazy stuffs been happening."
The water trickled off her back as she sat up, sqeezing the exess water out of her hair.
"Crazy...."
"Yeah..." Miyu replied in a thoughtful voice once again. "Let's hope that enough people choose to fight the right fight." She also sat up, stretching her wings out and folding them behind her. "Let's just hope people remember the differences between right and wrong, and good and evil."
Riff stared up at the ceiling.
"There's a very fine line between them....." she said. Riff sighed. "Almost invisible...."
"I'm not so sure," Miyu replied softly. "Right and wrong are specific to each person... more based on the morals and ethics they hold." Pausing a moment, she continued. "I suppose that would make it seem like a fine line... but only to someone who doesn't have the same morals and ethics as yourself."

"Good and evil, though, are probably easier to tell apart. It's like the difference between leading and manipulating people. One is using yourself to help others, while the other is using others to help yourself."
"That's one example...." Riff sighed. This was a strange conversation they were having.
"Do you think maybe some people do have good reasons to do bad things? I mean....don't get me wrong or anything but....." Riff shook it off...."nevermind....."
"Good reason to do something evil?" Miyu echoed softly. "If you were, say, using someone to get yourself into a position to, say, eliminate a dangerous person, then I think that would be ok." She covered her mouth and yawned a bit. "But I guess that would be a time to see if the ends justified the means." She splashed some warm water into her face, trying to shake off the slight drowsiness from being in the warm water for so long.
Riff stared at the steam coming off the water...
"Hmm...." she responded, she flicked the water lightly. "What about if you had no choice...you'd be forced to do something and get the full guilt put on you....that wouldn't be really fair..."
"That's true... But even if someone was forced to do something wrong or evil, that doesn't necessarily mean the person is evil. The 'good guys' kill off people all the time... couldn't that be considered evil in and of itself?"
"The 'good guys'? heh....they do what they think is right...so it's what other people think is right because seemingly they did the right thing. If they kill someone off they think it's for the best. Maybe they take a chance to reconsider...or maybe the 'bad guy' is just asking for it by then so they have to....ugh...."
Riff wiped the water of her forehead....
"Eh, I guess it really isn't that simple, but I don't think it's anything to have an attack over." Miyu stood and stepped out of the hot springs, opting instead to sit on the ground near it and dangle her legs in. "Guess I made the conversation awkward. Sorry 'bout that."
"No...no it's okay. I just got a little steamed about nothing, I just....agh...nevermind."
Riff shook the rest of the water off her face, she wasn't sure why she got so stressed...
"Heh....I should be appologising....sorry..."
Miyu shrugged, kicking her feet slightly in the water. "It's ok. Everyone has their hot buttons. Nothing to get embarrassed about."
"Megh...." Riff replied half heartedly, maybe she had had enough hot water, she considered getting out before she got all prune skinned....she decided against it....
"Well..." Miyu said softly but sternly, "if things start going down the tubes, and you decide you want to do something about it, find me somewhere." She materialized a small, orange glowing orb in her hand and tossed it into the water. It bobbed slightly on the surface with the motion of the water. "There's my e-mail. Let me know if you need something, alright?"
Riff took it. "Er well..okay." she said. "I suppose you want mine?" she asked while summoning a similar looking orb. Riff slanted her ears to an angle.
