Annnnnd relax.....

"'Never kicking a metool', huh? I guess that would be painful, but not in the sense I had meant." Miyu rose from the water, and stretched her wings by flapping them a bit. She sank back into the water, her wings now outstretched. "So, Riff, done anything fun lately? I'm from the Und- er, Electown, and I gotta say, it's been pretty boring. Unless you count that big battle, but I wasn't caught up in it." I guess I shouldn't go about telling people I'm technically an Undernavi... might get me a worse rep...
Riff shrugged.
"Eh...nothing much. Just a bit of virus busting here and there. I'm kinda new to everything." She explained. "But I'm getting there." she sighed. Riff looked down at the water. "So you're from electown? I've never been there before...."
Riff poured hot water onto her shoulders,
"Ah thats better...." she whispered as her shoulder muscles relaxed. "Yeah, I'm from the ACDC area. Not much has gone on there recently that I know of." Riff said. She swore the navi had hesitated before saying electown. Riff shrugged it off...
"Yeah... Electown is um... interesting. I can't say I've spent much time in it though. Always off busting elsewhere." Miyu tilted her head. Maybe I will have to ask awkward questions to get a good conversation going... "So how old are you? You said you were pretty new at all this, right?"

Riff thought....how old was she? She had to be only a couple of weeks old by now.
"Er....about two months maybe, but my net-op and I haven't had much luck in finding a team to bust with so I haven't had that much full experience. It's just been myself lately, not that I'm really complaining...." Riff explained. "Trial and error have been the most commonly used tactic. For example; first time at hunting down viruses, Yoka net is pretty nasty to those first timers. But hey, I'm just another newbie navi in this world wanting to make a hit. Mistakes are easily made...."
Riff sat up and shook her ears again of water. "My problem Is that I get too cocky...sorry am I speaking too much?" Riff slanted her ears.
Miyu grinned. "Oh no~ Go ahead. What else is a place like this good for if you can't relax and talk freely, right?" Miyu used her hand to flip some hair that had stuck to her forehead off, wiping off the water that had been in it as well.

Well well well, looks like I got her talking. Just have to keep her talking now...

"Well, I'm... pretty old, in navi terms I suppose. I've only grown to about a late human teen and have been around for around 5 years... I know a decent bit about surviving in the net too, from experience." Her tone grew cold and unforgiving, "But unlike most navi's I didn't really have the luxury of learning from my mistakes. I had to be careful to not make any and to learn from other peoples' mistakes." Her voice returned to normal, and she continued, "But it's ok, I learned a lot, and am the capable navi I am today because of it."
Riff smiled a care free smile that was rarely seen.
"Eh. Seems fair." she said, she lifted up her tail and left it to hang on the rock to dry off. Riff smirked to herself and looked at her hands, not quite crinkled yet....she could stay in a little longer. Riff stretched slightly and relaxed. In human years...she looked....say at least mid teens, above sixteen but younger than twenty. She had that young naiive look in her eye, but that was only skin deep. Riff was an assassin at heart, cunning and sly. She didn't realise this yet however.....but an instinct was edging her in the back of her mind. This navi seemed strange, even though she was the first one to meet, she could tell there was something to hide......her normal train of thoughts came back. 'It's none of my buisiness.....' she thought to herself. 'But it would be impolite to deprive her of conversation.....'
Riff closed her amber eyes and twirled at the water with her finger, making a small whirlpool. "So, anything interresting going on today?" she asked.
"Eh, I went busting earlier and ran into some weird freak navi. He had some weird box that spat out a virus, and he kept saying things like 'I wonder how well this virus will do' and 'I'll have to fix that next time'." She shrugged and let out a small sigh. "Besides that, nothing that I know of is going on. Just came here to relax some."
"Mhmmm.....sounds much more interesting than my day." she said with a grin. She stretched her arms above her head.
"That guy sounded weird, why would you keep a virus in a box?" she wondered outloud.
"I mean, I would keep one in say, a titanium box with no airholes and a stick of uranium...that'll teach the little buggers....."
Riff was slightly bemused at her own thought, "heh, Schroedinger virus...."
She swore the hot steam was getting to her head....
"Heh. I'd prefer to keep it in a trash compactor," she countered. "No mess to clean up after."

She tilted her head. "So, you kicked a met? What happened there, it went into hiding and you were trying to flip it?"
Riff nodded.
"Thats exactly what happened....I got a little tetchy with it......but enough about the met...."
She sighed and looked around the onsen.....
Miyu shrugged through the steam, not that she expected Riff to be able to see it. "Eh, sorry. I've just heard similar stories before." She let out a small giggle imagining her brother kicking a met and hurting his toe, all in a silly chibi animation style like in anime. I wonder if he's ever done that...

"So..." she began in a much more serious tone, "what do you think about that netpolice and netmafia broadcast from the other day? Or the one with the giant minotaur after it?" She paused, mostly for dramatic effect. "Do you think the net is safe anymore? Or that the netpolice can protect it?"

((The 'CRISIS' and the 'We interrupt your scheduled war' topics, FYI))

Riff raised an eyebrow and wondered.
"To be honest the net can never be safe." She said seriously. "Even without the mafia we're still swarmed with viruses, evil organisations yadda yadda yadda." She sighed and thought. "But you could say that some areas are more peacefull than others...."
Riff looked down to the water.
Miyu raised an eyebrow. "Heh, I guess you're right." She sighed too, and sunk into the water up to her chin. "So... if it comes down to an all out war... you think the netpolice stand a chance? Or will the good Samaritans of the net have to save it on their own once again like they did all those years ago...?" Miyu grinned slightly, hoping this would lead into the line of conversation she wanted to move towards.
Riff looked thoughtfully again.
"We're all doing our bit..." She said. "The net police aren't the only ones who can fight...."
Riff swished her tail again.....
"How many net-navis in the world are there really?" she then wondered outloud.....
"How many?" Miyu echoed absent minded. "Well... I suppose there's no real way to know. Those that are registered are just the tip of the iceberg. Then you have those without operators, those that aren't registered, those that are copies of others..." She abruptly stopped her train of though. "I wonder if there will be a group of navi's who will band together to save the world from the corruption that is destroying it... like they do in the movies. Would be pretty cool to be like them, right?"
Riff chuckled.
"Yeah." she said, half bemused. "You never know what could happen though...."
She smiled. "Lots of crazy stuffs been happening."
The water trickled off her back as she sat up, sqeezing the exess water out of her hair.
"Crazy...."
"Yeah..." Miyu replied in a thoughtful voice once again. "Let's hope that enough people choose to fight the right fight." She also sat up, stretching her wings out and folding them behind her. "Let's just hope people remember the differences between right and wrong, and good and evil."
Riff stared up at the ceiling.
"There's a very fine line between them....." she said. Riff sighed. "Almost invisible...."
"I'm not so sure," Miyu replied softly. "Right and wrong are specific to each person... more based on the morals and ethics they hold." Pausing a moment, she continued. "I suppose that would make it seem like a fine line... but only to someone who doesn't have the same morals and ethics as yourself."

"Good and evil, though, are probably easier to tell apart. It's like the difference between leading and manipulating people. One is using yourself to help others, while the other is using others to help yourself."
"That's one example...." Riff sighed. This was a strange conversation they were having.
"Do you think maybe some people do have good reasons to do bad things? I mean....don't get me wrong or anything but....." Riff shook it off...."nevermind....."
