-Hey, hey, hey!! What's with you? You didn't even try to dodge that spikes!
-Umm ... looks like I was daydreaming.
-What??We can't afford that in such a situation!
-Leave me alone. I've already suffered enough.
-Gather youself together, and build up some defense. Concentrate on avoiding its attacks, and charge up the ground. We'll find out the rest after that.
-If I do that, I won't be able to use the Cannon efficiently. I suppose we should begin the operation with that.
-As you wish. This is the last ranged chip we have so make it hit, or else you get your butt kicked.
-I know, just send it.

The empty shotgun started to transform as the data on the chip downloaded. As soon as the grenade launcher was ready, Raider armed it, at pointed it at the blob.
"I don't know what are you exactly, but I hope you react to attacks as the other virii".
He activated the targeting system, splited open the cross-hair, fixed it on the blob, and put his finger on the trigger. He imagined how the grenade will tear it apart ...
"No, no, no! No daydreaming, concentrate!
He pulled the trigger before his imagination would interfere in the aiming. He let the kickback push him backwards to gain some distance.
The spent cartridge fell on the ground tinkling.

-I thought you'll never fire. What took so long?
"I can't let him think I'm crazy"
-Umm, you said "make it hit" ... (Raider was imitaiting Dave's voice)
-Haa-haa, very funny. WATCH OUT !!! BEHIND YOU !!!
Raider turned around, and raised the empty grenade launcher. There was ... nothing.
-What did you want to do with an empty weapon?
-Haa-haa...
-Now we are qiuts. Okay, concentrate on the defense.
-Copy that.

Raider gathered his powers, and emitted it into the ground.
-If it can come through this, we are history.
-Idiot! The first spike will scratter the shield an the rest nineteen will impale you, concentrate on the magnetic field, and hope it will be powerful enough to deflect the spikes!
As the magnetic forces diffused, he concentrated it. He dumped his mind on it, and forced it to fill up the space between him and the blob. As usual, he raised the shield, to isolate him from that thing.
-Shields up, all hands to battle stations. Just like in the old times, isn't it?
-Yeah, yeah, but don't stop moving!
-Okay, okay ...

Raider started moving left paying attention to the enemy, and prepared to react its attacks as soon as possible.

Raider fires with his Cannon, pushing himself back and narrowly avoiding an extended punch from the Unknown Program, which flicks the electric sniper on the head, then recoils from the damage dealt to it by the Cannon.
The military navi emits a magnetic field and produces a shield, and... as Dave predicted, 20 spikes spat out at Raider, destroying the shield, but luckily the navi avoided the brunt of the attack, getting three spikes piercing through his arm.

Unknown Program: 210 HP

Terrain: 80% Normal, 20% Magnetic

Raider.exe: 65 HP (far right of Magnetic field)

"Three more annoying spikes ... Great ... "
Raider checked the status screen of his armor. "Life support system: 65%" was twinkling on it.
"Umm ... I need to rev up or else I'll die away sooner than that thing".

-Hey, hey, listen, since we run out ranged attacks, we have to let it closer. And if we let it closer, why don't we lure it into the magnetic field? Or, why don't we force it to go on the magnetic field?
-What are you thinking?
-I'll send you the rageclaws. Use them to fling that thing deep in the magnetic field.
-Copy that. And what's next?
-I'll think on the further moves later, now move it, I'm sending the rageclaws. And watch out, I don't want to see you as a pin cushion.
-I'll do my best ... again.

Raider put his rifle on his back and secured it. After that, the rageclaws downloaded, the heavy gauntlets appeared, and the raspy energy blades popped out them.
He fixed his sight on the blob and started running towards it. As he was moving through the magentic field he raised the energy blades, and prepared for the attack. When he arived in meele range, he stabbed at the blob with the blades, and tried to hold them inside it, and throw it at the center of the magentic field, calculating with the trajectory-alteration effects of the magnetid forces.
Not paying attention to the results, he jumped away, and moved back in the "safe" magnetic field, trying to keep a fair distance from his enemy, and prepared for avoiding those annoying spikes, wherever they come.
"I hope that my magnetic field will be strong enough to hold it down and deflect its attacks"

1. Move in meele range / avoiding spikes if they come
2. Rageclaws: impale that blob [20] and if possible thow it at the centre of the magnetic field using Snipe

Raider dashes out of the way of MORE SPIKES and throws the Unknown Program at the Magnetic Panels. The electric sniper moves back to the panels, grinning like an idiot because he thinks the magnetic field will hamper the blob.

Which was actually choosing its form of movement to be floating, so, no luck there.

Oh, and Raider gets bitchslapped by the Unknown Program as he moves into the Magnet Terrain, because its probably pissed off at Raider for throwing it into the ground.

Raider.exe: 45 HP [Magnet]

Raider took some steps backwards, and took a deffendive position.

-Nice! You run into that attack perfectly ...
-Leave me alone, I have a problem to deal with.
-Okay, okay. Concentrate on the mission. Since you can't maintain distance from it, and that thing appears to be good at ranged fighting, so I suppose you should try to get close to it. Once you get close enough try to hit it and make it spin. That might confuse it. And be careful, looks like this is unaffected by the magnetic forces.
-That worth trying, I thing.

Raider lookad at the little status screen again. "Life support system: 45%" was on it.
"Damn, I won't last long if it keeps going like this. I need to find out something."
Raider lookad at the blob. He pointed the blades at it, and approached it slowly. When he got close enough, he tried to stab it with his blades again and again.
"I can't let this thing to defeat me, I can't let it to blow up the place out there ..."
Raider changed his stance, and attacked again, but this time he tried to make that blob spin in order to confuse it somehow. After the attack, he jumped backwards, focused on the enemy, and prepared to react as fast as possible.
"You might be able to endure the magnetic forces, but I'm sure your spikes will be affected."

The program dodges the first strike, then opens up to reveal a fanged maw and promptly chomps down on Raider. The electric sniper whacks it, trying to break free, but it holds on tight.

Raider.exe: 25 HP [Magnet] (Being Eaten! Try to Escape (very well), or face certain-death!)

Raider heard nothing but the chewing of that thing. The problem is that thing was chewing him.
"That's it. I'm not gonna make it. This time I started to fight with something I can't defeat. I can't do anything. My arms don't move. This thing is chewing me, and I can't do anything to stop it ... Anyway, whose freaking idea was to engage in close combat with this thing??"

"What's this?"

"Hmm, maybe ..."
Raider somehow made free his left arm. The little status screen was beeping, and "LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM REACHES CRITICAL LEVEL" was tinkling on it.
"Try to say something new ... "

"No, I can't let this happen. Dave is counting on me, I can't let him down. This is not impossible. Nothing is impossible. This is a ... a challange. If I manage to deal with it, I'm not soft. If I'm not ... well, there is no "if not" part , I must defeat this thing! "

Raider gathered his powers, and focused it into his arms. He tried to turn towards the blob, and make his arms free by cutting everything with the blades in reach.
"From now on, this is an all-or-nothing game. All I have to do is not to let it devour me.
He kept cutting that thing, and tried to get free not paying attention to the pain twingling nearly all over his body. Electric jolts started jumping off the blades with each swung.
"No matter what happens, I can't afford losing!
The blades were sparkling and creaking like if they were alive, and Raider stabbed at the blob's throat, and tried to tear its organs, if it had anything like that at all. He was fighting like a cornered and injured animal. He was fighting for survival
"How do you like it, hmm? When your prey is biting back harder than you? ... "

Raider manages to free himself using all his will and determination, but results in being badly damaged in the end. The two go at it with a final charge, the blob becoming a truck of some sort, while Raider swings with his Rageclaw. The two collide, and the blob explodes, damaging Raider to the point of death, leaving its glowing rune-encrusted core behind.

It all seemed well....

Until Raider noticed that the waste residue from the exploded program has suddenly turned into what looked like tiny iron balls and falling straight down, toward him.

Oh crap.

Unknown Program: DEFEATED?

Raider.exe: 1 HP [Magnet] (In danger! Try to dodge the falling iron balls of DOOM!)

Raider was panting heavily. The energy blades disappeared. His arms were shaking, and his legs refused to move. He tried to make steps when ... he collapsed. He was lying on his back, and staring at the hundreds of the little iron balls coming towards him.
- ... Raider, Raider ... - the sound was barely audible
"Oh great. I'm hallucinating ... again."
-Raider, Raider!! What do you hear?
"Dave?"
-Raider, what do you hear??
-Nothing but the rain.
-Then grab your weapon, and bring back the dog!
-Aye!
Raider slowly stood up.
"The magnets are sucking these balls to the ground, I need to get away quickly ... "
But his legs were shaking, and didn't move.
"Come on! One more time ... "
He took some stumbling steps. Then, he somehow regained his balance, and started running towards the remainings of the blob. He grabbed that glowing sphere, looked up, and sped up.
"Just a bit more ..."
He saw the treshold of the magnetic field. When he got close enough he focused all his remaining power into a last move, and he jumped towards the normal panels ...

3. Try to jump out the magnetic field before the balls fall down.

Raider is unfortunately beaten to a pulp when he grabs the Support Program data, and he is EJO'D from the system.
Though, the military network seems working perfectly fine now.
