Voltman and DNR

The lag suddenly stopped, and...
the floor collapsed.
It's not like the panels shattered, they simply collapsed, like it was some image in photoshop that was suddenly deleted.

Soon enough, the three navis fell straight down into a corrupted, darker version of the normal Electown Net.
"Rogue Net..." Mental commented, voice low, his face estatic at looking at the place.

Then, all hell broke loose.

A massive swarm of powered up viruses stampeded toward the three navis' location. They were fierce, menacing, and unrelenting in their march toward their new prey.

"Well kiddies, today's lesson is canceled due to the sudden outbreak of Rogue level viruses!" Mental cackled cheerfully as his eyes gleamed at the incoming swarm.

More gunshots rang out, Voltman and DNR soon found themselves accompanied by both NetPolice Enforcers and NetMafia Goons.
"Commander Mental! Are you hurt anywhere?" one of the goons shouted, machine-gun cocked at the ready.
"Very good, very good!" the Mafiosi laughed heartily as his face span counter-clockwise. "Alright boys! No sides here! Let's wipe these nilly-willys out! Watch out viruses! Preparing a rebellion against the Netter Party will lead in your sudden demise! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" the psychic cackled before coughing and muttering something incomprehensible.

"Voltman, DNR, long time no see," the familiar voice of Aron greeted as the navi brandished his sword.
"Just to let you know, the cause of this was mainly a technological error with..." RAION started, readying his plasma-powered gun, but glanced nervously at Aron before starting again. "Two massive zettabyte files unleashed on Electown Net. If you saw the recent news feed, you'll have an idea of what those files were."
Tremble, another familiar face nodded furiously before turning his attention to the viruses.
The other two NetMafia goons seemed to wield machine-guns as well. The three goons all wore sunglasses and seemed to have very outlandish hair. They were also dressed in open black jackets, white T-shirts, black dress pants, and dancing shoes?
"FOR THE SWARM!" Mental roared, charging at the viruses before tripping and falling flat on his face.

-ZERG RUSH INCOMING-
-GREAT NET WAR BATTLE 4-
-FUCKING FIGHT TO THE DEATH-

((<dies>))
Voltman tried to turn and see where the yells were coming from, but it seemed as if the air itself was resisting him. Then, all at once, it wasn't. Caught by surprise, Voltman spun around with the energy he had been exerting and fell. He braced himself for the hit, but it never came. As he neared the floor, it disappeared beneath both his head and his feet, plunging him into an area he didn't recognize. It looked like Electown, and yet pieces of corrupted data floated among the air, and the light itself was dimmed. Not surprising, considering the distance he had just fallen.
Rogue Net... Voltman whipped around, glaring at Mental. You know what this place is? Tell us! He started to advance on Mental, when the ground began to shake. Voltman stumbled, before turning and seeing the source of the shaking. Viruses, and lots of them.
Voltman, something's wrong... these viruses HP readings are WAY higher than they should be. I don't even recognize some of them! Shigeru called out, looking at the approaching group with alarm. The HP readings were almost twice above normal for some of them, the viruses seemed to include bombers and a large octopus virus, and Mental... well, need anything really be said about Mental?
Well kiddies, today's lesson is cancelled due to the sudden outbreak of Rogue level viruses! Mental commented to the general group, as a small cadre of similarly fallen reinforcements from Police and Mafia ran up behind the former combatants, firing at the virus swarm. One of them, a conspicuously dressed Mafia navi, yelled to the psychopath. Commander Mental! Are you hurt anywhere? Voltman groaned, knowing that even if Mental were on the verge of death he wouldn't give a straight answer. But no, Mental set out to prove Voltman wrong once more. Very good, very good! Alright boys! No sides here! Let's wipe these nilly-willys out! Watch out viruses! Preparing a rebellion against the Netter Party will lead in your sudden demise! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Voltman was genuinely surprised at the commander, but reflecting on the past battle he realized he shouldn't be. Mental's goal was never to defeat anyone but Dog, so it only seemed fitting that he would take the side of banding together against a stronger enemy.
Suddenly, one of the Netpolice navis spoke to Voltman, shocking him out of his thought. Voltman, DNR, long time no see. Wondering who he would have met before, Voltman was pleasantly surprised, despite the harsh conditions, to see the faces Aron, RAION, and Tremble. Marcus, he noted, was oddly absent. Knowing the touchiness of the patrol, and the reckless nature of the commander, he decided to let the issue rest. Just to let you know... Commented RAION in his normal, matter-of-fact tone, ...The cause of this was mainly a technological error with... two massive zettabyte files unleashed on Electown Net. If you saw the recent news feed, you'll have an idea of what those files were. Something was wrong. Voltman hadn't seen this news feed, but the hesitation in his voice and the way he used the word "unleashed" revealed much to the electric battler. But now wasn't the time for small talk. Not anymore. So, as Mental decided to put it...
FOR THE SWARM! A mad charge... a valiant effort... an amusing faceplant. A disappointed facepalm.
Voltman turned to his operator, nodding once. Shigeru grinned. Alright then...! We'll save the Elecsword for now, but we'll still need to focus on one group of enemies... Voltman was looking at Shigeru with a dumbfounded look, which his operator returned. What? What is it? Voltman sighed, and pulled up a small image of the three battlechip symbols: Powershot, Powerbolt, and Powerblast. Come on! We've got the power to use this thing, so why don't we? I mean, we could wipe out most of the crowd with a single shot! Voltman was almost overexcited at the thought of wielding the massive cannon once more, tearing a hole in the net. He'd already forgotten about its massive failure against Mental, it seemed. But instead of simply acquiescing to his navi's argument, Shigeru took an offensive stance. Listen. We've got the power for the Program Advance, but look at the viruses. And now look at our allies, our former enemies, and us. Now, having seen all that, do you even believe that a program advance would be necessary? There are all of twenty enemies, plenty of time to take them out, and nine of you to do so. You really think we need to pull our trump card now? No, we'll save it for times that really need it. Voltman raised his hand as if to argue, but then seemed as if all the air had been let out of him, slumping down. You're right, you're right. Then, standing and looking at the viruses (conveniently avoiding the "I-told-you-so" stare from Shigeru in the process), Voltman activated a few of the chips that had been sent to him, and contacted his allies.
Alright, then! Mental's right! We have to work together if we're going to survive this. But remember, these aren't our normal viruses! A surge of electric energy shot over Voltman, which then formed into a barrier. So we're going to have to work together to beat these things. I'll take the octopus virus and the two Remobit control towers... now, CHARGE!
Voltman leapt into action, summoning a spear and heading directly for the Octor virus. Charging it with electrical energy, he weaved left and right, well aware of his position near the viruses. Eyes set on his target, it seemed that the enemy was charging up to attack. Whether it was the stress of the battle, Voltman's imagination, or an actual attack, he didn't know. But he wasn't about to take any chances. Tightening his grip on the spear, he rolled to the side of the bulbous enemy and stabbed at its side with the spear. As it neared the enemy, the spear disintegrated into sparks, which swarmed over the enemy with a sound nearing that of a thousand angry hornets. But Voltman wasn't even near done. Downloading the Aquasword battlechip, he slashed mightily towards the enemy's side, chunks of freezing water and frozen ice dislodging from the blade and flying into space. A stray bolt struck one of the ice shards, making Voltman look around for the source. The flying remobits. Voltman took a moment to look around for the control towers, before seeing them nestled behind the enemy lines. Convenient, for them.
Areagrab, slot i- Shigeru began, preparing to download the chip before a signal from Voltman prompted him to stop. No, we might need that for later. I'll just run for it. Opening his mouth to argue, Shigeru merely sighed as his navi took off towards the enemies. He had Electric Drain if things went wrong, after all. Voltman charged through the enemy lines, dodging wildly in a vain attempt to reach the targets unscathed. With the virus crowd he was facing, there was no telling how much one of the attacks might hurt, and he wasn't about to find out (he hoped). Putting on an extra burst of speed, Voltman slashed at the ground, throwing up rubble and water, which cleared quickly to reveal... nothing? Voltman had... disappeared? A yell suddenly rang out from above the two control tower enemies, as Voltman finished a massive leap. Letting loose one slash as he landed, he managed to carve a gash in the floor where he slashed from the force, shallowly filled with water from the sword. The second slash was meant only for enemies, though, and the finishing of the two immobile Remobit towers was the goal in sight. There, behind enemy lines, only a barrier to protect him against the attacks to come, Voltman just desperately hoped that his allies had some sort of plan.
Charge! We can do this!

"Commander Mental! Are you hurt anywhere? Do you need a kiss on your bobos?" one of the goons shouted, machine-gun cocked at the ready.
"Very good, very good!" the Mafiosi laughed heartily as his face span counter-clockwise. "Alright boys! No sides here! Let's wipe these nilly-willys out! Watch out viruses! Preparing a rebellion against the Netter Party will lead in your sudden demise! Unless you called the Senate! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" the psychic cackled before coughing and muttering something incomprehensible.
"Voltman, DNR, long time no see, I finally got a renewed contract and now I'm back with a new sportscar. " the familiar voice of Aron greeted as the navi brandished his sword.
Is this some kind of debutant ball?
"FOR THE GALLOWS!" Mental roared, charging at the viruses before tripping and falling flat on his face.

"That's right viewers, Netmafians and Netpolicians fighting side by side! Will they survive the Rogue Threat? Will I get paid this week! Will Polonius finally get a---"

"DNR, what are you doing!?" Polonius interjected throughout the Recap.

"Wha? Oh just showing the viewers what happened since the last episode" DNR said with his usual wink.

"First off, this isn't some kinda show. Second!" he said with a peace sign showing from his right hand "Nobody said any of the things you said! And thirdly... I'll get a girlfriend when I'm good and ready! Now let's start fighting please?"

"Okay okay, geeze, can a guy do something to remind people on what's happened?" the madman replied, cleaning his ears with his pinky. He paced along the network, figuring out his plan of action: "Alright now.... Let's see what we got... fascinating enemies I dare say, this could be a little too fun... hmmm this reminds me of that one post in the bulletin boards I wrote... 'Baaahhh... that News feed looks something like it would belong on a cult. That or an experiment.... a veeery interesing one though... uhhhhhhhhh I mean, HMPH! Pathetic cult worshipping navis! Why would they not just rely on their own strength! But still... I've heard of rumors about those Cybeasts being made by bugs but these are with navis, I don't think it be one I think...' If Cybeasts were made from combining bug data... maybe combining it with Navi data could make it a good deal stronger... but just any navi data can't be right. Also too much virus data could corrupt the navi in question... Hmmm buuut if it can be imbued into a weapon and then grafted into the navi.... Yes, that could work perfectly... but to see if it'll work I'm gonna need... a sample..." he smirked devilishly as he thought about it, eyeing the heap of viruses in the vicinity.

"I'm gonna need... let's see... Icewave, MistConv, and .... Oh what the hell, Guard please Marth" he said, shrugging his shoulders. Looking at the enemies, Polonius nodded and slotted in the allotted chips, wondering what crossed his mentor's mind as he paced throughout the network's unfamiliar floor.

The Icewave popped into the Blood Cell's hand, as it incased a good layer of ice and frost around his right hand. DNR smirked with glee as he watched Voltman start his barrage of attacks. "hehehe" he giggled with the hammer on both of his hands as he walked nonchalantly towards the blind mafia member. A few seconds later he dashed on with an insane, creepy stare in his eyes as he inched closer and closer towards that Scarecrow virus. Mere milliseconds before an impact, he stopped, saying words to endearment towards the navi "Awww, you poor Cornman, you can't scare a thing" he proclaimed as he hold onto his little hammer. He then giggled playfully one more time as he began his thrusting moment of the onto the mouth of the Scarecrow, ready to pull away from it its central lightning assessing unit, more known to others as a lightning Rod. "I hope you like waves of sharp ice, cause with a quick blast, your gonna go big... bam and boom! Tehe"

The Misty Fist appeared soon after, and DNR was raring to go to prepare his next attack, aiming straight towards the fiery Champu. He heaved it slowly towards the fist loving fireball and looked on with excitement as he anticipated an explosion of destruction and steam, but more importantly the destruction. It moved rather slowly, chilling the air around the navi that's pushing it "Phew, this Rogue Net, was it Menty? Is sooo darn chilly Woooh!" he shook his head furiously to gather enough steam to continue the dauntless task.

He Somersaulted a few times, trying to avoid any attacks of the Virus Brigade and then threw up a shield surrounding himself in it "Hahawwwwwwww" he cackled and chortled. "There's no escape or attacking in the Absolutely Utterly Safe Capsule! Your dooommmed! DOOOOOOOOMMMED I say!"

Despite the looming numbers of a shitload swarm of viruses, the navis held strong. Voltman sighed as he created a barrier around himself before dashing at the Octor and letting loose a powerful strike of electricity at the virus, the metal flooring boosted the attack, zapping the virus furiously before making it explode to bits. Voltman then promptly stabbed at the already dead virus' area in contempt. A nearby Swordy2 took this chance and swiped at Voltman with a flaming blade, only to be blocked by a barrier.
Voltman then rushed the two Twisty viruses, slashing furiously with his sword of water, successfully wiping out the control tower-like viruses. He then dodged a surprise attack from a Momogro.
DNR rushed at the Scarecrow virus, ripping out something before freezing the thing. The maniac doctor then FALCON PAANCHED a Chumpu with his powerful fist, disposing it. He then avoided a raining attack from a nearby FighterPlane, before putting up a Guard, which was attacked by a Cacty, broke, and reflected the attack back at the plant virus.
"BUST A MOVE!" One of the NetMafia Goons shouted as the three blasted the Cacty viruses with their machine guns, before putting up Guards, which were attacked by the Swordy viruses and a Chumpu.
"WAHAHAHAHAHA! KEEP IT UP BOYS!" Mental cheered as swords rained down on the Scarecrows and impaled them, but didn't seem to do any damage to them. An illusion, it seems. The FighterPlanes seem to be dealing with something invisible too, but some stray shots hit Voltman and DNR.
Aron rushed in at the Momogro's swiping here and there, though the viruses proved too quick for the soldier and he was easily whacked around a bit. Tremble came to help, shaking the area under the Momogros by adjusting the knob on the seismograph attached to his chest, damaging them with an area wide effect.
RAION shot nervously at the Cacty's, finishing them off.
"WAHAHAHAHAHA! Good fun, eh boys?" Mental remarked. His subordiantes nodded while the rest just groaned.

Voltman felt the thrill of battling viruses surge through him once more (or was it the backsurge of electricity from his attack?) as he fried the systems of the Octor. The electricity that the floor matched his with, however, he wasn't expecting. His Aquasword slashed needlessly through the slightly smoking corpse of the virus before it disappeared completely. A swordy-like virus then charged at him, swinging wildly with its sword, but his barrier took it without any effort on the part of the navi it was protecting. As if to show this, he let out a mad laugh before charging at the Remobit towers and taking them down. Having been cleaved in two, the viruses drifted apart almost comically before the remobits themselves fell to the ground, dematerializing along with their control operators.. As he readied himself for his next attack, a hole appearing in the ground caught his attention. Leaning forwards warily, Voltman looked into the hole, before a mole with a shovel leaped out, swinging. Jumping backwards, he felt the air currents created by the strike barely missing his torso, and let out a small relieved sigh. But the carnage wasn't over yet.

DNR was the next to take a turn swinging at the viruses, and he wasted no time. A freezing blast, and the strange scarecrow-like virus was encased in ice. A mad flaming punch then followed, turning a Chumpu into so much ash before deleting it completely. Shots rained down from the sky as a Fighterplane flew by, but the doctor was not to be harmed. A quick dodge manuver, and he was out of the range of the attack. A cacty's head was no better, reflecting against DNR's guard and crashing into its own body with its needle-strewn head.

Machine gun fire and guards were the actions of the NetMafia goons, who tore through the cactuslike viruses and reflected the attacks directed at them. Mental's illusions then proceeded to infect the minds of all there, as swords rained from the sky and impaled the Scarecrows, and the three Fighterplanes succumbed to the illusions, flying wildly and shooting everywhere. Several shots hit Voltman in the chest, but he was lucky in that they did little damage.

The Netpolice were the last ones to attack. Aron charged into the midst of the Momogros, slashing wildly, but he wasn't as lucky as Voltman had been. And he was outnumbered. He got several smashes to the face and torso, but it was Tremble to the rescue with an earthquake. The ground shaking seemed to throw the viruses from their normal environment, one even smashing into the side of its own hole. And to finish off the rather irritating, and potentially dangerous, Cacty viruses was RAION with several weak shots. The Netpolice trio still had the problem of the Momogros to deal with, and Voltman had a strategy to divulge, but he decided to carry out his own attacks first. The earthquake had knocked the viruses out of commission for a small time. And small it may have been, but it was more than enough for Voltman to finish off a few of the viruses still causing trouble.

WAHAHAHAHAHA! Good fun, eh boys? Mental remarked. Voltman groaned, and the blade of the Aquasword retreated back into the hilt of the weapon, only to be replaced by the Elecsword. Sparks flowed over the blade, and a wave of electricity from the ground covered Voltman in a barrier once more. Slashing through the air twice with the sword, Voltman chose his targets. A nod to Shigeru, and he sent the Areagrab. Alright, Voltman, tear 'em apart! Attacks flew through the air as Voltman dashed, shots from the Fighterplanes flying everywhere, Mental's swords impaling the terrain and the viruses, and the Elecsword casting a glow on the surroundings in the dim light of the Rogue net. Having gathered enough speed, Voltman disappeared in a flash of light and reappeared behind the group of Swordy viruses a moment later. Surprise, boys! The floor beneath the viruses began to spark as it reacted to Voltman's weapon, and as Voltman slashed several times across the backs of the viruses, bolts of lightning shot up from the floor to greet his sword, increasing its power twofold. Streaks of white lightning traced the air where Voltman's weapon had traveled, and a gash was carved in the ground with a single mad swipe of his sword. Bolts of lightning flew randomly from the encounter, fizzling out of existence feet away from where they were formed.

A lightning storm later, Voltman began to dash for his next target. Running directly at the lone Chumpu virus, Voltman made sure that the enemy had seen him. If this virus was anything like the Champy viruses he had faced, he knew exactly how it would attack. First the disappearance, then the reappearance, followed by a quick punch. Continuing to run towards the virus, Voltman watched carefully for the telltale disappearance that came before it attacked. It came soon enough. And as soon as he thought he saw the flames of the virus appearing in front of his face, Voltman rolled to the side and slashed. Not today, buddy! Another bolt of lightning came from the ground, matching the power of the Elecsword, shooting into the sky and striking the distant ceiling of the normal Electown net.

Look out! Voltman leapt forward as the cry from his operator came, and just in time. Stray shots from the wildly firing Fighterplane viruses tore through the spot he had occupied just moments previously. Voltman nodded thankfully at Shigeru, before getting ready for his final attack run. Voltman sprinted towards one of the Fighterplane viruses, dodging left and right to avoid the random shots while gaining speed. When he had gotten close enough, Voltman made a flying leap towards the virus. Letting sheer momentum carry him through the air towards his opponent, Voltman raised the sword high above his head, and when he neared he slashed downwards. A flurry of strikes almost too fast to be seen, identifiable only by the curves of light that traced a path around Voltman's form, followed in the moments that Voltman was near enough the enemy to strike. Ha! Eat that, "Rogue" virus! Having flown past his target, then, one would think that Voltman was done attacking. One would be wrong. Charging up a massive amount of Electric energy once more, Voltman shot the entire mass of power through his spear, into the ground beneath the Fighterplane. At first, nothing happened, then, with a snap of his fingers and a cry of Lightning Spear! The ground where it hit started to glow with electricity, and the doubled power shot out of the ground straight upwards at the belly of the unfortunate enemy. Turning around to see the ground swiftly approaching, Voltman landed with a roll and leapt out of the way of any possible counterattacks. Surveying the battlefield, he saw his Netpolice allies still near the Momogros.

Aron! Aron, patience is the key! Wait for them to attack you, then counterattack! And Tremble, keep hitting them with earthquakes!
Voltman surveyed the field, and saw how rapidly the enemies were falling. He grinned. Perfect.

"Well, well, well an interesting scrimmage eh racing fans!? With Team EliteBeat Busting their respective caps and Team Police hot on their trail, its surely a race nobody can predict! Oh and what's this!?!? Their making a left tuuuurn! Oh and whats this!? Another left turn! This race just keeps getting betteeeeeeeeerrr and beeeetteeeeeeerrrrr!" the mad doctor screamed out loud, using an imaginary microphone.

"Ahh....That was a rather fun don't cha think Johnny?" he said towards the empty space to his right. Shifting his body towards said space, and changing his voice "Wh-why yes it is Tommy, you see..." he said holding what looks to be an imaginary marker as he drew lines and circles "There are these viruses right over here, the-their called Scarecrows and their not looking so hot right now, see that one guy froze and impaled the both of them... and then we have those over up here those are fighter jet planes... like the one's that fought Godzilla, hyehyehyeh, with the Raaaaaaghthhaaaaaaar and the sky scraping and those are gonna be a big bunch of a nuisance for the combatants, if their listening they should attack those first, and another thing hyehyeh, go buy Madden 2047! I mean its like the best game ever!"

His... interesting rendition of a sports commenter was an interesting way to ascertain the situation currently but it does do its job of telling his teammates. Either way, helpful hints aside, it is his turn to be on the offensive.

"I'm gonna need... let's see... Reflex Hammer, MistConv, and .... Oh what the hell, Marublaster please Marth" he said, shrugging his shoulders. Looking at the enemies, Polonius nodded and slotted in the allotted chips, wondering what crossed his mentor's mind as he paced throughout the network's unfamiliar floor.

The Reflex Hammer popped into the Blood Cell's hand. Mere milliseconds before an impact, he stopped, saying words to endearment towards the navi "Ladies and Gentleman, for my first trick, I give you the Icy wave of deaaaatthhhhhhh! Raahhhhhh Yaaayyyy Deaaaaathhhh! Ahhhhhhh!" he proclaimed as he hold onto his little hammer, strangling himself to express the pain that may or may not happen in this attack. He then giggled playfully one more time as he began his thrusting moment onto the cockpit of the plane "Also known as 'Synopsis, the ride!'"

The Misty Fist appeared soon after, and DNR was raring to go to prepare his next attack, aiming straight towards the fiery Scarecrow, well more like impaled.
His next attack had him looking towards those flight planes, more particularly the middle one, which elicited a smirk from his eyes as his arm configured towards the launcher and the buggy ball is launched "This is Captain Sinclair speaking. On behalf of my crew I'd like to welcome you aboard British Airways flight 602 from New York to London. We are currently flying at a height of 35,000 feet midway across the Atlantic."If you look out of the windows on the starboard side of the aircraft, you will observe that both the starboard engines are on fire."If you look out of the windows on the port side, you will observe that the port wing has fallen off."If you look down towards the Atlantic ocean, you will see a little yellow life raft with three people in it waving at you."That's me your captain, the co-pilot, and one of the air stewardesses. This is a recorded message. Have a good flight everybody!"

Voltman charges once again into the fray, teleporting quickly behind the Swordy viruses, and letting loose with a powerful electric swipe, felling them all in one hit. True to his prediction, as he dashes toward the Chumpu virus, it notices and quickly teleports and punches with its flames, the first shattering the barrier, and the second connecting with Voltman the second it is deleted by the electric swordsman's blade.

"CROSS COUNTER!" Mental calls out randomly as he gracefully dances among the roses-er viruses.

Volt, not finished with his attack, charges at the Fighterplanes, hijacking them, and dealing some major hurt to the viruses. The viruses retaliate, but the navi's swordsmanship rescues him with active dodging reflexes.

DNR leaps up, joining his electric brother, and smashes another Fighterplane to the ground with the help of his trusty Reflex Hammer, stunning the virus. He then punches with a giant fist at the Scarecrow targeted. He then finishes off another Fighterplane with a Marublaster.

"We're here to bust a move! So don't worry and stay in cool! Let's do it!" The mafia agents cheered, growing... AFRO'S? One Blue, one Green, and One Red. Man, what the hell...
"In honor of this cool druid dude we saw on our way here. We'll proudly present some disco action! It's time to get down and funky everybody!" the red afro one yelled.
"AWESOMIZED AFRO DISCO FORCE!" The three shouted, butting their giant hair's together, which started glowing in a rainbowish aura and then shot funky disco lights everywhere.
Strange, seemed to have no effect on the viruses, but Voltman and DNR felt a little bit stronger.

Taking Voltman's advice, Aron calmed down, and changed his breathing pattern, closing his eyes, and bracing his sword. All the Momogro's came out, and the Police Swordsman reacted quickly with the swift strokes of his weapon, knocking the viruses back, but not deleting them. Tremble's earthquakes and RAION's shots finished off the Momogro's.

Mental's effects seemed to have worn off on the viruses for now, but the psychic merrily flipped out of the way of a Scarecrow's lightning bolt, which had healed the virus.
"One little, two little, three little fishy boys," Mental started humming, sending blasts of psychic energy at some of the viruses, knocking one out of it's stunned state. "Four little, five little, six little fishy boys, and a MILLION MORE TO GO!" Mental cackled sending giant lead blocks falling randomly from the sky for no apparent reason. As to DNR's question, he answered, "Pshaw, it's all rain, rain, rain in these parts, ayup!"

The frozen Scarecrow finally got out of its frozen state, but lacked the time to counterattack.

As Voltman tore through the swordy viruses, he allowed himself a small grin. Something about felling powerful enemies with a single stroke just brought a smile to his face. The Chumpu was next, and as it disappeared in a small wisp of fire Voltman prepared to counterattack. He didn't predict the speed with which the enemy moved, however, but trusted his barrier to guard him against the hit that was already on its way. Letting the electricity absorb the hit and shatter, he lunged quickly with the sparking blade, just as the enemy let loose a second punch. The sword connected, but so did the punch. Voltman doubled over briefly as the wind was knocked out of him, and his chest armor cracked slightly with the force of the hit and the heat of the fire taking their toll.

CROSS COUNTER! Voltman looked around, confused, only to see Mental being... well, Mental. He ignored the commander and continued his attack. A quick slash later, and the first Fighterplane's HP dropped severely. The second was then brought to critical health by one of Voltman's trademark spears. He heard shots ring out from above as he landed, and rolled to the side quickly, bullets whizzing through the space he had occupied not moments before. Letting out a relieved sigh, he checked the progress of the rest of the battle. One of the Figherplanes slamming into the ground and another being deleted at DNR's hand gave Voltman not a little satisfaction, but the fist launched at the scarecrow managed to escape his attention in the heat of battle. Some indistinct cheering came from the direction of the mafia agents, followed by a... rainbow... thing...? In any case, as it hit Voltman he felt a small boost of power. He nodded slightly as a sign of thanks to the three now afro-ed navis. Glancing at the police, he saw the last of the Momogros' data dematerializing under a combined assault.
Voltman was shocked out of his observation as a bolt of lightning shot past him, heating the air and momentarily blinding him. Turning to the source, Voltman saw one of the scarecrow viruses finishing its attack, excess electricity coursing over its wounds to heal the earlier damage. Shigeru started to record video of the manuver.

Hmm... interesting. Using electricity to heal, and attack? It's what Voltman does now, but he needs to drain power from another to heal. Maybe, if he used his own power... The rest of the thought trailed off as the attack ended, Mental flipping all over the battlefield. Shigeru saved the small recording to his PET for later. Meanwhile, blocks of lead began to rain from the sky, psychic energy began to fly through the chaotic battlefield, and as it all ended, Voltman took a quick enemy head count. It took him about half a second, during which electricity flowed from the floor of the corrupted network to cover his body in a slight barrier.
Three enemies left... But, of course, Voltman couldn't be completely right. A sharp crack sounded from near the Scarecrow, and Voltman prepared to dodge out of the way, only to see the ice fall away from a second enemy. Four, then. Shigeru, can I get an HP count? White numbers suddenly popped up in Voltman's visor, arranging themselves into HP counts above the heads of the enemies. We... might be able to finish them off. Any thoughts? A screen with Shigeru's face appeared on Voltman's visor, but his operator wasn't looking at the navi, instead reviewing the data flowing onto the holoscreen projected by the PET. From my calculations, we got about enough power from those strange mafia navis for about 40 extra damage, total. Just a little to each of your attacks, but it should be enough. Voltman nodded, although he didn't completely grasp what his operator was saying.

Shigeru didn't notice, however, and continued undeterred. Also, it would appear that electricity heals the Scarecrow viruses. Voltman groaned. There went half his arsenal. Just as well, I suppose. The Elecsword wouldn't have been able to hold up much longer, anyways. Best case scenario, we get enough out of it do delete the Fighterplanes. Shigeru and Voltman both looked around the battlefield. They might be able to finish off the viruses... but how? Shigeru surveyed the battlefield. The Scarecrows, the video he had recorded, the fighterplanes... Voltman saw things from a completely different angle, one of what he had, rather than what he had to face. A swiftly deteriorating Elecsword, metal terrain, a program advance that was to be used only as a last resort...

Both navi and operator snapped their fingers at the same time, turning to the respective holoscreens that showed the face of their partner.
That's it! That's it! Voltman grinned, as did Shigeru, as the battlechips they both knew would finish off the enemies were sent, and Voltman began his attack. Holding up his hand, Voltman began to gather a ball of energy in his palm, letting his visor target the weaker scarecrow for him. Imparting a small amount of the energy granted to him by the mafiosi, Voltman let the energy fully form before he sent it flying at its target. The Powerblast left a trail of dust in its wake, stirred from the rubble as it flew, and made it to its destination within a half a second of being fired.
One down... Voltman muttered, deactivating the Elecsword. It would only slow him down, now.
...Three to go. Shigeru finished, sending a duo of chips.

Voltman's right fist disappeared, to be replaced by a spiked cactus head, even as his left fist began to glow with a red light, the armor smoking slightly. Charging across the battlefield, Voltman gathered force for the Cactiball, and started to charge energy to fire it. Meanwhile, the smoke on his left hand had gathered into a small flame, which began to spread. A small burst of power from the energy granted him by the mafia trio launched the Cactiball at high speed towards its target, the green spiked orb making dents in the metal terrain as it bounced once, twice, and reached its destination. The Firehit had fully formed, by then, and Voltman drew back his left fist to fire the crimson punch. Leaping into the air, he delivered a punishing blow to... the ground? The heated punch sank into the terrain like water into a sponge, and the metal glowed red, shooting a pillar of fire into the air. Voltman shaped the flame around his fist, sweating slightly from the strain, before firing the doubled punch at the enemy. The dents of the cactiball faded in the wake of the attack, metal liquefying under the intense heat and slipping into the small depressions. A veritable explosion of energy followed, the enemy obscured from view among the depth of the attack.
And that makes two. Keep it up! Shigeru commented, sending another wave of chips. This should finish them off! Go to it, Voltman! A small nod was his only answer.

The cactiball launcher sunk back into Voltman's wrist, to be replaced by a single barrel of shining metal. The smoking fist was likewise replaced by a large blue magnet, sparking electricity. The depths of the barrel began to glow blue as Voltman ran, the two odd weapons ready for use. The gun barrel didn't have long to charge, and was soon ready to fire. Voltman advanced on his first target, the weakened fighterplane, and readied the weapon, slowing to steady his aim. It took him only a few moments to lock on, and when he did, he fired. A beam of blue energy flew from the barrel, following the enemy as Voltman kept precise aim. It lasted only a few moments, however, and soon enough the blast dissipated into the air. One more. The last fighterplane was already weakened, and Voltman had the weapon ready to defeat it. Pointing the magnet at the enemy, Voltman activated the battlechip and felt the electric energy surging through his body, as it struggled to pull the flying enemy towards him. But sure enough, the enemy continued its relentless flight across the battlefield, regardless of the supermagnet pointed its direction. Voltman swore under his breath and, keeping the magnet aimed at its target, started to run towards the enemy. Steadying his aim with his free hand, Voltman's mad charge quickly began to catch up with the enemy. And as every little kid knows, magnets work much better the closer they are to the thing they're trying to attract. Voltman leapt in the air, pulling back the weapon and letting out a yell as he flew straight towards the last enemy.
Here's where it ends!

"What annoying Attobytes! I'm gonna divide them until their nothing less than one particle in a sea as big as a mole!" the mad doctor declared as he raised his fist towards the remaining viruses.

....
"YAAAAAAAWWWNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!! Ohhh man this war has been veeeeeerry tiring..." he says as he starts getting woozy, dusting off his body suit as he slumped through the field, yawning with every sleep-filled step. His face looked very woozy, his eyes dripping with baggage. He hazily eyed the viruses that were left, weakened as they were and then yawned heavier, extending his hands upwards as he then scratched his posterior.

"... DNR?" dear Polonius asked, somewhat shocked by the mad one's sleepy-headed behavior, whose navi's body is reaching to floor at a fast pace. "Nnn.... Mommy, I want some cocoa pebbles.... Noo nooo not those, the one with the sprinkles... zzz....."

"DNR! DNR wake up! You can't fall asleep now! You don't tire anyway! Wake up! Wake up! Hello!? Hellllloooooooooooo! You can't go to sleep yet! Your not equipped for that!" Polonius' voice became more panicked, realizing that in a place so chaotic, you could easily die by a quick stab in the knife.

... Of course it was rather too late, for the navi is sound asleep "Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...."...

...

... about forty seconds later...

"YAAAWWNNNNNNN..... mmh.... That was the best sleep I've had in years!" screamed DNR, elicitating a swift response from his net operator, whose eyes opened up quickly as he said a tiny bit abruptly "You only slept for 30 seconds!?!?"

"Forrrty seconds dear Gregoria, now if you excuse me..." the doctor said, skipping merrily around the network, lounging right besides the wrapped up nutcase known to some as Mental "Ahhhh isn't this the life Mental my boy! The sun in the air, the ocean's breeze filling your ears and soul with life, and the mashing virus parts all around us... it is truly paradise here in this strange new net... Your arms must be tired loafing around. Come and park a seat here" he said patting the metal floor with his hands. "And of course if you dooooooo... I'll give ya a reaaal show, one where I bare. It. Aalllll." He said seductively with a wink.

This elicits poor Polonius with a grunt as he says "Ugh. I give up, I guess your not attacking for not when your on vacation huh?"

"That's right man, now take a chill pill and watch the fireworks 'sides, Murphy's Travel Rule number one: No flight ever leaves on time unless you are running late and need the delay to make the flight."

"... That doesn't make sense but I guess I have no choice to trust ya huh?" Polonius replied.

"Eeeeeeverythings under control my main stressed out man~" he said as he layed on the floor, sipping imaginative iced tea.

And the viruses are simply eliminated, the electric duo's great teamwork wipe the network of the horde they just faced. Mental produces some beach chairs and lemonade for the participants other than Voltman and they all have a jolly good time.
"Thaaaaaaaat's right on the mark, DNR mah boy. THIS IS PARADISE! And

" the psychic navi sang as a media player opened next to him as he sang. A tone sounded and a message screen popped out in front of everybody's face, reading:

Good day.

A blue shockwave suddenly wiped over all combatants in the nearby area and jacked them out. Mental's hysterical cackle resounded through the area before the jack out and commented, "Now, the real show moves forward." a maniacal grin spread across the psychic's face as the navi's found themselves in their PETs, with a healthy amount of rewards as well.
